Love the chill vibe, great drinks, and opportunity to play dominoes!!! Where else?! Sunday and Monday nights’ chill crowd, able to chat - great place for a “as meet for a drink” then end up staying all night.

Came for “just one drink” and somehow left at closing with zero regrets. Strong pours, great vibes, and the kind of music that makes you say, “Okay fine… one more.” 10/10 would absolutely lose track of time here again. 🍸🔥

It's one of the local legend bars in Castro with great classic and make to order cocktails. No food. It's a very slim small bar with no tables or seating. Loud and vibrant. Service was quick and responsive. Great place for a quick meet or a drink before dinner!

Staff completely ignored me for a full 15 minutes when the bar was slow waiting for a drink, much less an acknowledgement of my existence at the mat. They then skipped over and served people who were waiting after me. I wish I could’ve even gotten a drink to review, but alas I guess I’m just invisible. I’ll give them another try some other time, but that was a sour taste to start with. Atmosphere is lovely though with a cozy touch, regardless of the faut pas.

honestly best bartender in sf. the drinks are absolutely fire! pictured is the the mezcal paloma. when the bartender karen greeted me, she greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine conversation. it might seem small, but that little gesture made all the difference. they were friendly, striking just the right balance to make me feel comfortable. as the night went on, i started to relax. the vibe of the bar was welcoming, not too loud, with a good mix of people. the bartender checked in from time to time, and even introduced me to a couple of regulars at the bar. by the end of the night, i felt like i belonged. if you're like me and a little hesitant about going out solo, and shy lol this place is a great spot to start. friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and a sense of community that’s hard to find. also the jukebox added a great touch!!

I asked for a Penicillin and what I got was Sunday night therapy in a glass. Smoky blended scotch layered gently over lemon, honey, and ginger so smooth, it practically whispered, “You’re going to be fine. Just don’t open Slack tomorrow before 10.” It’s medicinal in the best way, like if your grandmother were a speakeasy witch doctor from a Queen in Glasgow. Every sip feels like it’s curing whatever twink nonsense the week tried to do to you. Your boss? Irrelevant. Your ex? Foggy. That existential dread creeping in? Drowned in peat and citrus. This isn’t a cocktail. It’s a reset button with ice. Pro tip: get it before the lights come up and the jukebox cuts off. It’s called Last Call for a reason, and this Penicillin is the prescription you didn’t know you needed.

Do not pass this bar by. The drinks are made so well. The bartender has been great each time I go. People are friendly and it is so nice inside!

The blond bartender was so drunk that she over charged me and my friend. She was so rude. It was weird to be in a situation where she told me iunder tipped I will never recommend anyone to go here if this blonde bartender is working. Such a bad sf experience.

Is this place even serious?! RACHEL OMG. Best old fashioned I've ever had, BEST Manhattan I've ever had. This place is an absolute gem. Rachel is the freaking GEM OF THIS CITY. Absolute bliss. Thank you Rachel you literally are the best bartender I've ever met in my life and this is coming from a bourbon loveerrrrrrrrrrrr! Just fantastic. Sweet and took time to craft a damn perfect cocktail (four of them)!

Overall - One of the best bars in the city, and probably the best in the Castro. Inviting team and stellar cocktails make this spot on our regular rotation. Rating: 5 of 5 Ambiance - divey but charming. Since I first started coming here, they've slowly been adding small touches to make the space more inviting and it shows. Not a huge complaint, not worth dinging, but it does get very busy in here sometimes and it's not the most suited place for that. Could really use a second bartender for the busiest times. All the bartenders are unique experiences and any single one of them would make this bar worth coming to. I guess it would be more appropriate for me to call this spot the First Last Call Bar since believe it or not, I had never been here before a recent atmospheric river forced me physically to seek shelter. And I do mean 'physically' because I was like Winnie the Pooh on that blustery day looking for my honey pot. It was early on a weekday, like 3:30PM, when I entered the portal. There was just a couple of guys at the far end of the long bar and the friendly bartender keeping himself busy. The TV was playing one of the Star Wars movies from the pre-Luke, Natalie Portman trilogy. I never saw that trio so I couldn't tell you why Natalie was looking like a pissed-off prom queen. First time visiting and I had an amazing time. It's a small, quaint bar in the Castro with great drinks and great energy. GENE was the best bartender ever. Make sure you see him when you go.

