What a beautiful blending of art and nature. There’s so much to see out in the open as well as along the trails through the woods. We saw people walking the trails alone, adult friends on a scavenger hunt, families, and little kids with a school group. There’s something here for everyone at any age. The trails provide a great workout with some small hills to climb as they wind around and crisscross. The best part is that it’s free with no tickets required. Stay for an hour or make it a longer trip. Bring a lunch and eat at the park or check out one of the many restaurants close by. This is a great place to spend a day.

Google
What an experience! This park exceeded our expectations in every way. The trails, lawns, shrubbery, and gardens were all beautifully maintained and incredibly refreshing to stroll through. The sculptures were a delightful surprise, thoughtfully placed throughout the park to enhance the scenery without overwhelming it. One of the highlights was how pet-friendly the park is—our furry companion had just as much fun as we did! From wide, rolling vistas to cozy, tucked-away corners, there’s a wonderful mix of open space and quiet retreats. We spent several hours exploring and still felt like we only scratched the surface. Whether you enjoy walking, jogging, hiking, or simply picnicking with friends or family, this place truly has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Google
This place is huge?! I don't think we even got to all the little hidden trails this place has. And there are sculptures everywhere you look with a focus on nature, well-being and abstract art. The pieces are well put tigether and well taken care of. They make for great photos. The park is clean and spacious. The perfect little adventure for a warm summer day!

Google
This is THE coolest hidden gem in St. Louis, or maybe the entire Midwest. I hate art museums - this is one of my favorite places I've been to. You can leisurely stroll the paths for a whole day or multiple days and take your time looking at things. You can bound across the huge fields from one ginormous sculpture to another like a little kid. You can walk underneath a 12-foot tall deer, or climb through a giant rubber tire. You can find sculptures that almost don't look like sculptures hidden in the woods. You can look at miniature replicas of all the sculptures and read about what they mean - how a brier patch straight from Br'er Rabbit stories is an allusion to racism and gun violence in American schools today. When you're tired, you can sit in a huge rock that feels like it was sculpted just for your body as the cold, hard stone seems to soften as it absorbs your stress and worries. There's history, literature, culture, math, geometry, construction, poetry, anatomy, all in one fantastic outdoor (did I mention free?!) place that's family friendly and just casually hidden behind an office complex. Just go already; I don't want to write any more.

Google
The park does have some pretty neat sculptures, so the "quality" is there. But having visited several other sculpture parks this year, the ones I would rate as 5 stars just have way more "quantity" (more area to explore / sculptures to see than this one), so to me it's a solid 4.

Google
Fun stroll around @laumeierstl in Southwest STL. Beautiful sprawling property to walk! Art installations are given plenty of space to be enjoyed without anything else competing for your attention… well, maybe a squirrel 🐿️ or a beautiful tree 🌳 but even some trees are there as a purposeful placement of art😍

Google
I loved this. It has so many sculpters to look at. We took the wooded path only about a 1/2 - 1 mile through it. WOW I can't wait until we come back!!!

JRob Zetelumen

Google
We had a delightful time walking around the park looking at the art. A lot of it is very modern. We appreciated the signs giving the artist information and thought behind the creations. It was a fun and engaging way to spend time outdoors. Overall, the park was clean and well maintained, had plenty of bathrooms that were likewise clean. It also seemed safe.

Yelp
My kids and I always have a good time at this park, but we were all blown away by the light festival called "Laumeier After Dark". I still don't know how to properly pronounce the name of the park, but I do know we will be returning soon.

Yelp
When my husband and I came to St. Louis a couple of months ago, we wanted to find something artsy to do outside, and we came across this sculpture park. Sadly, we went on the HOTTEST day, so it honestly wasn't the smartest day to go, but we truly enjoyed it for what it was and sadly, we probably only saw half of the sculptures that were there. We also didn't realize at the time that the building had an indoor exhibit, so we didn't see that, but it didn't look open when we went, anyway. Around the park, there are plenty of large sculptures spread out that are worth seeing. My favorite was the large blue eyeball that looked realistic with all of the veins and everything. There is also a large tire and a realistic deer, too. We also noticed that the park was well-kept with mowed grass and clean trails. I highly recommend coming here if you have never seen it. I would visit again to see everything we missed, hopefully on a cooler day!
google avatar

Misty S.

