Lattanzi Cucina Italiana

Elegant Italian cuisine close to Broadway theaters in a fabulous setting with exposed brick walls, crisp white tablecloths, excellent cocktail and wine selection, amazingly friendly service, and 1st class desserts & coffee. I have been here twice in 3 years and this restaurant goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, special, like part of the family, and provide for every comfort during your meal. Never did we feel rushed and there is someone constantly refilling your water or drink. We ordered a bottle of wine and didn't touch the bottle to refill our glasses as the servers anticipated our every need. Definitely highly recommend the Artichoke appetizer, Gnocci, Buccatini, Seafood pasta, Affogato al Café, & Cheesecake. They are also tech savvy with some menu offerings on a tablet which they leave at your table to peruse at your leisure. Mostly adults when we were there on Saturday night each time, but there were families as well. I recommend Lattanzi to anyone looking to have a wonderful dining experience and for a restaurant that has served the Broadway district since 1984.

Service by David (King David) was excellent! David was very accommodating, especially to our granddaughter. The atmosphere was excellent and perfect. Reservations are recommended. The veal piccata with a side of Angel hair pasta Ali ola was excellent. The linguine Bengali was also excellent and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The ravioli with porcini mushrooms was excellent as was the pasta carbonara. Dessert was a variety of chocolate mousse, cheesecake made with ricotta.(wonderful.!) and sorbet. Lattanzi was the perfect dining experience after a long day of touring.

I really enjoyed the vibe inside of Lattanzi - the servers are great and the mood is intimate. Came here with a large group and we got a few appetizers and our own entrees. What stood out to me the most was the calamari and the veal shank. The calamari wasn’t too fried the veal was very tender. Would definitely come back again if I’m looking for a spot in the area and have a larger group. The desserts were a nice plus as well, get the napoleon if you’re interested in trying one.

Every single part of our dinner was delicious. Starting from the bread then the appetizer and each Entree we had was absolute flavor. Coming from an Italian who eats good food on a regular basis, This place was amazing! Even the drinks were perfect. Great service too and lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great Italian ambience and food… I don’t live in NYC but I’ll be back here real soon.

For this trip to NYC, this was the only one that we strongly plan to revisit. For pre-theater dining, the food was solid. We ordered grilled octopus, linguine alle vongole, and lamb chops. We drank two glasses of wine. For dessert we had tiramisu, sorbet, and decaf coffee. Across the board all the food was of consistent good quality. Service was friendly but there were a couple of minor slips, they forgot (but did not charge) an extra side of vegetables we ordered. Also, they did not serve separately each course as we requested when placing our order (i.e. pasta and main course brough together but surprisingly things did not get too cold). Given the usual chaos of pre-theater dining, we are generally tolerant of these slips and such mistakes are server dependent. Given the tasty food, we would likely give Lattanzi another try. Total price for everything listed including tax and 20% tip was about $240. This is about what you'd expect for the location and represents a fair value.

Loved the “happy” vibe! It was buzzing! The artichokes were delicious! Like butter! The chicken with spinach was tender! And the fruit plate and coffee hit the spot! Zaman, Luca and Stefan were attentive, personable and professional! We will be back! Ciao!

Came here on a Saturday Night. The moment I went in they took our coats in a closet which was very nice. It was pretty busy and the service was great. Pretty authentic Italian dishes starting from homemade mozzarella to i’m pretty sure homemade spaghettis. The flavors were very rich and all the dishes were great! They don’t really give big portions compared to their prices but it is still very good. Really would recommend this place if you are looking for good Italian food nearby with great service!

Restaurant expertly accommodated a private dinner in one of their private rooms. Everything about the evening was superb. The Manager thought of everything and delivered. Wonderful food, staff, service and atmosphere

Lattanzi is hands down the best restaurant in town. As a hotel server nearby I always send my guests there and they come back raving. No one is ever unhappy. For myself, I always go when I go to Times Square for a show and eat there. Great food (have the risotto!), drinks, service and decor. Tell 'em Rita sent you!

Lattanzi can be found on restaurant row hidden among so many restaurants. If you want Italian, with good food, service and ambiance then Lattanzi is your place. The service was top notch and as soon as we were seated the waiter asked if we were going to a show or just got out. This set the pace for our dining experience. The one unique, amazing item in the bread basket was the flat oil and garlic flavored matzo like piece. Delicious. Drinks were yummy and didn't disappoint. Dinner was quite good and served average sized portions. All in all I'd go back!

