Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine - Review - Doral - Miami - The Infatuation

"This place has a couple locations in South Florida—but don’t go out of your way for any of them. The croquetas are a bit small and limp, and the vaca frita isn’t very crispy. It’s a big, roomy restaurant with friendly service, and decent Cuban food—perhaps good for a last minute group dinner. But you can find better Cuban restaurants in Miami." - Virginia Otazo

Excellent food and service. We had multiple appetizers (if you go before 7, they have happy hour)… all were good at a very reasonable price. Also had happy hr drinks - mojito and some wine. Would recommend. As an added bonus… there is an ice cream place a few doors down (spiked Rich nitrogen ice cream).

Google
Tasty Cuban food and very value priced considering the cool location at Doral Yard! Loved the service too! The black beans (often a barometer for how good a Cuban restaurant is) were exceptional! The Snapper was tasty and value priced. Chicken Vaca Frita was moist and delicious. The mariquitas could've been more golden brown, and the dessert, Natilla was disappointing or this would be a 5 star review. Still, I'd highly recommend and will be back. Even loved the music as well as the decor. Yoli, our hostess was a sweetie and hospitable as was Pedro our server. Will definitely be back!

Google
This has always been my favorite Cuban restaurant, and it never disappoints… Pedro was absolutely amazing and Chelsea as well… I will always continue to come here and to the rest of their restaurants… thank you so much for an amazing experience… ❤️🙏

Google
Delicious traditional Cuban food, came in for an early lunch and had croquetas, soup, and they have the best sangria here!!! Miri was our waitresss and she did a great job to offer amazing service. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area or coming to miami!

Google
After coming to Miami, we were looking for an authentic place to have an early dinner and we stumbled across Las Vegas Cuban cuisine. It was the best accidental experience we could’ve imagined ever. The food was delicious. The service was exemplary. The drinks were very tasteful. Do yourself a favor and come here and experience the Cuban cuisine of this amazing restaurant. The manager, Norma was very insightful in helping us choose our entrees.

Google
Incredible service!! Amazing environment! My Friend Carlos introduced me to this amazing restaurant in Doral, wow very impressive. The food was amazing, the drinks were excellent and they had live music when I was here.

Google
The place is fantastic. The food better than fantastic and the service from another planet. Thanks to Shelsy, very supportive and fantastic person. We want to return often to this place and highly recomendable.

Yelp
Las Vegas Cuban cuisine was a great choice for lunch while staying in Miami. A nice clean spot with great food. We started off with the garlic bread that was complimentary. We then ordered the empanadas and it was really tasty, flaky crust and tender meat. For the entree we ordered the fried chicken chunks and the grill fish. We were very satisfied with our choices. I couldn't leave without trying the Margaritas because I knew it was going to be an excellent choice and it was. Not a bad spot, the wait staff were very helpful with suggestions and very friendly. Its worth the trip.

Yelp
Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine, has a lively and inviting space with an atmosphere that draws you in. While we enjoyed the mojitos and flavorful food. I would say it was the service that truly sets it apart and makes you want to come back for another opportunity to find your favorite dish.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for this excellent Cuban restaurant. We had the combo appetizer and the trio meat plate. Both were excellent. The tamales and the yuca frita excellent. Must try while in Doral. Our server Miri was very prompt and courteous.

Yelp
We ordered food for delivery so maybe it would be better in person but in our opinion there's much better Cuban food in Miami. The pros: What is delicious here is the lemonade, white rice with black beans, and maduros (fried sweet plantains) We also had the vaca frita and Lechón Asado. The vaca frita had good tasting onions but the meat was drier than normal and a bit bland. The pork (Lechón Asado) was super bland and not very nice quality chunks of pork. The mojo sauce was non-existent this was so bland. Since the sides and drink were the only thing we liked we won't be back here

Yelp
Place is nice and big. Service is ok. Had the palomia steak It was just ok . Also had the flan which I didn't think was great either . The bread they bring u is good

Yelp
Nice neighborhood Cuban restaurant in new Doral downtown. Good menu serving quality traditional Cuban cuisine. Excellent Cuban sandwich with crispy fries. Flan and Cuban coffee. Yum! Nice contemporary interior and bar. Good service. Would return for dinner.

Yelp
Great service and the Cuban bread and cocktails were spot on. Music and atmosphere were great.

