"Hospitality and conviviality are the bedrock of this cosy little restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam, where you can enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere. Rogier van Dam's dishes are full of character, and nothing on the plate is superfluous. If he serves up a fillet of venison, the whole dish revolves around that ingredient. Naturally, there is also a focus on sauces and creative garnishes. The dessert of brioche stuffed with creamy Époisses is a classic of the house, and rightly so!" - Michelin Inspector

I had high expectations for this place, having tried some incredible food already during our awesome week in Amsterdam. The place looks cute from the outside and the service was top-notch. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food, which was not at par with the ‘tasting concept.’ A truly disastrous dessert (texture & flavor both wrong) and to top it off an acidic attack at night. Overpriced; underwhelming.

Amazing Michelin star dinner with 2 amuse de bush definitely worth the visit!!! We chose 4 courses but had 2 amuse de Busch added. They also selected a great glass of wine to pair it with!

Everything was great. But before food, five stars go to the staff who are very attentive and friendly. Great service, great explanation about the foods, nothing to complain there... Food was also very good from starters to dessert. I chose five meal course option and it was enough. If you are looking for a fine dining place with a cosy and friendly environment, that's the place you should try. Definitely recommended!

It was my second time in the Restaurant Lastage. It is a really lovely and incredibly cozy Restaurant that deserves a 1 Michelin star. In my last visit a year ago, the food was even close to a 2 star level (especially the red mullet with squid and tomatoes). I can only recommend this restaurant, also the value for money is quite high.

Allow me to tell you about my evening at Lastage. I’d made a reservation about two months prior and had some questions so I’d also called twice. Both phone calls were pleasant, staff seemed knowledgeable. I was even more excited. When I arrived I was told it might just be “me” for the evening. This was amazing for me because I like private dining etc…. I was assisted by Kasper and Eileen. Both were very nice and also very knowledgeable about the food and also the wine pairings (I opted for the pairing at appr. €8 per glass)… I’ll keep this review short. Food was amazing, everything was unique and elevated without being too over the top. The wine pairings were excellent as well. I’ll be back in Amsterdam next week and am considering doing another stop here. Thanks to staff and Chef for making my evening here the most amazing dining experience of my life ❤️ cheers from Arizona 🙏🏻

An absolutely perfect experience from beginning to end. My father and I indulged in the 8 course chef's tasting dinner. While my father chose to pair each course with a wine recommendation, I opted for a more staggered wine pairing- the server was very creative and accommodating in choosing my wines to go with subsequent courses. One of the best dining experiences I've had, and well worth the cost.

What is there not to love about this fine dining restaurant? The historical canal house is the perfect ambiance, with quaint split levels and high ceilings. The crew is having so much fun building an unforgettable experience for the guests and it shows in their interaction. The maitre has great knowledge of the wine combinations and a good sense of humor. The 'flight through the menu' of 8 courses was divine. No AMEX so ensure you pack your other cards.

When you walk in, the restaurant is narrow but cozy, thanks to the famous old canal-front tax. The staff's hospitality and service were unbeatable. The tasting menu was a very good experience, with a wide variety of dishes... we ended up stuffed.

Yelp
In Amsterdam, we decided to dine at Lastage which is well known among the locals. And we weren't disappointed. After all this restaurant has been awarded one MICHELIN star for its high quality cooking. In order to have a full picture of what this intimate dining place could offer, we selected the eight-dishes menu. If you like fish and seafood, like us, you won't be disappointed by the sea bass and/or turbot. But I must admit that the dish that got our taste buds into overdrive was the delicious mushroom broth which included ravioli filled with tapenade of shiitake and leaf celery. The staff was extremely friendly, and did its maximum to keep us happy as the wait time between the dishes was fairly long in some instances. To their defense, almost all the tables on the two floors were occupied that evening. On a more positive note, I would add that the price was very reasonable for the kind of food Lastage serves.