My husband and I came here for Valentine's day after doing a random search on Yelp - It was my mission to get good Italian food while in NYC, and Lattanzi fit the bill! We showed up early for our reservation but they were still able to seat us right away. This restaurant is very small but has a cozy ambiance. Our service was friendly and SO quick! I think we were in and out within 30 minutes, no joke. I had the carbonara and enjoyed it. I can't remember what my husband ordered but he devoured it so quick that I can say he very much enjoyed his, too! We were seeing a show afterward at the Lunt-Fontanne theatre and this was an easy walk to there. Definitely would recommend Lattanzi!

Very nice restaurant with kind servers and hostess. Enjoyed chicken franchese, artichoke hearts, Burrata, and more! Felt like vips and had great service the entire time!

We really enjoyed our lunch at Lattanzi. The dining room was such a nice spot to escape the crowds and relax. We had the 3 course lunch, all dishes were delicious: arugula salad, artichoke appetizer, cacio e pepe, saltimboca, napoleon and tiramisu. we were also treated to a delicious coconut gelato. It was a wonderful meal & we'll definitely be back.

The food is just bland. I didn't know a restaurant in NYC can survive with food this unmemorable.

Came in for restaurant week before seeing & Juliet and had a great time. The menu had plenty of options for $60pp. The inside was nicely done with lots of Italian relics. The service was immaculate. Our waiters never let our waters go empty, they topped every plate with freshly ground pepper as well as topping your plate with cheese (as preferred). The homemade mozzarella was incredible. You could tell it was so fresh and paired so nicely in the appetizer. The homemade bread was so soft and flavorful. My meal was the fettuccine ragú which was made with homemade fettuccine. This was probably some of the best pasta I've ever had. The meat sauce was so well done and executed perfectly. My friend had the bucatini which was also homemade and she loved it. We both finished with the tiramisu which was excellent. We loved our time here and were really impressed with the service, the food and the ambiance!

The food and service is amazing! The best meal of the entire trip! Bravo! There were four of us, and everyone raved about the meal. I had been there before and was so delighted that it was as good if not better than my previous experience.

We had planned a night at the theater and were looking for someplace for a nice dinner that could get us in and out pretty quickly and was a reasonably short walk to the theater. When you add in the fact that we love Italian food, Lattanzi seemed like a great choice. The recurring theme in this place is "old school" - all of the servers were in suits...someone offered to check our coats...and the vibe was very "traditional NY Italian". None of this is good or bad, just an observation. Our server was extremely attentive and was available whenever needed - there was clearly no shortage of staff at this place. I suspect they are used to a theater crowd, so they are very speedy with their service. We all decided to go with the pasta: my wife went for the Ragu and really enjoyed it. I had the Carbonara - the sauce had a great flavor. My daughter decided to try the Bucatini All Amatriciana and that's where we ran into some issues. After a few bites she was quite confident that the dish served didn't match the description on the menu. The server insisted it was correct and was very accommodating and replaced with the Cacio e Pepe which she liked. The funniest part was that when tit became clear that there was some issue at our table, there were a lot of guys in suits swarming our table speaking Italian - it was quite entertaining. :-) It was kind of a pricey meal since all we had were three pastas and three glass of wine, but it's NYC...that kind of comes with the territory.

It is acquaint Italian restaurant in the heart of restaurant row. The experience in and of itself was worth the price of admission; however-- they put a lot of effort into being entertaining with their fake Italian accents, lol and not as much on efficient service. Many things arrived late or not at all. The homemade mozzarella was very delicious when it finally arrived after our meal was over. It was supposed to be an appetizer, but to be fair, they did compensate us with a free dessert flight that was incredible.

Dinner at Lattanzi Restaurant did not disappoint. Fine Italian dining on Restaurant Row West 46th street NYC. Had the homemade gnocchi, grilled Salmon with fennel and mashed potatoes. Dessert was strawberries with zabaglione custard Amazing meal. A+++

Dined here last week, never disappointed, always consistent on every level. I'm Italian, so I know good ingredients! The fresh mozzarella is a cloud of heaven, I ordered chicken topped with the most delicate artichokes, my friend had salmon so fresh all she kept saying "gotta taste this salmon!"...The service is top notch and friendly, and I noticed the maitre d so attentive to all the guests. The serene dining rooms allow for good conversation and comfort, thank you Lattanzi for always getting it right.

Excellent all around, from its classic menu to gracious service. Charming old-school ambiance. We went for Restaurant Week to try it, & would definitely return. Highly recommended!

