The Best Boba in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley | Eater LA

"Latea is one of the few boba shops that makes its own boba on premises, multiple times a day. The shop uses the owner’s late grandmother’s homemade boba recipe, which she used to sell boba at Taiwanese night markets back in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Latea tries to use organic ingredients whenever possible. The Thai tea, for example, uses natural tea leaves without any orange coloring from preservatives. There is also an array of drinks that all use organic tea. The matcha latte with oat milk with longan honey boba is a fan favorite, as are the roasted brown sugar milk and tiramisu milk teas. There are a handful of dairy alternatives available as well." - Kristie Hang

OMG did someone say handmade boba? This place is awesome, and busy. I had some sample treats I've never seen before, it was out of this world. I will be back for another experience!

Google
The drinks here were… decent. They tasted alright but it wasn’t really anything distinctive that separated them from other coffee/tea shops. My husband and I came to this place because he is a pumpkin spice fanatic and wanted to try their pumpkin spice drink. It wasn’t nasty but in his own words “you could have made me this at home”. The service was okay but we definitely felt like we had to fish actually customer service out of the employee by having to ask different recommendations and explaining we were first time customers. The atmosphere was calm and study like, and we love the Culver City area. Overall the experience was alright, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to bring me back.

Very small shop, but excellent products inside! I enjoyed the mango smoothie, and my friends got more classic choices like matcha, oolong, and brown sugar milk tea. Everything was very tasty! Priced accordingly for the Culver City foot traffic that frequents it. They also sell high-grade tea separately!

Google
Found a new favorite boba store in LA. We came here for the first time and were pretty impressed with the tea. It's fresh, strong, and flavorful. The cashier was helpful and pleasant to let us try two different types of boba: brown sugar boba and honey boba. I'm curious about how it tastes without the tea, which helped me better decide. Not many places offer such things to let you try the tea or boba, so I liked how flexible they are with this. I ordered the large Cream Brulee Matcha Latter with less sugar, and my friend got the Chocolate Milktea. We both liked it! Parking is free outside if you get lucky to find it.

Google
Lovely tea and all carefully crafted for you. Plenty of selections to pick from and all drinks can be personalised with different options (milk alternatives, more or less sweet, tapioca balls, ice quantity..). Not many seating available, and there is no bathroom, but you can cross the street and enjoy your tea on the culver steps and use the public bathrooms nearby :)

Google
I love the boba here! This place serves the best & freshest pearls I've ever tasted—they make them from scratch and you can really taste the difference in every bite. I'm a big fan of their Sea Salt Cheese Foam Matcha too. it's top-notch. I would say overall their drink is very high quality. No matter what drink you choose, adding their boba as a topping is a must!

Google
Cute tea place in Culver City with A LOT of people on the weekends. I requested no added sugar for every drink. They’re at the perfect sweet level with that. Sweets are great. They’re pretty well made. Somehow we got all the orders in like 10-15 minutes but the tiramisu drink took a whole 45 minutes and many orders after us have been served much quicker. The restaurant is in the crowded area of Culver City. You can park in the city garage which is free for 1 hour. The restaurant do not have validation (if you can get validation elsewhere, it’s free for 3 hours).

Google
9/4/2023 Latea has four stores in the U.S. This is the only store in Los Angeles. The recipes came from the owner's grandma in Taiwan. Amazingly, the taste of a creme Brulee Thai tea with Boba I drank is better than most I had because it has some creamy taste. The Boba's softness with elasticity are just right. The other three stores are in Indiana, Illinois and Colorado.

Yelp
Super tasty! I was here with the family, visiting from out of town. We're from the SF/Bay area, so we have some experience to compare with when it comes to boba. Each of us went with the more desert oriented creme brulee or tira misu options since we wanted something sweet and a little different. It was all really good. The boba was fresh and had just the right texture. The tiramisu was super rich... I wanted more but restrained myself. The spot is a little small but the four of us found seats at the window bar and watched the chaotic mix of people and cars navigating around each other by the Culver Steps parking garage.

