Planning a 28th Anniversary dinner date should not be taken lightly, so after much deliberation, and using the tools at my disposal (like Yelp), I opted for Late Harvest Kitchen. Fortunately, I was able to make reservations for an early evening dinner, as on a Friday night, we found it to be quite popular.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with genuine warmth, which is a perfect way to make the patron feel at ease. Yes, this restaurant does have a classy ambiance, but we were made to feel at home.
I opted for a table out on the porch, which was a delight, especially since the weather was ideal for a comfortable meal.
Our servers were extremely attentive, and made us both feel at home. The menu was treated as an engaging story, with highlights to certain items.
To start, I opted for a cocktail, the Brodo Baggins, which was a perfect blend of bourbon, blood orange, lemon, cranberry and cardamom. My kind of libation. My better half ordered one of her favorite glasses of wine.
As for our meal, my wife opted for the braised chicken thighs with polenta, shishito peppers and sauce Louis. She was more than happy to share the peppers with me. For my dish, I went with the pan-seared King Salmon with the sweet corn succotash. It was perfectly prepared and plated.
Oh my, I won't say they saved the best for last, because everything was outstanding, but our host was enthusiastic to suggest their award-winning sticky toffee pudding. It arrived piping hot and was like nothing I've ever had before.
Yes, one would say that we had a grand time at Late Harvest Kitchen. Top to bottom, a wonderful experience.
