"You know it’s autumn in Seattle when the horse chestnuts start falling, your ceilings are full of those little brown house spiders, and José Garzon puts his seco de pollo back on the menu. This rich golden stew is an Ecuadorian specialty that can be made with any kind of meat, and Garzón bases his around chicken thighs and potatoes, with lots of sofrito and garlicky aji sauce as well as a dose of vinegar to punch it up. Then it’s garnished with a serrano- and Thai chili–loaded cucumber relish to make the soup as beautiful as it is flavorful. If you’re feeling more than peckish, the crisp milanesa sando was pretty much made for dippin’." - Eater Staff, Meg van Huygen

"Garzón expands the definition of Latin American street food beyond empanadas and croquetas. Located in Black Cat Bar in Belltown, the food can be enjoyed alongside a fruity cocktail or boozy popsicle during the summer. The pork soba noodle saltado is the star of the small menu. Each noodle comes coated in a flavorful garlic soy sauce and the dish is topped with marinated pork shoulder and a crispy fried egg. Dine-in, take-out, and delivery are available." - Elizabeth Delgado, Chandler Petersen

Anything you order from here is SO DAMN GOOD! Garzon will not disappoint 💯%. It's conveniently located in a bar so you can grab a drink and take a seat to enjoy your night out. We can't get enough of the fried chicken, skewers and fried rice! Thank you Chef Jose & Chef Stef 😚🤌

Google
Ordered through DoorDash. Overall was disappointed. The Seasonal Veg was just a chard bowl and I feel was missing something compared to the picture they show. The rice bowl was extremely oily. The fries were just standard crinkle cut fries. The fried chicken was good. The portion sizes are somewhat small but not too bad relative to cost.

Google
This was my first meal in Seattle and it did not disappoint! I was looking for a takeout spot that was open late - this hit the spot. The Carne Asada Fried Rice was still hot when I got back to my room; it was spicy and super flavorful. Might have to go back again before I leave town!

Google
I REALLY love Garzon. I have had this on my “want to go” list for a while and I absolutely regret not making it here sooner. The staff was incredibly friendly, efficient (quick), and made quality meal. Despite having dinner before heading over we still ordered ourselves the Picada which was so unbelievably comforting that we managed to eat the whole thing. It was delicious and such a wholesome experience. I can’t wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu.

Ananya

Google
This restaurant is a walk up window located inside of a bar and let me tell you.. the food was SO GOOD! We had the carne asada fried rice with a fried egg and some hot sauce as well as the seasoned fries with the red onion aioli. The service was quick and the food was flavorful and satisfying! Definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu lol!

Google
First off 12/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Now down to the nitty gritty. This is amazing food that you simply have to try and it honestly ranks as the Top places I have ever eaten, and I've eaten at countless places. You will be hard pressed to find a more unique and utterly delicious menu anywhere else. Please make sure you order the Carne Asada Fried Rice if it is still on the menu when you go.

Google
I had tried Garzon when it didn’t have this permanent location yet and had been wanting to go to their new location in beltown! To say the least, I was beyond happy with the food, I tried and absolutely loved all items (ceviche, choripán and moros with pork belly). This menu reminds me so much of back home in Ecuador and it is extremely authentic to those flavors, it was nostalgic to get a piece of that so far here in Seattle. Absolutely will be back and 100% recommend to anyone who wants to try some amazing South American flavors. Can’t wait to go back!!

Google
If you visit Seattle, you should see Garzon. If you are adventurous, the food differs slightly from a typical restaurant—food from a region of Ecuador. Ceviche with a bit of peanut butter, pork belly on an arroz con moros, and my favorite, the fried chicken. I think Garson should get a Michelin star just for the chicken. I would say the best chicken I have tried.

Yelp
Met up with a friend after work here and the food -- the high rated reviews are worthy. We got the - fried chicken thighs - linguiza wok'd green beans - aji papas fritas. Also got mocktails at the bar which I thought had a complex, yet manageable flavor. My friend and I agreed that the green beans were thee best: there was so much flavor and the textures within the appetizer were *chefs kiss* I'd come back here in a heartbeat and can't wait to try everything else on the menu. Also, this place is dog friendly!

Yelp
Went to Garzon's for the first time visiting the area. Came as a recommendation from my sister, and was blown away by the food. I'm a huge fan of unique fusion plates and this one did not disappoint. We went at a pretty late time, but service was great, and the owner was kind enough to place our order for takeout to enjoy. I missed the spot at first because it is located inside the Black Cat bar, just in case you don't see it either! Every plate had a unique twist to a classic Asian or Latin inspired dish. We had the carne asada fried rice (amazing and very tender), fried chicken thighs (fried to perfection, boneless and full of flavor, probably one of my favorite chickens now), and pork bites (juicy and full of flavor)! Highly recommend checking this place out if you can.

