Laspada's Original Hoagies

My wife & sister in law raved about this place as they frequent this area during their college days in the early 2000s. Unfortunately the quality service and food went down. Turkey sub had little flavor. My wife complained about her sandwich having too much bread. Publix's deli sandwiches reigns supreme.

I had the small Italian. It was delicious. The portions are big with fast service and they're reasonably price.

Everything tasted fresh. I haven't been here in a while. I remember the sandwiches having more meat, especially for that price. Overall, I'll stop in when in the area....

All was great. Only peeve I had was the bread fell apart with my small monster. Staff was very helpful and very nice. Sandwiches are hand down the best made and the most meat you will get on a sub in town. Go try them in Davie Florida.

The staff was extremely friendly, bread was soft, sandwiches were good but nothing to write home to mom about. Meat was freshly cut, huge bonus!

The service was fast, the sub was good, and it was fresh. I just found it to be a regular tasting sub. I thought it would be better given all the hype.

My first time here was in 2023 and since then is a mandatory stop whenever i am near. I can say that is among the best sandwich shops in the world! They balance very well the amount of always-fresh bread and generous amount of meats/ingredients. Very fresh products and high quality that can be felt from the first bite. This is one of these places that would get 6 stars if it was possible, no wonder how they've been around for 50+ years. Thank you for always making me happy with your hoagies!!

This place has great food and Chenin made my sandwich with a smile. When I got to the register I was greeted by Hermie and she checked me out! You must come here and see what I mean by the great food! Also a shout out to Sara the manager who did ask if everything was good with my visit!

Can't go wrong with Laspada's. I happen to be a pescatarian so I will usually get tuna but lately I've been all about their veggie hoagie. Honestly, it only has onion, lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, hot peppers, pickles, oil, vinegar, oregano, salt and pepper and cheese if you want it. Usually, veggie hoagies will have other things to give you more variety like cooked mushrooms, bell peppers, maybe so olives. But this hoagie somehow still manages to be delicious with the basics. I am obsessed with this version of a veggie hoagie. It's filled to capacity with veggies. It's juicy, it's crunchy, it's fresh, it's loaded with flavor! It's a veggie party in my mouth! Even my daughter (who eats some meats) loves this sandwich and will order it as well. I think it's the sweet pepper that take it over the top. Not many places that offer hoagies, have these peppers. These are a MUST!!!! Their tuna hoagie is also amazing! This location is like all the others I've visited. Super nice staff...Like VERY NICE!!! I have never experienced bad customer service at any location EVER! I love Laspada's!!!

Laspada's is great ingredients assembled with professional, enthusiastic flair. When you go in person, you might get to experience the sensation of watching your meat get tossed through the air in an impressive display of aerial teamwork. You can also order online. Their website is well organized and detailed with every meat, topping, sauce and spices you can imagine. You can even choose to have your sandwich cut in 1/2, 1/3 or even 1/4. With several locations in South Florida, you can find a Laspada's close enough to be worth the drive.

Cool sandwich place. Freshly cut on the spot deli meat for the sandwich. The portion size is a good amount. The staff is quick and they pass the meat by tossing along the line and it seems like a very friendly fun. The ingredients are fresh too. Definitely clean and bright location and the lines moves quick. Love how friendly the staff are :)

This is by far the best hoagies in south Florida! I have never been t laspadas and not been satisfied. The service is always quick the staff are friendly and my order is always ready when I order pickup. It's clean and the food is delicious. This is the only sandwich shop that load up their sandwiches with so much deli meat. The offer to scoop the bread and thr meat to bread ratio is huge. Even their salads are loaded with protein, which is a great way to fill up on good nutrients as opposed to just bread and cheese. I look forward to eating here every time!!!

