This is a new Mexican sandwich shop tucked away in an interior corner suite of a small plaza just down the street from Las Cuatros Milpas on Logan Ave. There is limited parking in the lot so spaces could be unavailable during peak meal times. A couple of tables were available inside for dining, but the setup here is more conducive for take-out orders.
Breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, and tortas comprised the food menu while the beverages spanned from aguas frescas, natural juices, and smoothies. I bought a namesake La Rica Torta which had pork, loin, ham, and turkey as meats. Each torta came dressed with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, jalapeno, and chipotle sauce on a toasted roll cut in half.
My torta was assembled into neat, tight layers inside the bread. The jalapeno was pickled so that cut down the amount of heat. The serving size was definitely sufficient to quell my hunger. To wash down the carbs and proteins, I also purchased a large papaya aguas fresca. The worker used a fresh fruit to make the drink which was sweet and refreshing. The business offers a 10% discount for a check-in or if you have a military ID.