Yelp
It was my first time in Seattle and was hungry. Found this place on Yelp and seen all the good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. The service was really good, the young lady that took my order was really nice and answered any questions that I may have had on their food. The carne asada fried rice was a good portion and still had left over.

Efrain L.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! There should be a line of people waiting to try the food here. Their style seamlessly blends Latin and Asian cuisines, resulting in a remarkable culinary experience. The food itself deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10. My only minor complaint is that the restaurant is located within a bar, and personally, I believe the bar should be housed within the restaurant instead. However, I understand that the bar has its own charm as a decent dive, so I don't suggest getting rid of it entirely. Nevertheless, I feel that the restaurant deserves its own independent space. Despite the absence of traditional servers, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They even took the time to peek out of their window to ensure we were satisfied, giving us a thumbs up. I will definitely be visiting this place again in the future. We opted for the tasting menu priced at $39, and every plate was devoured with pleasure.

Raymond A.

Yelp
The customer service and environment were amazing. The food we ordered for takeout was not. We ordered the: carne asada fried rice, linguiza wokd green beans, and fried spam egg roll. The carne asada rice came with a chimichurri drizzle and fried egg on top. It was way too salty and oily. The green beans were hyped up to be having a lot of umami flavor but ended up just being even saltier than the rice. After one bite you'd need to drink a sip of water. The fried spam egg roll was ok but the price of $10 for 2 just did not feel worth it. The cashier and everyone was so kind. The inside seemed very cool to catch a drink and talk. We were just really disappointed with how the food turned out.

Yelp
Located alongside the Black Cat Bar, Garzon is a hidden place you'll have check out for yourself! Coming into the establishment, you'll be greeted with a dimly-lit atmosphere with a bar to your left and some arcade-style games towards your right. Walking forward towards the end of the place you'll find the window where you can order from Garzon. I really like the size of the menu, it's on the smaller end but you're hassle-free from so many choices and you just know that with these few items, the chef and team will put in their all into these delicious dishes. I had ordered the noodle dish while my other two friends ordered the carne asada fried rice. The meat from the noodles was delicious and the egg added a nice texture to the dish! Maybe it's just me, but the noodles that night didn't satisfy me all that much. Overall a solid dish though! I also had a bite of my friends carne asada fried rice, and oh my goodness! I wish I ordered that instead, it was so flavourful and I know I would gobble that whole thing up so quickly. Overall a fun little place to go to with some great food! Would come back again

Yelp
I tried the 4 course tasting menu from Garzón and wow it blew me away. First I was really impressed with the amount of vegetarian/dairy-free/gluten-free options despite having a small menu. There's something for everyone! The dishes are portioned perfectly and seriously have some of the best and most unique flavor combos i've ever tried. The veggie noodles were such perfect texture, flavor, and the fried egg on top was chefs kiss. The banana bread pudding was also sooo nicely warmed, packed with subtle flavor, and all around yummy. Overall, I had such a pleasant experience here and was treated with so much care, i can't wait to return :)

Silvia M.

Yelp
First time here and I loved everything!!! It's so refreshing to have amazing Latin street food here in Seattle, my favorite was the chicken thighs and the rice and the steak pinchos, really hit the spot!! The customer service was impeccable, will definitely recommend to everyone !

Tara H.

Yelp
Garzon serves up amazing food for good prices. It is way better than your typical bar food. They are located within Black Cat and typically operate from Wednesday to Saturday. We tried their carne asada fried rice, which was my favorite of the two meals we ordered. The serving size is quite large and you can share amongst at least 2 people. We also tried their pork soba noodle saltado with a fried egg. This dish was also very tasty and I'd highly recommend the addition of the crispy fried egg. We also came in here one night because they were showcasing a Columbian street hot dog, which my husband enjoyed a lot. Overall, a great food spot in Belltown that I definitely plan to frequent. P.S.--They have a rotating menu, so the best way to stay updated is to follow them on Instagram.

Naomi J.

Yelp
Dimly lit with very loud aggressive music (death metal? Lots of screaming) but good food! Reviews said the fried rice was a must-try, we enjoyed it as well as the fried plantains (both dishes came with aeoli).

Sarah C.

