Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum

🤩 took my family, for my son‘s birthday. And it was so nice so many cool things to look at and read about. I absolutely recommend this place. Definitely kid friendly. ♥︎

We are vacationing here from Texas and we always make it point to visit as many museums as we can. This one did not disappoint! Great staff! Wonderful exhibits! We made it in time for the shark feeding and we really enjoyed it! Animatronic dinos were really cool! This is a must for museum lovers! They have a really great Egyptian exhibit! And don't forget to visit Africa! Last but not least, the marine section of the museum ! Great visit all around! 10/10! This museum will be on my top 5 list! Will visit again!

This was a great way to spend a day! The Treasures of Egypt exhibit was my absolute favorite, I was geeking out over the artifacts from King Tut’s tomb like crazy. There are so many neat areas and info to be found. I bought tickets ahead of time, but it seems that I didn’t need to, because when I arrived there was no line. This might have also been because I came on a weekday.

Amazing visit! I’m a Las Vegas local, so I’ve spent my childhood coming here, and the upgrades done to the museum recently are great! Low crowds, well priced tickets, and extensive exhibits. The volunteers are also very informative, especially in the dinosaur exhibit. I’m glad to see it’s been kept in amazing shape all these years. I enjoy coming back here frequently, even as an adult with no children. Thank you, Las Vegas Natural History museum, for great memories!

The museum seem small but it have everything that we want to explore and learn. There are actitivies to play with such as sand building, earthquake block buidling, color and scan your dinosaur, feed dinosaur, farming like egyptian, more. Fun quiet relaxing time to get away from the noisy strip during the day.

Been meaning to give this place 5 stars. I took my daughter there during Halloween and she had a good time there. The staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of historical knowledge available to fill your little ones' minds especially if they like wildlife. Great value and family time IMO!

A nice place to beat the heat for part of an afternoon in Vegas. Probably great for kids who are into natural history. We have an ASTC membership (at an out of state museum), and this place honors the reciprocity program. But our membership card does not have an expiration date and the front desk employee made me call them and give her the phone to confirm the expiration date. I wish she could have just called herself if they wanted to verify.

Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They also gave us numerous suggestions for other museums in the area to check out once we told them we were recent transplants. Lots of neat exhibits and we really enjoyed the insect displays and the turtles.

What a great space! There is so much parking and it's just a few minutes drive away from Fremont Street. The museum could do with a little bit of a refresh, but the entry fee is low and the museum exhibits are well done. The King Tuts Tomb is a standout, with pieces donated by MGM. The Marine section is also great, with lots of fish! I do wish there were more educational placards. For example, by the restroom there is a huge snake enclosure with paint above showing the length of types of snakes. However, it was unclear which snake was actually displayed. Depending on how science oriented your group is, I would expect to spend between one to three hours here.

This is a nice small museum that can act as a starting point for kids to get into science topics. It's definitely limited by it's budget but they make do with what they have. The rocks and mineral sections is neat and you can see rock luminescence! The earth history with animals and dinosaurs is cool. Some even move a little bit. There can be some touch up done. The staff are really nice and passionate. They even have a penny squishing machine! Plus they have a decent private parking lot. It's definitely worth a visit once.

We had a great time here! It was surprisingly bigger than we thought. We spent 2.5 hours and my kids probably could've stayed longer if I let them but we were getting hungry for lunch and no food is allowed in the museum so we couldn't eat the packed lunch there. We went with the rainforest exhibit, which was probably the best exhibit because it was very interactive! There was a spider web and monkey bars, all sorts of stuff. And good quizzes that lead you through a maze. But there was also an interactive kids section near the dinosaur exhibit that is there all the time. My kids also had fun doing those activity like building blocks and sand. We also made a stingray through their activities section, which was fun coloring and gluing. Downstairs was an Africa section and the Egypt section was also fun. And there was also an ocean section with live sea animals to look at. So much to see and do. Nice half day visit for us. Parking was free and the museum itself was clean. The bathrooms were a bit dirty esp cuz we went at opening and it looked like it had not even cleaned from the prior day. Also, the area where this museum is located isn't the safest so don't leave things in your car--we saw someone looking into car windows in the parking lot. But besides that, was a great day at the museum and we would visit again!!

