Google
First and foremost, they accommodate seafood allergies! The staff was so kind and professional. Our server was on point and made sure we were taken care of with our seafood allergy. He was on top of everything! He was always checking on us, refilling our drinks, making sure everything tasted good. He was fabulous!! The food was delicious, hot, fresh, and seasoned well. I loved the live music. They weren't overbearing, and I could still talk to my table with no issues. I loved everything about this place! Clean tables and good menu options. Also, the food was well priced. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Thank you for accommodating us!

The atmosphere here is beyond perfect and lovely. So welcoming and inviting!! However, I find that the rice is not good at all and maybe they should consider changing the recipe. I ordered the beef fajitas to go and was extremely shocked to see no beef at all. For over $20 I was not pleased. However, I have had the chicken dish in the past and it was very good. Came with the same rice though which is just not good. Overall I would come back but would genuinely like to see changes with the food because it’s such a great place otherwise.

Google
Quick, delicious, and in a great setting. If you sit outside, you don’t feel like you’re in a strip mall and can barely hear the road. Nice to have some complimentary live music on a Saturday night, too

Dylan Taylor

Google
First time here and pretty disappointed. I ordered the beef fajitas to go for $22 and the portion was really underwhelming. Very little beef, mostly onions, and just 3 tortillas. For that price, I expected a lot more. Definitely didn’t feel like good value and left still hungry. Won’t be rushing back.

Google
I can see this place being a best kept secret when it comes to live music and atmosphere. Beautiful on the inside, live music most nights. Had to give it a four stars though because I wasn't entirely happy with the food I ordered, which was the spinach enchiladas. However, The dishes on the menu did seem authentic. However don't let the four stars deter you from stopping in here and enjoying a cozy little meal, I'm sure the rest of the menu is fantastic.

Google
First off I felt like a little kid at the bar, they need taller chairs. I ordered the steak tacos expecting guacamole which was stated on the menu but when I asked the bartender about it, he said that the steak tacos don’t come with guacamole. The meat in the steak tacos had no flavor and the meat was really chewy. I was also surprised to be charged $2.00 for chips and salsa, which was never mentioned when the bartender asked if I wanted them.

Sandra LyAnna

Google
I looked up fancy restaurants, and for some reason this is on the Google search for fancy restaurants and is definitely not a fancy restaurant. The atmosphere is not as the pictures portray. It is OK please but it’s not like oh let’s go to this fancy restaurant the Mexican candy shot is definitely something to go to if you are trying to get drunk super fast.

Delicious food and margaritas. Great parking. Live music on various nights. The service is fantastic. The menu selection is very good, from appetizers to entrees, you can find something fun to enjoy. I highly recommend Las Palomas.

Yelp
My family and I decided to get some food from Las Palomas. We ordered online and my husband picked it up. We got chips and salsa to share. The chips were crispy and the salsa was addicting. We also ordered an extra side of Charro Beans and Rice to share. I added my portion to my meal. As a starter we ordered the Nachos. They come with refried beans and cheese and we added shredded chicken. It came with pico, guacamole, and jalapenos on the side. The Nachos were good. The chips were a little soggy but the nachos were good. I am glad we added the shredded chicken because it was flavorful and made the nachos tasty. For my main meal I chose a steak rice bowl which has grilled beef tenderloin strips, grilled onions, and grilled bell peppers served on rice with an avocado tomatillo sauce and vinaigrette onions. I added some Charro beans and additional rice to my bowl. The bowl was tasty. There were plenty of tenderloin strips in the dish. What really gave the bowl flavor was the tomatillo sauce and the vinaigrette onions. They provided the flavor that was needed so that the bowl wouldn't taste bland. It was a good size, very filling, and enough for two servings. Overall a good place to order and pick up some flavorful food.

Yelp
Not your typical Austin "Tex-Mex" restaurant, this is truly authentic Mexican food! I recommend their Mole Enchiladas and the Redfish a la Mexicana.
google avatar

Jae P.

