"This restaurant opposite the town hall in an Aveyron village is well known to food lovers, who come here to enjoy contemporary cuisine which places the onus on herbs and vegetables. The dishes are colourful and flavoursome. Lovely flower - filled terrace." - Michelin Inspector

It’s not on the mainstream tourist trail but holds more than many highly advertised sites:Located in a small community at the foot of a castle l’Auberge du Chateau offers a lot of charm and an insights into the quiet life in a rural area of the massive central. From here you can easily explore the various sites of the region while avoiding the crowd. The place is clean, quiet and offers all the necessary amenities. The service is discreet and effective. The restaurant presents itself in a unexpected and modern style. It is truly a positive surprise, allowing you to experience fine French’s cuisine, guided by a dedicated and capable chef and supported by a knowledgeable, capable and friendly service. A hidden gem!

What a perfect home base for exploring this fairy-tale like region of France; such beautiful villages and scenery all around and including Muret le Château. The room was very comfortable and simply decorated. New and very nice bathroom. Dinner was outstanding and elegant; so beautifully presented and delicious with multiple seasonal vegetables included which I appreciated. Very friendly hosts too. Would love to return one day.

Consistently excellent food prepared by an imaginative, award-winning chef. The tastes are memorable because of the detail that goes into preparation, such as a flourish of wasabi flowers. The setting is comfortable and the service is right on time. We can't wait to return.

Delicious Sunday lunch at this wonderful restaurant in a delightful village. it was our first visit, but definitely hope to go again soon. The presentation of the food was perfect and very imaginative, with interesting combination of flavours. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and not at all stuffy for such a quality place. Highly recommend.

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was clean and basic. The owners Yvette and Marc Cordy have a great restaurant in their hotel. The food is top notch and beautifully and artistically presented. The menu was exquisite and each course superb. You have a choice of about 4 different prices for the menu and it is determined by how many courses you wish to eat. The wine list is one of the most extensive lists I have ever seen. Some of the wines are local and the ones that we had were delightful. Marc is the chef and amazing one at that. From the amuse bouche to the decadent dessert you could not fault it. We had the three course meal each and it was 35Euros each excluding beverages. They even have a list to inform you where the produce comes from, the meat and even down to the eggs and bread. I have never come across a restaurant like this. I would definitely recommend it - it is the only one in the area. They serve evening meals at 8pm and you need to book. Would really recommend it - not for children - and would definitely return if in the area in the future.

This is the sort of hotel that is hard to find still in France - more is the pity. It is family run, with comfortable rooms but the focus on the food. The setting is great - the village of Muret le Chateau is in a gorgeous area and in addition to beautiful natural cascade in the village, and the chateau, there are also life size models through the village celebrating local craftsmen. However, back to the hotel. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is superb - just spectacular course after another. I only hope I can go back one day. The rooms are good value - the food may appear a little more expensive but in actual fact when you start to receive it, it is absolute value

We have stayed in the Auberge twice now and each visit is special. Estelle is a very friendly hostesses who is knowledgable about the area, especially the food and wine of the area. Her husband is the chef and is very imaginative with the local food he cooks. Especially noteworthy is the smoked fois gras. The decor of the dining rooms and bedrooms is modern and of the highest standards.

Yelp
This amazing restaurant still lingers in my mind after dining there a year ago. This is a long overdue review since I came here last year after watching the Tour de France. The food was so good and beautifully presented. Everything was fresh, unique and delicious and the owners clearly love what they are doing here. We went to a 3 Michelin star restaurant a few days before and I think this place is on par with them! Hope you get a chance to visit this wonderful place!
