The Best Chocolate Shops in Houston | Eater Houston

"So much of the floor space at Las Delicias Mexicanas is covered with displays of chocolates and candies that it’s almost difficult to move around. Every few weeks the proprietors travel to Mexico to pick up a load of sweets made specially for their store, along with a stockpile of popular Latin American chocolate candy brands like Carlos V and Nucita." - Cat Modlin-Jackson

Great selection of candies and Mexican goodies. From cookies to piñatas and chamoy. It's a bit cramped in there but nothing bad. Friendly staff/owner.

This little place has a ton of variety of authentic Mexican candies that are hard to find in other places. They also sell different flavored michelada mixes.

Super friendly, great customer service. We bought a piñata, and it was very good quality. She has very good designs with good prices. Muy buen servicio y bonitas piñatas.

Best Mexican Candy Shop (Dulceria Mexicana) in Houston. They also carry a selection of michelada drink mixes.

Went earlier today and the lady with the short curly hair has an ugly attitude needs to fix her face and learn how to talk to people. Bad customer service

You can find a plenty of different options of Mexican candies there

To expensive. Something is going on next door. There's a guy always watching outside walking back and fourth. Police need to be called there.

Yelp
A colorful gem! I visited Houston this past week from near San Antonio and the place that I enjoy going to for fun candies and Mexican treats is Alamo Candy Co, so I was very delighted to try something new! I was not disappointed! This place was so colorful, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. There was one person working the register while also setting up shop for the day and despite being busy we were still greeted with smiles and kindness. We spent $60 worth of candy and chips but I could've spent more from so much it had for such a small place. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Don't go here! they sell expired candy and try to cover the expiration date with the price tag.

Yelp
This was a very disappointing experience. Instagram hyped it up. The payment process was very confusing. They have a cash option and credit card option. The credit card option was an extra $5.00. My total for cash and my total for credit card, did not match. I regret not taking a photo.

Yelp
I've been coming to this location for some time now. I decided to go back yesterday and bought a couples of candies. I didn't look at the expiration dates on the bags since they have always sold good candy that is not expired and today I was putting away the candy and a few of my candy bags were expired. Be careful when y'all purchase from this location it seems like they are no longer keeping up with the expiration dates. I went back and the girl there told me that I could only exchange so I did and went back looking for that same candy and all of the candy that I went through was expired and I told her and she just ignored it and left all that expired candy there for sale. I went to look for a different type of candy at the same price of the one I got and I found a few more different candies expired.

Yelp
10/10 debit or cash. Reasonably priced and A LOT of options the entire store is amazing!

Yelp
I'll say this. I found a lot of candy I hadn't seen in years. If your looking for Mexican candy that's your place. Not super expensive either. Large bags for like 5-6$. And from what I overheard they make piñatas as well. They take card so that's a plus.

Yelp
I couldn't believe a place as such existed!!!! Can I just say that if I could've bought every single item there .. I would have! BUT ... flying back to Hawaii with 100 lbs of candy seemed kinda unrealistic. I could've shipped them back home ... I realize that now .. next visit to Texas!!! Walking in, you get a little overwhelmed with all the different selections they have there. And if you don't know what you're looking for, it will be worst for you. Suggestion? Make small talk with the guy (I forgot his name) behind the counter! He will help you!! Also, he was super nice! I had to come here to pick up a assortment for a friend back home. And although I already knew what to grab, I had doubts that he had even had any of these candies before as he had claimed lol. I remembered a lot of these from back in the day. And I looooove anything tamarind ... this place didn't fall short of it!!!!! They sell candies in bulk for wholesale prices .. so this would be a great place to go to pick up items for a party. They also have an assortment of games, invitations and decorations. The employee there was helpful and super nice! When he found out where I was from, he talked about how his sister came to Hawaii for her honeymoon :D Everything is moderately priced, they have helpful employees. They do take cash or card .. If you are buying items to take back home, I would suggest shipping them before you fly out. All that candy weighed my luggage down a bit lol .. I plan to go back again the next time I am in Texas. Please don't ever close down!!!!!! :))

Yelp
This place was a bit crowded for my taste but it offered a different selection of stuff you don't find anger else. The drive from the woodlands to here is worth it. The guy at the counter said everything was made in Mexico but one of the candies said it's from the USA. But a product of Mexican and we all know Mexican candy and American candy taste different just like American soda and Mexican soda

Yelp
Great place to find Mexican Candy! They have so much variety and this place brought back memories! The only thing that would make this a perfect 5 stars are the odd hours or short hours they have here. Other than that, if you're looking for some delicious candy, you can't pass this place up!

Yelp
Where have you been all my life? I found this hidden gem while touring and tasting on Airline. This Mexican candy and snacks shoppe had all the candies that took my back to my child hood but for WHOLESALE PRICES. I mean, don't get me wrong, there were some items there that you could by separately but this is totally the place to go for parties or Quinces where you are feeding a big group. This is also a great place to go if you are stuffing your pinatas! Loved it here..

Yelp
I've died and gone to a dulce heaven! This little shop is jam packed with ALL your favorite Mexican candy. Most of the candy is sold in bulk and is very reasonably priced (~$5 a bag/box). They also have a variety of decorations, invitations, and games for your next fiesta. There were two helpful employees that were quick to offer their assistance. One person spoke English/Spanish and the other person spoke only Español. Cash and cards accepted too.
