Las Golondrinas Mexican Food

Pretty good food and service. One of the better take out Mexican food places in the area. Prices have gone up, but I’m sure it’s to the cost of everything rising these days. Portions are good and food is seasoned well. Would recommend to friends.

The menu is well laid out. The burrito I had which was carnitas was freaking delicious and I regret sharing it with my wife... will get my own next time. The taco salad was a good option although I wouldn’t call it much of a “taco” other than the shell I suppose... but a healthy option more or less. The clerk was very friendly and the food came out quickly. Very much excited to go back. The guacamole looks incredible but I didn’t actually get any this time... next time for sure.

First visit, the counter staff is definitely surly. It’s located in a business center and was busy with local people. I had a carne asada burrito, it was just OK, nothing to write home about, prices average. I would suggest that El Molino de Oro (in SJC) is better.

The food was good and the workers were super friendly and nice but the owner Steve super rude to his workers and yelling at them in-front of customers and I felt very uncomfortable and awkward. I would not spend my money at a place that doesn’t respect and value their workers

Best Steak Taco Salad I've had in a long time! The meat had flavor and everything was simply fresh. It was delicious and totally satisfied my craving! My husband had the beef burrito platter and he enjoyed it very much. I totally recommend this restaurant!

It's s been a long time since I was at this particular location. This Restaurant only caters to Pick-up and To-Go Orders, therefore, Menu is limited, and Good Service is non-existent and attitude of the Woman at the Front Counter, is undesirable, unfriendly and not personable.

I bought tamales from the refrigerator and they were covered in mold. Theres no dates on that food and they dont rotate it enough. I dont trust this place anymore.

If you like Chile Verde don't order it here. Terribly salty. Every bite a fork full of salt. The beef/chicken flautas were great. The machaca burrito was just okay. Overall metza metz.

This place is my go-to for Mexican food! I eat here for my cheat meals once a week since it's close to my work, and despite having plenty of other options, I always choose this spot. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and courteous. The cashiers are always welcoming and make the experience even better. No matter what I order, the quality and flavors never disappoint. I also stop by for coffee a couple of times a week and to say hi--I truly love working so close to such an incredible establishment. I definitely recommend!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I came for the first time, based on a recommendation, ordered 5 tacos, a bag of chips, pint of guacamole, + 2 drinks.. it cost $62.50?!? I thought something was wrong but no.. they charged almost a $1/taco to add lettuce and an additional $1/taco for cheese and didn't even mention that while I was ordering.. so at that point I paid but I was expecting to get a lot more for that price.. and this is what came. The only thing that was worth a trip back was the guacamole but I can find that elsewhere with better customer service. There are so many other great places around this area to choose from with better seating, friendlier staff and better pricing. I can't believe lunch for 2 cost over $60 at a fast food place such as this. For that price I could've gone to Sol Agave with much better seating, had a nice meal and money left over.

I just went here for first time Feb 4 for carry out for myself , daughter & my grandkids! I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas w rice & beans plate! Not what I ordered at all? Unfortunately, she had it all bagged up so I didn't check it ! But what I ordered & what I got was not the same - a spicy chili releno & a shredded beef spicy enchilada? I'm a senior & I told her no spicy or hot pepper! The tasteless 2 tbl spoonfuls of beans & rice were not worth it either! And was pricy for a whole lot of nothing! Don't waste money on platters or combo plates ! So I don't understand why I got something totally different but I won't return! Very disappointed! My order for tacos for my grandkids was fine so I gave 2 stars ! Maria was nice but I never got the right order & portions are way too small & I'm not a big eater either! Maybe Taco Bell would have been better ?

Their mini burritos are always a hit at parties and events! The matcha a burritos are good and the new spicy lime chips are alway a great add-on.

When you approach this location it is like you are headed to a home kitchen in someone's apartment. I would never have known this place was here. But it is a full Mexican eatery with quite a menu and one heck of a huge kitchen. I serious this kitten was bigger than most big eateries by double! It was recommended by a local and thus the only way we knew it was there. But it is known... and busy! There is no where to sit and eat here accept a couple of tables outside. So most of the time it is taken to go I am sure. The menu is extensive but while I was here the thing to order was the burritos. That was what everyone was getting. You tell them what you a want in it and they stuff it in... wrap it up, and send you on your way with a 2lbs gargantuan monster of a burrito! Seriously it is a boat load of food. They skimp on nothing! Prices are extremely reasonable and the flavors are great! I had rice, lettuce, cheese, carne sada, corn, sour cream, red sauce and a side of "can someone help me carry this thing" when it was done. I mean it was stuffed beyond capacity. You want to know the sad thing... I ate it! Once I had a bite I couldn't stop! I ate it to the point of bursting. I mean I was so full it was like the guy in the Monty Python movie "the meaning of life"... I felt like I was going to explode! One more wafer thing anything and I have gone off like someone pulled the pin on my stomache! This is quite the find though... don't really expect to eat here though. There are like three wrought iron tables and they stay full. We managed to get a seat completely by luck but I think usually you eat leaning on your car. I mean you wouldn't want to let this get cold... right?