Yelp
This is what I ordered and with a tip came to $9.95. 1x Flavor Milk Tea/风味奶茶 $7.95 Lavender/薰衣草 +$0.00 R (16oz 500ml)/正常 (16oz 500ml) +$0.00 Less Sugar (75%)/少糖 +$0.00 Less Ice/少冰 +$0.00 House Made Brown Sugar Boba/自制黑糖波霸 +$1.00 Organic 2%/有机2% +$1.00 I found out about this place because of an Elite event and I fell in love with the passion the owner has and the love for his family's recipe so I came back and wasn't disappointed. So rich and creamy! So delicious! It was a crowded night because there was a drone light show at the city center. ***I would recommend someone standing by the computers that takes the orders because some people needed help and it caused a larger line up than necessary***

Yelp
Before the club, I pregame...with milk tea. Dosing up on sugar & caffeine prior to a long night out just makes sense. Latea Bubble Tea was nearby & looked welcoming. Two kiosks to order upfront. Brulee drinks and cheese foam are modern musts in my book & they got both. Got a Creme Brulee Matcha Latte with oat milk which had a vibrant green color & silky texture. I like that you can pick oat/soy/almond milk at no extra cost. The caffeine content was legit, kept me going for hours. The brulee was moderately dense and adequately sweet, enough to buffer the drink. Street parking only with pay stations, but many sections are free after 8 pm. So, if you're needing an evening pick-me-up, Latea won't let you down.

Yelp
We were in the area grabbing a late lunch and saw this on the way to the restaurant. We decided to grab some after eating since it was on the way back to the parking garage. It was kind of busy, they had interesting seating booths that are meant for like a single person. Wish I got a photo because it was really tight and different lol but there were people. We ordered through their little kiosk which was honestly more complicated than we thought? First of all, they didn't have a signature or classic milk tea so we went for what's called their Assam Milk Tea which we found out later that it was basically just a regular milk tea. And then we go to add Boba and they were out??? It was still kind of early in the day so how are you already out of boba? It was very odd. We added some other boba which still had the same, yummy, chewy texture which was good. We ordered a tiramisu to go as well that the guy almost forgot to give us. The drink itself was pretty good, boba was nice and chewy, thankfully! Not a bad spot and would try their other drinks! IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
Proud ownership, kind and polite staff producing great handcrafted drinks. Order at the automated kiosk with the ability to customize your drinks to exactly your liking. results are delicious eye appealing and leaving you wanting more. Inside seating for a pleasant experience. Great location in the very uppity part of Culver City with lots of great restaurants and bars and across from the culver stairs.

Yelp
Tried the crème brûlée matcha latte and this definitely is one of my favorites in new matcha discoveries. The crème brûlée add gave it a unique but welcome flavor. Service was quick and welcoming even with my late night last customer visit Appreciate the first visit and drink here were both positive

Yelp
We entered on a busy Sunday night. So busy that they were out of boba! 10-15 min wait for our drink. The staff were really friendly and upfront about being out of boba. Ordered a mango green tea 50% sweet and the tea was on the bitter side for a 50% sweet level. The tea itself is good quality and would likely have tasted better with boba or lychee jelly in it. Don't remember if lychee was even an option. But would come back to try the boba when it's available!

Yelp
This by far is my favorite Boba spot! They have me hooked! It's close to our job so we usually grab some boba after work. They have two kiosks you can order from or you can do it the old fashion way and someone can physically take your order. Love all their drinks, I used to get their jasmine green tea with cheese foam but I changed it up and ordered their brown sugar milk tea with cheese foam and now that's my go to drink but so far everything we have tried is really good and taste so fresh, you can taste the quality. The inside is super cute they also have a window you can see when they make their boba. If you want some quality boba I highly recommend Latea!

Yelp
Come with me to this boba tasting experience. Highlights of the menu: 1. Grapefruit green tea - refreshing drink 2. Ube creme brulee - Latea specialty drink 3. Earl grey crepe cake - housemade pastry
google avatar

Yelp
Located in downtown Culver City, this cute lounge has various yummy teas. We liked their unique Longnan Honey Boba with the Grapefruit Tea and the Jasmine Milk Tea. They also offer some cakes including Mille cakes thoughnit doesn't seem like they always have everything available. There are some adorable small nooks allowing only 1-2 people to sit, some at a bar counter, and a long table. More SoCal travel tips, IG: @grace.loves.adventures

Yelp
Great boba place with lots of unique flavors that I will definitely try next time. Got a classic brown sugar milk tea (No 1 item) and asked for a quarter sugar. Still a bit sweet to my taste but overall flavor is great! Also got a sip from my friend's matcha float milk tea and it is fantastic!

