"Don’t expect restraint at any San Antonio snack shop, least of all from this Beacon Hill spot. There are eight kinds of ice cream, more than a dozen Italian ices, and an eye-popping array of toppings, all of which can be melded in endless combinations. One’s personal screwball creation may be upstaged by some of the city’s oddball classics like chicharrones drowned in Valentina hot sauce and the Piccadilly, an alchemy of cherry Kool-Aid and pickle juice. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are outdoor dine-in areas." - Brandon Watson

Google
Great Italian ice, taste like ice cream. Corn only ok, everything else excellent. Lots of parking. Mangonada not great, get mango loco ice instead.

Google
Not sure if it lives up to the hype. Ordered a banana split and a chango and they were both just okay. Chango had way too much chamoy and not enough lime and the ice cream had freezer burn. Okay place to bring the kids all in all though but way too busy for what it is.

Google
A must for anyone coming to San Antonio ! They have a variety of Mexican snacks and the quality of everything was excellent 👌They accept card

This place is really fantastic 🌟 for a quick and inexpensive snack in the summer time 😎🌞 (or really, for any time of the year) 🙂🙃! My sister introduced this gem 💎 of a place to me this past June 😃! We got the fruit cups 🍉 🍓 🥭 and the corn 🌽 in a cup, which were very refreshing 😋 on a hot summer day 😃! Absolutely dee-lish 😋! There is plenty of parking and plenty of seating, which allows for a really casual ambiance. There are even miniature chairs and tables for kids 🙂! The employees are really friendly, courteous and helpful 😃! We will definitely come back for more 😋!

Google
I've been here a couple of times and enjoyed the service. Kinda fast even though it gets packed. The Italian ice tastes so good.

Google
These nieves taste so good. I tried the chamoy nieve and it was good but trying for the first time it was too tartie, I preferred the coconut nieve and the mango nieve. Overall it’s a great place to have a good treat.

Must try Italian ice cream.

It's been a long, long while since our first visit and Las Nieves has grown - looks like they have expanded to locations at Thousand Oaks and Blanco and there are so many options to cool you off on a hot day! The one initial downside was the long line that didn't seem to move for a while. They now have Italian ice which was more like a sorbet texture. That's what my husband and I both got. Glad to know that you can have 2 flavors in a medium so I got the pina colada and mango. My husband got the mango and cherry. Mango had bits of fresh mango and the pina colada had bits of coconut. Very refreshing! Was most definitely worth the wait! There's a bunch of picnic tables under a canopy for people to enjoy their desserts. I was curious about the raspa with ice cream so we'll definitely have to go back. It's cool that they also bring the desserts to your party.

Yelp
This place is amazing! We loved it! Kids family and friends. They had nice tables covered from sun to enjoy your nice ice cold treats or head over to your car. I think bc bees are attracted to the goodies we ran to the car NR but almost. Also the line structure was a bit confusing not sure who goes first and what window to go to, I think someone cutted in front of us bc they called someone and we didn't see that window open and they ran to it. Not cool. However we were patient and waited. We don't need to argue over ice cream guys. I'm only rating them 3 stars due to this or else they be a 4 star. We would definitely return next time we are in San Antonio! If your near here definitely make a stop you won't be disappointed

Yelp
GOLDEN. This place is absolutely my favorite place to get Mexican snacks in San Antonio. They have multiple locations but this one is the B E S T. They have multiple parking spots and I've never had an issue finding one, despite how long the line can become on some days. The best way to describe the ordering process is to describe a shack. Seating is outside, you order your snacks at one of the 3 windows and once you are done receiving and paying -- you have the ability to sit at one of the tables under a shaded area. Fear not, just like parking, there are a copious amount of seats/tables. I've been coming here for 2+ years and I haven't been let down yet. I've tried multiple items from the menu just for the heck of it and my taste buds are always ready for more. Our usuals are corn in a cup (3 limes please!), cucumber lime agua fresca, and a strawberry shake. There is something on the menu for EVERYONE. Our littles love the ice cream cones and the raspas BITE. Horchata, chuppacabras, and so MANY other items do not fail to hit the spot. Las Nieves does offer one FREE mangonada on your date of birth with a valid ID. I haven't had this pleasure since I'm a holiday baby, but for all the other folks -- might add this to your list for "birthday freebies" CLOSED ON MONDAYS, but I mean, everyone needs a break, yes?