So I will start by saying the only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because the hoagies are that good! I am not a fan of roast beef or other meats miss together l, but decided to give it a try and I was impressed. It tastes very fresh with the other deli meat in the hoagie. The hoagie was fresh and everything is prepared in front of you. We got the small hoagie and we were able to share, but I wish we would have gotten the bigger size because it was really good. However, I was not a fan of the sodas they have. The flavors were not tasty for me. I also didn't like they charge $4 for one cookie alone. The cookie is good though, so if you're willing to overlook the produce you will enjoy it. The staff was not the friendliest as they looked annoyed when we asked to put some of the condiments on the side and while we were debating what cookie to get. The lady seemed annoyed we were taking long. The floor was not clean. There were piles of breadcrumbs and food in three separate places. Despite these issues, I will say this is probably one of best places to eat in Davie.

The roast beef sandwich I order was very good. When I ordered my roast beef I had everything on it lettuce, tomato, pickles jalapenos, banana peppers, mayo, oil and vinegar, along with American cheese. Service was relatively fast since you stand in line and they make it in front of you. The ambiance of the place is a typical sub shop.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was petty empty so I didn't have to wait long at all. I decided on half of the monster hoagie which is ham, turkey and roast beef. You can get your choice of bread and I chose the white bread. You can get it with American, Swiss or Provolone cheese and toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onions, sweet peppers, hot peppers, pickles, mayo, mustard and oil and vinegar. My sandwich was made quickly and I was on my way. The staff was nice but the reason I only gave it 4 stars was that even though they made a point to clean off the tables in the small dining area, the sandwich prep area was pretty messy. It only takes 5 seconds to wipe down the area not sure why it should be messy when there were so few people in there ordering food so it's not like any of the employees didn't have time to simply wipe it down. Anyway, the sandwich was great and a half was more than enough for my husband and I to eat and it was really, really good!

The subs are still great. The bread is still super fresh and soft. The meat and veggies were still very fresh. I would still give them my stamp of approval. PS: This time, I dropped my wallet in the parking lot outside of LaSpadas, called them when I realized I lost it, and they had it there! (Someone found it in the parking lot and gave it to them for me). I am very thankful for them finding and holding it for when I got back.

This is one of my favorite hoagie restaurants. The bread is always fresh and awesome customer service. My only complaint is keeping the restroom and outdoor tables clean throughout the day. I have noticed this on most of my visits. This post is my experience and feedback.

While the customer service was kind and polite during my visit on Weds 1/29/25 my sandwich was a bit unimpressive. The lettuce was wilted and not very fresh, the tomatoes were also a bit mushy, which made the bread slightly soggy despite it being fresh. Lastly. not enough deli meat was added to my sandwich. Overall, an underwhelming experience.

A now South Florida institution for Foodies and General subs fanatics. Not too many locations, but worth the drive. Good size, Great quality, and you pay for it in cost. The best isn't cheap, but indulge yourself at least once. Service is fast and flying entertainment. Ambiance is usually busy and anticipation of your turn.

The best subs on the planet!!! They slice the meat when you place the order. The bread is fresh. The produce is perfect every time and the meat topper is like icing in the cake. The subs are huge, fresh and delicious.

Laspadas is your basic sandwich spot. The bread is great. And if meat is your thing, they slice it fresh. But I'm happy to just have the veggie sandwich with a little cheese and all the veggies. It's always a treat.

I frequent this strip mall for Playa Bowls, but was looking for attire for the upcoming Miami Dolphins game and went into Canes-wear. After a quick glance of my surroundings, I saw this place. Now, I am not a fan of sandwiches whatsoever, but these aren't your typical sandwiches. Upon entry walk straight ahead to the opposite side of the register to place your order. I was offered assistance immediately. I decided on the roast beef, turkey small. I was cautioned that the roast beef is rare and went for it! After, I walked near the register where your sandwich is made. It was super cool to witness the signature meat toss and catch on the bread, lol. Toppings are displayed on the glass in between you and counter and checkout is quick and easy. The sub itself was amazing. The bread was fresh, the toppings were fresh, and the sandwich is filling and shareable!