Yelp
Not a terrible spot for authentic Mexican food, but there's definitely better options in Texas. Located in a strip mall, there's a ton of seating inside and offers an affordable menu of various Mexican dishes. I tried the steak fajitas and personally it was a bit underwhelming as I've had much better cooked beef at other Mexican places. The guacamole was delicious and super fresh, and the salsa + chips were a great way to start the meal. Service was also fast and friendly and accommodated our large group well.

Yelp
Not good at all ..food was gross and way over priced ..never again ..dont know how this place stays in business..

Josh M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant however, calling this Mexican food is an insult to the beautiful and rich culture of Mexicans across the state of Texas. Incredibly bland. Chips are generic corn tortilla chips sourced at Costco. Salsa tasted like store bought picante sauce. Tortillas were store bought. Rice is like steamed rice, no Mexican flavoring. Refried beans from a can. Highly disappointing from such a beautiful establishment. Margarita was Terrible and small for 14 dollars. Charged for chips and salsa. Please go somewhere else.
google avatar

Ernest S.

Yelp
Overpriced and not good. I ordered the steak salad and was shocked that it was hot steak warmed in a pan with sautéed vegetables poured over a cold salad. Could not bring myself to finish it. The steak was bland and tasted like it was boiled. I also ordered a cup of charro soup and it was served in a tiny cup for $6. It was just charro beans! I will not go there again. The sign said "authentic interior Mexican" but it crappy Westlake Tex Mex. The salsa was mostly Hunt's tomato sauce. Queso was standard.

Yelp
The patio was perfect for this Spring Break evening. The tables are far enough apart so you don't feel crowded. Our waiter was fantastic. I should have asked for his name. He recommended the Taquitos de Pollo- which were fantastic! We ordered margaritas which were also top notch! The chips were fresh and the salsa was great. I will be back sooner rather than later. What a great hidden gem in Westlake.

Yelp
Service was fine but the food alone is a no go for me. The tortillas were the plasticy type you get from school, the nacho cheese dip reminded me of something store bought. The cheese taco toppings was basic American, and the tres leches had a frosting on top of it that was off putting. Chips and guac was fine. The fajitas were fine. Just surprised with the details that completely threw me off.
google avatar

Kavin K.

Yelp
Probably fancy for 1990 but nice clean and really do have great food. It's really an institution and longevity and consistency shows attention to detail. 3.5 rating is unwarranted. Jkk

Richard D.

Yelp
Great cocktails and service was excellent. Food was fine, but really we were there for the drinks.

Bill I.

Yelp
As far as Tex-Mex food goes, this is definitely run-of-the-mill. It's ok, but a lot of Mexican food restuarants are much better. Also, LP has very loud live music on the weekends, so if you want to visit or talk with your dinner partner(s), ask to be seated in another room.

Yelp
Loved this palace! Seemed a bit pricey but the service made up for it. Came after being disappointed at a local restaurant. This definitely satisfied my hunger! I was surprised to get white rice at a Mexican restaurant but it was good. Beans were great and the salsa and chips too. I had a jalapeño margarita and my husband has the house margarita. Both were delicious. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the steak was very gamy. I ate half of it and couldn't eat the other half I was just going to eat it just because. It was a decent size. I would not mind if the steak was half the size but better quality meat. I will definitely return and try other dishes. The restroom was very clean too and that's a big deal for me.

Yelp
A lovely experience! Was seated quickly, our server, Eddy, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Not too loud, great atmosphere, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Service was good - chips and salsa fine but decided on burger - bun and fixing good but patty was preformed frozen - Not Good
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by a friend who said they had authentic Mexican food. I want to for shout out to Wesley who is a wonderful server. We were a tough group asking for all sorts of modifications, but he was patient and helpful. The red fish tacos were good, my friend who had the chicken mole said it was also good. The fajitas were plentiful and good. The guacamole was also good and the chips warm. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars was because it was average. Nothing stood out. The rice and beans tasted like canned food. The fish in the tacos was a very small portion for the price. True I didn't try some of the entrées and perhaps they are more of what my friend was recommending. I appreciated that they had outdoor seating.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
The dining experience at this establishment was a mix of hits and misses. The authenticity of the dishes is evident. One particular downside was our salsa, which surprisingly had floating frozen tomato chunks - a sign that perhaps it wasn't freshly made. On the brighter side, the mole enchiladas were a standout, with rich and intricate flavors. However, accompanying sides like the rice and beans lacked the depth or seasoning one would expect from such a place. All in all, while there are some dishes that shine, there are also areas where improvement is needed.