Yelp
Latea is my favorite boba spot in the LA area It has all the components of a boba spot that I like. All their milk teas comes by default organic milk. If you prefer dairy-free or an alternative then they have substitutes. They have plenty of options including regular teas, milk teas, smoothies, espresso, cold brews, and coffees. And Latea specalizes in their creamy cheese float toppers. Yum! But the best part is they make their own honey boba and brown sugar boba. And they are delicious and perfect. All drinks can be customized. You can ask for less ice and less sweet. My absolute favorite drink here is their Matcha Latte with Creamy Cheese Float with brown sugar boba at 50% sweetness. It is perfection. The matcha is premium organic matcha. I have also tried their house made creme burlee drinks which are also insanely good. Pricing at Latea is quite reasonable compared to other boba shops. Their drinks are less than $7 each. The staff is really nice and helpful and drinks are made quickly. The inside is smaller but there are places to sit and hang out. There are tables and chairs, stool seating. There's also a little small area to sit in the back as well. Latea is located right on the corner so it is easy to find. There is street parking which can be difficult or you can just park in the structure lot across the street. Parking is free the first hour.

Yelp
Handmade boba without preservatives and crap, even the famous organic Urth cafe has anti-foam in their boba. You will not find this quality of boba anywhere else in La! Addicted for life. You must come and support this hardworking business! Lisa & Cesar are so nice and accommodating! Tip them well!
google avatar

Yelp
Coming the MECA of boba in San Francisco, I've had a tough time finding amazing boba in SoCal. However, I must say latea has fresh boba tapioca balls which I do appreciate. I ordered 3 different ones and each were inclusive of fresh squishy soft boba pearls. They have multiple play based milk options although my personal pick is whole milk. The vast array of flavor options are pretty great too. I wish they had the natural coconut mango chunk options I can't seem to find anywhere in Los Angeles! Hopefully they'll join the LaTea menu soon! They do have great desserts too as well! So 4/5! Worth a trip
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
I first tried Latea at a wedding, where they had boba catered. So this was my first time in store. Strong tea flavors, able to adjust sweetness level, and my favorite perk about this place is they don't charge extra for alternative milk options!! :)
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
I really like the honey longan boba from this place, but I find that their prices are almost absurdly high! For reference, I got this mango cloud smoothie, made it a large, and added boba. It came out to $10-11 with tip! The drink itself was really yummy and unique, but it's hard to justify coming here frequently, and parking is not the easiest.
google avatar

Yelp
The boba is delicious but I had some bad customer service. My sister wanted some jelly in her boba but they forgot to put it in her drink. And when we told them that they forgot they were very rude about it.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
tl;dr Cute spot to enjoy boba in Culver, but definitely have had better-tasting drinks and boba elsewhere. Drinks-wise, the grapefruit green tea was well-flavored, but the brown sugar pearls were a tough chew and under-flavored. My friend got an almond-milk subbed milk tea and felt that their drink was overall underwhelming in flavor and echoed my comments about the boba. I would consider trying the honey boba if I came around again. The spot is very cute and does well with its size, good for individuals or groups of 2 to study or hang out. Boba came out quickly.

Yelp
Delicious roasted brown sugar milk tea! Thank you so much Angel for your purposeful service. Ambiance is great for a chillaxing, study work, with wifi & outlet

Yelp
The staff is so so sweet and accommodating! I took something back that I didn't like and they remade something for me that I'd like better. So appreciate this! Cute, clean and kind!

Yelp
I haven't had boba pearls this good in a while. The boba is handmade fresh daily in store and cooked to a perfect chewy texture. We tried the brown sugar boba and honey boba with our drinks and they were both so good! The honey boba is slightly less sweet than the brown sugar boba. For drinks, we tried the creme brulee matcha latte, brown sugar milk tea, oolong tea and the passion hibiscus tea. The creme brulee matcha latte was so well made, the earthy matcha tea pairs deliciously with the creamy slightly sweet creme brulee. The brown sugar milk tea was also delicious. We got 50% sweet and it was perfect. If you don't like creamy/milk based drinks, their fresh brewed teas are also good and refreshing. We also tried the regular, matcha, and earl grey madeleines. The earl grey was my fave. You can taste the tea and its not too overwhelmingly sweet. The service is also great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I will definitely come back for their boba!! Parking: can be difficult. Street park or park at the public parking across the street at the Culver Steps and walk over.