I had been going to this place regularly for years. But had not been in quite awhile. We recently needed a quick, hearty dinner and ordered a chicken salad and a roast beef sub online. Our orders were filled correctly and waiting when we we got there to pick them up. Both subs were chock full and enough to feed four (or two very hungry people). The roast beef was fresh and tender. The chicken salad had chopped celery (and thank goodness no raw onions to trigger my allergy). The subs are not cheap; the bill was about $30. But they made a complete meal with all the fillings and are well worth the money. We ate so fast I forgot to take photos.

Absolute best hoagies/subs outside of Philadelphia !!! I order the Italian,all sweet, no spicy every single time. This was my great grandmother's order back when I was a kid and I visited her in Philadelphia. Laspadas hoagies taste just like a proper hoagie in Philadelphia which makes me SO happy!! The service is fast, friendly and tell jokes with you. I enjoy going there. The ambiance is j like a sub shop up north Took my mom here while in town visiting me and she was shocked the Italian hoagie was just like Philly -- loved it!

Laspada's is a no frill, to the point, sandwich shop. When you get to order, everyone moves super quick and in all my experiences are really nice and make sure you get exactly what you want. They don't skimp on the meat or toppings so you get exactly what you pay for. It's one of my go-to places when I'm feeling like eating out and I never regret it. You could easily extend one full sandwich into multiple meals.

Best subs in town. By far. No other like it. BUT-The online ordering system is whack. You place an order but it gives you no choice but a long window before it's ready. Mind you, this was 11ish am. We placed an order when we were 20 minutes away. We arrived and the food was not made and the line was busy but not super long either. I asked if my order was ready and the woman replied with my designated pickup time the system gave to me with no other option. I decided to jump into the line and then I gave my name to put pressure on them to make my order. That worked because it doesn't make any sense for it not to work...it's better to just go stand in line.

This sandwich shop has been around forever. The italian sub is my go to. I suggest you get there by 1130a for lunch since the place gets packed. There are several other businesses in the same plaza so parking is tight. Years ago the place was small inside now they doubled the size with a sit down eating area. You order the sub on the left side of the line then watch the meat slicer goto work. The next worker opens the bread and the meat slicer throws the meat in the air to the bread person, my favorite part. The subs are massive in size and tasty with super soft bread. Cost is about $15.00 for large sub with soft drink. They also use Uber Eats. Love it here.

I finally had the chance to stop by and see what everyone was talking about. It was a weekday, and there was a line, but it moved quickly and that is always good. The prices are good with all that you can pack on your sandwiches/hoagies. I ordered the small Italian Special $8.90 (Ham, Salami & Cappicola) with just lettuce, tomatoes, oil and vinegar and no cheese. However, they offer free (on all cold hoagies) Tomatoes, Lettuce, Onions, Pickles, Sweet Peppers, Hot Peppers, Oil, Vinegar, Oregano, Salt, and Pepper. That's awesome! The meats were sliced in front of me and I watched it being made. There was no place to sit down, so I took mine to go, and ate it in the car. I have to say that while it was good, I didn't love the bread. It was too soft and was a bit mushy from the oil and vinegar. I have to agree with some other reviewers that I prefer the bread at Publix. The meats are the same, but the crisp bread of Publix makes it a better sandwich for my tastebuds. But I'm glad I was able to try it and make my own decision.

Laspada's Original Hoagies is a great place to grab a meal and have several locations throughout this area. They are a sub (or hoagie) shop and their origins can be traced to just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Which is why they call it a hoagie instead of a sub. Laspada's Original Hoagies makes an impressive sandwich (call it whichever you prefer, a sub or a hoagie). They are full of meat, cheese and the usual sub vegetable toppings. My go-to at this and most shops is their Italian sub and this sub would be a great option to go with. All in all, Laspada's Original Hoagies is a great sub (or hoagie) shop and if you are in the area, I would recommend that you check Laspada's Original Hoagies out. I do not think that you will be disappointed Overall, I will give Laspada's Original Hoagies a five-star rating for offering a great sub.