Yelp
Amazing food place tucked away in the back of Black Cat bar in Belltown. We got the Carne Asada Fried Rice and the Seco de Pollo, both were super flavorful and cooked to perfection, with generous portions as well. It was about $35 and enough food for four. Great hidden gem!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Presentation? 10/10 Friendliness? 10/10 Service? 10/10 Food wise, not good unfortunately. The best part of it was the eggs. This may be a 1 time occurrence, but this was my honest opinion of what I ate today. Now I'm going to go get some McDonalds.

Lexy F.

Yelp
This place is exceptional. We had the carne asada fried rice, choripan, and fried chicken thighs. Everything was excellent. Plus you can get a beer at black cat while you wait! Can't wait to go back!

Anita M.

Yelp
My partner & I got the treat yo self tasting to try the different foods. For the snacks we got fried chicken thighs & steak pinchos. Our main was the carne asada fried rice & dessert was flan de queso. We were absolutely disappointed with our amount of food first of all. Fried chicken thighs- tiny four pieces with tiny sauce. They were bit too salty for me. Steak pinchos- two skewers but they were the tiniest skewers I have ever seen in my life. The flavor of the meat was okay. Stay away from this one! Carne asada fried rice- we thought it was okay. I was really excited for this one but felt weak in flavor. It was served a small black to go container & it was only half full from the container. Flan de queso is made by Havanas sweet shop, Cuban bakery in Fremont. I thought it was decent. Probably my favorite part. Presentation: I saw all these cool pictures of all the food in plates. Our presentation was not there. We came in our group. All of food was served in to go containers. Service: The young lady making our food. It was super friendly. This was one of the best part. Overall: We paid $42 for treat yo self tasting. If it would've been advertised as small tasting sizes for all the entrees than I would've been inclined to get a full plate for each of us. In the end, we were very disappointed because we really wanted to love it. I didn't think of Latinx food came to mind eating our food.

Johnny O.

Yelp
Food is way too greasy , like dripping in oil , would not recommend if you are sensitive to foods and high fats. One of my friends got a bad case of the runs from here and it was very pricey. Service was good though but that can't save them

K G.

Yelp
I have been waiting a really long time to come and try this place out! The hubby and I got a sitter and made the 45 min drive down tonight. The lady who took our order was super sweet and friendly. We ordered the carne asada fried rice, seco de pollo, and aji papas fritas. The seco de pollo was amazing and aji papas fritas were good too. Sadly the carne asada fried rice was way too salty and tasted a bit burnt. Not sure if it was just an off night or what but I was super bummed with my carne asada fried rice.

Yelp
Black Cat - Garzon Latinx Street Food 12.14.2022 On a chilly Wednesday night at 7:08 p.m., I entered the red-light glowing Black Cat Bar, Seattle, which was tastefully filled with community and gambit. Every Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to close, Belltown Chess is held. There is plenty of seating at the bar and elsewhere. During this time, pinball is 100% available, and there are no requirements for silence, as Iron Maiden is made aware at a comfortable high note. Tonight, I Indulged into two Items from Garzon Latinx street food Menu PATACONES Twice-fried plantains with aioli--dangerously delicious. After taking the first couple bites of crispy, lip-smacking fried bananas, I paused, and my mind drifted into my inspired foodie dream land. Enter Dream Land Thoughts: I want this delicious snack, but I want it prepared for a celebration with my family and friends. Patacones multiplied by 12 on a platter alongside a gathering of nice, big, saucy grilled fish, and I'm sure the chef at Garzon could come up with something even better than I could imagine elevating the cuisine experience. Patacones multiplied by 12 on a platter alongside a gathering of nice, big, saucy grilled fish, and I'm sure the chef at Garzon could come up with something even better than I could imagine elevating the cuisine experience. I'm making a note in my phone to remind myself to email Garzon about catering menus in the future. This is an absolute must! STEAK PINCHOS Three marinated and grilled steak skewers paired with the house aji &aioli. Every time I have had this snakish dish, I have enjoyed it. Over the course of the year, regardless of location or pop-up, it has evolved into a mighty fine savory treat. The house aji with spices gives it a nice mild kick and is a pleasurable partner with the forward aroma of garlic in their creamy aioli. This is a generous deal at a reasonable fare of $10. My unusual pairing was a double Aperol spritz. Aperol, to me, informs my body to get ready for a delicious meal, preferably during the daytime or evening before meals. I will choose an aperitif or amaro before diving into the classics. This spritz, which can be off-putting to some due to its herbaceous sweetness and improper sparkling to club soda ratio, is done appropriately by Black Cat! Long story short. Dine at the Black Cat, Experience Garzon, Play Chess on Wednesdays and relax with a proper bevy of your choice.

