Las Palapas - Tezel

I treated my buddy for lunch. He picked this location. I had never been here before. I ordered the Macho chicken burrito and an iced tea. He ordered 2 classic margaritas on the rocks...oh, he also had 2 beef fajitas tacos. Although the meal was delicious, once the meal was delivered the waitress was too busy to notice our needs. I still tipped her 20 percent and giving this 4 stars overall.

So far number one best authentic Mexican food! Great service, short wait time. Will definitely revisit this restaurant. Loved it! ❤️❤️

Smh! Not worth the money! I got the LP super bowl. I got more gravy and cheese then actually meat! Not worth the price. I get more a taco cabana. Then this here. Straight rip off. Also order queso with also not worth any. Smh

Tacos are way to expensive. The quality of tortillas have gone down. They are very thin and under cook. Lately I've been getting the wrong orders. A few times I've ordered the green enchiladas. They don't put the toppings such as the lettuce, tomatoes and the sour cream. That automatically comes with the green enchiladas. Although the staff is nice. I give them a two star rating due the quality of food is not worth the high prices.

This never fails... EVERYTIME I order a chicken fajita taco, I request that they make sure they ADD onions.. They failed to do that!! I don't understand what is so difficult for them to ADD my requested grilled onions. I will have a talk with not only Manuela, but the owner of this location as well...

I got take out through the drive through through this location, I was nervous they would take forever or screw it up, but they didn’t ! They got the order correct and were very quick and the food was perfect!!! So happy. I just moved out of state and I came back to get my favorite place (las palapas) and they came Through! Thank you ❤️ I ate the chips and salsa the next night as leftovers.

As we entered the manager rudely told to “ sit anywhere in the front”. Our server was great food was good. Paying our bill was not a pleasant experience. The manager/cashier stopped our transaction to reprimand a customer who parked on the “pick up spot”, customer stated there was no sign and left. I asked the manager to please check us out but she kept rudely replying that she was working on it. When I ask her to purchase a gift card, she stopped to have a conversation with an employee. When I asked another person to help me, the manager rudely told SHE was working on it. I told her to forget it and walk out never to return to that restaurant. I believe in patronizing local businesses but I don’t recommend this one. Manager has absolutely zero people skills.

I love Las Palapas. Their rollback specials on Mondays and Wednesdays are almost always a win in my book. The drive thru service is quick and convenient. It's also a good place to meet the fam on a Friday or Saturday night. I go for the deals but come back for the chips and salsa. I'm so lucky that the Tezel location is so close to home.

Just spent $8 on tacos at the drive through, I asked for salsa. I got one half full tiny portion, not enough for one taco. Someone should explain this.

First time here and it's a fail. Ordered 3 crispy chicken tacos, no tomato. They gave me 3 ground beef tacos loaded with tomatoes. No salsa or taco sauce provided. Meat was not seasoned and lacks flavor. No receipt provided with order so had to login to my account to ensure my card was charged correctly. Will not return due to poor service and blah food.

Breakfast combo can't be beat. The chorizo and egg taco has more Chorizo than egg so it is very filling. The egg and sausage taco was the opposite--more egg and hardly any sausage but nevertheless tasty . The decaf coffee was freshly prepared and always tastes very good.

Always issues here with forgetting food when ordering at the drive thru. Today was false advertising with their pricing on the drive thru menu. Pricing was different on the menu vs when being rung up ( it was more). Employee stated it was due to lunch pricing , but I ordered during lunch and nowhere does it say "lunch pricing only". Employee also refused to get manager. Also I asked for two bowls of soup, I received a bowl and a cup. Didn't give me a receipt and chicken looks gross.

On the time we sat down this afternoon after leaving church, we were attended by several waitresses. We had our drinks our food, our service, or the ambience. The table is clean. The place is clean and the price is excellent.

Bean and cheese tacos were room temperature, cheese didn't even melt bc how cold the beans and tortillas were.

We ask for sopaipillas , it looks like they give us chips , very really disappointing , where the managers are at this time ?

