L’Auberge Glenn Anna failed our expectations on most levels.|The welcome was not existent, not a smile or small talk, just instructions on how to get to our room , time for dinner / breakfast, general rules about parking and hotel being locked up at night.|The bedroom overlooked the main road, too many furniture , typically dark traditional Breton style which made the room feel even darker, decor needed revisiting.|The worst part was the loose skirting boards which obviously had been left , in the state we found them for a while… months … years. ..with no attempt to repair and make them good. Maintenance was not a priority.|Bedding was came last century, brown blanket, bottom sheet was stretchy synthetic material , not comfortable.|Bed itself was acceptable.|Cupboard/ hanging space was in the same state, broken shelves.|Bathroom also , at first appearance looked ok : seventies/ eighties style, black and red granite marble washbasin with golden taps, |Shower : same style, except that the shower attachment was not properly fixed to the wall and the heavy shower handle was loose..|We reported soon after arrival the state of the room.|Only during dinner, were we informed that we would be upgraded for the second night.|Apologies were nonexistent |We did not enjoyed our 3 courses dinner: fussy service, the smallest amuse bouche was served in a large tray or in a wooden box made to look like a book.|Long and winded service, dining room lacked character, atmosphere.|The upgrade was a pleasant suite, but again we did not appreciate the flocked duvet covet, not exactly very smooth and comfortable.
