The best restaurants near Death Valley National Park - Eater Vegas

"In 2018, the Ranch at Death Valley (formerly the Furnace Creek Ranch) got a glitzy makeover, and with it came The Last Kind Words Saloon. Longtime Death Valley visitors will recognize this as the location of the former Corkscrew Saloon, a dive bar that was known more for its pizza than its ambiance. This new incarnation feels more like the set of Westworld — think taxidermy, wooden accents, and antique guns. The menu includes steak, ribs, prickly pear-glazed salmon, chili, burgers, and plenty of whiskey to go around." - Krista Diamond

Death Valley Dining Oasis Feeds Thousands in the Hottest Place on Earth - Eater LA

"The worn wooden tables on the second-floor balcony of the Last Kind Words Saloon offer the best vantage point, at least from a people-watching perspective. The two-story bar is the center of the action, as it were, for most travelers who stop here." - Farley Elliott

The food was OK. Unfortunately, they were out of many options, but we were in Death Valley, so it is completely normal not to expect an endless food menu. They do their best. The restaurant can be crowded, and it has limited capacity, so be sure to get there early. All respect to all employees that has to work at 110 and above during the summer.

The food in general was fine, but I was at this restaurant two days in a row (and I ordered two different dishes), and on both occasions the food served was barely warm. Service and atmosphere in the venue were nice, but I was bit disappointed by food temperature. I ordered a burger, which was served with two additional side dishes. I chose baked potato and french fries. And again, the potato was served barely warm. The ribs were also fine but not hot enough for me.

Quite expensive and the quality wasn't the best. For sure, you get huge portions, and this might explain the price point, but $28 + tips for a basic pasta dish, I'm disappointed. I understand you pay the price of being in the middle of nowhere but still, when the quality isn't there this is deceiving. As a family of 6, they also asked us to split into two groups of 3 as they couldn't move tables to make a bigger one. That's the first time I've heard that! We were served by two different waiters and the tip might be the reason they did this (my guess). Still, I don't get why you would split a family that come to have dinner together. This is not a place I would recommend.

Pretty diverse menu for being just one page long. Service was very friendly and the food was served quickly. Obviously incredibly expensive for what you get, but that is completely expected in the middle of Death Valley. Though quite expensive, the quality of the food is exceptional, and the atmosphere of the restaurant gives a historical western feel that fits right in with the surrounding area.

Great place. The food is better than the resort. Not only is the food better, but the service is also great. We stopped in for lunch before heading back to the Inn, and we knew we had to be back for dinner. Fast service, great food, service, and atmosphere. A plus for apple people, they take apple pay incase if you go on a trail and forget your wallet.

Satisfactory food and atmosphere, very mixed experience. It's very obvious why this restaurant gets its traffic; options are limited. Like basically every restaurant in the area there are very few vegetarian dishes, but the pasta was filling and serviceable. Our service was well intentioned, but was trying to manage too much. The host stand was rigid and unwelcoming, unable or unwilling to try and accommodate our group when we made simple requests or asked about our reservation at the time reserved.

This place is an Oasis in death valley !! After a long day of exploring nature's marvel at Death Valley National Park, we got to spend an evening at this Restaurant/Bar. I have to say, this place is one of a kind featuring a unique interiors. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and Appetizers while watching the Football Game. Super friendly staff and engages you in the conversation if you are at the Bar counter. Definitely a must visit place!!

As good as it gets when you're out in the middle of the desert! The place is well decorated, service is quick and friendly, and the food tastes amazing! The only thing going against this place is prices, but given location this is understandable.
