"You can’t miss Las Maracas — this bright yellow bungalow in East Nash also has a covered patio that’s perfect for enjoying chorizo dip, enchiladas, chicken tortilla soup, and “margaronas” (that’s a margarita with a bottle of Corona tipped precariously on the edge of the glass) on a sunny Cinco de Mayo or on a crisp fall day. If booze isn’t your thing, go for one of Las Maracas' aqua frescas — you’ll find horchata, mango, tamarind, and guayaba on the menu." - Clara Wang, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Yelp
New to Nashville & needed a new place to try Mexican food wise. Saw this place packed on a weekend & wanted to investigate. Went for a Sunday lunch & daaaaang, was it good! Great options & friendly staff. Nice big booths & patio seating as well. Food was excellent, will be back

Yelp
This is my go to Mexican restaurant in East. Fast service and reasonable prices. Go there for lunch once a week

Yelp
What in the world! My husband and daughter went out late the other night for some Taco Bell... we wanted something fast and cheap. He then drove by Las Maracas and decided to give it a try. Can I say the prices were equal or similar to Taco Bell, but much much better!? This isn't the best food you'll ever taste, but it IS really good and 100% better than Taco Bell. You really can't beat the prices! We grabbed food right before they closed and it came out pretty fast. The chips and salsa were great. I got red chicken enchiladas (which I don't like and husband forgot ) but could actually eat these. The quesadilla and rice/beans were reallyyy good! My husband got fajitas with rice/beans and really enjoyed it as well. Service was good. I didn't see the location so can't provide input on ambience. But super affordable and great place to eat!

Yelp
I had dinner here recently with my cousin and her family while I was in town visiting them. The food was really good and the service was fine. Its definitely a hole in the wall place. We sat in the side room and the tables were a bit smushed together. They had good chips and salsa. I had the shrimp fajitas with onions and tomatoes, no peppers. Overall I really liked the fajitas. Good rice and beans on the side. Lots of shrimp and veggies. I think I got three tortillas. My cousin and her husband both liked their meals as well. Their son did not like the ground beef in his taco salad but overall we had a good meal. Service was decent. Lots of drink refills and checking on us.

Yelp
We have been going here for years but I recently noticed the menu has changed a lot of the food names (dishes) along w/ drinks that we used to get are called the same name but are presented in a different way along with the price increase. So the least that I could do is take pictures of the new menu along with the new prices and post it for you all!

Yelp
I really like the vibe and friendly environment. I had a beer at the bar as I waited for my takeout, great service all around. I did ask for veggies instead of beans and rice and the cashier mentioned a salad-cool. I only found the regular lettuce and toppings that come with the fajita meal. Maybe there was a miscommunication. Anywho, it was a nice portion, good condiments and quite tasty.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating and a perfect day for a margarita! The service is good, delicious large servings of food and yummy margaritas are what you can expect when you eat here! My chili poblano was great! Easy free parking!

Bailey W.

Yelp
This is my favorite place ever. I literally go about once a week! Food, drinks, and staff are all great!

Gail F.

Yelp
This restaurant was absolutely amazing! I am so glad we didn't trust the marginal reviews. My daughter had eaten here before and said it was fantastic! Food, service, and ambiance were all fabulous!

Yelp
Ordered from Uber Eats. Less than 2 miles away. Delivery was fast but food was already cold. Ate 2 bites and threw the rest away. GROSS.. very low quality

Yelp
I was Driving down Gallatin when I got the insatiable urge for a Michelada. Through my peripherals I saw the las Maracas bright sign and promptly flipped a U-E , and parked on the street next-door. Pro tip, don't park right next to it...there are red signs that say no parking for Las Maracas patrons. I was immediately served chips and salsa. The chips were honestly kind of meh, I'm a big fan of really thin, crispy hot chips. (These were not hot nor thin) The salsa lacked spice, but I was able to add more zing with the hot sauces in the table caddies. I also ordered a Michelada and was pleasantly surprised by the size of it. It definitely needed more Clamato though. And then, onto the main course. I ordered the spicy shrimp tacos with avocado. They were...just okay. The shrimp were really juicy and well seasoned but then got buried under the lettuce slaw thing of sorts that was also added to the tacos. The red sauce that comes with this can also come off as bitter if you're not used to that kind of spice. All in all, if you want a monster red beer...come here.