Catalina P.

Yelp
I would def give a 5, but the lunch experience is not the same as diner experience. Highly recommend their nachos with picked onion & beef. Fantastic skinny margaritas and if you can go for desert, try the sopapillas.
google avatar

Tam T.

Yelp
It's a nice easy family neighborhood restaurant in Westlake. Food is consistent and easy to find a favorite. I personally like the caldo soup and the redfish "Al Mojo de Ajo". My guy likes the mole. The Mexican martinis are perfect. Simple and consistent.

Neerja J.

Yelp
Everything about this place was wonderful. They had live music with a quaint acoustic band, great food and lovely servers. The vibe and food was just perfect for our Saturday outing.

Eric B.

Yelp
Had to go to Strait Music so I stopped in for lunch. Two people standing at the host stand just stared at me when I walked in...no greeting. I asked for a table for one and the hostess took me to a table, put the menu down and walked away without saying anything. I sat there for over five minutes watching a half dozen servers/hosts talking amongst themselves at the host stand or behind it. Nobody came to my table or even walked by and acknowledged my presence. I ended up walking out and getting lunch elsewhere.

Yelp
I love this little Mexican restaurant tucked away in Westlake. They serve authentic Mexican food and their service is always excellent! I love going for HH. They have some great specials and their margaritas are excellent with quality ingredients.

Donna J.

Yelp
I have been going to Las Palomas for decades. Food is always stellar and service is consistently dependable. Don't expect TexMex but interior Mexican at it's best. White rice is a fav of my Peruvian friends who insist it's just like home to them. The flexible indoor/outdoor seating makes it the perfect place for most any group. My family knows that's where we'll be for Mother's Day and my birthday as well. Unlike the others, Las Palomas TRULY has the best mole in town!
google avatar

Derek D.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best Mexican restaurant in Austin. I've never had empanadas this delicious before. The combo fajitas for two were a delicious combination of grilled peppers, tender chicken and beef with the expected trimmings. The drinks were great too, and good service. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Shayla C.

Yelp
5 stars hands down. I have a million allergies and they were super helpful in finding me something that worked. No problem at all. My meal was great. My boyfriend got steak tacos and they were great too and not chewy as steak often times is. The patio area is super cute and has a warm and inviting evening ambiance. Eugene was our server and was incredible. Super knowledgeable and accommodating. Best server we've come across in months!

Soma Sekar B.

Yelp
Ordered vegetarian Fajita for delivery and found the flavors to be good, however the big disappointment was having big chunks of tomato to fill the order? very small portion after leaving tomatoes and was missing salad and guacamole which is a standard for fajitas. Not worth the cost for $16 and left little hungry at the end. Please have some sense of responsibility when you fulfill EACH order you do since by no means you are offering it for lesser price.

Josue M.

Yelp
Food was good small portions but I felt a little discriminated do to the fact that I was wearing my work construction clothes The waiter never came and asked if we needed anything I had to get up myself and ask for a refill bad service!!!!
google avatar

Dana Y.

Yelp
Food and drink are always consistently very good. Had a mojito which tasted great. Service is prompt and casual. Be back in April next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Just delicious we did take out and all of the food was fresh and portions were plentiful. Mole was a highlight!

Yelp
Las Palomas has great food ! I like their chicken fajitas and their cochinita pabil enchiladas. I find thier beer and margaritas to be reasonably priced. I also listen to some great live music last night. They also have a very nice outdoor patio and the best thing of all is easy parking. For a restaurant to be in business as long as they have they've got to be doing something right ! Don't hesitate to give them a try.
google avatar

Yelp
Tucked in a corner off of Bee Caves, Las Palomar offers creative TexMex in a laid back setting. There is definitely a regional influence on their dishes, coastal Yucatan maybe? Trios Maria enchiladas is very good. Las Veracrusas Seafood dishes have capers and olives wonderful sauce. Unique. Not your normal TexMex. Very nice staff. Prices are fair. Enjoyable.

