"Located in the heart of Kings Beach, across the street from one of the most popular stretches of sand in the Lake Tahoe Basin, Las Panchitas is the place to fill up on Mexican food after a day in the sun. The family-owned Mexican restaurant is known for serving up huge plates of food, such as the combination platters of tacos, tamales, enchiladas, and chile rellenos dished up next to a generous serving of rice and beans. The margaritas at Las Panchitas hit the spot, too." - Julie Brown Davis

Yelp
Food was so good. Pretty busy place. Still order came out in time. We ordered to go. Food was well packed. One suggestion is : please label the food. It helps to identify veg vs meat !

Yelp
Came here on a random whim. Huge party out at front but considering that we were seated quite quickly. Another server had to bring us our menus. The tostada itself was the only good thing about the meal. I had ordered beef but they way it was cut up reminded me of dog food tbh. My mom enjoyed her meal. The panchitas. The chips and salsa were good. Lacking in the chips imo and no refill. I'm definitely spoiled with Mexican food living in soc.

Yelp
Walked in on a beautiful summer evening. We were greeted right away. Within 2 minutes of being seated water, chips and salsa appeared. Drinks were very reasonable we had the white and red sangrias. Ordered tacos, tamales, enchiladas, rellenos. All of it was very good. Good sized portions. Reasonable prices. Even though the restaurant was busy and they had one very large party, the service was great. Gio, our server, was friendly, engaging and took great care of us.

Yelp
Got 2 tacos with rice and beans and a tostada to go... my son didn't check the bag and they didn't give us the tacos, but I checked my receipt and I did pay for them, rice and beans were good, the tostada was ok, the meat didn't look right was supposed to be carne asada looked like shredded beef, wasn't spectacular, the salsa that came with the chips sucked, had no flavor at all. Definitely a tourist grab spot for Mexican food. Would not go again.

Yelp
Great food, exceptional service!! We got so much excellent tasting food for our money. We ordered carry out and they let us sit out on the patio in the sunshine at a table without ordering anything while we waited!!

C K.

Yelp
Terrible. Only 3 tables in the entire restaurant were sat and we still no menus were brought to us. After getting my own menus, the food came out in 3 minutes and was not hot. (Cheese inside my son's burrito was cold). The Cadillac margarita was terrible, the only good thing was the bottle of beer was cold.

Erin B.

Yelp
Nice patio dining, good food. The service was a bit spotty at times but not a deal breaker. Perfectly sufficient for a decent lunch while spending a day at the beach.

Yelp
My husband and I came to have lunch here, we are from out of town, and upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a woman and I might add we weren't greeted nicely. She actually look kind of bothered that we were there. We sat down and we were pleasantly surprised on how delicious the food was was But we also noticed When other patrons came in to eat. She was extremely nice to them them and smiling at them and I did notice that the people that she was nice to were of white nationality. I just don't understand why we were treated like that. Not nice at all! After paying the check and we got up to leave, she didn't even say thank you or even acknowledge us. The food I give a 10 the hostess that I'm assuming is Panchita I give a 0. She should treat all patrons equally and kindly she made us feel unwelcomed.

Yelp
Went there the other day for lunch and was very disappointed. We had Pronto plates with a carne asada burrito and a bean and cheese burrito. The carne asada meat was tough and had no flavor. The bean and cheese burrito had no cheese. I ordered black beans but received refried beans. The refried beans were bland. The Spanish rice had no flavor and was dry. The salsa was bland. The chips seemed a bit old. A good salsa, salt or chili sauce may have helped the meal. We will not go back.

Yelp
By far my favorite spot for Mexican food in the area. The cheese enchilada and Chile relleno are my favorites. Great margaritas too. I haven't had anything from the menu I didn't like. Highly recommend Las Panchitas, great food and great service always.

Rachael V.

Yelp
Delicious, funky hometown style restaurant. The food is solid and very affordable! My husband was very pleased with the value for the quality of food! We had great service as well this is a "seasoned" restaurant and you can tell. I had the chile verde which was tender and well spiced. My husband liked his tamale and beef enchilada. My daughter enjoyed her burrito as well. Highly recommend!