Yelp
service was so fast and easy! High recommend batman muy rico! also agua de melón 2 die 4!!! this boom boom paleta 2 die 4. Classic vibes with alot of parking so COME AND GET LOCO 4 snacks

Jacquelyn C.

Yelp
I love italian ice and this place did not disappoint. The flavors all taste like real fruit and is super refreshing. The small is pretty filling on its own, so definitely share!

Lauren B.

Yelp
This place was bomb! visited this spot with my brother and some friends. It's a small spot that offers outdoor seating with Mexican inspired treats and ice creams. From paletas to hot Cheetos and cheese, to corn in a cup, to Raspas. All delicious! I had the chupacabra raspa, which is tangy and spicy, and the hot Tostitos with cheese. My girls all chose ice cream of course, which let me tell you, they have a HUGE ice cream selection. Most items are under $5 so you can really go crazy ordering off the menu. Lots of pretty plants and greenery to sit and enjoy your snacks. Highly recommend, very friendly staff.

Yelp
They are good but the prices on gallon shaved ice are high. I buy them at other places for $8 cheaper!!!

Yelp
Ordered a delicious Mangonada and a Coconut Italian. There is a dining are very nice and comfortable. Service was good and prices are reasonable.

Janell L.

Yelp
I always feel bad pulling into places that are less than an hour away from closing, but I was having a craving I could not kick. Right off the bat, I'm greeted with amazing and fast service. I ordered myself a large elote to share with my boyfriend. The man behind the counter prepared it and dressed it perfectly to my liking, and he did the same with my fruit cup! The fruit was extremely fresh and it was so refreshing to eat, the mango is AMAZING from here. The elote was equally if not more delicious, I dressed it with lime, valentina, and chile powder! This will definitely be my go to fruteria.

Hongsuk S.

Yelp
Dropped by a late Saturday afternoon and there was already a line. Line moves a bit slow but totally worth it. Menu is on the wall with tons of items so the slow moving line actually worked in my favor. Italian Ice Large - $4.50 Got a strawberry and a mango with chamoy and lucas. Both were fabulous in flavor and cheap for the quantity/quality. Wasn't too sweet, didn't taste artificial, and super refreshing and flavorful on a hot day. Corn in a Cup Large - $4.50 Corn was filled to the brim with corn, cheese, mayo, and they give you the option to add in lucas, lime, and a spicy mixture. Great flavor with everything you'd expect on an Elote. I appreciated finding a second layer of cheese and mayo halfway down the Styrofoam cup so that it wasn't just the first few inches that had the extra stuff with the corn. Had a great snack with both sweet and savory options. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Las Nieves is San Antonio at its very finest! Everything is wonderful and affordable and it's the most San Antonio vibe ever, in the best way!

Carolina E.

Yelp
Great prices, large portions and nice selection of fruits, fruit ice and the banana split looked like an art piece! Their packaging is transport friendly and they serve very efficiently. They have 3 different locations which is great. The corn in a cup is full of flavors that dance on your tongue and you can add Chile if it's not picoso enough. They have Aguas frescos too and I was tempted on the hot day to try several flavors of the Italian ice! Definitely will be back.

Jessica H.

