We have been visiting L’Aubiniere for a few years as it’s a great hotel to stop en route to and from SW France. The hotel is in a quiet village about 10-15 mins from Amboise. It would be an excellent base for visiting the chateaux and Loire Valley region.||The reason we return is, not only the delightful welcome we receive from Mme Arrayet but also the ambience and quality of food in this wonderful restaurant.||M. and Mme Arrayet have created a beautiful hotel with a small spa and outdoor pool. The gardens are well kept with areas for sitting on the decked terrace overlooking the grounds. The hotel offered reflexology in the gardens which I treated myself to this year. ||The rooms are uniquely designed with comfort, superior or privilege rooms having all you could need with soft fluffy white towels and dressing gowns. The rooms also have air conditioning and a small fridge with complimentary drinks and other goodies. There are coffee making facilities within the room too. The rooms are excellent value for money and cater for different budgets.||The restaurant is absolutely amazing with one of the largest wine fridges we have seen. M. Jacques Arrayet will take the order personally and then he and his very small team prepare and cook the most incredible food, beautifully presented and with flavours that get the taste buds going! ||We have always opted for the 3 course menu, but when we add in the lovely soft bread with salted and seaweed butter, an amuse bouche, pre starter and then little macarons and cakes at the end of the meal we walk away feeling much heavier than when we walked in. It is and always has been a delight eating and staying here. We feel that everything offered is excellent value for money.||On the majority of our visits we have been the only English guests staying, however we have seen visitors from France, Belgium and the Netherlands - it is well frequented by the ‘local’ community who recognise a good restaurant when they find it.||We would highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. We have already booked for our return visits and look forward to returning again soon. ||Thank you to M Jacques and Mme Odile Arrayet who both work so hard to create and maintain this wonderful hotel.

We discovered L’Aubinière while searching online, and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be. This charming, family-owned hotel exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The owners are absolutely lovely— Odile and Jacques ( a wonderful chef) are gracious, kind, and deeply committed to making each guest feel at home. The accommodations are very comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and maintained with great care. But what truly sets L’Aubinière apart is its superb restaurant. Every meal was a delight—beautifully prepared, locally inspired, and full of flavor. Dining there felt like a special occasion each time. There’s something magical about this place, and that magic is created by the people who run it. Their passion, attention to detail, and personal touch make all the difference. L’Aubinière is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience we’ll never forget, and we can’t wait to return.

We spent two nights at L’Aubinière in Amboise and were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the cleanliness of the property, the elegance of the atmosphere, and above all, the exceptional service. The lady who runs the place is the true soul of the hotel. She manages everything—from welcoming guests at reception to personally overseeing the dinner service in their in-house restaurant—with warmth, grace, and a clear passion for her work. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and were absolutely amazed by the quality of the cuisine and the thoughtful, attentive service. Every detail reflected care and dedication. The hotel also offers a small spa that guests can access freely—a lovely and relaxing bonus. Breakfast was exceptional, and the rooms were both spotless and comfortable. In short, everything was flawless. Highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant. Choice of two menus with choices within them. Very creative, high quality and excellent service. Excellent wine list. Recommend the Vouvray Huet. Must book well in advance. I live in the village next door, and this restaurant is well known for its cuisibe in the Amboise valley. St Ouen is a beautiful village, with lovely walks around the valley down and around Pocé sur Cisse. Excellent location to see all the castles in the area

L’Aubiniere is a wonderful hotel/restaurant in a quiet hamlet in the countryside just north of Amboise. Rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Public spaces are all quite pleasant. The restaurant was absolutely first rate. Nice local wine list. We had some wonderful dishes. A really pleasant, relaxed evening, with aperitifs outside before dinner and digestifs in the poundage after. And a generous first rate breakfast with local products. A wonderful stay.

We have stayed here on two separate trips and we find the hotel and owners make a very relaxing place to be. They are very attentive to details that matter and the food is very good. We will book again - which says a lot. Lovely setting, great facilities and relaxing rooms. Thank you to a brilliant team.

A hard working and experienced team run this small hotel with a restaurant serving delicious, fine dining food. We ate on 3 nights out of our 6 night stay and would have eaten more nights if there had been a change of menu, but we like to try different restaurants so this suited us well. ||Our room was huge, very comfortable and had a stunning, very new bathroom. We also had a balcony and overlooked the garden to forest. Very peaceful. Everything was immaculately clean, and of very high quality.||We enjoyed relaxing by the heated pool after a day exploring and visited the spa where we had a steam bath, sauna and a lazy half hour in the hot tub. We slept very well afterwards! ||The surrounding area is full of delights and we enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a large room in the new extension, which overlooked the garden from its good-sized balcony. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were very spacious. The lounge area was very pleasant as well as the terrace. The pool was big (and warm) enough to enjoy lap swimming. Very good breakfast. Convenient for many of the Loire Chateau. Would definitely stay again.