Roy

Yelp
I adore this place! So surprised reviews aren't higher! The owner is SO NICE! He always remembered to give me lime wedges for my (FREE!) chips and salsa just based on remembering my usual to-go order! The chicken taquitos app is always great and with the chips it's enough for a well priced meal! Splurge though and get the shrimp fajitas (ask for just the big shrimp) and wrap all the components in a flour tortilla and drizzle them with drawn butter and it's the closest you will get to ordering lobster in Rosarito!

Michele M.

Yelp
Recommended to us by a local. The place was clean, open and airy and decor was really pretty. Staff was super friendly. We ordered the enchilada and taco combination plates and they were delicious. The portions were huge and the food came out so quickly. We loved everything about this restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Michael T.

Yelp
Scrumptious wonderful food. So tasty, great service. Extremely fast at getting food out as well they don't mess around at Las Panchitas.. Owner has great style wonderful drip. Most affordable place I went to all week in Tahoe as well. No idea why this place doesn't have better ratings would imagine it's probably from snobby old people that enjoy overpaying for bland ass food that lacks any sign of seasoning.

Yelp
Drove by this area and found this gem to sit down and eat at with the family, here is a breakdown of everything sampled and how everything faired my daughter literally had cheese, quesadilla minus the tortilla just cheese lol, per her it was delicious son had 2 beef tacos with cilantro and onions per him very good wife had Combination Fajitas with shrimp and chicken - tortillas on the side, latin slightly reddish rice, with pica di gallo (salsa), creama (sourcream), guacamole and of course refried beans. The shrimp and chicken was very flavorful pairs well with the rice, beans, gauc, creama, and salsa in a tortilla definitely order this I was able to sample these items Chille Relleno - filled with cheese, flavor wise very good, paired with beans, rice and veggies no tortilla needed order this dish carne asada taco regular - flavorful, tender shredded taco regular - not my favorite but seasoned well fish taco regular - i'm going to need to order 2 or 4 next time of this item, lol order this carnitas taco regular - decently flavored, sadly I would pass on this item next time If in the area visit this spot and eat in, fairly dark in here, will need to come during the day Food **** Price $$ Service **** helpful staff Ambiance *** looks slightly runned down, very dark inside at night almost like a date night steak house type dark

Yelp
I checked in and I immediately received a coupon of 15% off my purchase. The service was outstanding, food came out fast, and the taste food was above average. Finally, restaurant is close to the beach, has clean restrooms , and has indoor/outdoor seating.

Jessi D.

Yelp

Sajia H.

Yelp
The food was tasteless and bland for Mexican food. The guacamole did not taste like guacamole idk what it was.

Stacy C.

Yelp
my husband and i stopped here after a day at the beach. the food was delicious and tasted very authentic. we had the combo fajitas, margs and micheladas, it was spectacular. our server was attentive and our food came out quickly. we sat outside and it was beautiful.

Stefanie P.

Yelp
Casual spot with outdoor seating for the warmer days. The food was enjoyable with a decent size menu and good prices for the area...much better than we saw at a near by Mexican restaurant with a smaller menu.

Chip D.

Yelp
My wife and I have dined at Las Panchitas in the past, and we were looking forward to going there in our next trip to Lake Tahoe. We were there tonight, but the food was not as good as in the past. The rice, beans and chicken (enchilada) were under-seasoned. A little too bland for what we were expecting. The staff is courteous and our dishes were prepared quickly.

Nelly S.

Yelp
Fajitas were amazing!!! I could have eaten here everyday of my trip. The restaurant is super busy and the waiters are hustling! No doubt, if I am back in King's Beach I will return for some fajitas.

Misty R.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner while in town on vacation. Nice customer service and food came out quickly. I always order just a basic bean burrito with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. I got just what I ordered. No complaints! The food was good. Nice portion of chips and salsa as well. Stop in and enjoy!

Candi H.

