Las Palomas

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and loved our visit. The room was really large with a kitchen area. Our room (#24) was off a cute courtyard with fun and quirky art. We enjoyed sitting out there. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was cooked to order and fantastic. The dining and reception areas are fun and comfortable. At check in we were offered the most delicious homemade marshmallows (who knew?!) There is free and easy parking and the location is perfect for a stroll to the plaza, restaurants and the O’Keefe museum. The inn is tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood which was fun to walk around. We would definitely stay there again.

We wanted to stay in a locally owned hotel when visiting Santa Fe for the first time, although we are honors members with a national chain. The staff was very accommodating and we were able to get an early check-in, which was much appreciated. Our room was comfortable and very quiet, and breakfast in the lobby area was delicious. The problem came when we had to cut our stay short because of Hurricane Beryl and cancel our last night. (We live in the Houston area) Because we gave only a 30 hour cancellation notice and not the required 48 hours, our room payment was not refunded. A hurricane is an extraordinary event and I would have hoped that an exception could have been made. It was very disappointing and I guess we need to stick to chain hotels when traveling. Beware of this when booking.

Very charming, nicely appointed place to stay. Great location, close to downtown Santa Fe. Large room with fireplace, AC, sofa, coffee table, coffee maker. Comfy bed. Delicious breakfast and coffee included in stay. Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. My only notes to pass along are- note the hotel is on several levels (like 5 steps up to this level, 4 steps down to a different level, etc)- which is super charming, but also somewhat awkward if you have a lot of luggage or are mobile-impaired. Also- the plumbing in the room- while hot water was readily available, it either came out SUPER TURBO out of the faucet, or just a trickle- not much in between. But I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I booked this hotel because we prefer small boutique hotels over large cookie cutter chains. |It appeared to have a commitment to the “boho” creative asthetic which we both love. The coffee & breakfast were also draws. ||My advice would be to actually inspect your room before check in. I believe that the property is in need of renovation & freshening. Fresh paint & repairs. The potential exists for this to be a remarkable destination. It is not yet there.

I'm not sure where everyone else stayed but I stayed here and this was not the room we had at this hotel. There are no pictures here depicting the filth and even mold we had in our room. The furniture was ripped, old and everything in the room looked like it was recently picked out from a garage sale. The bedroom curtains did not close all the way so we had use an ironing board to hold them closed for privacy. The bathroom had hair and stains on the walls. |We didn't request to move because we were only there 2 nights, but did receive a discount. It was not enough. This property has SO much potential. It's a great location in relation to the square and it's quite quaint on the outside. And there was construction going on while we were there so hopefully they are remodeling. BUT, we paid WAY too much for this room. If you decide to listen to the other reviewers and not me, proceed with caution and at least request a recently updated room.

We have stayed here twice. The rooms are Casitas - a true Santa Fe experience. It's the hotel stay you never forget. The sheets are silky soft. There was a fountain outside our room one time (#6). The breakfast is homemade with fresh croissants and yummy New Mexico chilies. The chai lattes are beloved by our kids. They talk about them often:) The employees are so hospitable, too. One time we were hauling items on a trailer and they found a great place for us to park so it was out of the way.

Avoid this place if visiting Santa Fe. Be advised that inn website room pictures may have no basis in reality, possibly just downloaded from Shutterstock. Our room appeared not to have been materially changed since the 1960s, and quite possibly may have been normally used as some sort of on-site employee lodging (and most certainly was not shown on the inn's website). Housekeeping staff used our small courtyard seating area as a lunch/break area by day, and a huge bright security light on at night rendered it unusable. Bathroom had broken flooring tile (from the 1960s) and hard to tell if clean. Entryway door had quarter-inch gaps and a window in the top portion of the door looked right into the bathroom. Bed had no spread or comforter, just a mattress with sheets and pillows, and the bedroom, oddly, was a tall step above the small sitting area, and could have been dangerous to guests in the dark of night. Had to drag our luggage and belongings through a narrow gate and up 8 stairsteps to find our room, no luggage carts or bell help. We put up with this for two nights only because that was the length of our stay, otherwise we would have moved to a more reputable Santa Fe lodging (and we know there are many since we have traveled to SF frequently). Having made this reservation months ago as the last stop of an extensive western driving trip, we were sorely disappointed by the quality of this place. Recommend avoiding, this place was a complete disappointment. Other, better-appointed lodgings are abundantly available at the same rates.

Quaint rooms and courtyards with a trickling stream outside our door. Great location with a short walk to the square, shops and restaurants. We had 3 couples and all rooms were similar. The breakfast each morning was great. Multiple menu items to choose from along with a gourmet coffee, fresh fruit and pastry.