Yelp
I love bubble tea in general, but this place was extra good and memorable. Thank you for my delicious drink/snack/favorite food in the world! Thank you, thank you I'll be coming back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the BEST boba I've ever tasted. They make them fresh, in-house and have both a honey and a brown sugar option. They have cool flavors like creme brulee (so good!) and tiramisu. I ordered on GrubHub my first handful of times, and then eventually went in person, which was a bit disappointing due to service. I reached out to customer service and they made it right, but it still sucked that it happened in the first place. Docking one star for that and also inconsistency with drink preparation (photos). Sometimes they'll only put one little dot of crime brûlée and sometimes they fill the whole bottom of the cup. Weird. But I'll definitely miss them when I leave LA ):
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite boba shop in LA at this moment, and that's saying a lot! I've become obsessed with their Taiwan oolong milk tea. The default is dairy free creamer so you can save your extra 75 cents if you're lactose intolerant like me ;) they have homemade boba here and I always get the housemade honey boba. It's so chewy and tastes so much less processed than typical boba. I alternate between 25 and 50% sweet, but tend to enjoy 50% more! My boyfriend loves the kumquat green/black tea, try it if you also love something tart. Self order at the kiosk is easy and the drinks usually come out quickly. There's some magic in their diary free creamer because it always comes out so foamy. Good amount of seating but usually people are studying in there. It gets pretty packed on the weekends but there's plenty of seating across the street by the Culver Steps! Free 60 min parking in the garage nearby, or metered street parking.
google avatar

Virginia J.

Yelp
The brown sugar boba is really good, and you can tell them how much sugar to put in. Next time, I'll get normal sugar instead of half because I felt like my drink was a bit bland. There wasn't a long line when I was there, and the staff seemed nice since they were receptive to my questions. I thought the lids on the drink were cute cause there is a plastic stopper you can pull off to drink from and then close so it doesn't spill. The shop itself was clean although some parts of the floor were sticky... probably from spilling drinks or something. There are outlets if you want to stay and chill as well.
google avatar

Brian V.

Yelp
I came here for a Yelp event not too long ago. And honestly that's how I discovered this place. Since then I've been here a couple of times when I've been in the area now. The owner is super enthusiastic about their product and the folks usually behind the counter were super friendly and helpful every time that I've been there. In terms of ambiance, it's a cool little spot where they have Wi-Fi so some people like to hang out but it it's a corner shop in Culver City and it's not too huge. I've ordered the taro milk tea and the brown sugar milk tea on my visits. I got both of them at half sweetness because I don't like drinks to be too sweet. I'm not too well-versed in the world of multis, but I can say that these are delicious and I feel like these are made with really quality ingredients. Always a delightful treat. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area and if you're a fan of milk teas and boba, then this place rocks.
google avatar

Yelp
When someone tells me their boba and baked goods are all handmade, I appreciate it 10 times more because I know it's made with love. I believe it was the owner who kindly informed me about how much care goes into crafting each drink and pastry. Quality is definitely emphasized over quality and I could see that with all the drinks I tried. Assam Milk Tea with Honey Boba: The boba was so bouncy and chewy and, specifically with this drink, gave me a wave of nostalgia because my mom used to treat my brothers and me to boba as a kid every so often. Creme Brulee Matcha Latte: This is like your classic matcha latte elevated not with cheese foam but with housemade creme brulee mixed in the drink. I loved the creamy richness of the matcha by itself but if you want to make it more like dessert then creme brulee is the best add-on. Tiramisu Milk Tea: This is for all the chocolate milk lovers out there because it doesn't actually contain any coffee. It's just a rich Assam black tea topped with a thick layer of fresh tiramisu cream. High Mountain Oolong Tea: This was so refreshing and I honestly should've started with this one first instead of ending it because it almost felt like I was drinking nothing. Desserts: Although the madeleines were good, the lemon tart was the winner. It was also the perfect size so that it doesn't detract from the drink but acts as a little palette cleanser and snack to nibble on while you do work or talk to some friends. The service was amazing. I ordered my drink at the front but there's also a kiosk if you don't feel like talking to anyone. There's plenty of seating indoors and even some outdoors but it can get crowded during peak hours. Parking is going to be at a nearby parking garage for a few dollars but it's not bad considering there are a lot of other stores nearby that you can also walk to and try out.