Yelp
Cuban sandwich hit the spot...lots of meat and cheese. The fried plantains were light, crispy and so good! Pass on the fries just double up on the plantains! But the star of the show was the mojo de ajo...a garlic dipping sauce. If you love garlic this sauce will make your heart smile! The sauce was amazing on the plantains and the sandwich!

Yelp
4 stars for the service by Denys, he's been by far one of the best servers I've had in a while! The food today was mid I usually love coming to Las Vegas because of their rice and today it tasted old, and over cooked, even my daughter who loves rice actually spit it out. The only thing that was really good were the mariquitas and my cappuccino.

Yelp
Food is excellent a lot of food very for the price Excellent service very fast and come out fast no errors The ambience was nice no laud people We order some Mojito and taste like lemonade with no alcohol maybe because they don't want costumer get drunk I recommend to order different drinks . Friday night they have two person playing Cuban music very nice we enjoy Recommend to everyone

Yelp
Ok the good, service was pleasant. Bathroom was clean. The bad things is the main reason to go to any restaurant is the food. The food just had a stale, old, poor quality taste to it. It's like they used the cheapest ingredients available. As much as I love Cuban food, this place will be of my list forever.

Lisa S.

Yelp
The food is always outstanding here, from the buttery cuban bread, to the tender lechon asado, and the delicious plantains! I could eat here every day :)

Yelp
While in Miami we visited this restaurant on a recommendation. We visited on a Thursday night and they had live music which was great. Our server was Pedro who was very attentive and explained a dish my wife inquired about. The Mojitos were delicious. I had a beef dish (Rojo Vieja) which was perfect. My wife had chunks of chicken in a garlic sauce also delicious. Definitely a great place. Can't wait to return to Miami to eat here again.

Yelp
Server, Pedro, was extremely attentive. I ordered the chicken chimichurri with garlic shrimp, sweet plantains, rice and beans. The food came out at a decent time but my chicken was under cooked. Pedro returned it to the kitchen and I waited less than 10 minutes for a replacement dish. The garlic shrimp was not cleaned you can see the black digestive track. Overall decent family place

Yelp
Couldn't have been more impressed with the amazing food we had at Las Vegas. From the mariquitas plantain chips with the garlic dipping sauce to the masa de cerdo to the fried fish special, everything was excellent. The service was great and the waiter and the young woman he was training were attentive and friendly. They were able to explain each dish and open to substitutions. We will be back in Miami in a week and we plan to eat there before returning home.

Yelp
Very unsanitary!!! Unfortunately I've eaten there many times, never again!!! Any restaurant that caters to public should rate an A as minimum.

Yelp
Summary: The Rabo Encendido(Cuban Oxtail), white rice, sweet plantains for the main dish and the Buñuelos With Anise Syrup for dessert were AMAZING!!!!! Details: Let me start by saying that I love Cuban food! I'm Cuban and living in Miami for the past 50 years (since my teens), I have eaten in just about every Cuban restaurant in South Florida. It is hard for me find a dish, Cuban or otherwise, that I find truly amazing. My wife and I went to Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine in Doral on May 1, 2023; We have eaten at others Las Vegas Cuban restaurants locations in past several years. On the suggestion of our waiter (Warren) I ordered the Rabo Encendido (Cuban Oxtail). It was the most amazing dish that I have eaten in a very long time! This is hearty Cuban classic dish that is packed with flavor. The fork-tender delicious meat just felt off the bone. It was served with white rice, black beans and of course, sweet plantains. Wow, Wow , Wow! I loved it!!!!! Wait there is more! For dessert, I had plans to order my beloved, can't go wrong, typical Cuban dessert; Flan (Custard). But the manager, who had been walking around asking patrons how was the food, recommended Buñuelos With Anise Syrup. I remember my mother making these at home in Cuba when I was a kid. Bingo, another winner! The Buñuelos were nice and warm, the anise syrup was just perfect! While eating something as delicious as these Buñuelos (or any good dessert for that matter) I close my eyes to heighten the taste so that I can truly savor every bite! The staff were attentive and friendly and the restaurant was clean and orderly. The food was served fairly quickly and was nice and warm. I highly recommend the restaurant, especially the dish mentioned above.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with eating here at Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine, food here is so delicious and fresh it just makes you want to keep eating here every day! I love coming here when I am in the mood for a delicious meal, this place has yet to miss on that and I appreciate the restaurant for great customer service as well. If you are in the area or have one by where you live, most definitely check this restaurant out. You'll see what I'm talking about!

