My wife and I with our daughter were out on an early Sunday afternoon looking for a restaurant in the area on the casual side, but one that had something different to offer. Not an upscale dining experience and not a cafe type establishment.
My daughter who lives north on Biscayne from La Social remembered she had ordered from here to take home.
The neighborhood is off the beaten path, but when we walked in and saw the cheery, homey decor with a beautiful home made pastry case and the small kitchen behind, I had no idea what possibly was on their menu that this kitchen could handle.
We sat at a comfy corner table on a soft cushion couch.
When we opened up the on line menu, it was overwhelming how beautiful, diverse and completely different all these fresh, homemade dishes were.
We were greeted by the most friendly, pleasant server, Shereece who really made us feel at home and told us some of her favorite dishes and, yes, all home made.
There were so many options that we all wanted to try. We were told how great their homemade Carrot Ginger Soup was. We all ordered that to start and they came in pretty little colerful bowls shaped like pumpkins with tops to keep the soup warm. Very cute presentation. So delicious and the ginger made this soup something completely special. There were almond pieces throughout as well. Nothing like I ever had.
We split their large watermelon salad. Huge portion, perfect for the three of us. Freshest collaboration of fruit, arugula, tomato's and feta cheese. Such beautiful colors and a great combination of flavors.
I ordered one of the two Toast dishes: Large pile of Smoked Salmon beside nicely slices Avocado, watermelon and orange slices on the side. They topped it off with a creamy cheese that made this better than any Avocado or Salmon toast I ever had anywhere. And a HUGE portion for one person on two delicious pieces of crusty toast. Just picked it up and bit into it like a sandwich. All that melted in my mouth.
My daughter had the Tuna Melt. Large scooped of tuna wrapped in pita bread with Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato. The hit was the Pinapple Habanero sauce served on the side to dip it in. She loved it so much, she took home an 8 ounce bottle of this homemade sauce.
My wife ordered a delicious breakfast wrap made with egg whites, bacon and spinich. Loved it and big enough to take some home.
One of the first dishes we noticed on the menu was their Greek Yogurt Blueberry Pancakes. Wow. So, ok we decided that this was a must, also recommended by Shereece, we decided to spit this incredible dish for desert. Amazing and can't leave here without it.
The menu has several Omelet selections also different than anywhere I've been. Pancakes, waffles and breakfast sandwich dishes, and salads just to name a small portion of what they offer.
Everything is completely homemade and with a special touch. The freshness was unmatched by any place I've eaten for breakfast, lunch or brunch.
There is outside seating and their own parking on the side.
Special thanks to Shereece for being so sweet and helpful.
No more looking for us when we want to do brunch or breakfast in the area. Heading straight back here to experience some of their other dishes.