Yelp
Tortilla chips too thick and tasted old. When we said something to our waiter we were told all chips are the same. Three of us in our party and one of us did not get their fajitas despite us asking the waiter about it twice where he brushed us off and said they are coming. Food I'd not arrive until the other two in our party were finished eating. When we said something to the waiter he could only roll his eyes at us. When we asked for the check he was very apologetic but it was too little too late. So we only gave a $12.00 tip. We won't be coming back!

Yelp
I have ate here 10 times+ in a year and almost every time it is extremely average or bad. Carne asada tacos are horrible EVERY time. Some servers are great and the patio is nice in the summer. But food needs major help.

Lucy T.

Yelp
This place was pretty decent! My friend Allie and I ate here for dinner. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but the food was delicious! We shared their chips, salsa, and cheese dip which were delicious. As my entree, I ordered the steak quesadilla grill rellena. There was lots of steak and cheese! The rice was super tasty too. Service was also good.

Eboni J.

Yelp
ask for my food well done ... cooked some more and so he brought it out burnt!!! stick to las palmas because these mf rude as hell

Kristy T.

Yelp
Went to eat here on a date and right after we go our chips and dip we saw a roach crawling on the wall in the booth we were sitting in. We said something to the waiters walking around us but no one did anything till it was on the wall behind us then finally our waiter walks up and takes a napkin and squishes it on the wall and let it drop of the ground without picking it up. It was really uncomfortable and not reassuring at all. Won't be going back here ever. They have good food but when the place is infested the food no longer matters.

Yelp
i love this restaurant but i had the beef enchiladas and had the WORST food poisoning of my life. i'm talking liquids coming out of both ends for a week.

Chicoya G.

Yelp
The food was decent Mexican food. Service was great and food came out fast. Server was awesome.

Ebony B.

Yelp
My usual Mexican spot was too far for what we felt like driving at the moment...so I had driven past this place many times and who doesn't love a good taco and marg???? Well they do! The food...nope... soggy and no flavor. We had gotten a quesadilla as well. Any place we've gotten this from you get some "fixins" i.e. cheese, lettuce something. Nope just a lil ole quesadila not closed. We asked for the steak to be medium, it was an overcooked junks of meat. The pitcher of top shelf marg, at $35, was a complete waste of money. It was disgusting. We got mango and strawberry mixed. The mix tasted like straight tang and lil to no alcohol. Abysmal. I kindly told waitress and she came back and said they couldn't take it back, but could "fix" it. Ummmmm ok. Brought it back...still disgusting and still hardly any top shelf in it. They should have removed from ticket, period. The only good thing about out visit was the wait staff. Ww were immediately greeted with warm smiles and out waitress was extremely personable and sweet. But, we will not be back. A big waste of money and left hungry and sober. Ugh.

Yelp
First time here !!! SERVICE WAS AMAZING THERE FAJITas!!!!! Awesome also had there fried ice cream!!! Fantastic

Lindsay O.

Yelp
I love going to Las Maracas! They are quick and efficient. Food is yummy! They're friendly!

Eugenia W.

Yelp
good service amd food margaritas where cold and the food was served hot....what more can you ask for

Roderick A.

Yelp
They charged $15 for a veggie burrito so yeah...they also don't have a veggie burrito so when you have to custom order a veggie burrito it will be $15...so yeah.

Courtney S.

Yelp
The food was great. The server didn't really understand our questions but he brought us our food timely. We had fajita nachos, regular fajitas, and tacos. Also we had the margaritas. My margaritas weren't great but they had tequila so that's fun lol. Overall we had a lovely time at Las Maracas.

Zuzana B.

Yelp
Great margs and food for a great price! The staff is friendly and provide great service. The outdoor covered patio ambiance is fun and perfect for the summer. Looking forward to going back soon!

Valencia S.

Yelp
The service was horrible! We had to wait at least 30 minutes for waters and once we asked the server (Carlos) if he was going to bring the beverages, he answered "I'm not your server". If service is an important factor, I would strongly urge you not to come to this establishment. The servers are so aloof and unconcerned with their customer base. Also, the food is subpar. There are greater food options in the East Nashville area.