Yelp
You know, this is the problem with these kind of restaurants. More money is spent on the decor and real estate and it leaves nothing for the food. Some poor over-worked and under-paid cook in the back who has never microwaved popcorn in his/her life is watching us and laughing away. The avocado salad arrived directly from the fridge with (no joke) balsamic dressing in a plastic container. Serious competition with airplane salads aside, it was served with two wisps of tomato. The avocado slices were clearly blushing brown in shame. My main reason to eat here was for the "vaca frita". The stewed and pulled meat was the only thing with flavor, albeit quite dry. And the rice and beans and boiled yucca were straight from a Las Vegas (oh, I get it!) off-the-strip buffet. Flavorless, as if there was a nationwide shortage of salt. The onions on top of everything were under cooked (raw and crispy!) and oily. How hard is it to sauté onions? Finally, as a treat I ordered the tamales. An utter disappointment as they had no flavor but they still tasted wrong. Perhaps they'd been cooked weeks ahead and laid to rest under a heat lamp just for me. The strip in this Lux Doral is filled with these facades. Fake melting pots of cuisine from around the world. We are falling for it. We are proving to the world that our palates are under educated and keep coming back for seconds. The business employs really kind and attentive waiters and staff and if you asked them if they'd eat this slop, first, they couldn't afford it. But most importantly they wouldn't dare shame their own heritage with the cafeteria fare that claims to be "authentic".

Yelp
Was in the beautiful Downtown Doral so i decided to try out this Cuban restaurant. I will say the staff was very nice and attentive but for the food... we had to ask for bread first off and it wasn't toasted or buttered properly kind of felt like it was rushed. I ordered the steak sandwich which was bland & dry. I tried the Ropa Vieja also with the rice and beans and i will say that was pretty good. I suggest putting more love and attention into the sandwiches and bread for the table.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Las Vegas. No one's drink went infilled throughout the meal. I am not a bean person and I thoroughly loved them.

Yelp
great service by Miry! food was delicious! Everything came out perfect. My kids loved the vaca frita and beans

Yelp
This is one of those places that you go to when you want comforting Cuban food in a casual, no frill atmosphere. You can never go wrong here. I always order either the camarones enchilados with rice, black beans, and sweet plantains or if I'm really hungry- the bistec palomilla. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. Oh, and can't go wrong the sangria here, ever.
google avatar

Yelp
If I were to sum this place up in a word, solid is what I would go with. I was in the mood for a Cuban sandwich, came into Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine on a Tuesday, and we were able to be seated immediately. I ordered the Sandwich Cubano and my wife ordered the Medianoche. Both of these sandwiches are the same between the bun, but the breads are very different. The Cubano bread had a slight crunch on the outside and was soft and flaky on the inside, I would describe it as being comparable to a French bread, while the Medianoche bread was a more firm and sweet bread. For me personally, I preferred the Cubano over the Medianoche though I enjoyed both sandwiches. Your taste preference here will likely come down to which bread tastes better to you. Great spot in a new and trendy part of Doral!

Yelp
Great Cuban food and excellent service in the heart of Doral. Very friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
We went to this Restaurant because We go to one in Fort Lauderdale whenever we are in town and it surpassed our expectations. It is a delightful place with excellent customer service and OMG delicious food and drinks. That mango mojito is simply the best! We had the plantain chips with garlic sauce that is truly scrumptious. My husband enjoyed the creole shrimp and I had the seafood combo with the special sauce. My dish arrived with a pot full of lobster tails, scallops, mussels, shrimp, and fish. There was also a plate with rice and sweet plantains and a bowl with black beans. We topped it off with mango mojitos that were unbelievably good! The place is on a beautifully decorated street and the inside is very spacious and stylish with beautiful music playing. We can't wait to to again!