Saturday night. It's 10:00 pm. Just left a gathering with some friends and wanted a bite to eat before returning home. Decided to stop at Las Palapas on Tezel Road/Culebra. Walked in and asked the cashier if we needed to wait or could seat ourselves. Said to pick any place on the front side of the house. The staff had already cordoned off the area by the bar. We sat at one of the booths to the left of the entry. Asked our waiter if the bar was closed. Victor( or Vincent) mumbles about coming from another area/bar/place. Couldn't understand him after he repeated 3 x. Went ahead and ordered a Macho botana plate for my husband and me. Our friends decided to order the same too. Asked if the bar was closed, and he again mumbled something about coming from another place. I think he got upset because I had to ask him to repeat himself. We placed an order for 4 beers, which he brought out reluctantly. Our food order took an extraordinary amount of time to be brought out. Our food was cold when it finally arrived. By then we had finished our beers because he hadn't even brought water for our table. We ordered another round of beers, he said that he could not serve us another round, because he said he smelled alcohol and if we had been at another place, he could not serve us. I can assure you we were not intoxicated, having only had two cocktails of poor quality from a neighborhood bar around the corner. He said he had to ask permission to bring us another round of beers. When he returned, he said this was the last beer he would bring us and he was only doing his job. I have a TABC server certification, know what to look for when a patron is intoxicated, and know he profiled us walking in the door. I patronize several other Las Palapas restaurants and have never had this problem at any of them: poor service, and poor food quality. Do not waste your money here.

Wanted to reinforce my first review after noticing that management never responds with solutions or offers to make up for poor service. Since this location leads in 1 star reviews, it's clear that they don't intend to improve their situation. Since this is a local franchise, I'd like to suggest the location at Evers and 410. Food is always hot, tortillas are super fresh, and the waitstaff is on the ball. Maybe Tezel could learn something, but it's highly unlikely.

This morning I placed an order of 2 chorizo and egg tacos. I requested that I wanted the tortilla be slightly toasted. When I got home the tortilla on the tacos were burned. I didn't have time to go back because I was on my way to go out of town. When I got back I went inside and encountered Gerardo. I was explaining to him about the tacos he was just looking at daze . He seemed out. Then he said here . It was a receipt with my name. Hello? I said can you put my name in the book so I could get the tacos replaced for the morning. I had to repeat myself. Seems like he has some problem understanding. He needs something.

my wife went through the drive through at the Tezel Rd. location. She received an order of food and discovered that it was the wrong order. She waited for the person at the drive through to re-open the window. When he did, she informed him NICELY that the order was not correct. He apparently realized he gave her the wrong order, and upon handing the order back to him, he became incensed at my wife for apparently making a negative facial expression. He said to her, "Are you mad at me, don't you get mad at me." He then gave her the correct order and while she was telling him that she was NOT mad, he simply ignored her and let the window close. Very insulting, childish behavior.

Unbelievably bad service!! It doesn't matter what you order you're always made to wait, orders are wrong, and they don't know the difference between corn and flour tortillas!! I've given this location way too many chances but no more!! Please avoid this location if possible, it'll save you some major aggravation!!

Ordered tortilla soup and got three things in broth with an avocado strip and a few pieces of tomato...‍. So disappointing and I'm not sure why we keep giving this location a chance!

Mexican food fast but good quality. Drinks are nice and strong with good variety of choices, beer, wine and Bourbon, Tequila. Love the sopes, AL carbon salad and their tortilla soup. Chalupas and crispy tacos also a good deal.

I literally had the worst experienc. I understand the restaurant was full however you had an entire section closed with no tables or booths available. When I asked if we could sit in a section that was closed, I was told NO. When I told the manager Gloria that she was going to lose a customer, she said "ok thank you." extremely rude and disappointing.

This location is AWFUL!!!! Other locations are great! But this location is just terrible. The tacos are so bad here! And the salsa is so bland. Your better off going next door or just to the Alamo ranch location! Disappointed for sure!