Kinda hard to find.. not gonna lie here but the food is delicious and there is a small outdoor seating area. Get the bunuelo chips as a treat they are fantastic!

Worst service ever !!!!! They took 30 minutes to give me 2 tacos !!!! Cashiers just talking and they never take care the clients !!!

Ordered 2 potato tacos Togo ...upon arrival they're ground beef...very hard to mistake those words... sweet lady kind of lies to me maybe thinking I'm stupid like I didn't order potato tacos deep fried 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday. Get the order...other cashier which is in knowledge of a messed up order since I made eye contact with him since he's the only other person that could have took the phone order, tells me that salsa is extra today since the taco special... very unprofessional work. I don't know who your clientele is, but I'm not stupid.

I've been going here for many years and always have a great experience. The food is always so delicious! I've tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is always friendly and speedy. I will always recommend Las Golondrinas.

I don't know why I keep going there hoping that they get my order right. It would be so nice to get what I pay for and for my order to be correct is it that hard? If you or want extra salsa or any other kind of accommodation, do not expect it to be get the opposite or the wrong item. Check your food before you leave this place.

Love their food its so fresh and so tasty! Love those Chili Lime chips. I have been looking at all the reviews and I guess you should check all the items before you leave other than that its a great place to get food.

Maybe I just need to try some other things from their menu, but what I ordered was a bit cold and bland. We ordered the taquitos and chile relleno with rice and beans. The taquitos came with guacamole which was great but they didn't have sour cream, cheese or any other toppings. I kept adding salsa to make them more flavorful. The chile relleno was pretty good- very cheesy and the sauce was tasty. The prices are reasonable. They have a few tables outside where you can eat. Also if they could have utensils that are a bit sturdier that would be amazing.. the plastic spoons kept bending when we used them.

Love the carnitas with the green sauce and mini bean and cheese burritos. More of a to go place very casual.

Los Golondrinas is my go-to place for Taco Tuesday. The tacos are half priced and delicious. I especially enjoy the fish tacos. The machaca and fitness special burritos are also very good.

Ordered from their google website. Party pack is $96 however when I went to pay it was $320 for 2 party pack for 10 people. ! Ask for the manager and said that those were not their prices! My total bill was $769.03. Never ordering from them again after 20 years! There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in this town!! Total rip off!!

The reviews online are stupid. This place is awesome, tasty, and very affordable. Largest tacos by weight in Southern California. I challenge you to find anything better than they're pulled. Pork carnitas Taco

Great take out place! Can order ahead for pickup. Recommend Chile verde, chicken mole, carnitas, guacamole... well, I've never been disappointed be anything here! They do have a few tables outside, but you're looking at a parking lot. There is a park down the street which is a lot better.

Have not been to this place in many years, but tried it again today. Very disappointing for sure. It's as if my two enchilada and rice and beans plate were simply over cooked in the microwave. The to go container was very hot and the enchiladas were like soup with extremely melted cheese. Unfortunately I had a couple bites and threw it away, it was that sad. My wife's bean and cheese burrito was sub par also and that made its way to the same ending (trash can) we are both born and raised native Californians and know our way around Mexican food. Sad to say This is easily one of the worst places and experiences we have had.

This was not my first rodeo at los Golondrinas, but it might be the last because I'm overjoyed and overwhelmed with gratitude. Upon receiving my quesadilla with Carnitas, the beautiful waft of delicious smell floated up into my nose. It was almost like something out of a cartoon. I hungrily opened the bag and took out my side of sour cream, which was probably the most delectable thing I ate today. I inspected the quesadilla, and I noticed that they had took it upon themselves to add green salsa into it, which was kind of sad, but I still ate it, and it was delicious. The service was nice and fast and I got my meal in about 5 minutes, even though it was crowded as a mofo. I would definitely recommend this amazing Restaurant, and there's a beautiful courtyard with a nice fountain to sit with your lads around and munch.

No wonder this place has 3 stars. This place is sloppy on all levels....there workers, the way they package the food, and the overall food at this location is greasy bad. Save yourself from cafeteria sloppy food and people with unfriendly faces. So much different from the one in mission viejo.

This place is my absolute favorite go to when I'm in town. My family has been going here for years and I bring any friends when visiting as well. I think they are the best deal for taco Tuesday as they are now $2 a taco (versus half price like back in the day). I've had just about everything on the menu by my go to tacos are the crispy ground beef, crispy shredded beef, fish taco, breakfast (egg, potato, and red salsa), and mole. Their chips quac and salsa are always super good to snag for big groups. Also their taquitos are a staple for any SJC group event! This place is a true local gem!