Yelp
We just went to this tea shop and we met the owner of the shop. He is super friendly and helpful also explained and promoting food and drinks to us. He gave us some free samples to taste as well. A very super cool owner! The environment was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our time there and will definitely going back again. Thank you
google avatar

Melanie F.

Yelp
Gritty gritty, powdery, yuck. The ube tea: you literally needed to chew through all the undesolved powder. I wouldn't come back. The only reason this isn't one star is my husband's brown sugar tea with almond milk was decent.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I've been back a few times now, and I'm absolutely in love with the High Mountain tea with cheese foam! Just the right amount of sweetness (50% is a must). Jasmine tea with cheese foam is a solid second. A solid tea place with great cheese foam drinks. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First time here ever. Experience was overall great. The owner was super friendly, spoke to us and we had a friendly conversation a little about the history of the family owned company business. It was very easy to order. The gentleman was so nice to even give us a sample so quickly to try. Tried the ube brûlée. IT WAS DELICIOUS. It was so good I immediately ordered it. The owner was so nice to accommodate some special requests and addressed our concerns immediately. Nice and friendly staff, smiling owner happy and excited to talk to us. We are not just a number and we can tell he truly cares and passionate about his business, his product, and customers. Will definitely be back. The price point was reasonable. The place was quite small, and busy that weekend with little room and space inside--but busy is good for the business which means a lot of foot traffic. You can place your order on the kiosks for faster service.

Yelp
So cute! So zen! Me loves! Here's why... - right across the street from The Culver Hotel and Amazon Studios - parking is good if you have time to wait for meters or are ok parking underground at The Culver Stairs - so many great restaurants and scenery - the matcha without the creamy foam and with honey is good if you're avoiding sugar! - pricey BUT you get a cute reusable cup! And other benefits like a cool temp workspace - no frills service, you order and they deliver lol which I'm ok with no small talk - limited snacks fyi - no public use restroom probably bc of all the homelessness - lots of places to sit with power for those dead tech items! - low key chill music playing

Yelp
I love that they have so many options ! They had very fast service and the drinks were delicious. The ambiance was very chill as well.

Yelp
I ordered the Thai tea. It wasn't amazing, so I'd order a different drink next time. However, my partner ordered oolong tea with a cheese cap and man... if you're a fan of cheese caps, this is a must try. It's worth noting that, my partner did not originally want a drink, but they were serving samples of oolong tea for free. The sample tasted so good, he ordered his drink. There's also a window for you to watch how the boba is made. They weren't making any when I visited, but I like the idea!

Yelp
Pretty good boba spot located in downtown Culver City! Great to grab a drink in a hot day. Plenty of seating options if you want to sit alone for some work time, or chill with friends. Service was fast!

Yelp
For boba in Downtown Culver City, Latea is a pretty good spot to get boba milk tea. I ordered the Cream Brûlée Matcha Latte. The cream brûlée is at the bottom of the drink to start, so I would recommend mixing up the drink with your straw first. The matcha flavor was great and tasted high quality. I feel like the cream added to this drink giving it a milkier smooth taste too. The brown sugar boba was also nice and chewy. The drink is a 5 star, but the price is definitely not. I paid $7.25 for a large size + $0.75 for the brown sugar boba, and it all came out to about $10 total with tax and tip. This seems very expensive to me, but I do understand that they are Downtown Culver so they probably have to charge more. I wish their drinks weren't as expensive, but I would probably still return for more drinks if I'm walking around Downtown Culver and eating at one of the other food places nearby.

Porscha F.