Yelp
Painfully slow/Food torture. This restaurant has zero capacity for a multicourse dinner stretching it over hours and hours. Conceptually speaking, multicourse tasting menus are built to take an eater on a gastro journey: appetizers lead to main courses which in turn lead to desserts. Drinks should be perfectly paired to courses with everything joining together into a great celebration of taste. Not Lastage! Our dinner started at 7pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. At 8 pm, we were still waiting for some appetizers and we ordered a bottle of wine (pacing was so poor that we decided to drink more). With 30-45 mins between the courses, we consumed what the waiter brought without any regard to what flavors came before or what comes after - at this point, it was about just getting some food to eat. Long story short - at about 9:45 pm, with 5 more courses remaining unserved, we asked the waitress for the bill. I paid $390 for this food torture, was not offered a refund or anything else to make our experience better.

Yelp
Great tasting torture. That's how I would describe this place. The food is amazing, but to say it's slow is an understatement. We were on hour 2 of our meal when we discovered we were less than half way through. I was apologetic when i explained to the first waiter that we would like to increase the pace if possible, as we were all extremely jet lagged - he said no problem. I also told this to the next waitress, and the next, all to very little if any effect. After another 45 mins, we simply asked if we could skip some steps and just get the check; this was also a long ordeal. Now let me be clear, they were all very nice aside from some attitude over bringing us the check quickly, but this place may just not be made for a more... disciplined pace to life. 5/5 food however.

Yelp
So, my cousin and I flew to Amsterdam to celebrate my brother's 50th. He suggested this place and it is Excellent! 5 stars because the dollar is so strong right now everything looks like a bargain in the EU. Just a few minutes from the red light district or Centraal. The ambiance is cozy, service is very good and the food is exceptionally well executed. I had a seafood medley (don't remember the name - check out the picture) that was mixed fried fish, poached squid and a seafood tartar. The combination was a riot of taste and texture that's hard to describe. Wash it down with some bubbly Rose' and you are in heaven.

Yelp
I would have given 5 stars out of 5 if the following did not happen. We were here with the office for a Christmas dinner and had 6 courses. All courses were perfect, really delicious, except my course 4, I informed the staff I do not eat pork or mushrooms in advance and I got my 4th dish served and noted there were mushrooms on the plate. When I mentioned this fact to the waitress she said the dish is exactly what you should get (beef) except the mushrooms. I asked if she was sure and she said yes. When I start eating I taste pork fat. She notes my face and walks to my table and says, ''Oh Im sorry, it is not your dish''. I had this horrible taste of pork fat in my mouth for the entire evening, also during the last two courses, it spoiled it I can say. I cannot relate this to a michelin ster restaurant, very unprofessional and unorganized. Besides the above, the dishes and their presentation were exceptional.

Yelp
I went there last year but only now I managed to write a review. Everything was perfect, we had a 3 course meal, with several appetizers served in between (if you don't eat a lot, you can have Michelin stars on a budget this way). Reserve at least 1 week before.

Yelp
Not sure how this earned the star. Service was perfectly nice and the food was average at best for the price point but the atmosphere was practically nil and our food came at an abysmally SLOW pace. I'm fine with dinner taking all evening but I don't want a 5 hour evening! Also the view is non existent and despite the best efforts of the staff it feels relentlessly down market compared to supposed inferiors like Johannes or Breda. I've been able to write this entire review AND have an hour then ruminate while waiting for 1 course, this is ridiculous! Sommelier deserves high marks but good lord is the chef slow, he's visiting with friends while EVERYONE waits on their meal!

Yelp
Excellent food. Atmosphere was visually nice. Noise was unbearable. Was unable to have a conversation without almost yelling. Left before full meal was served due to unpleasant noise level. Based on noise level I downgraded rating.

Yelp
When I booked the Table, the Lady advised me that she would have a group of 18 on the upper deck. Unexpectedly they behaved like a bunch of Irish hooligans after a lost soccer match. The noise level was so high that I couldn't even understand my wife next to me. I guess the food was good and the waiters very friendly- I don't really remember - you need to enjoy good food with all senses. My son advised me that dominos pizza would have been a better choice. Advice to the owner - don't add third party guests if you have those people in the house.

Yelp
One of the best meals I have had in Europe outside of Paris. Innovative cuisine yet sufficiently conservative to make for a filling and tasty meal with no weird "what the ^%$& was that moments". Service was impeccable, yet not stiff at all. Prices are more than reasonable given the quality of the food. Not a bad dish in our four course menu for 48 Euros. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Yelp
Always excellent! It's not surprising they earned a mich star in less than a year. Reasonable prices, great wine list (great values), top service and cozy atmosphere. Always on my list for special occassions.