Yelp
I visited this place twice in one day while visiting San Antonio, if that gives you an idea of how great it is! It's definitely a hole in the wall, but the sweets are delicious. My first trip, I tried the mangonada which seemed like mango Italian ice topped with chamoy syrup and tajin- so delicious! My second trip, I got a fruit cup with strawberries and coconut (my mom got the mango fruit cup) and we asked for all the fixings, so chamoy, tajin and fresh lime juice. The server had a heavy hand with the fixings so every bite was a trip to flavortown. Don't miss this if you visit San Antonio!

Sierra S.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I went to UIW. The freshest agua Fresca. Corn in a cup is always so creamy and spicy The hot Cheetos and queso is the way to my heart James liked the strawberries and cream

Em J.

Yelp
I had the lime agua fresca. It was so refreshing for the summer. Service is fast and friendly. Tables and seatings are outdoor - lots of bees! They do have their own parking lot.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Visited here for some fruit cups. The lines were lengthy but they had two windows so it went by fast. They had so many options to choose from. Love the pictures for those who order with their eyes like me! Prices were so cheap. I was able to get a Italian ice and lg fruit cup for $10. Strawberry Italian ice 5/5 Soft and flavorful. Not overbearing sweet. Good on a hot day for sure. Lime Italian ice 4/5 Soft but very mild. Could be more sour. Light. Large fruit cup 5/5 Could choose the fruit you want in it. Yum! So much to eat. The chamoy and tajin just makes it better.

Ashley L.

Yelp
My favorite place for a refreshing and delicious treat. My niece was spending the day with me and Las Nieves was our first stop. I got a classic mangonada and she got a raspa with gummy bears. Great price and great treats!

Liliana T.

Yelp
The worst customer service I've ever experience, when trying to order the guy taking my order kept rolling his eyes and once given my order he forgot several items, proceeded to recharge me and then one of the Italian shaved ice was dripping so I asked for a lid and he took it and threw it away and kept being on his phone. The owner or manager then came out after calling the place and was being so rude to which I asked if he was going to act the same way the other guy did then to just forget it but was able to replace everything with lids. Overall first and last time going here. The WORST experience ever sadly

Daniel A.

Yelp
Why don't I come here more often!!! This place does these spectacular fruit cups and you can choose if they are made with real fruit. Perfect for those hot summer months or whenever you are craving a sweet treat. All of the flavors I've tried are exceptional. ( Mango, strawberry, coconut) The mango is such a rich true mango flavor. I've gotten it with the chamoy and they can sure load it up which was a bit much for me but you can tell them how much you want. Beware! If you start going you might not be able to stop going.

Alexia G.

Yelp
This was the worst snow cone I ever had in my life. We waited like 20 minutes on line and after we ordered about 5-8 minutes. We thought, wow this is going to be amazing - it's well rated and crowded with people. It was so artificial tasting. We ordered coconut large, tiger blood large. We also ordered a small fresh mango fruit cup. The mango was very warm and it was so over ripe that the pieces were mushy. I thought it was going to be cut up in nice strips. On a nice hot day, you would think the mango would be fresh and cool. We had the option to add lime and/or hot sauce on top. We opted for just lime because we planned on eating with the snow cone. The seating is nice under a tent and a little fountain in the parking area. Ready for this? When I got the snow cone, my coconut snow cone, it was BLUE! I was completely thrown off by this wearing my white outfit, trying to have a coconut snow cone on a 105 degree day after walking around. We couldn't eat it. I tried and just became so sick from the sugar. It's really the snow cone like you would see from the ice cream truck to bring you back to the 90s.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
This was the perfect place to stop after a family walk. Fresh fruit with tajin for us and ice cream for our 4yo.

Dan N.

Yelp
Las Nieves is my all time favorite place to get shaved ice. Their shaved ice isn't like the other places. The shaved ice here is has a very fresh consistency and flavor and they mixed fresh fruits into it as well. My favorite flavors are mango and strawberry, but the other flavors aren't bad either [I've tried them all]. The lucas that goes on top gives it a perfect salty flavor to balance out the sweet fruit flavor. Pros -variety of options [fruit, fruit juice, shaved ice, ice cream, etc. etc....] -cheap and affordable -outdoor seating -free mangonada on your birthday. Cons -long line at times -language barrier The recommendation: I do not hesitate at all to recommend this place to everyone I know for shaved ice! I try to come here every chance i get.