Nevada needs to invest in their museums and education. I understand that a museum can only do so much with a limited budget, but the state should be investing much more in this museum. If not, I think this collection needs to be absorbed by the Origen Museum or the Nevada State Museum, both at Springs Preserve. I've been to this museum in 2014 and again today in 2025, both times with my younger sister who was 8 at the time of our first visit. I was surprised that the permanent exhibits haven't noticably changed or been updated in the past 11 years. This is a Smithsonian affiliate museum so I expected some exhibits to have been updated, especially as some of the rooms have corporate sponsors. Unfortunately rather than new stuff added, things that were here like the taxidermied polar bear and live seahorses were missing. We spoke to a docent in the Egyptian exhibit and were astonished to learn that MGM had paid $3 million (in 1990's money) to get exact replicas of King Tutankhamun's grave goods created in Egypt to display at The Luxor. They got special permission to use real ivory, ebony wood and real gold leaf in place of the solid gold items in his tomb. When MGM modernized, they donated the collection to this museum and this museum raised $1.5 million to build a replica of the tomb complex to put these goods in. Unfortunately, the placards are severely lacking in information despite the fact the real artifacts are on display in Cairo at their museums. I found the placards of the real items online. Why not copy the information and then put "replica" on the placards? The whole point of going to a museum is to get indepth information of these items! The fact that only 2 copies of these historical items should be a featured selling point in marketing this exhibit. There is even a couple genuine artifacts, including some with hieroglyphs, but there's no information about what it is or what is says. They've kind of dropped the ball on this special exhibit. The rest of the museum is mostly taxidermied animals, some with just the name of the animal. No information about the animal, why it's on display or the provenance. There is a room on minerals from Nevada and there is also some tanks with fish and a snake. In general, the placards are in desperate need of updating and this museum is mostly geared towards small children about 8 years old and younger. I really do wish that this museum had more money because it's outdated and needs some refreshing. Latest visit: July 2025

This place is absolutely amazing! Great place to take your kids when in LV! My toddler certainly loved this museum! So interactive & fun! For a Sunday afternoon in the summer it was not busy at all. Which is a nice change for a fun kid activity. My toddler was able to enjoy every exhibit. She really loved the Egypt, Dino, & science exhibits the most! It's also great that their souvenir shop is budget friendly! I definitely recommend taking your kids here for a nice little afternoon for them to learn& have fun. Pricing is great! For non residents - only $14 bucks for adults, kids under 3 are free, and it's $7 for kids tickets.

Dad wasn't impressed with the strip so we came here to check it out. It got prehistoric mammals, neanderthal, egyptian farmer and king tut, dinosaurs, aquarium and sand play station, activities, ecological system, quake, feeding dino, playing hide n seek with dino lol, rainforest and more! I enjoyed it!

Living here for 10 years and never been here. Shame on me. Very nice place, little bit outdated, and smells weird since it is old building with low ceiling and no windows. But overall worth to visit. Upon entering you can go to thr right to the room with sea animal. From that room you go straight to the dinosaurs and kids love this part. The fun thing is that you can press the button and hear the sound of each dinosaurs. Also next to each exponate there is a text. There is part with Egypt pyramids and statue and mummies. This part is little scary since it is super dark and you can hear strange noises. If you claustrophobic forget this part. In this area there is part with big projector and there are couple tablets for kids, kids color Egyptian figure and then those figures show up on big projector. Super cool for kids. But I was amazed too. There is also a part like a little play area where little kids can play with microscope, submarine, and different kinds of experiment playing. Make sure to take elevator to go downstairs because there is Africa downstairs. Gorillas, monkeys, lions...... Very nice experience for adults and kids. They also have room for birthday party next to playground.

