The food was very delicious!! My first time here. Although I didn't have time to sit and eat. I had ordered to go . The service was fast and friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was packed and had an awesome vibe. Wait time was very little. Everyone patroning seemed to enjoy their food and vibe within . I will be back but to sit and enjoy the food and good vibes the next go round.

I enjoyed coming here. The empanadas were good but I think they were sitting out a bit too long. Our server was nice and bilingual which was amazing! Made us feel welcomed and comfortable.

I’m usually not one to leave reviews but this one really deserved it. I have came here many times and have noticed the same issue, but today will officially be my last time coming to this specific location. With that being said I always!!! tip but this time not today. There’s service is terribly slow, and the thing is that there is so many employees in the back of the restaurant and for what? They act like airheads honestly, we try to signal and wave and almost none turn our way for service. We ordered “desayuno paisa” and it literally took 15min just for scrambled eggs and an arepa with cheese… when it wasn’t even busy. We had to get up from our table to pay at the front when we had ask for our check 2 times and no one had came. Don’t see the point in so many people in the back standing and gossiping instead of attending there guests. If you’re thinking into coming here, I suggest go to the buford location, it’s way better.

My family and I had such a great first experience at La Abuela in Duluth! It was our first time trying Colombian food, and our server Carolina was absolutely amazing. She was so patient and kind while helping us decide what to order, and she took the time to explain different dishes so we could get the full experience. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and you can really tell it’s made with love. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming — we left full and happy! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Ohhh and great entertainment too.... live music!

Google
We had a great experience at this Colombian restaurant on Friday with a large group of about 50 people. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the service was amazing attentive, organized, and welcoming despite our big group. Everything exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back. Just wow!

Yelp
Came here when we visited the new Clawmart opening plan Sunday around 12pm. They had a steady people coming in to eat and enjoying their Sunday lunch. Majority of the staff just speak Spanish but can help you in English if you are not a Spanish speaker. We ordered the Arepa with the Carne Asade and it was very good. The arepa was huge and suuuuoer cheesy. The steak was a little chewy but edible. We also ordered empanadas and rice and beans and it was all enjoyed. The only thing I would say was it was hard to get refills and when refills were given it was just for the person asking. I think they were trying to push alcohol and their mixed drinks more, but we don't drink and I had kid with me so, water was all we were having. Over all we will be back. This place has Columbian music playing, a couple of TV's with only ads running, but over all not too loud.

Yelp
La Delicias de la Abuela has the potential to be a go-to spot for Colombian cuisine in Atlanta, but time and time again, they have fallen short -- and this visit was the final straw. Everything we ordered was disappointing. The red beans, which came with seven different plates, were cold and flavorless. That's not a simple mistake -- it's a clear sign of a lack of quality control in the kitchen. The Ajiaco, a traditional Colombian soup, didn't resemble what it should be. It tasted like plain chicken soup and was missing the essential ingredients and rich flavor that make a real Ajiaco. Most concerning, though, is what happened after the meal. A few hours after getting home, my wife, my daughter, and her friend -- all of whom shared the same dish -- began vomiting. I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but when food makes your family sick, saying nothing is unacceptable. On the way out, we spoke with a waitress, Aloa, who seemed genuinely concerned and kindly offered us a discount for our next visit. While we appreciated the gesture, it's simply not enough in light of what happened. This experience goes far beyond bad service or bland food -- it's a matter of health and safety. I truly hope the restaurant takes this seriously and makes the necessary improvements, but a next visit will definitely NOT HAPPEN.

Yelp
This is a super cool Colombian restaurant in Duluth. Service was phenomenal. Great atmosphere. The food was the star of the show though. I got a combination platter that had all kinds of great stuff on it. My sons shared the Tarasco steak with fries. All food was seasoned really good! . It was a ton of food. Overall, a great Colombian food experience in Georgia. I would come back.

