Last chance pub and Cider mill has taken residency in the old tractor showroom. The owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the old industrial feeling of this building. Through expose ceilings, rich, red brick, a beautiful German style fireplace and of course the heart of the operation there Apple press. This location truly transports you back to a time period of when railway transportation was prominent.
Their menu offering features, many artisanal, flavors and ingredients that one would not typically expect to find in the middle of Montana. We ordered the bacon fried Brussels sprouts to start - they were sweet, even with being fried in the bacon fat, but the granny smith apples paired really well. We also ordered the Burmese pork wrap - wow! Packed with flavor, the carnitas were moist and full of flavor! I opted to upgrade to the sweet potatoe jojo and i highly suggested you do to! It's like an entire sweet potatoe on your plate! Great seasoning and the sweet lavender honey cardamom butter, dipping sauce was out of the world. We also ordered the french dip. We opted for the salt and vinegar chips which were thick and great flavor as well! The french dip was good, but we wish there would have been more meat on the sandwich.
We did a flight of ciders and enjoyed the local taste. The ciders are made from locally sourced Montana apples, as well as apples from Michigan and Oregon. Providing a nice tart experience. The one thing that I did enjoy was the fact that their ciders are all predominantly dry. Really enjoyed the cider that was aged in bourbon barrels - it had such a depth of flavor.