Yelp
No entrance fee and free parking! Great place to walk and enjoy an outdoor gallery. There is a giant blue eyeball sculpture, similar to The Eye in Dallas, TX. Many large sculptures are spread out throughout the park and there are paved paths you can walk on. Bathrooms are available in a few locations. They provide a park map with points of interest. There is a Finally Friday series every Friday, May 31 - August 30 / 4-8 pm where they have food and beverage vendors. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

Yelp
I hadn't visited the sculpture ark in years. My daughter and I decided to include it in our mother/daughter day. The weather was BEAUTIFUL and gave the PERFECT backdrop to our experience. You NEED to see the art up close and personal.
google avatar

Yelp
Laumeier sculpture park has something fun for everyone! I knew about the sculptures from previous visits, but I didn't realize that they had nature trails and beautiful wooded areas in addition to the main sculpture area. The wooded area was the perfect place for some outdoor exploration with toddlers today!
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
It's sort of a hidden gem per our local friend. You get a nice hike through the woods that are shaded and also get to enjoy interesting artwork throughout. Once you're done with the wooded area, there's also the grassy area with more sculptures and artwork. The grass looked like it would be perfect for a picnic. And wait. There's more! There's also an indoor exhibit. We didn't get to check this out, but I was told it's a nice place to chill and perhaps escape the weather. Parking was aplenty. And the best part is that all of this was free.

Yelp
You've gotta see the Laumeier Sculpture Park if you're in St. Louis. I'm not sure there is anything else like in in the US - it's just that memorable. I last visited the sculpture park when I was around 8 years old in the early 1990s. I'm not sure how many sculptures have been added since that time - the red oil tanks I definitely remember. A great way to get your steps and some exercise in for the day. Walk the entire park and take in the amazing sculptures. We visited early on a Friday morning. It was already disgustingly hot, so we only stayed an hour. So many unique things to see. The grounds are well-maintained. You'll find picnic tables and restrooms throughout. A great place to take photos. There's a visitor's center, but it didn't appear to be open when we visited. Kind of a bummer considering the heat. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I came here last week with my dog to explore a new park in the STL area. When I came here, the weather was cool and gloomy, which was decent for going for a long walk. Since I came the day after a rainy day, I stayed on paved pathways to avoid muddy trails. I enjoyed my walk in the park with small, medium, and large sculptures to admire and read the story behind them. I had a great time here with all the different sculptures to see. I highly recommend seeing this park while in the STL area.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
We enjoyed this place. Sizable area with three different parking areas. To see the whole thing (about 70 sculptures) would take a couple of miles and a walk through the woods. Having said that, we took in about 50 of them in just under 2 hours - doing the main section just past the visitor center and continuing off to the SW. There's another section east of the visitor center and going through the woods. Well spread out; so if there are a lot of people, not a big deal. Make sure you get a map. Most of the art is abstract and you'll want to read the info on each sculpture.

Yelp
I volunteered here for roughly six weeks during the summer, mainly helping out with the park's annual art camp program for kids. As a longtime fan of Laumeier, I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The instructors are attentive and go beyond the traditional "camp counselor" template since many of them work in teaching or art during the year. Instructors also receive training on behaviors, conflict mediation, language and lesson planning. Younger age groups are stationed in outdoor shelters, while the more specialized "Art Squad" for ages 10-15 spends more time indoors. Camp at Laumeier would be a great option for kids and teens who have a passion for art and nature. The park itself is wonderful! Expansive and well-maintained green spaces that are an oasis of calm in car-centric Sunset Hills. Some of the sculptures are more modernist and angular, while many others (like Dre Wapenaar's Treetent and Niki de Saint Phalle's Ricardo Cat) invite imaginative play through their quirk and charm. A few sculptures lie beyond the reach of the paved, accessible trail that wends its way through the park, however. Pavilions, picnic benches, and other lunch spots abound, as do wooded hiking trails. There are also multiple public bathrooms. Laumeier also has a Finally Friday program during the summer with weekly food trucks and booths. This park is one of St. Louis's hidden gems and is a fantastic destination for hiking, picnicking, and learning about art history.

Yelp
Came to the 36th annual Laumeier Art Fair at the sculpture park. It's every Mother's Day weekend and is a "Don't Miss" event! This is our first time and it was a pleasure. Excellent artists, with many from nearby artists, were displaying and selling their goods. The weekend features many live musicians with several performing their own music rather than cover bands (yay to local music artists!). Be sure and come hungry and thirsty. Lots of local beer and food vendors. This year, there was HiPointe, Chicken Out, Steve's Dogs, Sugar Fire, Grace Meats, pretzel boys, local coffee roaster, local shaved ice, local lemonade vendor, local popsicles, etc. I am sure you get the idea. Also, don't forget your $$$ to buy your mother a nice piece of art!