Again, Las Vegas is always surprising me with it's little hidden gems. Of course, compared to major cities, my expectations for museums are quite tapered but I think the LVNHM holds its own. Came here as a chaperone with my children's kinder field trip and 2.5 hours is a good amount of time for everyone to have their fill of history and play. There were some exhibits with impressive animatronics and technology which I appreciated. There were also quite a few live animals and creatures such as fish, scorpions, snakes, amongst others. It's definitely a nice visit for locals looking for interesting and new things to do with their children (I'd say aged 10 and under). I definitely learned something new and enjoyed the exhibit that showed the various ecosystems around the world.

This is a great museum for children and adults alike. It's very informative, and also a space for local artists to showcase their work! The price is also very reasonable, especially since there's so much to see! The people behind the front desk are also super kind.

Almost 14 years of living in Vegas- and I haven't heard about this museum. I feel ashamed... Good thing I have children now- so I can educate myself Wonderful museum, next to Neon Museum, north of downtown. We arrived around 10 am on Tuesday. There were couple of groups of students. But overall wasn't very busy. A lot of very interesting artifacts, games for kids, my son, who is not even 3 yet- was very engaged with everything. We decided to celebrate his birthday there. They do have birthday celebrations there. And it's very reasonably priced. I spoke to Rosa at the front desk, she was so helpful and lovely. Will update more after our birthday party. But so far- can't wait to go back. I loved it!

Very relaxing and interesting, what I liked about?It was downstairs you could go in and watch the paleontologist.Do their work and aska lot of questions?The man down there is very knowledgeable

This museum is perfect for all ages! My family and I visited--ranging from age 3 to 26--and we all had a great time. There's something for everyone to enjoy. The admission price is already very reasonable, and they also offer discounts for locals and military, which is a nice bonus. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

My husband and i visited on a saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised of how wonderful and extensive the display's are. I absolutely loved the animal display and the amazing artifacts and fossils. I highly recommend a visit with kids or not its great for everyone. Thr prices are fair and locals get a discount, parking is plentiful and they have a cute little souvenir shop as well.

Took a short family trip to Las Vegas, first stop on the list was the Natural History Museum. There is limited parking in front but it's free. Reserved tickets online for $12 each, for children under 12 years, tickets are $6. Show the QR code at the front desk and your in. This museum offered more than I expected. There are multiple exhibits, including Africa, dinosaurs, Egypt, science/technology and a small gift shop. Each section had its own level of interactive learning. There's not many historic artifacts but each room told a story that was easy to follow. Such great family fun.

Fantastic museum for all ages and is well organized. I was looking for some culture and other things to do in Vegas other than the strip. This was a very affordable place to go to, and it was very well laid out. I specifically came here to see the shark feeding which I didn't know we had in the valley. The shark feeding is usually around noon or 2 p.m., but check the schedule online. These are small sharks and and not a huge spectacle. The speaker was very informative and fed the small sharks as she was speaking. The children were very polite and respectful of the animals and were allowed to ask questions afterwards. It was quite wholesome. There were different areas to explore like insects, dinosaurs and fish. The Egyptian section had artifacts donated by Luxor as they are aiming away from displaying cultural items in the hotel/casino. Be sure to check out the souvenir shop downstairs as there are cool crystals mined from Nevada. The lady there was very helpful and I think museums are a great way to learn about your state and some history. It's not a giant museum, but I appreciate how clean and organized it was. Please support local attractions such as these. I think it's worth while for all ages.

Good place to take your kids and family to get away from all the gambling and alcohol on the Las Vegas Strip! It is quite educational and fun, kids, teenagers and adults can enjoy it together. All indoor activities and away from the summer heat or winter cold.