I always get the bean and cheese burrito. Their tortillas are the absolute best! I have tried their carne tacos as well as their carne asada burrito and both are amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful. They sell their tamales and tortillas on their cold section and we always get some!!

So my wife and I ate at LG yesterday, 1/27/24. The best thing about the meal was sitting outside on a warm day. I'll start with the reason we went there...tacos. We ordered 2 and 1 in our meals. My wife noticed it first and asked why her taco was cold. The tin foil wrapper was icy. Mine were cold as well. Who in the heck serves refrigerator cold tacos?? The shredded beef was lukewarm. What a disappointment! The refried beans were warm, the rice was less warm and very bland. Thank goodness, the Pepsi was good. In closing, if you like your food cold, Las Golondrinas on a Saturday for lunch is your kinda place. For me? Never again!

This food is crazy fire. So delicious!! The flautas were perfect. Light and crispy. Chicken wasn't dry. And the chicken mole burrito was delicious!! Great spot. Best in SJC for us so far.

I love their bean and cheese burritos and cheese quesadillas. I need to try more food items!! oh, of course they're chips, salsa and guacamole are great!

Favs: bean, cheese and salsa burrito, carnitas tacos, chicken or beef fajita tacos and salsa verde tacos. The food is pretty authentic and worth the wait. Tip: call the order in and save yourself some time.

This place is disgusting!!!! We previously have enjoyed their Mexican food. We ordered 2 carnitas burritos to go and one was some kind of chopped dog food looking thing!!! It was so gross! I took a bite and felt sick for a day! The other burrito looked like pork but was tough meat and tasted weird. I do Not get food here! I'm so grossed out! Honestly, something is vey off here, I do not recommend it at all!!! They are also stingy on salsa

Today on Thursday February 16, 2023 I went to your store in San Juan Capistrano. I ordered some food and it was not busy at the time I order my food and it took over 15 minutes just to have the same cooks when it was totally dead inside or there. I've been in there when it's busy and I seen what they could do and I've been in there when it's dead and I could get my food out a lot quicker than 15 or 20 minutes or more just for one item that I ordered I'm just gonna give you the two star it's just for the service only for cooking and all that

I love their carne asada burritos this place is consistent you can always count in a good meal

Las Gol is a standard favorite. Easy. Affordable. Mini burritos are always an easy yum but their fajitas chicken burrito is bomb. Love this place

Whoever shed the blood, sweat, and tears to build the Las Golondrinas name cannot be proud of what this place has become today. I visited Las Golondrinas for the last time tonight. I will start with the service at their walk-up counter. No warm welcome, smile, greeting, or any feeling of welcome by the employees to the customers. The person behind the counter was annoyed and inconvenienced by having to take our order. The attitude was beyond rude. There were 2 other customers waiting in the shop and they received horrible service as well. When we were exiting the restaurant, one of the cashiers was coming back in and did not stop to let the customer leave first, which is common courtesy. Instead, he barrelled through the door, almost knocking my daughter over as we approached the exit. Shocking but consistent with the culture. This is the 3rd time that I have experienced this type of service in the last 6 months. My family has been patronizing Las Golondrinas since the '80s. It has never been like this. Unfortunately, the food is no longer what it once was either. It was terrible. I can think of at least 5 competitors within the immediate area that provides excellent service, fair prices, and good food. Sadly, I'd rather eat at Del Taco but for roughly the same price, I can go to Lupe's and get incredible service and excellent food. As a Dana Point local of almost 50 years, I will be sharing this experience with everyone I know. I hope that Las Golondrinas cares enough for its customers to take these reviews seriously.

Las Golondrinas is located only a few hundred steps away from my school and I am so very happy for that. It was so pleasant walking over getting to hear the occasional sound of the cars rushing buy and then the peaceful sound of the water fountain as I sat on the nice metal chairs. I had a spectacular meal sitting out on the courtyard. To drink I purchased a sidral. The crack of the cap coming off was music to my ears and I felt so very refreshed as I poured the drink down. I accidentally grabbed the bag the wrong way and I messed up the appearance of my tostada but the taste was just as amazing. The tostada was perfectly crunchy and the lettuce and tomatoes were so fresh and delightful. I had a great time and an amazing meal and I was treated so well and with so much kindness. I will definitely be coming again!!!

At 3 stars, this place is accurately rated. Nothing special. Definitely don't go out of your way to come here. But if you're in the area and need to eat, it will get the job done. For those with larger appetites, the standard breakfast burrito will leave you unsatisfied. So plan accordingly.