Lovely ambiance at this cute west side italian restaurant. Service was attentive and friendly. They even checked out coats which was nice since we had so many layers on due to the cold temperatures. I ordered the lamb chops. They were large and tasty but I feel just a tad overpriced. They were good but not great. My friend had the piccata. The sauce was delicious! Overall a nice , tasty experience but just a tad too expensive given the overall quality.

I love italian food especially after a trip to Italy. I am often hesitant to visit an italian restaurant because unfortunately Italian American food is nothing like true Italian food. But I heard good things about Lattanzi so I figured I would give it a try on a recent visit to NYC. While in Rome I ate at a restaurant in the Jewish Quarter. One of the most unique things there is Carciofi alla Giudia. I saw this on the menu and made everyone order it. Well that was a huge mistake. What showed up was a plate with three small greasy artichoke hearts, price of $24. Seriously.. You can buy a can of artichoke hears for $2 and get 9 out of it. It wasn't fried... it wasn't the whole artichoke. It was absolutely nothing like its Rome namesake. I knew we were in trouble after that. I ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce which was totally underwhelming. The clams were over cooked... very chewy getting stuck in your teeth. Almost no sauce to dunk your bread it, which was probably a good thing since it was almost tasteless and super salty. The other people at my table were also not impressed with their meals. Stay away.

This was a recommended restaurant from our hotel, highly would turn around and find something else on restaurant row. The food was bland, pasta undercooked, and the seafood was over cooked. I won't be back.

Unbelievably friendly. Fantastic meal. Ate lunch here yesterday. Lunch is the sweet spot. They told me they recently started offering the prix fixe lunch menu and not many people know about it... yet. Not crowded. Attentive service. Fresh, delicious food (my pasta was house made). Generous pours. We couldn't have asked for a better NYC lunch.

Old school italian at its best. Waiters are very friendly and service was impeccable. I ordered the branzino and it was cooked perfectly. Outside was seared but the inside was flaky and moist. My kids each had a pasta dish. One had butter noodles and the other had the bolognese. Both pastas were cooked a perfect al dente and very flavorful. My wife had chicken piccata with extra capers and it was delicious. Save room for the tiramisu for dessert. Would highly recommend!

Food and service were great! It was also pleasant because you could carry a conversation and hear the people at your table.

Well let's first start with the fact that I normally would not give a negative review. I walked in and asked for a table for one and asked 8f i could be seated by rhe bar. I took a seat at a table for 2 by the bar. After 20.mins of not being asked as so much if I wanted to place an order for a drink or even given a glass of water at my table I decided to walk out and leave since no one even acknowledged my presence. As I was walking towards the door I decided to ask a member of the wait staff if I was sitting in the wrong spot for service since no one offered any to me as I sat near the crowded bar. Others that walked in after me were serviced as I sat there and watched. The maitre'd didn't apologize for this but offered me another table. I decided to stay and check out the food since I already figured out how the service. I asked for a suggestion on 2 wines and instantly the suggestion of the higher priced wine was offered. I went along with it Monte Degli Angeli Barolo. Which I must say I expected a better tasting red. While looking up this wine I couldn't believe the markup on it. I get it, its NYC and majority of restaurants in the vicinity are pricey but this is ridiculous and extremely overpriced on a 40 dollar bottle of wine. Now on to my meal I order the Fettuccine al Ragu' Homemade Fettuccine with beef ragout. Which came out literally before I could finish saying it to my waiter. It really wasn't anything to write home about. Basically Fettuccine and a very bland meat sauce. All in all I didn't have a very good experience here at Lattanzi. And highly unlikely that I win return more less recommend. But I would like to say that I would say try for yourself. Maybe the treatment I received will not be want you wil experience. Overpriced and underwhelming service. Buon Appetito !

Service was quick and our waiter was very friendly and funny. The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was very cozy. Prices were very reasonable. Dessert was good!

food was ok but the service was brutal. we had to ask for drinks, ask for menus, ask to order, ask for the check, etc. NOT ONE SINGLE TIME did anyone come to the table on their own to serve us or ever attempt to make eye contact with us outside of the guy who refills the water. hard pass

I rarely leave bad reviews but the excellent reviews for this place absolutely baffle me so I just want to leave a counterpoint. The food here was mediocre at best. My mother's pasta, a pappardelle special, had basically no taste except for butter. My pasta had a ton of cheese in it even though cheese wasn't listed on the menu as an ingredient; as it happens, I don't like cheese on pasta and had the menu been accurate, I would have ordered something different, so it would have been nice to be informed of what they were actually serving. The salad greens weren't properly dried so the salad had a lot of water in it, which diluted the dressing. The chocolate mousse was all right, but was served on a plate instead of a dish so it looked like a pile of dog food -- just really bad presentation, which is not something I expect at these prices. And the cappuccino literally tasted like water. The service was indifferent and we basically had to wave our arms vigorously in the air every time we wanted to get the server's attention. He then had to come back and ask what we had ordered because he forgot. Lame. I won't be returning to this place. Saved from one star because the decor was nice.