Yelp
I don't know if it's because we looked like some young teens who wouldn't t be able to pay for our food (we weren't by the way, all young adults) or if they genuinely forgot about us but either way the service was AWFUL. When we were sat down it 7:00pm, by the time we finally got our orders taken it was 7:40, we got our food around 8:00 (not mine though, apparently tacos take longer, I had wait an extra 10min for my food) then we asked for the bill, waited an extra 15 minutes and finally left around 8:30pm. People came in, ordered, got their food, and left before we ever ordered. The food tasted okay... but there was issues with the FOOD too. My boyfriend got steak quesadillas and ended up with chicken quesadillas. My friends chicken taquitos were burnt. My other friend didn't get any meat in his enchiladas. And my tacos were full of cheese (which I can't have) that I had to pick out, but there was no specification on the menu on what would be in them. I didn't have a chance to ask because the waiter took our order too fast and ran to another table immediately. We didn't say anything about our food when we finally got it either because we just wanted to eat and leave. Oh also you had to pay for the chips and salsa... so yeah definitely don't recommend.

Yelp
My family has loved Las Panchitas for years, this summer my young grandson was able to have dinner here. Many great family meals and celebrations here. Authentic Mexican food, great Margaritas and awesome service.

Erica R.

Yelp
Had dinner here last night with a hankering for nachos and tacos. The reviews highlighted margaritas and patio seating, so we were in! We were immediately greeted and seated when we arrived. It was busy but not super crowded yet. The restaurant is well maintained with newer tables and chairs, and the bathrooms were well maintained. This restaurant is an indoor/outdoor place and the vibe was perfect for a lakeside eatery. Within moments of sitting down we had chips, salsa and ice water. Awesome! Our server took drink and appetizer orders within a couple of minutes of arrival and they were all served promptly. Super friendly and on-top of it. The classic margarita with salt was delicious and the perfect bit of strong. The nachos were a awesome!!! They had a generous amount of cheese, beans and enchilada sauce (which is a bonus in our book)! Topped with guacamole, sour cream and plenty of jalapeños! Hit the spot! The crunchy chicken tacos were excellent! Flavorful chicken and crunch shell! Perfect! There were five in our party and we tried tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The enchiladas had a perfect cheese snap and the sauce was great. My son had the carnitas burrito and loved it. My husband loved his fish taco on a soft tortilla with yummy salsa. The beef taco was a hit with my FIL who said it was cooked nice and tender. The rice and beans were on-point for what we wanted. The servers and bussers were hustling the whole time and always courteous. You could tell there were several regulars enjoying a meal, which says a lot. This was a great little sit-down gem and we will definitely return. Thanks for the great experience!

Yelp
Omg not only is the food amazing and the chips and salsa are delicious, but Gio our waiter is so fun and is the best waiter ever. I had the Asada taco, chicken enchilada and a pork tamale meal with rice and beans. The sauce is amazing and all three items and rice and beans were better than I've had in a very long time. This place is a must.

Yelp
Las Panchitas is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is authentic and consistently good. Some of our favorites are the chili Colorado and cheese enchiladas. The fajitas are also a favorite along with their delicious tortillas. This is one of those restaurants where the owner is always there and creates a warm welcoming environment. They have a big menu and many great combinations as well as delicious guacamole and salsa. It's right across from the lake and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is consistently good, prompt and attentive. We love Las Panchitas.

Andy F.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service, great atmosphere. Can't say enough good things about this place. Probably one of most best bang for your buck, great portions. Employees are very nice. One of the best places you can go to at the Lake Tahoe area. Worth a 45 min drive if you are close!

Jay T.