The staff is so nice. The perfect time to go is about an hour before they close when it is quiet. Perfect way to get out of the heat. After walking around stop in the gift shop down stairs for. Pressed Penny. Also bonus if you have kids go to the park in the back for some fresh air. The museum is clean and well organized.

I'm glad I finally visited this place. I personally liked the old feel about it that others have complained about! Fun spot to kill a couple hours at with the kids and it was better than I thought it would be. Kids enjoyed themselves too! I loved how laidback and not busy it was as well.

Searched on old reliable (Yelp) for a fun activity to do w/ the kids today & came across the Natural History Museum. This museum is a gem w/ 2 stories of exhibits to look at featuring life-size realistic animals & fun facts. There are also interactive activities for kids & adults. Our faves included the King Tut/Egyptian exhibit, as well as the sealife one w/ fish, sharks & the cutest little axolotl. This is a great way to kill an hour or two, bonus points that it's educational on top of being fun :) I recommend this museum for both tourists & locals!

Definitely a museum targeted to the younger crowd but still super cute! I'd recommended it for families and children for sure! Not so much for adults.

Excellent museum for the price. Many animal exhibits and the King Tut display was great. Some history of the dawn of man and the dino era. We really enjoyed it, worth a visit.

We decided to come and check out this place out since my daughter has been asking to come here for almost a year since she had her field trip here. She couldn't wait to take us back to go and show us around and see all the exhibits. We were able to spend about 2 1/2 hours here and could've spent more time however, they were closing. Definitely a place to check out if you are a local.

Shark feeding is at 2:30pm Nice clean bathrooms Play area and touch and feel area for kids. Real paleontologist shares his work with kids. Very cool. Kids didn't get bored here. Sections: Marine, and prehistoric marine displays Dinosaur area Africa Egypt Lots of great displays Groups of 10 or people get a discount. I don't remember what the discount was, but it was significantly cheaper than paying individually.

Loved this museum!! Took my five year old granddaughters and around every corner they found more to love. We spent all Saturday morning with few others exploring, playing and enjoying. The place was so clean! Staff kind and helpful and you knew they loved their jobs/volunteer work. Highly recommend

Quality of displays and variety kept us engaged. I was impressed with the realistic displays and interesting facts I learned about Egypt and King Tut. I think this is a good daytime summer activity for people of all ages!

We celebrated my nephew's 3rd birthday here. All the adults loved it. I was particularly impressed with King Tut, the life like dinosaurs, and sharks. The kids loved it, too, and the openness of the space. Will definitely come back again.

Las Vegas Natural History Museum is located E Washington/Las Vegas BLVD N. There is a parking lot, free, for the public. This is my daughter's favorite Museum in Las Vegas. She had originally went here on a school trip, but during some time off from school, we decided to go to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum! We ended up placing reservations online for our tickets on a Monday. Tickets online cost $12.00 for adults and $6 for children 3-12. We ended up booking our reservations for 11:30, but arrived early, around 10:30 with no issues. We were provided a scavenger hunt card, to discover mysteries located throughout the museum. The first area that we explored was the Wild West and the nature. There is a lot of educational material that you can read through. The next area we stopped into was the Marine Life. On certain days, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum has shark feedings available to watch. We didn't make it for that event. The aquariums are nice to see. There are also great educational facts on sharks, whales, and much more! Live sharks and stingrays occupy a 3,000-gallon tank. Across from the Marine Life is a Geology Gallery, Prehistoric Mammals Gallery, and the E. L. Wiegand Foundation Wild Nevada Gallery. Afterwards, we saw the reptile exhibit and then went to the Treasures of Egypt. This was by far my favorite area. There were so many artifacts and a lot of information behind each artifact. I loved the hieroglyphics and learning about the papyrus. There is a cool interactive feature where you can design your own avatar and place it on the screen. The exhibit focuses on some of Egypt's most renowned treasures, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. The exhibit has a realistic entrance to Tut's tomb. My daughter's favorite exhibit was the Engelstad Family Prehistoric Life Gallery. As soon as you enter, there is 35-foot long Tyrannosaurus rex that lowers its head and roars at them, once you press the button to perform it! A Triceratops, Ankylosaur and a ferocious raptor are also on display. It was pretty cool! We actually spent a lot of time at evolution part of the exhibit where you can touch the screen and watch the evolution from water to land for the dinosaurs and reptiles. Afterwards, we went into the Cox Charities Young Scientist Center. This exhibit focuses on becoming a paleontologist and dig for fossils. You can also explore the depths of the ocean as a marine biologist. There is a play-submarine you can enter. There is also a coloring station where you can color your dinosaur, scan it, and have it pop-up on the TV screen. Once we were completed with the Cox Charities Young Scientist Center, we went downstairs one level to the Gary & Matthew Primm African Savanna Gallery. This exhibit focuses on beauty of southern Africa, featuring a watering hole scene and other wildlife. The gift shop is also located on this level. We ended up buying a few items such as [2] T-Shirts, a crystal dinosaur, and dinosaur toys. I'm so glad that I had a chance to finally go to the Las Vegas Museum of Natural History. I've been a resident at Las Vegas for over 14 years, but hadn't had a chance to stop by until now. If you're local or just visiting, you should check out this Museum. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum also offers annual membership which works at a few other Museums located in the United States. My daughter and I had a wonderful time!