Nice bar! Pretty small so might be hard to grab a seat if it's busy. There is seating at the bar and at the window near the entrance. Drinks were good. Loved the plant wall by the bar. Vibe was very chill and male dominant. Bartender was nice, last call was around 1:35AM. The little picture in the hole of the bathroom door scared the life out of me and then had me laughing

Take a step or two out of Castro to the bar where Kevin makes you relax and laugh. Yes, it is a gay, but you are going to want to stay, but you have to be a patient when it gets busy!!!

Love this bar! The staff members are super friendly, are super dog-friendly (YAY!), and the drinks are tasty. I also really like the patrons. People start up friendly convos easily here. I love that they also have a fireplace in the back which is (perf for foggy, cold days) and they offer bar snacks to munch on. It feels cozy and comfortable to catch up with friends or make it a party. Def a place to stop in for a friendly neighborhood drink- or three.

Fun, cute bar! We stopped by for a cocktail on a Friday afternoon in April with a group of about 10. Great service! Jukebox for music selection :) Jonathan was a great bartender and we loved his fu babies he bought with them to work. Highly recommend as a place to stop.

I love coming to the Last Call Bar. I always stop here if I'm ever near Castro or want to grab a drink after hanging out at Dolores Park. It's a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The staff here is the best! I've yet to find bartenders and staff who are this kind and attentive to their customers. The bar's dog, Chompsky, is such a cutie pie. I love how dog-friendly this place is! Finally, there's a jukebox that plays nothing but records from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I love this feature! It feels like old school is the best way possible. I highly recommend everyone to come here if you're in the area.

bartender with the fendi belt is mean. Tipped him well and he was very rude for no valid reason. look in the mirror and try to love yourself ok? don't take your moon cycles out on me freddie mercury. ugh . never forget.

This bar is the bomb! The jukebox is pure magic, the plant wall is lush, and the cocktails are downright delicious. Plus, everyone there is super friendly here. The only downside is that it's a bit snug - but hey, that just means you'll make some new friends!

Gay Dive Bar Done! Just playing,, I wish it was that simple. Let me elaborate a bit. What's the difference between a gay dive bar and a str8 dive bar. No one wears Real Tree apparel in there. It's that simple. This bar is super dope and super chill. Place for everyone to assemble or load up for the night so we can go hop to the next bar a little drunker than the last. Wow--what a nice surprise. Very nice vibe with good drinks. My usual KSA was on tap as was my partner's usual Guinness. Winner already! Looks like the same type of people were there for the same reason--to hang out, visit with friends, unwind and have a drama free evening. (Drama free evenings in SF are rare--usually you'll encounter someone with a problem....) I don't know why I ordered a Tequila Sunrise after finishing my KSA. That's certainly a throwback to another time but, jeez(!)--the bartender did a great job making this oldie. It's a small venue yet inviting and cozy at the same time. Love the arched ceilings. You'll pay with actual money to play the jukebox. The AMI app was unavailable. Five bucks for eighteen songs! Cool.

This place 5:30PM Happy Hour. The owners are sitting at the bar. One of them, the woman, can't help but shout when she speaks, and it's at a level which is actually startling when her patrons are trying to socialize. Add to this her foul language. Ugh. Then, at 6PM (6PM! Early!), they crank the juke box to the point you can't hear who you are speaking with. It's not even dark out yet and the ambiance is SO uninviting. I used to love this place, and I remember the new owner going there before they bought the place, and she was loud and obnoxious as a customer. Never going back.

I am tempted to give Last Call a 1-star review, just so you won't come. One of the great things about this bar is that you're not there...no offence though ;) Its just that the bar is soooo chill, and so friendly, and so relaxed. What a treat...a fireplace in the corner, no wait for drinks, space to move and kick up my feet. Add in some old classic movies (original Jurassic Park series last night) and a nice mix of chill background music and it's the perfect bar to relive days past with old friends. Oh, and a big plus that I failed to mention...two bathrooms for such a small bar is no small thing!! So drink away...with plenty of chill and a (small) group of friends, because rest assured, you'll be able to pee it out whenever you damn well please.