Love this location and the service. They seem to always be nice to who ever walks in the door. Greeted and seated quickly. Service is great and they have THE BEST Chicken Tortilla Soup!!! Yes. It's that good. I'm thinking I'm going to have to go get some today!

Just went through the drive through and received the most disgusting tacos. The bacon was covered in grease that was starting to congeal from being cold and the bean and cheese tasted old. The quality has really gone down. I will no longer go to this location.

Way cheaper prices than I'm used to but it's always worth the drive! Their huge parking lot is always making it easy to navigate. Their large screen sign always has their deals. Very easy to read the menus. Also their cup deals are great! Very cheap and free refills! Their food is pretty amazing veggie enchiladas are my favorite lunch meal as well as their steak nachos! Not a small serving so get ready to stuff your face with cheesy goodness! The staff is always so friendly. Their drive thru is kind of small be careful waiting for your food.

Went through the drive through and got four tacos. The meat is very tuff and chewy. Not happy at all. Tried to call them and no answer and no voice mail.

First time coming to this location and the last..service was horrible..waiter never came to check on us..we asked the girl clearing r plates..she couldnt understand us...if ur a regular here they will treat u like gold..but if ur new..they dont care...i wont b back...they should b all bulldozed..

The place is small on the inside, but the wait wasn't long. I ordered a taco Al carbon and a sope. The sope was delicious! I got the traditional with just beans, cheese, and avocado. The fajita taco didn't have flavor, had too much fat, but the tortilla was good. The pork chop plate was good, but the pork chop was very small and thin. So if you like thin and small you'll enjoy it. The chorizo sope wasn't that great either and the barbacoa taco has so much fat. The burrito was okay. And finally the egg, cheese, bacon taco was the best! Only one picture, sorry forgot to get the rest.

Shitty service. I asked for an enchilada plate, and i got my order, but it was missing the beans. Waiter never said anything about it until after I finished my meal, and then after I asked him about the beans. The lady who I imagine may have been the manager, was too busy talking down to the employees about tables not being cleaned or what have you. Very rude. Enchiladas Plate

Unbelievably slow service waiting inside for an order that has been taking almost 30 minutes for a couple tacos DONT come here if you're expecting to get your food in under 30 minutes

I hardly ever order to go at Las Palapas Restaurant at 5525 Tezel Rd, but this morning I was in the area. My wife found a woman's hair in her first taco. Needless to say, they all went into the kitchen sink disposer. Aren't they supposed to wear hair-nets? No more Las Palapas for us.

I did a drive thru, arrived home and realized they gave me the wrong food. I called Immediately and they apologized and offered to give me a credit, refund, or pick up the correct meal. They gave me my food and it was delicious!!

Waited for a DoorDash order (I'm a dasher) there was 2 other dashers waiting with me. Never put my order in until 5 mins after they asked the name for the order, was out of chicken soup as of 7pm (it's 8pm) so I had to let my customer know. Very slow service and did not seem to care about timing

We went to the location on 1604/281 and the food was amazing!! The staff kept checking in on us and made us feel at home. We will be going again and again. The chicken soup and enchiladas verde was delicious!!! Thank you!

So I've been avoiding this place for a long time due to fact that when my wife got back to San Antonio she gone to a different location and was not that impressed. But we took a chance and as far as tortillas go they were good, the chiliqullas where really watery and not all that great, the bardacoa was bland and not flavorful, and the service was subpar at best. We took a chance and we can't win them all we won't be back.

Stopped my this establishment to get some breakfast tacos... The FIRST time around, they got my order wrong...I ordered 2 bean, cheese, potato and bacon tacos, and 2 carne guisada with cheese tacos... the first two were missing the beans AND bacon, and the other two tacos were ice cold... They got MOST things correct the second time around...EXCEPT for 2 small things...my sweet tea tasted the way stagnant water smells and the other thing was a FUCKING BREAD TIE...proof is shown in the pic....