Destiny H.

Yelp
My friends and I were in need of some quick-basic food & drinks so we chose this place because it was open later than others & closer to where we were staying. I'm trying to remain unbiased because I didn't feel well when we went here and they could have been understaffed. However, it took a veryyyy long time to even get our basic drinks and longer to get margaritas. FYI if you're here the frozen are much better than one on the rocks. The food took quite a while & was pretty basic. Nothing surprising. They also closed the restaurant an hour early while we were there. The staff was nice but just don't expect something special when you go.

Gina T.

Yelp
Pretty good Mexican food especially for the price. Pretty good margaritas too. Not the greatest food but still a solid selection.

Erin P.

Yelp
I used to love this place, but after our experience tonight, I'm pretty sure I'll never eat here again. The chicken quesadilla was fairly okay, but had hardly any cheese and they hadn't trimmed the chicken, so it was hard to eat. The chips, salsa, and queso were definitely all store bought and generally not great. The real deal breaker was the shrimp chimichanga... the shrimp was quite possibly the grossest thing I've ever seen. Our best guess for how it was cooked is possibly steamed... which is the most disgusting possible way I can imagine cooking shrimp. The beans were weirdly slimy. The rice was dryyyyyy. Like, drink a whole glass of water to be able to swallow one bite of the rice dry. It was a serious disappointment, and now we're just hoping it doesn't make us sick.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've had since moving from California, which I missed! Highly recommend!

Isaac C.

Yelp
This restaurant underpays and overworks children... yikes. Have fun with those civil penalties! Glad to know those kids are getting compensated though. Hit funny, cool, or helpful if you're against this type of business operation and want to support those kids and people abused for their work and time.

Jared C.

Yelp
I literally vomited after leaving the restaurant. I ordered chili rellenos and they weren't fried but steamed, had no cheese filling and were covered in eggs. I also ordered a traditional margarita and received a sweet fruit drink with seemingly no alcohol. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant experience I've had in Nashville.

Jasmin S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant! It's my favorite Mexican place in Madison! Service is always great! Their flavored margaritas keep me always coming back. I highly recommend trying the peach and strawberry ones! I like my drinks strong and they make them perfect every time. Alcohol packed and full of flavor!

Yelp
If I could give a negative star review I would. My husband was cursed out from an employee AND made to pay twice for our order....AND we got the wrong food twice. Let me explain... We just had a baby 4 days ago so we decided to order food using door dash. The door dash guy dropped off the wrong order, honestly that happens and I wasn't upset. I called Las Maracas and said, "hey we got the wrong order do you still have ours? Can my husband come pick it up?" I confirmed the order literally telling the lady each item we ordered, told my name and hubby was on his way to get it! Great! I had already paid through door dash. When my husband arrived the employee cursed out (yes, he literally cursed him out) my husband and made him pay again. To makes matters worse, when he got home they gave us a small queso (we paid for a large) and left out a vegetarian combo (which we paid for). Yikes. Remember the part where I said I had a baby 4 days ago. Nothing like being totally sleep deprived and just trying to bring home your nursing baby momma some mexican food to be cursed out, made to pay twice and get the wrong food.... TWICE. I honestly don't have the energy to call them and ask for a refund. Def. not in the mood for a phone fight over some sh*tty mexican food. If they are going to treat my husband like sh*t in person why would they honor us with a refund or even apology over the phone? I would take your business down to El Fuego! This is where we normally go and the owner Jose is a freaking rockstar gentleman!! Stay away from this place and head down to El Fuego a little further down Gallatin.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Tony was a fabulous server and the homemade salsa. Def one of the top cheese dips too! Great patio as well! Visiting from ATL.

Redbird J.