Yelp
We decided to come here to check out a new spot. One of our friends said was pretty good. The restaurant was very busy and our waiter only speaks Spanish, but thankfully, our friend was bilingual. I know enough Spanish to get by but not to order off a menu. I wish I would've gotten a picture of the restaurant, but there were so many people there and I didn't want them to get annoyed that they were in my picture. We were all really hungry and so we got a starter called Arepas. I didn't know what it was till it came, but they were huge, the size of a pancake. It's basically corn meal I think with cheese. I would imagine not very healthy. It tasted OK to me. It was just fried and just not really something I would normally go for. For my entrée I chose a chicken and rice dish with a side of plantain. It was one piece of plantain and I usually like them because they're sweet but this one just tasted kind of dry and not that sweet. I didn't even finish it. The chicken to me was OK. It tasted better with the sauce that was on the table, which tasted kind of like a flavored mayo, not spicy, more like a creamy sauce of some sort, but I cannot pinpoint the exact flavor. They had other varieties of meat, including different types of steak, pork loin. They also have beverages, including alcoholic if you're in the mood. Our friend got a strawberry daiquiri and it looked really good, but I didn't try it. There's also someone walking around with these big pieces of some type of bread That you can purchase. I also skipped this part. My daughter got the beef dish and it came with these red beans and rice. I tried the red beans and they just weren't for me. They didn't have much flavor. All in all, the meal was just OK for me. I don't see me coming back here. But I can tell it must be a pretty popular place because it was really packed. There was also live music with a singer belting out his big voice.

Yelp
**** Review 147 **** I've had the pleasure of eating at their other locations, and their service was ok, what made me go back every time was the amazing flavors, the portion sizes, and the value of what you paid for. Unfortunately, my last visit had just the amazing flavor. I do have to admit, I did visit the restaurant 45 minutes before they closed, and to make it easier on the staff I decided to do a carry-out order. The staff was rude, and seemed like I was a bother to them. I ordered a Bandeja Paisa, which the receipt shows that, but I was also charged some kind of take-out convenience fee. Their prices are really high, and their portions have drastically been reduced. Once I got my food none of the staff even acknowledged me, they just handed me the food and walked away. I don't know if this was just at this branch, but it's not good for business if this is how they treat customers.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Service was on point. Those mojitos will have you feeling great. The atmosphere is laidback but fun. Definitely recommend! I have eaten there several times now and it's always been good.

Yelp
I visited the Doraville location, I noticed the place was empty for Friday night but I walked in with my friends. The server was Lady she great us like we were ready to go and then she was really pushed to take the order. I said "are you on the rush?" She said no. So, we asked for the menu, she brought us the menu. The menu had no prices whatsoever so we said we wanna share a bandeau la abuela, we ordered a Margarita and a pint of beer and a Corona. We had or food (delicious food and a great presentation) she came back and she asked "do you wanna order anything else and we shared a skirt steak, when we finished she removed all the dishes and she asked me if I wanted more drinks. In that moment I asked for the check. The check was 187 dollars in two dishes an three drink with 26 dollars gratuity added. Really expensive for the restaurant no wonder the place was empty. You guys need to put the prices on the physical menu no only on the website, do what happened if I don't have power on my phone? The food quality is amazing but you guys have to put the prices on the physical menu so everyone can know what they're eating and how much they're paying. 65 dollars for a plate? Come on!

Yelp
I finally tried Colombian food and I wasn't disappointed. We were looking for a place that had good drinks and good food. My family and I were in Atlanta for my bachelors graduation and stumbled upon this gem. We were greeted and seated. They are super busy so it can get hectic when it comes to seating people. But aside from that the waiter and food was great. I ordered a tamarind/mango jalapeño margarita to drink. It was delicious. I wish I had taken a pic of it. They dress it up with tajin rim and a charm pop. We ordered empanadas as our appetizer. We are Salvadoran and it reminded us of a dish similar to ours. Made it feel warming. I ordered this dish that might even be an appetizer but it had everything that was great. It had yucca frita...super tender yet crispy, pork belly, pork ribs, and sausage. It was so good. My family was also very pleased with their dishes no complaints. There are two locations. Seems the one to the left of the one we visited is more of a fast food restaurant instead of a sit down. It is also on the pricey side but we'll worth it. I will definitely e back if I'm ever in Atlanta again.

