Our visit started off really well. The atmosphere was nice, and our server was absolutely wonderful — very sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. A gentleman, who I believe was the owner, also came around to check on guests, which I really appreciated.
However, things took a disappointing turn when my boyfriend joined us and ordered the chicken and cheese quesadillas. After just a few bites, he pulled a strand of hair from his mouth. Naturally, this was upsetting. We immediately notified our server, who handled the situation perfectly and apologized sincerely.
Unfortunately, the way the issue was handled by the other staff members was not as professional. Another woman came over and made it seem as though my boyfriend wasn’t being truthful, saying there were no women working in the kitchen — which, in my opinion, doesn’t really matter. The chef then came out and more or less said the same thing, stating there wasn’t anything they could do.
We made it clear we weren’t looking for a free meal; we had already ordered plenty and were happy to pay our tab. But when a customer brings a concern to your attention, it’s important to handle it with empathy and respect, not defensiveness. They did remove the item from our bill, which we appreciated, but the interaction felt dismissive and unnecessary.
Overall, the food was good, the drinks could have been a bit stronger, and our server truly went above and beyond. From a business standpoint, the restaurant has a lot of potential — but customer service training for certain staff members would really help ensure all guests feel respected and valued.