I clearly order fajitas at the drive thru window, and confirmed fajitas at the pay window. When I got home, I had enchiladas. I called and the manager argued with me that I asked for a combination plate which is NOT the case. I asked for a beef and chicken fajita combo plate. Not the same and clearly not a reason to argue with me. I'm the customer. And certainly would not waste my time to call if my order was correct! No one wanted to listen. Just listen. Fajita and enchilada don't sound the same. Neither does it rhyme! Give me a break!

Potatoes were hard and raw this is very consistent & we tried to give them another chance but enough is enough. I don't recommend eating here.

Excellent Customer service first and foremost. Great daily lunch specials with tea. Newly remodeled dining area. Food tastes great, large servings, great deals.

Aye Yi Yi - can't even begin to describe the BS here tonight. I GET they were probably short-handed BUT - the waitress stopped and asked if she had taken our order not once, twice, or even three times. She stopped FOUR times and asked if she had taken our order yet. We stayed just because it became comical after a while. I ordered a Dos-Arita 3 times before I was told that they were "out of margarita". Wow...never experienced anything like that there before - and we had been going for years...until now.

The manager of this location was extremely rude. I came in to pick up my order, and he completely ignored me, even tough I was right in front of him. Terrible service, would not recommend.

I asked them not to put a huge piece of chicken in my soup. And what did they do? They out the BIGGEST piece of chicken in my soup. Kinda pissed about it cause I don't feel good, I have a sore throat and I'm trying not to eat meat. So yeah fuck y'all for wasting my time and money

Food was ok. Staff here were friendly and helpful. The way the Food looked on the Plate's was really Good. Restaurant is Very Clean. Very Impressed with the Potatoes and the Chorizo.

This place used to be so great! Now it's just an OVER PRICED, like your eyes out kind of place. For one, who sells a $5 taco?! And then they weigh out the amount of meat and you get crap! When you ask for avocado, they act like they have to grow them with the little amount they put on your tacos. Who ever owns this place needs to stop being greedy and lower its prices. Other than that, the food is good.

This location for some reason to me always has a particular smell inside, I've always thought this even before I was pregnant, but my husband was determined to get his tacos so went inside. I got the salad and soup. Salad was good soup had lemon flavor which is not one of my favorite tastes in soups. Most likely next time will go through the drive thru due to the smell of dirty mop water.

SOUP WITHOUT SOUP. Disappointed, I love the flavor of this soup but I ordered at the drive thru today and got home to this. I recommend that you ask for the soup and the chicken, rice, etc on separate containers.

Each of the three times I have tried to use their drive thru the operator can't hear me. I can hear them but they can't hear me. Why doesn't a restaurant not invest a little time and money on a system that actually works. Thrice I backed out because they could not hear me. Now honestly I stand in line at the drive thru and not want to order. Please get a system that works.

Purchased "1 lb" of barbacoa but did not receive the actual amount. Most likely not going back.

The service is terrible I have been a customer for over 15 years on a regular basis and the service just keeps getting worse and worse I went this week in the morning we were the only person sitting at the table and the waitress says she didn't see us but even after I pointed out that we had been there waiting and she kept taking phone orders and helping walk-in customers she still made us wait by continuing to help walk ins, service to drive-through is their only priority the people that come in person to eat get very very poor service her name was Gloria and she literally laughed in my face when we told her we were going to leave because she refused to take our order we will definitely not be going back to this restaurant anymore.

Let's see... Pretty good food. Cheap prices. Fairly clean restaurant. I had the beef fajitas quesadilla. Mine was great. A solid A. A couple of other people in my party thought their food was simply pretty good. Service was ok but they were busy. I'd definitely come back.

Not good. The Carne Gisada plate I ordered was tasteless. All of the food on the plate had no spices at all. The prices on the internet did not match the menu. There was a $3 dollar difference. Too expensive!!!!!

This is the second time they get my order wrong. I ordered two chicken crispy tacos and what I got was beef. On top of everything else I try calling them and their phone is busy. So disappointed