Chill bar in the mission district. Got here around 5 or so on a Friday and just a few others were knocking a few back. First thing you should know about this place.....it's cash only. Plenty of good options on tap and finally some cocktails that don't cost an arm and a leg. If you're looking to go hard, they have shot and beer deal that is pretty unbeatable. Spent a couple hours here before dinner and we were not disappointed. Had a great time. Would definitely come back when I'm in SF again.

Absolutely my favorite bar I've been to since moving to the Bay Area. Bartenders are great and their drinks are delicious. Ambiance is very cozy and the music never misses.

Uh, so I know that I don't really fit the usual demographics of this place, but even though I visited this bar nowhere near last call, Last Call fit the bill for what I wanted and was incredibly welcoming to boot. My friend and I were on the prowl for cheap drinks early one sunny afternoon, and while we weren't completely above the idea of buying canned wine from a supermarket and legally day drinking in a park (I love you, San Francisco), we had something a bit boozier in mind. Last Call, enter stage right. $3 well drinks during a seven-hour-long happy hour (from noon to 7 p.m.), enter stage left. Bear in mind that I visited this watering hole in the middle of the day, so I can't be certain if its cozy, intimate atmosphere changes after 5 p.m. when it's sure to get more crowded. I didn't find it incredibly divey (a dive bar would charge you for bar snacks and our small bowl of Chex mix was complimentary -- cheers, Last Call!) and thought it was a fantastic place to sit by the windows and have a slightly inebriated conversation with a friend on the cheap. I'd even go as far as to say that Last Call offers the best happy hour in the city! Remember, cash only!

First time yesterday at this bar, and for sure will become a must every time we visit SF. Cocktails were excellent and the ambience is perfect for a get together. Carlos, the barman is amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. It's pretty impressive that he's the one guy running the whole bar and he's smiling and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves.

I rarely go to the Castro anymore, but when I do Last Call Bar is my fave. Such a great, chill atmosphere to have drinks and catch up with friends. The new owners do a wonderful job of carrying on the bar's legacy and I always tell others it's worth a visit.

I walked in here after a huge trek round town. Just wanted a Guinness and a sit down. Came in when it wasn't too busy and Kevin was at the bar, made me laugh. Great service, put popcorn down. Star wars was playing, it was lovely, then the Giants game was on. Sure there's only a few seats and some room along the walls. It's a really comfy place, if you don't like small places, this isn't for you. I do have to say, very clean toilets, it's always nice going into a place and not stepping in piss. People were friendly. Had my drinks and my breather and scooted out to the rest of Castro.

Quiet little bar and by little I mean there is the bar some stools and very little else. Juke box for your hearing pleasure and thats it. The locals can smell the non and I heard one guy say "oh look the non gay are here" hahaha WTF? Anyways we had fun the time we were there and then moved to the next bar because this one was pretty dead for a Friday night. Did I mention this place was cash only??

Despite all the great reviews on Yelp, we sadly had a less than stellar experience here during Pride weekend. Part of the experience at any place is the crowd. While service here was decent even at a hectic time (which is why I'm adding a second star), we found some of the bar patrons less than welcoming. We were a mixed group (some gay, some not) of non-Caucasian women. In a city like San Francisco, in a district like the Castro, during a Pride festival with a theme of racial and economic equality, it was shocking to be the recipients of racist and sexualist comments just because we wanted to stand by the crowded bar to order drinks. I guess only gay white men are welcome here during busier times with certain crowds. But I did receive a nice note from the owner after he read this review, urging me to return at non-festival times and telling me that they don't tolerate any discrimination at Last Call. Because he sounded genuine and has a good record on Yelp, I'm happy to give his business another shot (no pun intended).