Yelp
We wanted a reservation for Mexican and it took us here. The burbs of Austin is but 10 minutes from city center. It's a hoping place and the food is awesome. The Limeade was a huge sleeper, get it! They should offer it in a salted glass for a healthy Margarita alternative!

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants going downhill. We went as a family celebration and the manager refused to make something I have gotten there for many years. He was so rude and even came to the table and talked down to us. This is not the Las Paloma's of the past decades we have eaten there. His name was Andrew and he was just pure Rude. I will probably never dine here with our family and friends again
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. Recently I've noticed how empty it is. Today while with my 2 year old, I used one of the tables on the sidewalk to sit and organize her and myself (we had a lot of things, it was hot, we needed a breather). This table was not even near the hostess stand (way ahead of it) and had different furniture. Again, the restaurant was EMPTY inside and out. The manager kicked me and the little one off the table, said we had to leave. I expressed that we were about to, but that we were unaware we couldn't use this table. I was told we had "2 minutes" to pack up and get out. Extremely inhospitable, and lost a valued customer. Handled very poorly and with no class

Liz O.

Yelp
This is my first time to ever leave a negative review, but I was so disappointed on how the situation was handled, I wanted to share my experience. I called Las Palomas on March 30 to make a reservation there for 18 people for May 5 to celebrate our son's college graduation. I was aware that this was Cinco de Mayo, and that we had a large group, but I was assured by the manager, Andrew, that it would not be a problem to make a reservation that large as long as it was before 6 PM. They told me with a group that large we would have to break it into two tables which I told him that was was fine. I live in a different city, but my sister-in-law is local, so she stopped by the restaurant on May 4 to make sure everything was still good for the reservation. The manager, Andrew, assured her everything was set for a reservation of 18. When we arrived the next day, they had two tables set up that only seated 16. They informed us we were sharing the room with another party who also had a reservation for 18. That was totally fine but I looked over and they also only had tables set up for only 16. (They messed up both reservations!) We pointed this out to the hostess but they told us there were no other tables available. We were a bit confused considering we had had this reservation since March 30 and my sister-in-law had even come by the day before to confirm. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Andrew (who I had spoken to on the phone and my sister-in-law had talked to the previous day) said there was nothing he could do. We pointed out they were other tables, but he said those were for reservations. We pointed out that we had a reservation which we had had for over a month and it was for a special celebration. He informed us all the other reservations were for special occasions too. He told us we could just pull two chairs up to the corners of the table. He said he was already losing money on us since we were such a large group using so many tables. I was shocked by this reply. Obviously they did not plan correctly because I don't think any restaurant would ever plan on having two adults sit at the corners of a table when a reservation has been made. At this point, he could've apologized and offered something to us, but he did not. When I suggested him offering something to us he said there was nothing he could do. There were no other tables. I said there's nothing you can do for us, considering we were inconvenienced? It was then he told me he was inconvenienced because of us using so many tables for our reservation. I was shocked by this response. I finally asked if he could give us anything for free. He then offered to get free appetizers to our group. I guess that's better than nothing but I was still so disappointed. I understand mistakes happen, but with all of the planning we did, it would've been nice. If at least the manager apologized for their error and for our inconvenience. He never did. So disappointing.

Yelp
This place has been a staple in the area forever. Some recent improvements but the food is the same. The staff has a bit more turn over lately but again most are doing wonderful. We bring family and friends here when people are visiting us from out of town. This is more interior Mexican food than Tex Mex food. Don't let the shopping center location turn you away. The drinks, the food and the service are great. I hope it stays for decades to come. I do know many of the local shops are experience issues with the new shopping center owners. Please don't kick them all out!
google avatar

Suky L.

Yelp
Went there for a Valentine's dinner event. We felt the manager went over and above to put our table together. The food was delicious

Katherine M.