Huge subs and amazing sweets to go! Stopped in just to check it out. Got my Sammy with no bread and it was just as good.

Probably the top sub shop in Broward county. Simple ingredients but it all works. Tons of meat packed in soft bread. They throw the meat across the counter and it's always enough for a few meals.

They are good subs (for Florida). I know that sounds rude, but hear me out.. as a New Yorker, I prefer a crusty style bread. The sub rolls in Florida are soft, so once they dress them, you need to eat them right away or you have a soggy mess. We were staying less than a mile away, and by the time we got back to the pool to eat, my sub was falling apart..I have a thing with really messy food I get grossed out and would rather not eat lol.. that's a me thing.. everyone else in my family loves them and the cold cuts were good so def fine then a try.

When its lunch time and I get hungry while out and about I always check and see if I am near a LaSpada, one of the best sub shops in south Florida. The first LaSpada's Hoagies opened in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in 1973. The sub shop was opened by John LaSpada Jr. whose family was in the sandwich business. His grandfather was famous for having opened his first hoagie shop in Atlantic City in the 1930's. In 1978, LaSpada sold the business to Harry and Gale Kappes, who along with their son Phil, now operate 5 locations in Broward including this one in Davie in the Shoppes of Arrowhead along with one in Boca. All pf LaSpadas subs undergo a four step process, fresh bread, followed by meat sliced to order, add fresh toppings, and top it again with more meat! I have so many fond memories of eating at LaSpadas through the years. They are the freshest subs around and they will customize it perfectly to your taste. LaSapada's is unique in that they throw the meat down the line, partly for theatrics and partly to move it faster. It was a practice started in the 1970's by a frustrated sandwich maker attempting to move the meat faster down the line. I never get tired of seeing the meat fly through the air and landing squarely on the bread. Another thing that makes LaSpadas special is the meat blanket, a second layer of meat that covers all of the toppings. I usually order the Italian sub but you can never go wrong with a Monster, a ham, turkey, roast beef combo. If you are trying to cut the carbs they also offer salad platters. My lunch was perfect, especially when I added on a Dr. Brown cream soda. Stop in and you will see why LaSpadas is a south Florida institution.

My boyfriend introduced me to this hoagies gem and I'm so thankful he did! My first time trying was in his neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, but luckily we have one close to home. Their hoagies are hug, with delicious deli meats and toppings. We always chose them for our catering needs when we have friends over or a party, and they never fail to impress. They tend to get packed on the weekends but the wait is worth it. I highly recommend for all to go there and try, you won't regret it. If anything you may get addicted.

Great sub! Unfortunately, on one too many occasions, I've experienced bad service. Management should make all workers aware that it is ok to answer questions with a complete answer, especially when there isn't a line. The Davie, FL location benefits from being close to a college and high traffic, so I guess customer service is not high on their priority.

Delish!!! Everything was fresh and meat is not processed... cut when you order!! No frills great sub spot!!! Only thing missing is having a horseradish sauce as a condiment for subs!!

I was apprehensive trying this spot because I had yet to have a good sub in SoFlo, HOWEVER, this place was delicious! A lot more meat than I expected but it was delicious no doubt. Pickle was also perfect. Nice touch with the the throwing of meat. Very unique.

Two of my favorite foodie friends recommended this place. It's good for what they offer. Better quality Subway Sandwiches. It's no Milano market on the upper east side in nyc which make the best Italian combo hero ever. This place is clean. Service w/o a smile. Quick. Again. A better Subway.

The best subs anywhere. My favorite is the monster. Use to be able to eat a whole one. Those days are gone. Ham, turkey and roast beef layer on the bottom of a really soft bread veggies all that you can think of on the meat the another layer of meat on the top. Chips, drinks. Etc. 6 people work the line, so even if it's out the door it moves. Try it but give yourself a little time. Tables inside and out.