Yelp
This park is a good park to go to once in a while. There are some new sculptures that changes from time to time and some sculptures that has remained here years such as the eyeball. Plenty of parking. There are several parking lots. A good place to walk. There is also a hiking path that I will definitely try to go on my next visit. I went here tonight and it was pretty quiet and relaxing. At the time I visited this park, there were not many people here.

Yelp
What a lovely place to explore! This park is packed with trails, sculptures, flora & an assortment of buildings sprinkled throughout. We spent a good 2hrs roaming about on a whim. I'm not sure that we even scratched the surface. To top it all off, it's free! I can hardly wait to see it in bloom come spring.
google avatar

Yelp
What's not to love about this park? The sculptures are fantastic, there are pleasant trails for hiking, picnic tables perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors, and there are always special events happening in the summertime. Plus, the park is consistently clean and well cared for. What more can I add?
google avatar

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
The trail was really nice. Most of the trail was in the shade. The main paved trail was not in the shade. Sculptures themselves were interesting and neat.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best-kept secrets about St. Louis. In my opinion, it ranks among the best sculpture parks in the nation. We used to visit here when we lived in the area over 20 years ago. Though displays at parks like this can't change very much in a short period of time, the setting is beautiful and you feel like you're far removed from the urban jungle, when in fact it's less than 20 minutes away from Forest Park. The sculptures are distributed over a large area, with rolling hills and short wooded paths that reveal new discoveries around every corner. The guide map is extremely helpful, with small pictures of the different installations so you can quickly orient yourself - it is easy to get a little lost if you're wandering randomly through the grounds, as we like to do. The staff here is very friendly and eager to answer your questions. I should also mention that admission is free, just like many of the other museums in the St. Louis area. The residents of this area are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful cultural attraction here.

Yelp
One of STL's finest hidden gems right here! Plenty of room to roam around on the trails here and admire all the amazing art sculptures. You'll want to come back because there is so much to see here! They also hold special events sometimes like night glows, etc. Free parking here as well on normal days love this place!
google avatar

Yelp
We've come a few times and this place is SO cool. You can go somewhere different in the park every week and still see new things each time, it's insane. It's HUGE and they have so many cool, unique sculptures. A lot of them are interactive, and my nephews love them. Tons of fun for the whole family, the perfect spot for a picnic lunch and play!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a unique experience! The park is home to over 60 large outdoor sculptures, many made with recycled or found items. The sculptures are placed along a large paved loop, and also along 3 short hiking trails. Numerous picnic tables are available and benches are plentiful throughout the park. The main loop and restroom access is paved and wheelchair accessible, as is a large picnic pavilion. Many of the sculpture placards include braille along side the printed verbiage. Leashed dogs are permitted and doggy stations provide plastic bags for disposal of waste. The venue holds art classes, art camp, educational programs and more for the local community. Walking at a comfortable pace, reading placards, and stopping for short rest breaks (yeah, old bones here!) we were able to see the sculptures in approximately 2.5 hours. The park is open from 8 AM to 30 minutes after sunset. Parking is plentiful in multiple lots located at several entrances to the park. There is no entry fee! I am so glad that we decided to include this park on our itinerary for our short St. Louis vacation!

Yelp
Even though this sculpture park is all located outdoors this was a great experience. What an amazing way to have your art displayed in mini shapes sizes and forms. Do uniqueness that was displayed here was just jaw dropping. Pieces that I could not even imagine making my self Even the simplest form of art was a great way of expression. The acreage of this location is definitely a great way to get your daily steps in for the day. There is also a building that displays more information about the location and some of the art pieces as well I think there was a small admission fee but I did not that particular section of the park. The location also has quite a few benches that you can sit and enjoy the view as you take a break. Definitely a breathtaking area to maybe have a picnic if the location allows it. A first date here will be cool as well great conversation pieces! Great location.

Yelp
Super fun free attraction when visiting St. Louis! The sculptures are diverse and each is accompanied by an explanatory sign. Beautiful property to walk around with a nice path. Bathrooms were well kept and nicer than I expected. The indoor visitor center was closed when we visited and they were out of brochure maps, which was disappointing, but there is a map online you can reference as well. Lots of fun photo ops. I'd recommend this park for travelers of all ages! I would caution you to beware of dogs when here... seems to be a popular area to walk dogs (for obvious reasons), but some of the larger more aggressive ones were alarming. Could have just been the day we visited of course.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for something different to do on a nice day while visiting St Louis for our son's lacrosse tournament. This was a nice park with unique exhibits spread throughout. You could take a leisurely stroll or make a day/picnic of it. I definitely suggest checking this place out, especially if you enjoy unique experiences that you can't get in every city and/or you're looking for something outdoors that everyone can enjoy.