Yelp
This boba is not it!! I feel duped by all the positive reviews. I placed an online order, walked in and was not acknowledged or greeted by the two people sitting down chatting behind the counter. Not the best initial experience, but I'm here for boba not friends. I went over to the pickup area looking for my drink, but it wasn't visible for a quick grab. I was also a couple minutes early for my pickup so I waited while I watched them continue their chat. After a good 5 minutes passed and no one was making a drink, I walked up to the counter to announce I was picking up an order. One of the staff went to grab it and gave it to me. No words exchanged. Fine. I took a sip on my walk back to my car and was unpleasantly surprised when I sucked up slimy boba. Thought I had a bad few so I took another sip and nope the boba is slimy and mushy. The milk tea is also gross. Overly sweet when I ordered less sweet and more ice. The fact that parking was not easy to get here is enough to keep me away, but the nasty drink guarantees I won't be back.

Yelp
AMBIENCE: (4/5) - Modern & warm with the light wood and yellow lights hanging - Right across the street from the Culver City Steps which is where I sat in the sun as I enjoyed my drink - Small place, just the entrance where you can line up to order & a few seats on the other side with tall windows reaching to the ceiling from the floor so the bright Cali sun can shine in SERVICE: (5/5) - I asked the 2 guys working there what they would recommend & they were very receptive to my questions & took the time to answer them - Drink was made super fast too. It wasn't busy but I appreciate the promptness FOOD/DRINKS: (3/5) - Ginger Milk Tea = Creamy with a tinge of sweetness. Wish it could've been just a bit more gingery. Seems like they used ginger syrup rather than real ginger, so it didn't have the warm feeling & tingling in the back of the throat that fresh ginger typically gives. Wish it also could've been a bit stronger in the tea undertone. I feel like besides the bit of ginger it was mostly the whole milk that I tasted than the tea OVERVIEW: (3.5/5) - I didn't not like my drink but most likely won't order it again since it wasn't gingery enough (that could just be my personal taste) & the milk tea wasn't that strong in the tea taste. I would still come back again since their other drinks seem to have good promise

Yelp
In the bustling Culver City downtown, one anticipates a boba shop to excel. Unfortunately, our visit brought disappointment with average boba. To worsen matters, a 28 cent fee accompanies kiosk use. With better boba alternatives around, I'd recommend bypassing this spot.
google avatar

Richie D.

Yelp
I tried their grapefruit tea with boba! Light ice and less sugar. Very very delicious! Please have very patience during peak times of boba hour as they craft every drink. Indoor and outdoor seating. They also have tasty pastries to pair with your teas. If you'd like to see how boba is made, they have a see through window inside where you can take a peak!

Yelp
I personally really loved my drink at Latea! I got the Ube Cream Brulée Milk Drink with Brown Sugar Boba and half sugar. My friend got the Taro Milk Tea with brown sugar boba, and we both enjoyed her drink as well. The drinks are on the sweet end, so I will opt for zero sugar next time, as half sweet was still very sweet. In terms of ambiance, I love the ample seating. Some of the seats were dirty, but we were able to find a cute table outside. The service was excellent and the workers were nice as well. Will definitely come back and choose the no sugar option.

Yelp
9/4/2023 Latea has four stores in the U.S. This is the only store in Los Angeles. The recipes came from the owner's grandma in Taiwan. Amazingly, the taste of a creme Brulee Thai tea with Boba I drank is better than most I had because it has some creamy taste. The Boba's softness with elasticity are just right. Their boba is tasty and delicious The other three stores are in Indiana, Illinois and Colorado.

Yelp
Cute new, little place in Culver City! Very nicely decorated and has a very relaxed vibe What we got: brown sugar milk tea 50% ice and sweetness, assam milk tea 50% ice and sweetness with boba - both drinks were really smooth, though I wish I got boba in mine. Felt like the tea was really strong. Wanted to try one of their specialty drinks (tiramisu or special matcha drinks seem good!) but opted for something more simple before work Would come back! Service was sweet Obviously the biggest pain is parking in this area! It's street metered only, unless u park a few blocks down (in n out side) in the residential, and busy/hard to find. There's a parking garage across the street

Yelp
Don't know how I'm so LATE(a) to the party, but Latea is definitely one of my new favorite spots for boba in LA. I'm in love with their uniquely crafted drinks, which are all so decadent, well thought-out, and meticulously created from only the highest quality ingredients. Here's what I tried: Ube milk tea: literally the most creamy and deeply flavorful ube drink that I've ever had! I'm typically not the biggest fan of ube, but this is one of the BEST drinks that I've ever tried, especially with its emphasis on the flavors of ube, creme brulee, and brown sugar. Tiramisu: your favorite tiramisu cake, but in a lighter and drinkable form! I love how they use such high quality chocolate powder for this drink, and how you it's not overly sweet or overwhelming. Strawberry matcha latte: highly recommend, especially with their commitment to using the highest quality ceremonial matcha powder from Japan, as well as fresh strawberries! Fresh orange tea: love the strong and fragrant flavors of the tea and orange in this drink! Mango smoothie: also one of their most popular drinks!