Yelp
So I was around the area and my friend Tommy let's just go there which I was going to go to another restaurant around her because I've had a bad experience with Las Vegas before so this is how it went I want and we got a picture of sangria and we got a special of the lady was saying it was a ribeye for two people rice and beans and we pay for the extra side the meat gets there and it was not done the way I wanted it it was greasy it had pieces of of fat on it which I thought it was going to be better when the bill came she charge me $80 and I told her before that that I didn't like the way the meat came out well I know what is it that was worth $80 I don't think so that's a rip off

Yelp
The service was great and the food was delicious. They had a duo playing instruments and it was very enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The food was amazing ! My husband ordered the trio and it was a great assortment! The food is very flavorful. I ordered beef empanadas and they were delicious. Our server Pedro was attentive and friendly! We will definitely eat here again when in Doral!

Yelp
How had I not visited this absolute gem until today!?! I've previously visited the Las Vegas Cuisine in Broward a few times, and the food is consistently great. The Broward location itself, though, isn't anything special. It's a little hole in the wall where you go to order, eat, and get out. This Doral location, however, is gorgeous. From the ceiling at the entrance, to the oversized plantation shutters throughout the dining area, to the electronic mirrors in the bathrooms...the place is really nice. As for the food: amazing. My husband and I ordered mariquitas as an appetizer and nearly downed a basketful in 10 minutes flat. As for the entrees, he got the palomilla with rice, beans and platanitos and didn't even need to say how good he found the food. This man is of the breed that orders a ton of food, eats two bites, and is done; not today. He polished off his plate to a level that required a not-so-subtle pants-unbuttoning in the car. As for me, I got the tropical salad with salmon and it was perfectionnnn. Their Don Julio margs are also some of the best I've had. Service: wonderful. Vvvv attentive. Overall, 12/10.

Lissandra A.

Yelp
Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine delivers authentic Cuban flavors with excellent service from Mili, our attentive and friendly waiter. A must-visit for Cuban food lovers in Doral!!!!
google avatar

Francesco R.

Yelp
The quality of the food was mixed. The rice and the beans came out just lukewarm. I have a feeling it's all pre-made and I got the sense we were there on a night that was not very busy so I suspect the food was just sitting around. The sampler plate had beef, chicken, and pork on it. both the shredded beef and the shredded chicken were quite dry. again, I have a feeling this is all pre-made, sitting around, and it dried out because there wasn't a lot of traffic that evening. maybe on a busier night when they are having to make batches of food on a more regular basis it would be better.

Yelp
I love this place!!!! Service, service, service was amazing and Miri our waiter was super attentive. Management was always on top of everything. All of our requests were met and beyond expectations. Definitely coming to this place again and again.

Yelp
I mean where do I begin?!!! This is the place that I choose for my small wedding reception and it was a great decision!! The people working here were awesome, so helpful and they made our day a great one! The food was beyonde good, so tasty and at a wonderful price.

Yelp
I simply love the food at Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine. It's authentic and delicious dishes are sensibly priced. There's outdoor and indoor dining area with ample room and comfortable seating, including regular tables and booths. There's also a good size bar with floor to ceiling windows. The entire place is maintained clean and well organized. The staff is super friendly and very helpful; they provided us some great food suggestions. I had a traditional mojito and the vaca frita for a main course; I finished with the flan dessert and a cafecito cubano. This one of my favorite restaurants and highly recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
Excelente servicio, rica comida, precios razonable!! Que más? Visitamos el restaurante y quedamos deseosos por regresar.

Yelp
As a Cuban-American it pains me to write this review but this place has gone downhill. I came her last night with my parents. We were immediately seated but the service took forever. We waited so long for our food. The waitress was kind and attentive but when the food came it was a total let down. My vaca frita was so salty. The rice and beans were cold and the beans had no flavor. We also ordered mariquitas with mojo and it was a literal a tablespoon of mojo for a whole plate of mariquitas. What a let down. This place used to be good now it's not.

Yelp
Excelent Food. Great service. Danny realizó un buen trabajo. El manager vino a la mesa para personalmente atendernos. Excelente

Yelp
It's ok. If I could I'd give them 2.5 stars. We have been here a couple of times and on each occasion I leave thinking the same "why is it we didn't go somewhere else?" Do not misinterpret me, it is a decent place to dine at when you are hungry but you will not be impressed. We had great service yet the food, although huge portions, was overall just average. We ordered mariquitas, masas de puerco fritas, chicken tenders for kids (those were a 2/5 =not pleasant), vaca frita, milanesa de res, bisté (beefsteak) empanizado, flan de queso, a lime/lemon dessert and a couple of coffees. There was nothing to remember except the great service and the worst coffee I have had in as long as I can remember. I do not know what happened to that coffee, maybe it was the coffee beans, the machine or the evaporated milk but it tasted horrible. I cannot describe it. Just the worst. Someone else had also ordered coffee, but a espresso, and theirs was just as "leave it there" quality type so we might be able to rule out the evaporated milk being the issue here. If you go for lunch you pay better prices and it might not hurt so much. But if it's at night there are many maaaany other cuban restaurants that will be able to better satisfy your tastebuds for the same price. Don't be afraid to drive around and venture out to other establishments. Keep safe.

