My little sister has been telling me about Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta forever, and I have been trying to make my way there. I finally had the chance to visit Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta and I am so happy I did.
Pulling into Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta, the parking is kind of tight; however, there are quite a few spaces, just be prepared to squeeze. LoL! The front is all glass which allows you to see inside before getting into the restaurant. I was excited to see it was spacious and clean.
As I got inside of Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta, the aroma that captured my nose had me ready to order one of everything. As I looked over the menu, there were sooooooooooooo many optionssssssssssss and I had to take a moment to take it all in. It was a battle between the Tacos, Burrito, or a Quesadilla.
I got to the register and decided on the Birria Tacos with a side of Chips and Salsa. As I placed my order, the young lady asked me if I wanted everything on my tacos, as I began to say yes, she started naming what everything was and she said ‘avocado’ and I was like ‘hmmmmmm.’ Avocado on birria… why not… YES, everything!
I placed my order and took a seat and waited for my order to be finished.
Once my order was done, I got my food, checked my plate and oh my goodness… It smelled and looked absolutely amazingggggggg. The birria tacos were so meaty and juicy, The aroma was so intoxicating. You could literally smell the seasonings. My taste buds were ready to taste.
When it came time to eat, I took a bite and fell in love. I now understand why they put the avocado inside the birria. The pairing of the fresh avocado with the slow-cooked, well-seasoned beef made for a creamy, flavorful, mouth-pleasing moment of joy.
The traditional avocado flavor profile of mild (texture), creamy, and buttery, with subtle nutty notes take the back seat to the complex and savory flavor of the birria meat. The dominance of the various dried chiles, herbs, and spices adds layers of earthy, smoky, and spicy notes to the taco, and that’s before you dip it into the consommé.
The Chips were fresh and had the perfect amount of salt and crunch. The mild salsa was slightly bland; however, the spicy salsa was delicious and full of flavor and texture.
Overall, my trip to Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta was AMAZING, and I will be back again for the Birria as well as to try everything else on the menu.