Laspada's is a South Florida staple for some amazing sandwiches. They have an interesting concept - they like to wrap the veggies in a meat blanket. Meat on the top and the bottom of the toppings - a superb concept. Service is extremely fast here and they fling meat across the service counter, which is pretty cool to watch. Recommended!

Down here on vacation my friend picked me up from airport and I was hungry. I remember this place because they throw the meats to each other. Fresh cut fresh bread fresh everything Great spot friendly staff

Subs were fresh and long line moves fast. Downside is there are too many flies in the restaurant and the tomatoes tasted like they had been frozen.

The last affordable sandwich in Broward county!!! This place is simple and excellent hoagies. The good: the food & the price. If you are hungry for a sandwich and you have the means to get to Laspadas going anywhere else is foolish. They absolutely load their Sandwiches with fresh cut deli meat and toppings then sell them at irresponsibly low prices. The fact that a Panera bread dares to have a location in the same plaza is ridiculous. The bad: this place ain't for everyone. If you want a hip Siracha glazed kimchi impossible beef and kale sandwich on a pretzel bun with free range gluten free mayonaise then maybe there is a pop-up retro themed food truck in south beach. But if you want a real sandwich made the way our forefathers intended then get yourself to Laspadas.

Great subs and excellent service. The sandwich makers are fun to watch. The variety of subs they make should please an everyone.

We've been ordering from this place for years. They're really good at what they do completely organized and super super fast and they do not skimp on the amount of meat that they put in the sandwiches definitely a must try.

Had a hoagie craving and decided to go to the best place for one!!! Walked in and it smelled AMAZING! Had a line but it moves by so fast. Everything is cut fresh , and for it being so fresh they move so FAST!! Got a tuna and it was everything I wanted

After a long day at work, I was looking for a hearty late lunch. Laspada's has been on my list for some time and I finally decided today was the day! I went mid-Covid, so they are only open for take out only and you MUST ORDER ONLINE. No one is permitted in the store. You best option is to order and pay online although you can call in an order as well. The reviews are off the charts to I figured it would be good. I wasn't wrong. I opted for a roast beef hoagie. You have the option to add on your own toppings. The roast beef was super fresh and had a good balance of meat and toppings throughout. Nothing worse than biting into a sandwich that is not evenly distributed. Poor sandwich making. But not here!! Rest assured your sandwich will be made by some pros. I will say my one down fall with this is the price and the reason for 4 stars, instead of 5. I feel like the price point is a bit high for a sandwich at the end of the day. A small 8 inch sandwich ran me over $11 with tax and that is just for the sandwich, no drink or chips or anything! For that reason alone I don't think this will become my go to sandwich place.

5-16-22 Lunchtime So happy to be in the area as I had seen they were on University Drive and love their subs. Do not have one where I live but the closest is in Ft. Lauderdale of of 17th street. Came here at noon line was decent but manageable. They were working on lots of pickup orders. I got a half Italian special with oil vinegar sweet peppers and everything else but pickles. So a guy ahead of me getting tons of pickles on a salad. I guess they got something for everyone! For me it's the sweet peppers they are delicious I should truly just got a sandwich of them alone. Also got a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda it compliments the sandwich perfectly. Note they will cut your sandwich up to make it easier to pick up. Yes I ate the whole thing. Yikes hope I am able to eat again today lol! Definitely will be back again soon!

These sandwiches are super good so are their salads we always order to go or delivery for our work events and they never disappoint always. On point.

Always has fast service even on a busy football Sunday. I got the tuna platter and the portions are large. I ate this in 4 sittings. The shop gives family owned vibes and I will definitely be coming back.

The bread!! They changed the bread and screwed the sandwich! I've been going to La Spada for over 30 years and loved it but unfortunately this south Florida treasure has jumped the shark!! Rest in peace my friend! Heaven has gained a sandwich! You will be missed!