My friends and I were looking for a casual spot to post up after dinner a few weeks ago (and weren't feeling the super loud bar scene) and found a nice corner to make our own at Last Call Bar. The jukebox is filled with some GREAT choices, and the bartender made a super tasty Negroni. My kind of dive bar!

5 years ago I was on a miserable work trip to SF, where I only went back and forth from the hotel to the office and back. On my last day, I had had enough... I needed some fun. I left work early and hopped aboard a cable car to Castro. I found a marvelous dive gay bar -- Last Call -- on Yelp, and this place made me forget about my shitty workweek. The space was tiny, with only a smattering of barstools, and there was a jukebox to blast music until my pop-loving heart was content. I sat there for hours drinking fantastic cheap drinks and having even better conversation with the friendly bartender and the other patrons. I somehow stumbled out of the bar that night and hopped on a bus with my cable car ticket. A friendly bus driver let a very drunk Bryant on without a proper fare, and a lovely mystery passenger helped a blacked-out Bryant get off at the right stop for my hotel. This hot mess adventure is one of my favorite memories of SF. Fast forward to January 2017, and I was back! This time with my boo and a bestie in tow. I dragged them along for a day trip through the city, and we ended the day with -- you guessed it -- Last Call. 5 years later, and it was still just as awesome. Same tiny bar. Same jukebox. Same friendly service. Same cheap drinks. But this time I successfully got on the cable car heading home and didn't pass out.

Whether you are LGBTQ or not, this is a great place to pop in and spend a little time over a drink or two. It is cash only, but the staff is the friendliest you will find. They make some solid mixed drinks and are true bartenders even if their beer taps may not be the newest. I'd recommend bottled or canned beer if you chose that route, but a better choice may be a Hot Toddy, especially on a cool, foggy night (like every evening in SF).

This is a hidden little gem. It's more of a dive bar type feel and it's super hidden and down low. I was nervous walking into a bar alone because why would you be there alone LOL but I had a great time while I was there. The bartender was super friendly and gave me some strong drinks. The music is basically a juke box and you put in money to hear your song but I loved it. Wish I could have stayed longer but was only there for the weekend.

Another gorgeous day in SF! With the heat, we were looking for a cold one to cool down. Last Call - that's just a cool name for a bar. It's on the quiet stretch of 18th so it's a neighborhood bar. The bar is small, dark, clean and full of charm. In the center above the bar is a framed picture of Queen Victoria and behind the bar stools is a large CD jukebox. At the end corner is a stove fireplace right before the bathrooms - can imagine how cozy it is during those cold winter nights. Happy Hour daily from 12noon to 7pm - $2 for PBR beer, $3.75 ? for Sierra Nevada, $4 well cocktails? They have 6 drafts - Widmer Hef, Sierra Nevada, Big Daddy IPA, Stella, PBR and ? Hubby had the Widmer and I had the Stella - $4.50 each. It was perfect - the glass is pulled from the fridge and the beer is cold, it was so satisfying having the cold beer go down. Great music too.

Small, out of the way. You might say that this might have been my Last Call bar in SF when I went bar hopping but it was my Next to Last. It was the last bar I visited in the Castro before I moved on the my Last bar of the night. Since I only had one beer and pretty much soused by then, I can not comment very much for this neighborhood bar that was not very crowded but seemed friendly enough. Think of it this way, I wasn't assaulted, insulted or taken advantage of despite my inebriated state (not too bad). I will have to check it out again on my next visit to SF!

Off the beaten path in the Castro district. I was initially hesitant to walk in. But once you meld into the bar and watch Fried Green Tomato on the TV while taking a $3 sip on Coke (DD), you'll start to appreciate the character of this place. It's a pretty nice local chillax bar with a funny personality.

Basic little hole-in-the-wall neighborhood gay bar. It's small. It's classic. The bartenders are friendly and know how to pour a drink. No frills, no gimmicks, just the most simple definition of "bar" in action.

Nice lil bar with cheap drinks that are strong as F***! The bathrooms are tiny but I don't hold that against them since it's an old building anyway. I highly suggest the bar owners update their jukebox system to "Touch Tunes" for a bigger selection of music.