Joanna E.

Yelp
I remember going here in my college years... It made me feel like I was back in Mexico. I looked up the place again when I moved back to SA with my now hubby and daughter. He's from Mexico too so I knew he'd enjoy it :)

Ethan Z.

Yelp
Las Nieves is a local gem. Since I was a young boy, I knew if I was going to Las Nieves I'd be leaving with satisfied taste buds for only a few dollars. If you're looking to cool down on a hot summer day or just craving something salty/savory there are plenty of treats to cater to your sweet tooth. I think what they do best is their natural fruit Italian shaved ice, elote, and Piccadilly. I love going here when I visit San Antonio, their service is genuine and quick. Don't forget to ask to add the chili to your shaved ice, its free and it really adds a zing to the fruit flavored treat!!

Allison S.

Yelp
I can't believe I am just learning about Las Nieves. This past spring I interned at Trinity University and a friend recommended I try Las Nieves to beat the signature San Antonio heat. For almost the whole semester I kept saying I would try it but never did because of whatever reason. I was really missing out! This particular location is located on Hildebrand right off I-10, and I passed it so many times to and from work, think of all the snow balls (snow cones) I missed out on! I've visited many times since and each time has been a sweet, cool treat. My go to order is the medium mangonada (Italian ice with Chamoy). It's sweet but not too sweet with some tang from the chamoy. A medium is the perfect size for me because it fills you up for a moment and is the perfect after work/before dinner snack. I'm not sure of the other locations, but the Hildebrand location has a great outdoor seating with shades and fans. Perfect for enjoying your food, hanging with friends and or watching traffic drive by. Definitely recommend Las Nieves as a way to make any day a reason to celebrate and treat yourself!

Joseph R.

Yelp
I think this place is really good. The mangonada? Damn delish. I really like all the aguas frescas. Elote was good too. I haven't tried the shaved ice here yet though. There is an outdoor seating area under shade. Plenty parking. Prices are really good. It's pretty cheap, imo. Highly recommend.

Karen T.

Yelp
Bad just like it was 2 years ago. Don't understand how it gets any good reviews. Mangonadas are plain Jane on steroids. Customer service hard to judge since there isn't any, it's like ordering to a stucco wall. Won't be back I'd rather waste my money at a place that has possibilities of maybe being good. Two stars cause 1's are for when they say they are open on the web and when you get there, it looks like they've been closed for sometime!!!!

Gerri A.

Yelp
The mangonada was really good and pleasant to eat for dessert! I never had a problem with ordering snacks from here

Patricia L.

Yelp
If you're from San Antonio no matter your nationality, skin color, gender, religion, or Hood you rep you know your way around a raspa, fruit cup, and corn in a cup. Well Las Nieves has all that and MORE. Looking at the menu the little 10 yr old in me was smiling big. I remember chasing the ice cream man down the street to get a Pelucus ice cream bar and not to mention the cucumber covered in chili. They have an extensive menu with all your favorite cold treats, fruit cups, and more. If you want to stick around and enjoy your treat before it melts in the summer heat they have a parking lot that can fit like 20 cars. They also have a lot of covered seating so you stay cool even with the summer heat. I ordered a large raspa with ice cream. I got a pineapple raspa and coconut ice cream. The two paired so well. The coconut ice cream was legit it even had the coconut flakes, cane with 2 scoops My friend ordered a fruit cup and you can select the type of fruit you want in the cup. Really enjoyed all the covered seating maybe it easy to sit, talk, and enjoy our treats.

Trevor W.