Yelp
Y'all, don't sleep on this place! As part of my Gwinnett dining explorations, my Colombian colleague took me to try Las Delicias de La Abuela for lunch. I've been here with him twice now and both times the restaurant was packed! Everyone here knows what's up! The lunch special here is incredible - for less than $10, you get a soup, a meal that comes with a main protein, salad, fries, and plantains, AND a fruit drink! It doesn't get much better than this. The first time I had the lunch special they featured a stewed chicken thigh that was marinated well and accompanied the salad so, so well. I finished almost the entire dish! The second time I dined here they featured a rice dish that contained chicken - it was a bit dry and not my favorite but what can beat that bargain?! Service is quick and friendly but better if you speak Spanish. I would quickly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a cheap, hearty, delicious meal!

Yelp
I came here for the first time to celebrate Mother's Day! My mom had heard of this place before so we decided to give it a try. We got the ribs and 2 of the mini bandejas. The food is delicious! It is more food than what we are used to so we did have to take some of it TOGO. If you have a huge appetite this is definitely a place you should try! The service was great, the atmosphere was nice and my mother loved the mojitos. I can't wait to come back again.

The place has good food I just didn't love what I ordered. I got the breaded chicken which was dry but everything else tasted good!

Yelp
Las delicias de la abuela is a Colombian family owned restaurant that has two locations. One in Buford and one in Pleasant Hill, Duluth. I've only been to the one in Pleasant Hill. They have a very extensive menu based on grilled meats, empanadas, arepas and traditional Colombian food in general. We ordered a "Picada de la abuela" or "Chopped La Abuela" which is a bowl with grilled chicken, sausage, blood sausage, pork belly, ribs, empanadas, arepas, and fries. ($15). The food was really good, and tasty. That's the whole 3 stars right there. The service... meh. They don't seem to care about you at all. I had to call our server several times for basic stuff like napkins, utensils, or refills. Might be back just cause the food is actually really good.

Yelp
In the shopping center of the farmers market, across from LA fitness shopping center. Huge parking lot. I visited Saturday night 06/19/21 and it was amazing. There was live music. The inside has lovely decor. It's very welcoming. The food was great. Our group tried Bandeja Paisa, Mini Bandeja, breaded pork dish (lomo a cerdo apanado) and a breaded chicken dish ( pechuga apanado) excuse my spelling if it's misspelled. Food was served freshly and we all enjoyed the taste. Great ambiance and great food. I will be back and recommend to everyone looking for some colombian food in the area. The food was so good I completely forgot to take pictures, next time!!

Yelp
First time coming to this place. My brother has been here before and was making a few recommendations. I got the mango jugos naturales and it so delicious! For the main course, we decided to order different things and split them so we can try everything. We got the churrasco colombiano, we got it medium rare, but I think next time we would get it medium. There was also a little too much fat on the meat that could've been trimmed off a little. The server recommended apollo a la campesina, the sauce on the chicken was really good and the chicken is nicely cooked and not dry at all. We also ordered a de la abuela (hot dog) and it has probably the best toppings and sauces on it. Will definitely order the hot dog again. For dessert, we got the crepe fusion #1. We went with strawberry and banana. It came with ice cream, whipped cream, and drizzled with caramel sauce. We also got the ensalada de frutas. It was a good dessert, but however the cheese threw me off. It's definitely a dessert to share because it's a decent size.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Atmosphere was nice. Service was alright. Our server was a little distracted. Had to call him over like three times for some plates and waters. Also the rice portion wasn't up to par. I've gone to other Columbian restaurants such as trigos and their rice portion were very nice.

Fran A.

Yelp
it's aight but you can still have a nice meal if you're hungry or hungry or if you're not feeling hungry and want something else for lunch and you don't want it too late late in your life i just don't know if i should be eating it all the way through my life or if it's a bad day for you or if it's a long night or something else but you know i just don't know how?

Yelp
I really wanted a crepe and my fiance found this awesome little spot in Duluth Georgia. The crepe and waffle was Amazing. There is a bit of a language barrier as the employees only speak Spanish but if you use google translate you will be fine. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I truly enjoyed my crepe and my fiance loved his waffle. Great snack.

Yelp

Cristina C.