What a hidden gem! We were staying at Plaza and decided to stop by this place to take the kids. Entrance fee was cheap, for four adults and two kids it was $58 and there was no time limit, no guide, just go at your own pace. The kids took off and explored every room, every exhibit and they even had an interactive science room and a touch sand pit! The kids had a great time. They loved all the buttons to push to make the dinosaur's make noise. I didn't get to read as much as I would've liked because kids, but it was a great time. The exhibits are clean, working, not torn or ratty looking, it looks like it was just built! It was such a nice area and it has two stories (with an elevator) so you can see everything. Will be back!

I made my first ever trip to the Las Vegas History Museum on Thursday thanks to the go city pass and am really glad that I did. This quaint museum is an awesome way to spend a morning and a great place to come and see some pretty cool exhibits for both adults and kids. When we first started our walk around the property we were in a room full of taxidermy animals and some old tombs that were super cool, I believe those are a temporary exhibit but I could be wrong. This museum also has rooms dedicated to dinosaurs featuring massive replicas that make sounds, a children's science lab full of activities for the little ones to enjoy, an entire room dedicated to Egyptian tombs (I believe this is a permanent room, unlike the other one), and a few other rooms with more animals and the history of both Las Vegas and the state of Nevada in general. Overall, I really enjoyed my walk through at the Las Vegas History Museum and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. The staff working the door was super friendly and the exhibits were great, my only complaint was the lack of magnets dedicated to the actual museum, which is always a letdown. Local or tourist though, this is a fun time and you should definitely come and check this place out!

Such a neat museum that so many people don't even know about! My kids loved it and loved hearing the dinosaur roar. They have some small live animals and a kids area that is interactive.

Mental health worker here... I take all kids of all ages here and this place always comes through! I've been here at least 10 times and I learn something new every time. The staff is great and always ready to answer questions. The guy who does the shark feeding is super cool. Thank you and see you soon!

I recently took my daughter here last weekend. Needless to say it's just how I remembered it as a 5 year old. Almost 30 years it's been since I first walked through the doors at this museum. It opened up in 1989 and still going strong. It brought back so much memories for me tears of joy came to my eyes when I returned with my 2 year old daughter this time. She fell in love with the entire site. From the lions and bears and bisons all the way to Africa. This museum is full with tons of history and just 10 years ago they became part of the Smithsonian museums. I'm sure I'm wording that wrong but you know what I mean. It's not the most up to date as far as interior decor is concerned. But that's not what you go for. It's has a really large catalog of creatures from present date to thousands of years ago. We saw giraffes , polars bears , 6/7 different types of rhinos. I didn't even know there were that many types. I learned a lot and saw a lot. The restrooms are clean. There are resting areas located throughout the museum. A play room is located in the back near the dinosaur exhibit. Downstairs in Africa there is a tiny little souvenir shop nothing too crazy and the prices are pretty fair. I had a blast I think more than my daughter. She asked to back again so I will be returning soon.