Yelp
Came here a while ago and completely forgot to leave a review! I love that this place is super convenient with a parking garage across the street from it. Obviously if you come at a good time you'll find a parking spot if not just park at Trader Joe's and walk here. It's right on the corner and easy to spot! I liked that i was able to make my own drink using the kiosk but with that i forgot to add the most important thing..... ACTUAL BOBA! I was mid sipping when I realized my mistake and I'm like yea....rookie mistake It was slow when I came in but i was greeted by one of the employees as i stepped inside. I must say i sat for a few minutes and the table was dirty.... So hopefully they up their game in the cleanliness especially when it's slow like the day I went. I will return and give it another go and actually add boba this time

Yelp
I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to try out different drinks Latea has in their menu. Latea is located at a prime location in culver city with popular restaurants around it. Parking in this area is pretty easy because they have a parking structure nearby. I think Latea is one of the best boba places that you can find in LA. It is authentic especially that its recipe comes from Taiwan and originated from Latea owner's grandma recipe! The best drink by rank: #1 Roasted Brown Milk Tea with honey boba: This gotta be one of best milk tea. It has the perfect texture, definitely not watered down. You can request less sweetness if you are afraid of it being too sweet. #2 Matcha Latte with cheese foam: when we came here for the Yelp event, the crowd really loved the matcha latte! Drink it straight by sipping it from the cup. #3 Tiramisu Latte: So good and so unique! It is black tea based so you dont have to worry much about the caffeine level. They put the layer of caffeine powder only at the top. #4 Fresh Grapefuit tea with honey boba: This fresh and slightly bitter drink is so refreshing and will be a perfect companion in summer. #5 Oolong tea: If you prefer to go with just basic tea, and not fancy kind of drink- Try their homemade oolong tea. Made from real tea leaves they brewed at their location. For dessert: #1 French Lemon Tart: Wow! This took me by suprised because many boba places dont offer pastries. But Latea's lemon tart is really good and perfectly combined with their milk tea. #2 Madelines: Dip your madelines into your matcha latte cheese foam or the tiramisu latte. They paired well together. Overall, Latea offers such splendid and high-quality boba drinks, with variety of drinks to choose from! Really really good and highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back here often as regular customer. Their boba is also homemade. They have a boba making zone at the back which is pretty cool. Service is great, they are really nice. There are plenty of seats inside and great vibe in the location.

Yelp
Stopped in for a boba and ordered a matcha creme brûlée and it was delicious! The boba is perfectly chewy, and the creme adds a nice sweetness and creaminess to the matcha. The service was friendly and quick. I just wish these drinks were slightly cheaper. They're a bit on the higher end for boba, I spent about $9 for my drink.

Yelp
We've never seen boba being made before so it was really cool to watch how it's made. *Roasted brown sugar milk tea. Sooo smooth and just the right level of sweetness. Not sure if watching boba being made makes it taste better, but the chewiness was perfection. *Lemon tarts: so creamy and refreshing. Lemon flavor wasn't too strong. *Passion hibiscus. It was like a hibiscus lemonade refresher. Not too sweet with chewy boba! *Earl grey cookies: perfectly chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. I'm a sucker for all things earl grey, so this was delicious (matched better with the brown sugar milk tea in our opinion). *Chocolate and matcha Madelines dipped in a creamy cheese float. These Madeline's were so soft and airy with subtle flavor. The cheese float was a great combination. *Ube crème brûlée: this was like a soft serve, smoothie, pudding, milk tea-- all in one ! So creamy and smooth. Overall: the service was great, flavors were on point and the level of sweetness in the drinks and treats were perfect for me. (I don't like too sweet) We loved everything so much & def will be returning customers!