Yelp
The empanadas were AWFUL. Cold, greasy, and with a large space between the hard/tough masa and filling. Truly insulting to one of Colombia's iconic foods. On the plus side, the steak (carne asada) was superb. Absolutely delicious.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for lunch. We went with a big group (8 people) and only had one hour to eat. We had a Colombian co-worker with us, so he helped bridge any gaps that we had in the menu. The restaurant was large, but there was a strong presence of wait staff around. The decor was a beautiful mix of modern and traditional. It felt up to date, but yet still had a family feel. It looked like a very popular lunchtime restaurant with an assortment of people present from co-workers to families. Our server was very helpful and attentive. He was patient with us and explained the menu items in detail and made good recommendations. Most of us ordered -The Ajiaco lunch special which was served with salad, rice, fried plantains and fresh juice This was my first experience with Colombian food and I was not disappointed. The juice was very very good and didn't taste concentrated. It was very fresh and sweetened perfectly. The soup was hot (temperature) flavorful and very well seasoned. There was plenty of chicken to make it very hearty and filling but not heavy. The accoutrements were good as well and a nice complement to the soup. They were able to get us all served very promptly and we were in and out of the door with time to spare. I can't wait to go back.

Sarah B.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant several times in the past. To begin with it wasn't bad- just severely overpriced for the food they give. However, the more I went the more I was disappointed. The food remains to be grossly overpriced, and the employees are unhelpful, rude and accuse their customers of lying simply because of a forgotten food item that easily could have been replaced. If I could give a lower rating I would. EDIT: about 10 minutes after I uploaded this review I received this message. Just further proof of unprofessionalism.

Yelp
Authentic Colombian food. Excellent service. The food is delicious. Chimichurri steak is absolutely amazing

Yelp
Last night I tried This place it's a side business from the restaurant only specializing in deserts , we order and we are always very specific of what we like and once I order arrived it was nothing like we ordered it , I believe the manager was the one that handled it and he was very professional about it and changed our order and wrote it down exactly how we wanted it , so we waited some more . I was really excited to taste them. *The minus one star is because I ordered a strawberry crêpe and I thought it was very thick for a crêpe ( I think I'm been fair ) like a pancake, I also had a jello and it was very , very hard . I had a tummy ache after . I know it's a new business and I know reviews always help them to improve . Looks like they have so much potential and wishing them good luck in this new journey.

Yelp
Just like home cooked. Fresh, flavorful and a a ton of food. Guaranteed to satisfy the hungry. Visited after a co-worker was raving about this place. I ordered the chicken lunch combo special. The soup arrived first, which was a creamy tomato-ey soup. Light on the tomato, big on the creamy. A little heavy for lunch. The grilled chicken rice place was good. Chicken was grilled to perfection. To say that it was better and more juicy than ChickFilEt is not an exaggeration. Chicken good, flavroed rice, fresh wedge of avocado and salad. All good All of the above with a lemonade came to about $7 or something. Service was fast and efficient.

Yelp
Perfect vibe! They had live music at the Duluth location on Saturday evening and it was amazing.

Yelp
I came here with a girl friend to eat some sweets and they have many options to chose from. It's a Colombian place. They also have a regular Colombian restaurant next to. Good services. Good sweeties. Good parking lot but can get a bit crowded in some rush hours of the day.

Jessy V.

Yelp
google avatar

Liz U.

Yelp
I've been here a few times & their food is good. Served hot & fresh. I always get the pollo asado & it's always satisfying. Not a beautiful restaurant. But they have tasty Colombian food. Also to mention it's pricey.

Alex P.

Yelp
Scarcity (the state of being scarce or in short supply) Wouldn't go back, period. The service was lack luster, having to ask for refills of your water and if you want ice in your water you have to ask for it... I ordered the "bandeja paisa" and while ok, it was served in a very small plate which is not customary or traditional for the type of meal. Eggs are served with the bandeja paisa, if you have a preference make sure you tell them. They just assume you want your eggs hard, not sure if that's because they precook the for efficiency purposes. The chorizo and the chicarrón (pork rind) was good, the beans (kidney beans) were ok but I wouldn't consider them to be your traditional Colombian beans. Empanadas we're about 40% filled and extremely greasy. Overall, if more Colombian restaurants options were around this place would have to make some quick changes to how operate and what they serve. Scarcity has made them significant but that's not an effective strategy. When going to a restaurant you have a level of expectation, these people just try to skimp you in all areas...