Still not worth it for $15 a ticket. Seemed like nothing had been updated since the 90s. Very run down, old, dirty and smelly. Not a pleasant visit.

Contrary to some reviews, the museum was decently sized and had enough exhibits to entertain a family for two hours or more if they took time to read descriptions and listen to the audio logs. Price of admission is reasonable, $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/military/students, and $6 for children. Infants are free. Tickets can be purchased online for a specific time slot although the timing is more of a suggestion. =EXHIBITS= *International Wildlife Gallery: first gallery showcased, included a multitude of taxidermies. Very simple and focused on the differences between mammals from around the world. *Marine Life Gallery: notably included a small shark pool. Had other aquatic creatures in fish tanks but this section primarily highlighted sharks and whales. *Treasures of Egypt: unique exhibit that replicated the tomb of Tutankhamun. Immersive walk through the Egyptian lifestyle and history behind certain burial processes. *Prehistoric Life Gallery: although a small section, the dinosaurs were bigger than life. Enjoyed how various prehistoric creatures came to life, roaring and moving, when pressed. *Prehistoric Mammals Gallery: a bit underwhelming and one of the least interactive sections of the museum. Had few ice age beasts presented. *Geology Gallery: smaller than average but I liked the practical application of minerals in Las Vegas and how they were present in most households. Plus rocks under different lighting revealed how cool natural resources change with the right conditions. *Wild Nevada Gallery & African Savanna Gallery: both followed the same interactive format which I loved. Alongside written descriptions, pressing buttons of particular plant life or animals would illuminate them. Some had audio cues and certain plants could be sniffed. Although there were two levels to the museum, the lower section was small as well as the gift shop. There were primarily plastic toys and souvenirs targeted towards children. Museum was clean and hand sanitizer dispensers were placed in each exhibit. Overall, this wasn't a life changing museum but for the price, this was more than worth it. Great option for families or those who want a break from the bustle of the Las Vegas strip.

This is a nice family-friendly attraction. (It's affordable- less than $30 for a family of three, that is, two adults, and one child, but you can find some discounts.) We spent about three or so hours here. There happened to be a couple of classes, but we were only affected (it was super loud) twice during our visit. This was last year for our son's seventh birthday. I am not sure how new rules have been implemented during the Covid-19 era. If it is like most businesses allowing to conduct business, and adhering to state-mandated rules (mask wearing), most businesses are enacting strict cleaning and sanitizing measures. Make sure you visit every exhibit and check out every floor for the maximum benefit. There is the aquatic exhibit and the savanah exhibit in the lobby. Be sure to check out the dinosaurs. Nearby are reptiles and bugs. Also, is a hands-on interactive children exhibit (again, not sure, how this would be affected during Covid-19). And all of the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. I posted lots of pics. Everything was fascinating- I am an eternal student, I love to learn something new, I like expanding my realm. If all of these subjects are interesting to you and your children, you will enjoy this place. There is a break room, bathrooms, and a small gift shop (this is located at the front of the lobby). I am sure that my son would like to go another time. I am hoping that he will get the chance to visit with his grandparents, one set anyway.

It's a great entertaining for both kids and adults my husband enjoyed the science area . You can bring in water but other than that they don't allow anything else . They have plenty of rooms and information we were there for about 2 hours didn't even make it to the book reading included with our pass at 12 pm . We had a great time through Egypt and Dinosaur land . So many activities. However if you are planning a party here be aware that it's not for those of the weak stomach you will be dining in a room full of lizards and Guinea pigs eeek ! . The lower level has a small gift shop some apes and not much else . The place could use an update as another teller commented . We will come again however stay away from heritage park .