Yelp
This is one of the decent spot in Kings Beach area. Whole strip is crowded and many options for dine in. It's a family owned business serving Mexican food. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. The ambience so nice; it gives that typical Mexican place vibe once you enter. I want to give two separate reviews here. One for the food and another one for the service. And they are contrasting. Service - "Please wait here to be seated" - that's what you see the moment you reach the front door. And we waited for good 10 mins, nobody showed up. I went inside to check and they were not even aware that customers are waiting outside. We were initially planning to dine in, but we couldn't find a convenient spot, so decided to takeout. Person who was at the bar pointed me to the menu; and then we waited for another 10 minutes to place our order. The lady who stood there completely ignored us, her focus was totally on a larger who group came after us. She took our order only after taking order from the group. And she said "20 minutes wait" for the food. I went out, walked around the strip for a while and went back after 30 mins, food wasn't ready. Another 5 minutes, she came back with the bag. Yelp offers a 15% discount for a check-in, but she had no clue how to do it. Basically I couldn't use it either. Food - We ordered Chicken burrito, veggie burrito, large quesadilla and a grilled cheese sandwich. No issues with the order, very well packed and they have added a big bag of tortilla chips too. Both the burritos were damn good - delicious and quite authentic. It came with bean and rice as well. Quesadilla was rich in cheese and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese sandwich was a big let down. Ordered it for my son, but it was a bit hard. Glad he liked the quesadilla instead. The tortilla chips were good too. Crispy and gave that homemade feel, especially with the salsa they packed. They have around 8-10 parking spots; open only for their quests. In a strip where parking is so hard to find, they should enforce it. We were able to find one, but the rest were taken by the people gone to the beach. Food is quite good, but they must offer a better service so that more people can enjoy their food. Even for a takeout, the service was frustrating.

Bruce A.

Yelp
Gia and all the staff are excellent. Food is good and Drinks are great ! Carnitas tacos and pitchers of margaritas! Yum!Been going here for 20 years !

Suzanne P.

Yelp
We left Spindleshanks because we could not get anyone to serve us. We walked a little further to Las Panchitas and so happy we did. We were immediately greeted and seated. They brought us menus, water, chips and salsa. A few minutes later the waiter came and took our order. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. The shredded chicken in my taco and enchilada was very tasty; I didn't even need salsa. The refried beans were perfect and even the rice was good. We will definitely return!

Paul L.

Yelp
BEWARE of this place, they are dishonest. I ordered to-go order from this place, went to pick up my order and they had charged 18% gratuity on my bill. When I questioned them, they said all to-go order or dine in they will charge 18% gratuity on top. I totally disagree. My understanding is gratuity is tips that I pay to server that service me when I dine in. If you are the owner of this place, please change your wording on your bill and train your staffs on how to service customer the right way. Also I had tried to cancel my guava drinks because you don't have enough guava drinks. Please take responsibility and help me cancel instead FORCED me to get other drink instead. At the end when I walked out of the restaurant halfway, the same rude guy told people around him to let them know Bay Area people do not welcome here. How unprofessional are this restaurant. I will never come back to this restaurant.

Niccoli S.

Yelp
I'm a self taught Mexican Food critic , and the only "white guy" in a large Mexican family (I have a Lovely Mexican Wife) I was not expecting to find "Authentic Mexican Food" at a tourist saturated location, North Lake Tahoe Our waitress was new, but she was genuine and friendly I was really surprised by the quality of food that came out of this restaurant The beans were spot on, rice was really good, and the relleno was a 9/10 The chili verde is the third best I have ever eaten (I have eaten a lot of chili verde) and yes I will absolutely be back for the chili verde as it's what Mexican food dreams are made of I am really hard to impress with Restaurant Mexican food- In my experience, the closest I have gotten to an actual meal in Mexico (I lived in La Paz, Baja Mexico for a bit) are food trucks where no one speaks English This place has a good thing going and "We" will definitely be back Outside seating was very enjoyable, and the prices were good I almost forgot!! The salsa that comes with the chips was almost as good as my wife's salsa- Next time I go I am definitely going to be buying a large container of that Salsa Good job Las Panchitas

Joshua M.

Yelp
Good Mexican food, they give salsa and chips before the meal and food was good. I'm a big eater and couldn't finish my plate.

Geoff R.

Yelp
Friendly and quick service....food is decent, but not out of this world...prices are very reasonable

Serge L.