Yelp
I've loved Las Nieves for many years up until this past Wednesday afternoon, after I found a pube in my Piccadilly raspa. I'm not sure how it got into the ice and I'm sure it was probably an accident, but nonetheless that is extremely nasty.

Jo M.

Yelp
This place never disappoints! Been coming here for years. Fruit is always fresh. All products in general all fresh aguas frescas, corn, cuerritos, ice cream. The lines are sometimes long but staff is quick! Overall tables are always clean, there's plenty of shaded seating. A faucet outside to wash your hands or for your kids, restrooms for customers unlike other outdoor fruterías. Would def recommend. 10/10

Alice H.

Yelp
Love love LOVE this place, a staple for summer. My best friend is in the city and this is now a must visit whenever I come visit her. Mango with chamoy is my favorite. In my 3 day stay, we made sure to go at least twice. This is all I'm craving this summer.

Ernestina B.

Yelp
Love the strawberry smoothies every thing is always made fresh so there is a wait but with it be prepared for long lines on most days

Maritza O.

Yelp
I do like this place, but honestly the cucumbers suck. I always get a fruit cup with cucumbers and they mainly taste weird and always has a bunch of seeds.

Lisa N.

Yelp
Actually got delivery through Yelp (didn't know they did that. More on that at the end). On to the food---the corn in the cup was delicious and generous with Parmesan and Mayo with a little lime juice (you can ask for extra but expect EXTRA). frito pie was basically DIY and okay but basic Fritos, nacho cheese and a pretty tasty chili that was a little stingy on the amount. ice cream was barely melted and sweet vanilla that was a good amount for the price. Haven't tried the topped chicharrones yet but they are also DIY. Delivery was a little weird because Yelp put a expected arrival on the food and then after I called (because they didn't confirm the restaurant was going to fulfill the order), they told me the order was cancelled. Five minutes later I'm notified Las Nieves has my order and it's being made...huh??? Glad I didn't send the husband out to get food after they told me it was absolutely cancelled. All in all great choice for snack food. One star less for weird delivery from grub hub/Yelp

Amy Z.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while driving by. As a fan of shaved ice and fruits, my eyes lit up! I did not expect it to be some of THE best shaved ice I've ever had - so smooth and fruity, I couldn't believe it's free of any milk or cream. We had the mango and cherry flavors, the sizes are GENEROUS - even a small is enough to split between two people. The cucumber Augua Fresca was refreshing as well. Glad for the plentiful outdoor seating - hope they continue to do well through this pandemic.

Fabiola a.

Yelp
Great snack place!!! Good portions! Plenty of options.covered outdoor seating area.fast service and reasonable pricing.fantastic parking! Also it's a staple local business.i recommend the cucumber water.and elotes .

Christine C.

Yelp
I am absolutely obsessed with this place. Whenever friends come to visit, I always make a point to bring them here. I adore their mango ice and watermelon ice with chamoy and tajin, but I haven't tried a flavor I didn't like. It is super fresh and doesn't taste artificial at all; the best treat on a hot summer day.

Paul P.

Yelp
I have seen this place forever but passing by in a car doesn't give the full effect and appreciation of the space and the feel. So today I stopped by and it was great. The fruit cup was huge, it was all fresh. Nachos with Rico cheese was also good and taste better than the nachos at 7-11. Yelpers are right on this one!

Ricardo P.

Yelp
I had been looking for a legit shaved ice place for some time now since living in SA. A family member of mine recommended this place. I came here recently and saw the multiple options for shaved ice. I tried the mango, green lime, and strawberry, and all three of them were delicious! In fact, with each spoon I was taken back to my childhood eating helados in Mexico. You can actually taste real fruit in each of the flavors I tried. The prices were fair; it was about 3 bucks for a medium, and a medium is more than enough for one person. They kept asking me if I wanted to put lucas or chamoy on the nieves, so I guess this must be a San Antonio thing. Overall, highly impressed by the shaved ice here and will be coming again in the future for sure.