I was all alone for an early dinner before a show but that didn't stop me from having three wonderful courses. I started with a green salad with fresh Parmesan. Delicious dressing just the right amount. The server helped me choose the entree, filet with mushrooms. The steak was perfect. Some wonderful potato for a side as well. I finished the meal with their house made zabaglione and an espresso. They got me in and out right on time and were very kind to make me feel special as a one top. I will certainly return when I have others to join.

Went for dinner before a play - party of 4. Summary: Food was good, small portions. Service was just plain weird. As we sat down, we asked if they have a drink menu. Response: "No drink menu, but the bartender is excellent, use your imagination". LOL. Never heard that one before. We order Cosmos - tasted like pure lime juice. One in our party returns the drink. We can swear, we get the same exact drink back. No change at all, and came back right away. Send that one back. Next one is pure cranberry. End of the meal, owner or maître d comes over and says, "how is Miss Complicated doing" to our friend. What??? Luckily we all have a sense of humor (this will now be her nickname) but come on. You don't talk to customers like that. Zuppa di Pesce comes without pasta. Add pasta, another $19. 1/4 lb of pasta costs like what? $1.00? Come on now. Overall - average experience. Probably wouldn't go back.

We were there last night amidst all the Christmas chaos. The noise, traffic, crowds were out. Lattanzi's was packed but they crushed it. Our three meals were outstanding. I ordered pasta puttanesca which wasn't on the menu but no problem. They delivered and it was piping hot and the best I've ever had. Although crowded the staff were polite and courteous. Real authentic Italian desserts put it in the excellent category.

They didn't have bread for the table. They were out of multiple items on the menu. And what I got? I wasn't sure this was "Italian". Just wasn't great. Very cramped table. Wasn't a fan. Server was nice.

My friend had a wedding celebration dinner here. She told me the reason why she pick this restaurant because it is her husband favorite place. We were at a second floor. They have a balcony and dining room. Service and decoration are wonderful. Food is fantastic, start with......... - Antipasto Vario : Grilled Portobello, Baby Artichokes, Mozzarella, Asparagus. - Pasta Medley : Ravioli, Risotto and Spinach. - Choices of Entrees I pick Filet Mignon : Black Angus, Mushroom and brown demi - glaze. Dessert is also great. They are combination of homemade desserts. It was so nice at the dinner. My friend has about 30 guests and Lattanzi handle a catering very well. Good Job!

Food was ok, no customer service just a loud waiter that rushes you through your order.

I would give six stars if I could! Food was fantastic and so was the service. Wonderful atmosphere and all the servers had smiles on their face. What a wonderful dinner before Broadway! I ordered the Bronzini special and my daughter had chicken cacciatore, her girlfriend had clams and linguini. My best friend loved the broccolli rabe and she also had fish. My daughter in law to be had chicken franchese. Every dish was cooked to perfection. Even the bread was good! I will definitely be back!!!

Came before a show, had a reservation. Got us seated immediately, VERY attentive servers - food and drink and everything comes out almost immediately. Nice when you have somewhere to be, but also could have been slightly slower. Apps and mains came out too close together. Food was good. Ambiance is very old fashioned Italian. You get what you're expecting.

Service was very attentive and nice. The restaurant can get a little loud when crowded. We had the burrata, lasagne (on special), carbonara, and primavera. The lasagne was very good, creamy and good meat sauce, not over powering. The primavera basically tasted like broccoli. The carbonara was good but light on flavor. Overall it was a good experience tho not excellent.

We use to love this place. It was our go-to every year after broadway. Sadly, I don't think we will be back. First of all, the bread was horrible. Sliced bread and some sort of unleavened bread - not warm and no taste. Bad first impression. The meal was nothing special considering the price and dessert was average. We ordered zabaglione with strawberries and our local restaurant in NJ is 10x better. Not sure why the decline. Ambience is so lovely but not worth the price of the meal.