Z H.

Yelp
They use to be good. service got terrible. Today we asked the hostess to sit us away from people since I was with my elderly parents. She did but the waiter that was there was very upset and didn't bother to come and serve us. we were there for more than 10 minutes and no one came. He kept looking but didn't want to serve us. We have to ask someone else.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients, excellent seasoning and authentic. This restaurant was a 2 hour drive for me and my husband, but definitely worth the drive. The grilled chicken dish was flavorful and juicy. The arepa was tasty and the fried plantains were fantastic. We will be back.

Nashali R.

Yelp
This place is spectacular!!!! A must to try it out!! The food is authentic and delicious!!!

Gisselle B.

Yelp
I went to eat lunch recently and although the service is usually ehh the food is always good but this last time it was terrible experience overall. To begin with, the service was horrible to say the least. They were rude and almost treat you like your stupid. They messed up our orders a lot and trying to flag someone down to get help was impossible. Everyone we would ask would give attitude and say it wasn't their responsibility or they would just say okay and not do anything. When someone finally called our waiter he was so rude. Last but not least, the food was bland and cold. Won't ever be coming there again, I'll stick to the Doraville location from now on..

Heewon S.

Yelp
Do not order the beef empanadas. They are filled with 98% potato. I thought they gave me the wrong empanada. The worst thing of all: there are no prices on their paper menu. In what world is this ok? So I asked the waitress what the deal is and she shrugged and said the prices change everyday. Oh I'm sorry I didn't know this was the stock market, I thought I was at a restaurant. This place....just....NO.

Marla R.

Yelp
This place serves some really good home-cooked meals if you don't feel like cooking. I got the mini meat plate I think it's number 41. So good! Well seasoned. Ask for the hot sauce for some extra kick!
google avatar

Jessi F.

Yelp
It started off good with amazing customer service, as soon as we got our food though that's when all else failed. Food was cold and the server never came back to refill our drinks or to ask how we were doing.
google avatar

Yelp
I went to this restaurant in Doraville, and was awful, i asked for "Colombian churrasco" and the meat was hard to chew, my daughter asked for chicken and they served to her pork...very disappointing of this restaurant
google avatar

Chlo L.

Yelp
It's not my favorite Colombian place in Atlanta but definitely hits the spot when you're craving some Colombian food. It was pretty busy on a Friday around lunch time, but we got seated right away and the food came out fresh and fast with excellent service. Will definitely consider coming back, if in the area!
google avatar

Mina L.

Yelp
I love how they remodeled the place, it is true no matter which location you go to, no one speaks English lol. Oh well maybe the guy who brings the food. The beans are always deliciously prepared, seasoning on the meats were tad bit salty or lAcking. No balance. Fresh fruit juices are really good. Definitely fresh and not overwhelmingly sweet. Seating areas are comfortable and restaurant was very clean. Overpriced. Lunch menus are better priced for same portion.

Yelp
Love this place! My boyfriend and I come at least once a week during their lunch special time slot. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and they respect COVID-19 guidelines. The food tastes just like your abuelita would make it: with flavor and care! The plates are always filling and well rounded- offering protein, soup, greens, starch, etc. The staff is also always friendly and attentive. Truly enjoy this Pleasant Hill location.

Yelp
I heard a lot of good comments from this place, so I try it today with my family, but just getting in to the place, the problems start, all the tables was dirty, we take a seat and somebody come and clean it, when the waitress come to the table, they just say, "we only left a cup of soup", and we ask if they have a regular menu, and they bring it. They take aprox 20 min to bring the food, actually they bring first the food to a table who walk in later than us, no matter that, when the food arrive, the food was cold, and additionally, they don't bring napkins, we need to ask for them. Really bad experience. $70 bucks and a 18% mandatory tip for a really bad service. Good luck!

Yelp
Ordered to go and it was excellent. Well packaged and delicious. The seafood stew (only on weekends) was my favorite. There was a line of people waiting to be seated but the pick up to go was quick and easy.