Ashley E.

Yelp
My family and I love this place. Great snacks, great prices and wonderful customer service. There is something for everyone. I love the Augua Frescas. The cucumber one is sooo good. My mom LOVED her corn in the cup. Love that there is a large seating area with good shade.

Luis A.

Yelp
This was my first time coming to Las Nieves and absolutely liked it! I ordered a Mango Shaved raspa which was made to perfection. The texture was fantastic and made with real mango fruit too. I added some Chamoy on top to make it extra spicy and loved even more. On a side note: my colleagues ordered real fruit cups and they were fresh too. The fruit was very juicy and in great conditions. As for the facility, it is very neat and clean. Customer service is terrific and was greeted as soon as I stepped in the front porch. Wait time was not long as the service was fast.

America V.

Yelp
Sooo good! I got the mango Italian ice and it had some Mango pieces in it too. Tasted amazing! Very refreshing

Anthony S.

Yelp
Went here right after visiting nursey down the street from here and man did it smack because it was super hot af outside ,ate the watermelon and lime italian ice and man felt so refreshed and chilled

Emily M.

Yelp
This place was really good there's so much to pick from a very affordable the people at the window were really nice and helpful. It does get busy, but it's worth the wait. We got fruit cups corn in a cup and drinks. Will be going back super yummy!!

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
This place is really truly awesome. I've been craving mangonadas every day since I had my first one and my friend said Las Nieves was great so we went there together. To my dismay they did not have mangonadas on the menu. They had shaved ice, fruit cups, corn, candy, and everything else you expect to see but no mangonadas! Maybe you had to ask for it specially but I didn't. I just chose the mango flavored shaved ice instead. The mango flavored shaved ice was DELICIOUS! Best shaved ice I've ever had! It even had little bits of mango to let you know that they weren't messing around over here. My friend got a fruit cup with added pickles and you can never go wrong with fruit cups. They are just great even without the chamoy and the spice but when you mix those two you get a whole new sensation and experience. Needless to say it was wonderful. The fruits were freshly sliced and the added pickles cost $1.50 but my friend really likes the sourness of pickle. She also got the watermelon shaved ice. It definitely tasted like watermelon and was mildly sweet. I wasn't as into it because my flavor profile was geared towards spicy and acidic at the time but she thought it was better than my mango flavored shaved ice. I disagree. One weird thing I noticed was there were a lot of bees in the area and a stray dog. The dog was harmless as were the bees but one of the bees was stuck in the container full of the spice. It was moving around in there and my friend got freaked by it but I didn't care because I think bees are clean and beautiful creatures. We told the guy working there and he was surprised to see it there too and tried to get rid of it as we walked away with our frozen treats. Anyways, if I am ever in the area I will prob be back despite any bees dancing around in my spices.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Being a white boy from the midwest, I never experienced places like this growing up. I see why they are so popular and since being in Texas, I've come to not only enjoy Fruteria's but not have my favorites! Las Nieves has been a goto spot for me now for several years. The staff is great, the fruit is fresh, and their Italian Ice ROCKS! This is a great place to check out, especially as the weather gets warmer. They have lots of outdoor seating for when the weather permits or you can just pick up your order and head out in your car. If you haven't checked this place out, I sure recommend. Treat Yourself! go to Las Nieves!

Jessica A.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a friend who said they had the best corn in the cup. I was a little disappointed as the corn is regular yellow corn and the cheese is parmesan cheese with a spicy flavorless chili powder on top. Their shaved ice is yummy! I got a melon Shaved ice that i really enjoyed. The parking area is pretty big and lots of parking places. Service is slow so be prepared to wait awhile if there is anyone In front of you.

Ruthie W.

Yelp
Tried it for the first time. It's NOT closed on Sunday. Had the strawberry mango milkshake. Yum! Hubby's watermelon shaved ice looked tasty too. Much on the menu so we'll be back.