We had a great field trip with my sons first grade class. We had Donna as our tour guide and she was great with the kids. We stopped at five different rooms: nevada desert, ancient Egypt, dinosaur, waterlife and then ice age/rocks. They have a park beside the building where we had a picnic. Overall spent about 1.5 hours of fun.

I came here after the neon museum because they said they were offering a bogo with purchase proof. I walked in and the lady said she had no idea about that offer. Luckily I took a picture of the sign and showed it to her. She was hesitant but eventually allowed it. This place is like most natural history museums, old and a little tacky with lots of stuffed animals in desperate need of dusting. That didn't stop us from going to every single room and having a good time. They offer a "shark feeding" lol it's literally a kiddy pond with small leopard sharks in it so don't get too excited about that. The most fun I had in there was actually the kid science area in the back part. They had all sorts of fun things there and cute little animals in the back part. They had rats and guinea pigs and reptiles. That was probably the highlight of that museum. They definitely were trying here but overall don't expect much it's more of what you make of it. It took a good hour to get through the whole thing.

Since my husband and I both love museums (OMG I want to go back to DC so badly!) and were in the area to see other attractions, we decided to check out the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a reasonable $12 and not $20+ as most museums and attractions seem to be these days. And good thing it was only $12, because it wasn't worth a heftier price tag. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is a small museum, and the exhibits were just so-so. Not great, but not terrible. The temporary exhibit on display, which runs from June 1 to September 15, was "Dinosaurs Take Flight", an exhibit about the link between dinosaurs and birds. Sounds cool, but it really wasn't that exciting, and it felt like there was a lot of filler. The permanent exhibits were "Treasures of Egypt"; a small aquarium; a few snakes; a prehistoric exhibit, complete with cheesy model dinosaurs, some of which roared when you pressed a button; a geology exhibit with various rocks and minerals; and several galleries with stuffed/model animals belonging to different habitats, such as the African Savanna, African Rainforest, and the Mojave Desert, to name a few. The exhibits weren't terrible (except for the Rainforest exhibit which was a sad excuse for an exhibit -- it was a darkened exhibit, and when you pressed a button, part of the exhibit lit up and an audio recording would play. But if you wanted to listen to the next recording or turn it off, you couldn't -- you had to listen to the whole thing, and it wasn't very interesting in the first place!), and the Egyptian exhibit was pretty neat, and I even learned a few things. But overall, it was a disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend this museum unless you have young kids. (It's a great place for kids.) Another thing to note: while they did have water fountains, a necessity while in Vegas in the summer, they were out of order due to a burst pipe. Truly a hidden gem!! It felt like the entire place was ours. It was big, spacious, and my kids loved it! I've been to the museum in LA and this one is wayyy better. My kids had fun with the projector in the ocean sand, as well as digging fossils in the Dino room. I was freaked out by the insect party room, but my girls loved it. The best thing about this place was that everything was working!!! Nothing broken haha! I'd definitely come back again, I feel like I can learn a lot each time I visit. Parking was easy too! Nothing else to do outside of that area, but definitely beautiful museum.

We went to Dino-ween at the Natural History Museum and absolutely loved it! It was really well put together! We loved all of the sections in the museum and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!

Can't believe I went so long not knowing about this place. It is so incredibly clean, the workers are so sweet, and the variety of everything was amazing. It was very toddler and kid friendly and had a lot of interactive things that my 3 year old enjoyed. Will definitely be coming back.

Took my son here for a classmates birthday party. Really awesome place. Lots of little exhibits and things to touch and play with for the little ones. Really cool for adults too. We had no idea this place even existed. There is a very informative helper who will give you endless details about dinosaurs, unfortunately i didn't catch his name. Highly recommend!

Great place to spend a few hours. Great educational opportunities for kids. We will be back.