Yelp
So I had a couple of hours to waste and I thought this place would be perfect. I love Mexican food and my little date loves chips and salsa..... so here,a what I liked: the patio was nice, roomy and clean Prompt service Food came out fast although and hot DISLIKES: My avocado was missing from my plate (it came standard with what I ordered) My shrimp were tough and over cooked I ordered a side of guacamole and it was the smallest size I have ever received for price and it was just puréed avocado no seasoning no tomato and no onion no other flavoring. Disappointed. Because my dinner date was under the age of two I said that they would share my dream and I was probably told I would only be able to get one refill because I was sharing. Now by the time I finished my dinner, the place was crowded so I'm sure there has to be some other really great items on the menu but as for me I will not be returning.

Anna P.

Yelp
We ordered takeout for 7 people. They almost got it right. They left off 1 persons order. But the food was delicious!! We will definitely eat again maybe next time go in!!

Bobbie R.

Yelp
The first thing that caught my eye was health score 100 This place is very consistant with great taste & price. I keep trying others but these are #1 I'm nearly 70 yrs EAST TRASHVILLE so I've SEEN & tasted a lot. I call this place the Orange building.

Elleen P.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant last night and we ordered a pitcher of margaritas for $35 and we had to question if we received the correct one as they were terrible. They did bring some Gran Gala or Gran Mariner which made them taste better but still not worth the price. Food was ok but nothing special. The biggest problem was they said they closed at 10:00 but at 9:25 they turned the bright lights on as though they were closing. We felt we were very rushed to leave as well as other tables. Bottom line I do t think we will be back.

John T.

Yelp
Too loud for my taste, and the food wasn't spicy enough for Mexican. I like my Mexican to have more flavor. Families seem to love it here. Lots of birthday parties happening the Sunday I went. All in all it was OK but I wouldn't drive to the other side of town to eat there.

Annie L.

Yelp
Great experience at Las Maracas. Favorite authentic Mexican food in east nashville. Friendly employees and love the vibe inside. Also thank you for your "service dogs only, no pets" sign and for making our visit a peaceful one.

Caroline W.

Yelp
Just your average neighborhood Mexican spot. Margaritas are always good and so is the service!

Mae R.

Yelp
My family has been coming here for several years and the food and service is always great. Solid portions for the price and it's generally consistent in taste. We will keep coming back as long as this joint is around.

Rose W.

Yelp
I was invited to this place and I didn't enjoy it. The customer service was not the friendliest and the food was terrible. The place looks pretty old but overall clean. The Taco was alright but the meat tasted like vomit. I couldn't finish my meal. I do not recommend this place..

Rhonda E.

Yelp
The food was definitely quite good here but it was really the service that I was most impressed by. We were a very hungry and weary group of seven when we arrived with lots of questions because of dietary challenges and they could not have handled us better even willing to pull tables together in an unconventional configuration to accommodate us. They have a special deal on margaritas and kept the chips and yummy salsa coming. The only disappointment was the guacamole which was a bit frothy and didn't get eaten. I ordered something off the children's menu which they allow for just an up charge another thing I really appreciated.

Katie C.

Yelp
went here on a friday night with a party of 8 and definitely expected a wait but there wasn't one!! super amazing staff we got our drinks and food so quickly and our server was so kind :-) we will definitely be back!!

Pete S.

Yelp
Food was delivered without a plate. Server never came once to check if I needed anything (which, obviously, I did) after taking my order. Had to flag him down to even get my check when I needed leave. And then he hung on to my card while making multiple trips in and out of the kitchen before I could sign for it. On top of that, the fajitas and margarita were both subpar. Much better options in Nashville than this.

Melissa S.

Yelp
I am spoiled living near Detroit so close to authentic Mexican food in Mexicantown and several other fantastic spots through the suburbs, but this place makes me weep for the citizens of the Nashville area... You just don't know any better? I've had better Mexican out of the freezer section of a grocery store. This place makes Taco Bell taste authentic in comparison. I'll grant one star for the great service and another since the portion sizes and cost ratio are appealing. However, no horchata? No tres leches? No bueno!

Sean And Tiara T.

Yelp
Fantastic experience!! Great service with a smile (even though under a mask ) great prices and the amount of food! Wow! Love this place! Definitely coming back!

Aaron T.

Yelp
The food was good and proportionate. We had good table service. The waiter refilled our drinks regularly, he made convo and gave opinions on food selection. There was six of us and they were patient even after we were done eating and just talked for another 20 mins