Yelp
It wasn't that good. First off, the place had plenty of seating available and even still they made us wait awhile to get us seated. After initially seating us, it took about 10 minutes or so for somebody to come help us with an order. Since it took so long, we ordered everything all at once. Drinks were ok. I ordered a salad with my meal. They ended up bringing me the wrong dressing which they quickly corrected. The bad part is they did not drain the salad at all. It was a watery mess. They say their specialty is Chile relleno but honestly, it's no different than most Mexican restaurants. My son's burrito wasn't even folded up all the way. When he went to grab it, everything fell out. Service was extremely slow. My wife and other son liked what they ordered so all was not lost. I don't think I'll go back though. There's plenty of other choices

Trisha H.

Yelp
food wasn't good, and their construction workers blocked off access to the handicapped parking, which is illegal. no signage to reroute. told me to shut up and eat my food. when i told the manager , he said it was fine. so i guess its ok to violate codes at this place.

Bethany C.

Yelp
Just driving through and we were starving! Stopped here and so thankful we did! The Chile Colorado was fantastic!!!! The beef was tender and so flavorful. Stop in and enjoy, you'll be glad u did!

Rachel K.

Yelp
Terrible food, and poor service. I tried to ask questions about the food, but she ended up writing down my order without answering any of my questions. We both ordered wet burritos, and we got a fork but no knife. It was extremely difficult to eat. We only ate the food because we were really hungry, it was terrible. Really low quality, even the chips tasted like cardboard.

Melanie H.

Yelp
Both food and service were excellent!! Super friendly staff, meals came out quick. They were able to accommodate our walk-in party of 8, and the food was so good!!! Perfect stop after a long drive up to Tahoe.

John A M.

Yelp
Came here with my family of 7. New management is amazing and the food was fantastic. All 7 of us enjoyed our food and the drinks were strong. Very reasonably priced as well!

Jai B.

Yelp
All around a great experience. Parking was easy to find in the back. They weren't too busy on a Wednesday winter night and got our food for 9 quickly. I really enjoyed the veggie fajitas and thoroughly appreciate that they had black beans instead of retried beans as an option. VERY reasonably priced particularly in a touristy area. Generous portion sizes too! I wish u had been hungrier

Jaxson K.

Yelp
Great place for takeout if your visiting Kings Beach with the family. Be sure to try their margaritas, they're outstanding. Service was top tier. Definitely recommended!

Lorraine D.

Yelp
Food was fresh and warm. Very tasteful. Would recommend this place if you are looking for that Mexican taste while in kings beach

Mariah B.

Yelp
Delicious traditional Mexican food. Large portions. We are a family of 6 and each of us enjoyed our meals and tried something different. Ambience was intimate and the restaurant was clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Nick L.

Yelp
Order 1 burrito and 6 tacos to-go. They added an 18% gratuity fee to my bill without my knowledge. Their menu stated that an 18% gratuity will be automatically added for parties of 6 or more -- scummy.

Leila E.

Yelp
Too. Good. Amazing service, and a lovely family run businesss!! Couldn't reccomend more. (ps i'm mexican)

Emil I.

Yelp
My family and I were looking for a Mexican restaurant here in the Tahoe while we are here vacationing and most of them don't have great reviews. Las Panchitas did not have a review score that was fit for them either but we are convinced that it just people don't give Mexican restaurants around here proper reviews ratings. We were greeted be a overwhelming happy staff and seating immediately, our table was provided with baskets of chips and salsa and were never left half full and would toped off constantly. The food came out quickly and very warm . Each one of us got a different style of food from this place , like taquitos and steak picado or albondigas soup. My wife and I each had our own dishes like two taco plate and enchiladas. This place deserves a much higher rating and just for the service alone I would give it a 5 all day long. The food was promptly served and had flavor so a 5 as well . Haven't tried any of the Mexican restaurants yet but I'm sure that those review's deserve a reevaluation as well.

Aylin P.

Yelp
Great customer service, the view was beautiful. Most authentic Mexican food in the area! The margaritas were great also!