My 3 year old son is obsessed with the Dinosaur exhibit and ask's to go almost daily. Needless to say we got the annual pass. There's not a whole lot to see or so honestly. He loves it and it makes him happy so we'll keep going

We came here for a Halloween event since it popped up along my facebook timeline and they were offering free entry with costume so that made this cheaper to check out. Honestly I am mad that it took me so long to discover this museum. Possibly I drove by it so many times and it looked tiny I never bothered to look into it but this is really in-depth for a museum option here in town. I loved the area with all the stuff on Mummies they had a special area open about nocturnal creatures at least for this event not sure how long that will be there but either way this museum is a fun little adventure. They had really good social distancing options and hand sanitizer in place plus spaced out entry times. Mind you it's a history museum sooo I don't know how toddler friendly it is when these sort of events aren't going on but today they had different tables set up with activities or story time ( that may regularly occur I have not investigated) However for the cost it's a worth while place to bring my children who are 14 and almost 11.. While visiting is it worth checking out? meh maybe not but if you're local especially if you homeschool like I do, I feel it's worth visiting and plan to bring my family back once corona calms down.

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum was a welcomed side trip from the hustle and bustle of the Strip and Freemont St. It took us about an hour and a half to wander through the exhibits and there is much to see. It feels and looks a little dated, but that is part of its charm. Check for Groupon specials on discounted admission prices, but the prices are already low to begin with - $12 for an adult and they have special pricing for military and LV locals. We paid $40 for a family of 4 - worth the price for sure! There is a parking lot with free parking which is always a plus. It is located a block or so away from the Neon museum so you could hit both on a single trip. Beyond that, there is nothing much else in this part of town. The taxidermy room is large and showcases a wide range of animals. It was fun to learn about the ones I had never heard of. The Egyptian room kept my 11 year old very interested and engaged, as did the dinosaur exhibit. The staff is very kind and full of knowledge and you can tell they are enthusiastic about this place. We went at the holiday time so there was a really nice display and history of world celebrations, traditions and Christmas trees. Nicely done!

Located north of the strip this interesting little museum with a variety of exhibits. There is covered parking which helps when it is 115 degrees outside and a cool little park next door as well. There are also geocaches nearby. Admission is $12 for adults, but there are AAA, Military and Senior discounts which will save you a few $. There are exhibits with local animals, rocks and minerals, etc. Some neat rocks and artifacts. There is an Egyptian section donated by Luxor I believe. It is ok and you can walk thru in a few minutes. There is a dinosaur section and pre-dinosaur section, with plenty of different species. There is a kids section with science exhibits. There is an ocean exhibit with sharks, fish, etc. There is a South African section as well. It is 2 stories, and there are stairs and an elevator. You can cruise thru really fast in an hour, or you can slow down and spend more time.

Post covid-19 review: Since my child is under 2, he got in free. However there is limited things for a kid that age to enjoy here, which is probably why they are free. Many of the exhibits that interested him were too tall to interact with and no steps, or not enough steps, and I don't want to carry him for who knows how long in an awkwardly low back injurying height. However as far as covid concerns, the museum is pretty quiet, and there is staff constantly cleaning touch points. The exhibits are all still open and you can still touch everything. There are a few halls about animals that live in the dark, an underwater hall, an Egyptian/King Tut hall, and the dinosaur hall. The dinos scared the kid, and the only elevator to go downstairs was thru the dino hall. Unfortunately we are still in stroller territory. Downstairs is the Africa and rainforest exhibits. So we missed those. The gift shop remains closed. Admission for adults is $12, $10 for students/seniors/military. And memberships start at $70 for a family. Even if my child wasn't scared of all the halls, I don't think the cost of membership is worth it, since it's such a small museum. You would get bored after two visits. Now I understand why their parking lot is so small. There's a small park attached to their overflow parking, but it was very crowded. It may be the only park in the vicinity which may explain why it was so packed. It was nothing special. One small playground set, a few benches, and a bathroom.