Yelp
Great Cuban sandwich!!! Very tasty, tons of meat, cheese, and condiments! The sandwich was enough for two. Don't get me wrong, I ate the whole thing and barely touched the fries. Speaking of fries-very go! Worth the wait at 1pm on a Monday! Lots of walk-in traffic!

Yelp
Disclaimer - This is fully a customer service review and does not reflect how I feel about the food despite the lack of professionalism experienced today. I would like to start with the fact that I have been coming here for two years and consider myself a loyal customer going often for lunch, dinner, takeout and have recommended this establishment to my previous and present employer countless times for lunch and take out options. I live in Downtown Doral and I have never had an issue with the servers/chef/food as they have always been kind and provided a great overall experience. Today I made a lunch purchase for a family of 4 and one child and found a small piece of metal in my food. (Said metal was found in Churrasco, rice, beans and maduros. The packaging when ordering take out comes all together in a box except for the beans being packaged separately). Truly not a big deal, it happens. However, when I called to let the management know of my findings the manager that answered asked where I found the metal which I believed was in either the rice or beans as I had mixed it. His response was to replace my rice and beans....... I asked him to repeat himself and again and he said because I found it in the rice and beans he was willing to replace that. Lets just say thats not the response I was expecting so I walked over to bring the piece of metal and show them. I was attended by the same manager that initially answered my call and I went to explain how I did not feel his response was the proper or sufficient. He took the piece of metal to the kitchen and returned explaining it may have come off a pan. As I continued to explain to him my feedback he went on to tell me that I took his resolution the wrong way and I was making a bigger deal then it really was. (Mind you I did not raise my voice, disrespect him or treat him unkindly and whenever a customer would walk in I would stop speaking to not have customers hear about my experience.) Naturally, I was shocked as he continued to invalidate my experience and insinuated that I was being dramatic. He explained that he has only been there for a week and was willing to replace the one meal and that I misunderstood him and now offered to replace the full meal and not just the rice and beans. Quite frankly, if you found metal in your meal and then treated with an attitude and disregard would you care to have the meal again? I asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. I then asked for the owner and he responded that no one was available to speak with me. Assuming no one in a higher position was there to speak with me he should have provided me a name or contact information to address the concern. When I asked who the owner was I was told her name is Irinia and that she would be present tomorrow. Again, I tried to explain how I felt as he continued to cut me off. I told him to keep the meal and left without any apology, solution or regard. I have called the corporate location however, the mail box is full and I could not leave a voicemail. I would greatly appreciate speaking with his supervisor about my experience and receive an apology and resolution to this disregard and lack of professionalism promptly. I hope this manager can be provided with training, development and deescalation techniques on how he should be responding to customers providing feedback. I hope to update my review soon. 03/19/2021

Yelp
Food was good. Service was impeccably good. Love the ambiance. We all enjoyed our dinner

Holly S.

Yelp
Sorry to say this restaurant is disappointing. On a business trip I was looking forward to trying Cuban food. The pork chops were nicely flavored but extremely dry, overcooked and hard to cut, and the vegetable medley of broccoli, zucchini and carrots was soggy. Really kind of sad. The rice and side of beans were good, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff nice, although our waiter forgot a few things. The best part was the exceptional coconut flan. I would skip this restaurant and go across the street to the Peruvian restaurant where we dined the previous night: Pisco y Nazca doesn't have the atmosphere but the food is excellent. And, our server was spot on. It's a much better bet for your money.

Yelp
Thank You Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine for hosting our dinner party. The food, the service, and the ambiance was perfect! We were treated exceptionally our waiter was very helpful and friendly and the host Betty was so great! We will definitely be coming back again soon!!