Perfect dinner spot in heart of restaurant row. We can't wait to go back! Staff so attentive. We hit the jackpot. We started with drinks at the bar and Andreas made a perfect martini for my husband. Great wine selection. He was so pleasant to chat with before dinner. Our server Zumas was the best! Kind, gave great recommendations. And the entire staff filled water glasses, made sure dishes were cleared. And they all were happy and smiling with each other. The beautiful brick walls made for such a nice Ambiance -- this is truely a classy, family owned, old school Italian restaurant. Many tables had locals, regulars. No rushing us out -- but still great timing on all the courses. Prices were as advertised and for NYC reasonable. That said -- we are so happy with the experience it was actually Priceless! We are so glad we found this gem!

First waiter ignored us after bringing our drinks. Had to waive another waiter to put in our order. Not once did anyone check back to see how our food was. Would have ordered another glass of wine but didn't have the opportunit. The Calamari entree was an appetizer portion for $45. Never again!

Excellent service! We were seated in the Garden Room at a round table for 6. The staff was the best and the food was delicious. I had a veal scallopini & my daughter had salmon. Husband had braciole and others had pasta dishes. Bottle of red wine & bravo!

The food here was excellent. We had a great time. The staff was awesome and friendly. One downside is I thought the cannoli was terrible for an Italian restaurant.

Been here many times and nothing has changed thank God. Food is outstanding, the service is professional and courteous. Some reviews I see criticism of how old the decor seems but it's classic Italian, warm, cozy and romantic. Your missing something special if you don't try this restaurant. You won't regret it.

Lattanzi was a wonderful Italian restaurant for date night, wine, great service and delicious Italian food. I will be returning again with my wife for another romantic night in the city. It is located fairly close to other businesses too. Also there's a outdoor parking lot right down the road! I will be driving into the city next time when I return to Lattanzi. In my opinion this is a wonderful restaurant to start or end your night out in the city.

Ordered clam pasta for lunch and i have to say when I got my food, I was pretty impressed by how it looks. It definitely has a good amount of clams and the pasta portion is good too. My problem with the food is that because it's garlic sauce, it didnt have enough salt or not seasoned enough. They also gave complimentary bread but I wish they provide at least a cup of olive oil or something to dip in because just by itself, is pretty bland.

Lattanzi was spectacular. Firstly, the staff were amazing at accommodating the varying arrival times of our 10-person group and our somewhat on-the-fly ordering. As a reunion of family members who hadn't been together for a meal like that in many years we really appreciated the care they took with us and helping us stay cool in the heat and leave on time for our Broadway show. Secondly the food was great-salads fresh, many options for pasta and fish, which were all well-prepared and lots of healthy vegetable side options too. Traditional Italian desserts never fail to satisfy as well. Definitely recommended, thank you all so much!

It was a good night at the Lattanzi. I like the vibe of the restaurant and much more I like dinner. Service was great even it was busy time. Will definitely try it again.

Wonderful classic New York Italian restaurant. A few minute walk from the theater district. I came here before a show and was delighted by the food and atmosphere. Emilio took superb care of us. You must try the roasted artichoke to start and the peach sorbet was wonderful too!

Yesterday we had an early dinner , but we were so disappointed. We had the fish orata and branzino .For the price of $40 the food was not fresh prepared plus the presentation was below standards. The service was indifferent and when we asked a question about the food the waiter didnt know the answer.

Reservation easily made with open table. Food: The beef carpaccio was fresh with a nice portion of arugula and shaved parm. The seafood linguini had its pros and cons. Two very fishy tasting clams, over cooked shrimp but the fish filets were flaky and the broth was light and flavorful. The tiramisu was flavorful and and just a bit soggier than I'd expect. The bread basket is a nice touch. Service: aloof but adequate. We were given the wine/drink menu after being seated with the menus but it was 15 minutes before our server came to take our drink order so we ordered our food at the same time. My entree came out before I was finished with my salad. We had to ask for our table candle to be lit(the rest of the restaurant tables with people had theirs lit) and the extra place setting to be removed to maximize space for three at a four top. The waiter was obviously adverse to bussing anything or filling water so empty glasses, plates sat at the table until busters made their way around the 3/4 full restaurant. I was there with someone on business and they didn't allow for us to split the check by guest but did allow to split by % of the total bill. Location: restaurant row which can be busy with theater goers but easy to find and walk to. Nice to hear live music in neighboring locations. Deco is traditional if not a bit dated. Front of the house and restrooms were clean and tidy. Pricing: I'd consider this reasonably priced for NYC. Overall an ok experience but I'll try somewhere else for my next NYC Italian experience.