Given this business and this location so much business over the years from big catering orders to eating take out often. Also get mixed service here as well for messing up orders to not having orders ready on time. Today I waited for my order for 45 minutes and they did not add on my second item... you'd think they would work hard to correct it but I waited so long for that burrito I had to leave without it!! Asked for a credit and she told me I had to wait for that. Very sad to say goodbye to Los Gol for my Mexican Food ordering but I'm done with bad service all around.

We've had Las Golondrinas at various birthday parties before and we loved it so much we decided to have dinner there. Their crispy chicken tacos were delicious and their bean and cheese burritos are my absolute favorite. I also got the enchiladas which was a little too salty but still good. We got food to-go and although I thought I was holding it straight, all the juices leaked out and stained my pants. This won't stop us from going back for more burritos though!

Great food but SLOW. If they tell you 10 minutes, that means 25. If they tell you 25 minutes over the phone, it's more like 50. Just be prepared bc there is no exigency to get the food out to you.

oh my gosh this was horrible..august 15th about 4 pm...i really was excited about this place such a huge menu and such great prices...we went for taco tuesday and the two girls at the counter were so very rude it was disturbing. i had potato tacos that were huge but everything in it looked gray and had not one bit of flavor. my friend ordered chicken tacos and we had no idea what in the world was in that corn tortilla smothered in so much sauce it was running out of the wrapper and she didnt even taste it...just threw it in the trash. they are right next door to a brewery which promotes the restaurant with menues and an invite to go get their food and bring it to the brewery...which i thought was great and almost every person who came to the brewery had a giant back of mexican food...i swear the brewery must be keeping that restaurant in business and i sure hope they get a cut of my wasted money. and by the way the brewery is awesome and quite the opposite...everyone so friendly and helpful and the beer delicious!

Food is good but others are too out this way. The salsa upsell has gotten out of hand. if you order 10 items or 1 you'll still only get 2 tiny salsas "free". Two per order no exceptions. You'll need to buy a tub of salsa separately from them....so Lupe's it is!

I been eating here from a young kid did taste good and 17.80 for three taquitos and two tacos rip off ! Over price

Not wowed by any of the food here. The tacos, tamales and burritos were horrible. Tamales soggy, and the meats inside just poor quality. Service was fine, prices fair and not much of a wait, but the food was just not something I would come back for. I didn't care for the beef or the chicken, nothing stood out as me wanting to have it again. Pass on coming back.

The food here is legit Mexican food. If you want that taste of Mexico that sticks with you all day, this is the place. If you're looking for fancy and frilly service, move on. It's all business here and in my opinion it's worth it. I had the carne asada nachos and a fish taco. The fish taco was fried, crunchy, and sweet sauce to hit just right. The nachos were swimming in cheese just the way they should be. Next time I'll order an extra bag of chips as there is plenty of toppings and when you get to the bottom bring a spoon to finish an the dredges of goodness. Id give this place 5 stars if the did smoke once in a while and had more places to sit and eat.

First time coming to this place and food was pretty good and not pricy at all! I ordered the taquitos with rice and beans they were pretty flavorful the only downside for me was that they were plain no sour cream lettuce or any toppings. It came with guacamole on the side which was also good it was just missing some spice to it. Good food for sure though.

Very disappointed. We have been coming here for years. First thing the young man behind the counter just stood there looking at you. The gal had to say oh he can help you before he moved. When asked to put the guacamole for my taquitos in a cup (since we were driving an hour home) he said , oh we have to charge you. Just to place it in a cup they wanted 1.00. Very rude, the typical spoiled young brats. As he continued to just stand there he was on his phone the entire time. Where is the boss! Customer service has just gone down hill. We won't be coming back!!

Our family loves this restaurant! Great food, friendly and helpful staff. Everything we order is delicious the taquitos and enchiladas are amazing.

This is by far the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. The staff is not friendly at all and the food tastes like yesterdays leftovers. I ordered a carne asada burrito and got a big fat mess loaded with government cheese and refried beans that tasted like they were microwaved. That old saying where's the beef comes to mind because I didn't taste any meat in the burrito, just tons of refried beans and cheese. As I ordered my meal the staff looked like they were overworked and underpaid, which explains why the food is so bad. If you want real Mexican food go to Xclusive Taqueria Moderna in Ladera Ranch. They won't disappoint and you won't be left with a heavy lump in your stomach all day after eating the horrible burrito from las golondrinas, a huge disaster of a Mexican restaurant.

Nothing special. Probably not worth it, if you are not close by,....or... may not be, even if you are close by. Sorry... To be fair: I did see a lot of people buying chips only from here. I asked a customer and said that they love the chips from here. Little did I realize till later, she left with just a bag of chips.

The food is great but can't say the same about the help or customer service. Young ladies wearing pajamas. No one looks you in the eyes. All around awful customer service.