Robert G.

Yelp
The carne asada meat sticks ate overpriced and will leave you hungry. Avoid this spot.

Andrew W.

Yelp
I don't know what Robert down there is talking about, but the Carne Asada kabobs slap. The tenderness of the meat reminds me of a newborn mother's tender love and care. The flavor is what Spice traders in the 1800s searched for. It's the talk of gods. You're a bite away from flavor town. And if you are broke and can't afford them. Get them bands up. It's worth a second order.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Tried the carne asada fried rice at Garzón, located in the Black Cat, and I am still dreaming about this dish (and planning on how to get it again). Rice texture was perfectly chewy and the flavor was bold, savory, and paired so well with the carne asada and aioli. Get it with a fried egg. So. Tasty.

Guinnivere R.

Yelp
Yummy empanadas! I finally chased them down when they were at Toggle's Bottle Shop (which was also cool). Very friendly cook, knows his stuff, and loves to cook. Portions were small, tasty, and affordable. I will be there with bells on next time they come back to Toggle's.

David J.

Yelp
Carne asada fried rice. Everyone should try it. This place is amazing! The patacones were also excellent. I had the chance to chat with the owner as well and he was very kind. I will definitely be back to try more food.

David D.

Yelp
Latinx Street Food in the REGION doesn't get better than GARZON; takes me back to my Latin roots and time living in Fl. Amazing food, great vibe, great portions, perfect place for a date night or with friends. Service is incredible and personal. I recommend getting a bit of everything and sharing it all family style. Oh, and don't forget to add a side of chimichurri áloe... you won't regret it!

Leandra M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS FOOD, I've hopped a couple of bars, and this food is by far the best, and the cute server 10/10, shes super sweet even when 5 of us came in 10 minutes before closing

Ashley B.

Yelp
Wow wow wow get yourself OVER HERE! The food is exceptional, unlike anything else you can get in the area. It's clear that the chef and crew are committed to the craft. Service was excellent and the FOH staff was so friendly. Grab a drink at the bar (Black Cat), bring a buck or two for ski ball, order one of EVERYTHING, and have yourself one hell of a date night. Will absolutely be back! (For those across the lake, trust me when I say: the trip from Eastside is worth it for this place!)

Tim T.

Yelp
Good as hell. Wish I could rate 7 stars. Menu is small but all food is outstanding. Excellent pairing with Black Cat even though the vibes are totally opposite

Christian C.

Yelp
I have gone to multiple pop up locations and each time I have tried every menu item. Every time. I've had their "breakfast for dinner" theme food as well as their lunch and dinner specials and there is so much flavor that has always brought me back for more. I had a friend come out and eat with me and the next week he was asking ME when the next pop up was and if we were going! Everything from the Carne Asade fried rice to the Chepo Bowl with Mojo pork, rice, guisoda beans, salsa criolla and plantain chips, this food is a must try if you are in Washington!

Matthew T.

Yelp
Hands down the best latin food around. Garzon's pop-ups are amazing, tasty, and fun to attend! Be sure to check 'em out for authentic Latino street foods. It's not just good food. Its an experience!!

Pony C.

Yelp
Caught the pop-up a couple times at Josh's Taps and Caps in Snohomish. Their food is soooo good! The beef yuca fritter was impossible. Totally amazing!

Amber H.

Yelp
So happy I tried this pop up restaurant and popped some of their amazing food into my belly! I had the delicious Niño Pobre and was given a generous free taste of the plantain coffee cake. Not only was the food incredible and bursting with flavor, but the staff was super friendly and kind. Yum!

Monica G.

Yelp
I have been able to dine at the pop ups twice this month, the consistency, professionalism, and flavors are AMAZING. The Chapo Bowl is so balanced, the chimichurri aoli is a great acidic pop, the pork is so juicy, and such a large meal for the price! I think we have been to 3 pop up total and they were all perfect. The Garzon team really knows what they are doing. We can't wait to see what they create next.

Jordan B.

Yelp
I try my hardest to attend every one of his pop-up events. Chef Jose brings authenticity, life, and passion to not only his food, but into the atmosphere of his events. Chef Jose, Stephanie, and Maggie makes sure every customer get treated like family. His menu constantly changes but his consistency doesn't. I look forward to attending more of his events and hope to see his craft evolve into something bigger! Hopefully a more brick & mortar type thing. The Patacones con queso as well as the Bolones de verde are the two dishes I continuously crave! Definitely worth trying if you see it on one of his menus. Garzon Latinx Street Food should be on everyone's list to attend!