Yelp
Service was not great. Was greeted and not approached again for at least an hour! I had a baby, so time was of the essence. Thankfully the host came up to me asking if I would like to pay for my drink (as i had my card on the table for over 40 minutes to give a clue I needed assistance!) Was not able to order any food and still never saw my waiter! Was in the restaurant well over an hour. Never experienced anything like it! Will definitely not be returning.
google avatar

Warren N.

Yelp
I've only been here one time & my experience was really good. This was one of the most solid traditional (not Tex Mex) Mexican meals I've had in the Austin area. The service was informative and friendly. The Molé & Cochinita Pibil were delicious. The chile relleno was also very good. The chips and salsa were exceptional (even though often criticized by food snobs for being cliché!). The cocktails were fantastic. They use herradura for their house drinks which was a pleasant surprise. Margarita and Paloma were legitimately handmade with fresh juice. the atmosphere was pleasant and tucked away... dining in Westlake leaves a lot to be desired, so this place was a needed and welcome discovery and I will probably be a regular since I live in the area. Apparently they've been serving solid Mexican cuisine here for over 30 years!
google avatar

Mariah K.

Yelp
I liked this place but it was EXTREMELY loud to where you couldn't hear the people sitting at your table and it's also a small space and so much is crammed in. The tables are small too so it's hard to fit everything on it. I know she was busy but the waitress didn't come out after getting the food until the end to clear off the plates. I was in need of something to go with my meal and she never came to help out and ti never saw her to even try to flag her down. Not the best service but food it good.
google avatar

Kathi M.

Yelp
They served tacos with nacho cheese squirted into them. I think shredded Mexican cheese is not too much to ask in a plate of chicken tacos!
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
Las Palomas never disappoints, another wonderful experience, I tried the new spicy avocado enchiladas. They were amazing. And, the service was fabulous, way to go Ryan!!!
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
This is my go to restaurant for Mexican comfort food. I don't like mole sauce but I LOVE their mole enchiladas.

Teresa H.

Yelp
The best in town! Delicious food and great service! We went on a Wednesday night to see a Jazz band called The Brew. They're amazing and made our dinner so much more enjoyable!!
google avatar

Kaley S.

Yelp
My brother and I ordered the chicken quesadillas last night, but we were pretty disappointed. The portions were very small for the price paid. The food was good, but I definitely believe there are better deals easily found in Austin for similar (or better) tasting food.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Great interior Mexican. Get the Las Palomas plate and you'll have a strong sampler of the best things there. Assuming you add a corn soup appetizer. Mole enchiladas are outstanding as is the conchinita pibil. Their chicken Verde enchiladas are a fresh, light revelation. The consistency was better when the mother was still in the kitchen, but Th-S is always solid. As a somewhat funny aside, I got fired on a Saturday for not really being a very good waiter (I wasn't) but I was back the next day as a customer. Seeing me surprised them but I said I can still eat here right :) and then sent me a nice dessert as a little nicety. I've been going ever since.
google avatar

Irwin F.

Yelp
Good reason why no one here on a weekend night. Watered down $25 margarita is ridiculous. Should have stuck to our regular Mexican place, oh well.
google avatar

Tonja D.

Yelp
Came in last week & discovered my old neighbor Joe Rodriguez from, The Brew was playing. So tonight I invited my friends. We made reservations for 12 & when I got there even asked if I could get some tables in main room by band. I was told by manager & other server that they couldn't because they needed those for dinner service. They seated us in a room in farthest room of building by bathroom. There were consistently 5-6 tables OPEN the entire time & band came to our back room in back to wish us 2 birthday girls happy birthday. Way to go. Service industry used to like looking like they were full up & now what?

James M.

Yelp
Service: meh Chips and Salsa ($2): too spicy with no other flavors Salad: meh, "Chicken Fajita" tastes like it came straight from a can Empanadas: almost decent (one cheese, one beef and celery)

Lily S.

Yelp
First of all the food is not that special...can get it practically anywhere in Texas. Second. We were with two other couples. They were drinkers and big time eaters. I asked the waitress for separate checks and she said they couldn't. Could not believe they couldn't do that. We ended up paying more for no reason. Third. The music is so damn LOUD you can't even talk in that restaurant! Such a small area and the music takes over on the other side of the wall! Not going there again!