Yelp
I love this place, i go here anytime i get the chance to! super peaceful and really a great place to walk.

Yelp
I went to Laumeier Sculpture Park today for what I consider one of the best art fairs in St. Louis. It's something I look forward to every year. There are lots of parking options when you get there that are just a short walk up the street to the entrance. The park grounds are expansive so even during large scale events it isn't crowded. This weekend they hosted both local artists and those who traveled in from out of state. I was able to get a couple of art pieces that I will really enjoy. The kids area was large and gave children lots of options to explore different art mediums. The food and drink offerings were all local as well. Can't wait for my next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Free sculpture park? Yes please! This place is actually extremely fun to walk around, I'm a little surprised. Came on a weekend morning/lunch and although there wasn't that much people in the morning, it was definitely getting more crowded during lunch time. Currently, the indoor exhibits aren't open because of COVID but there's plenty to see outside. Favorite Things: - Eye - What's not to like about the giant eye with a lot of veins? - Mark Mennin - May or may not be the most comfortable chair I have sat in, in a public setting. It looks extremely unassuming but the concept is very cool. - Abstract Variation No. 5 - Very walkable exhibit and every point of view is extremely different and unique. Interesting way of thinking about art. - Colorful Bleachers - Not sure if this is a work of art but it is so cute and fun, definitely a nice photo opportunity area. - Lie down in the grass/have a picnic. The grass is really soft and with the sun shining, it makes a perfect place for a relaxing, lazy afternoon. Definitely recommend coming here if ever in the area.
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
Interesting and sort of weird park. Well, the sculptures are certainly unique. Check out the huge eyeball sculpture right in the middle of the park! Best thing this place is absolutely free. It depends solely on memberships and donations, and it's maintained by volunteers. The park host several events, classes, and workshops. Definitely come here for a stroll, have a picnic, admire art or what ever you wish. It's fun!
google avatar

Craighton M.

Yelp
This is one of the lesser known attractions of the greater St. Louis area but well worth the time to tour. It contains over 60 truly unique sculptures that don't totally 'trip your trigger' initially until you read the background information for each work. The the amazement and appreciation sinks in. The park is spacious and incredibly well maintained with 3 hiking trails to additional exhibits. It is open 8Am until sunset daily. The park also has activities that include educational art programs, musicals, and parents night out functions. It is pet friendly with handicap accessibility for all the areas of the park. We were there for nearly 3 hours. It was a short 17 mile trip from the Tower Grove district of St. Louis.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Nice day to walk in this park! It is a popular park where lots of people bring their dogs. Lots of art work / sculptures - you can have a relaxing walk.
google avatar

Suzane C.

Yelp
Lovely park with walking trails by outdoor sculptures. Good place to go for a walk and consider the art.
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
This park is spacious and definitely gives the kids time to get out their energy! All the other people that were there were nice and we all kept our distance. There's a little hiking trail that we only did half of because the kids were unsure where it went to. But overall the park is clean spacious and well paved for those who may find it difficult on grassy areas. Will definitely come in the morning as there's not a lot of sun shade from the trees but either way amazing delightful and we definitely go back.

Deborah B.

Yelp
Visited while crossing country on a road trip - really cool place and sculptures!! Def worth a visit!
google avatar

Lindsay B.

Yelp
This is an amazing outdoor sculpture park with expansive walking trails and large open fields full of large scale, outdoor, interactive art. You are not allowed to climb on the art but you can take pictures of it and walk around it. It's a beautiful and magical place. There is also an indoor gallery with rotating exhibits and bathroom facilities.
google avatar

Martin M.

Yelp
Real cute. I do prefer a sculpture garden over a park where they're all sprinkled around, but I appreciate this. It feels like a way to liven up a neighborhood and bring more attention and care to a lovely park. The walking trails were nice and you get a good amount of steps in when taking a look at all of the sculptures. If I lived here this would be one my fav parks to go for a nice stroll
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
The wife and I spent a couple of hours walking around this garden and looking at the sculptures. Most were impressive. For example, the deer and the eyeball. I think I was able to see everything in a couple of hours, but I'm not certain. I found the map a little hard to read.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
A beautiful day to spend an afternoon. Walk the park and take in all the sights. Always one of kids' favorite places to go and hand out.
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
Very cool place, took some nice pictures for my Instagram. Lots of descriptions for the sculptures.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Incredibly impressive park, with even more sculptures in this decade, nice setting, near the 1-44 & I-270 interchange. Unless you ABSOLUTELY hate art and/or parks, you'll love it.
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
A nice park to walk around. There are also a couple of light hiking trails. The main attractions are the crazy sculptures.
google avatar

Camly T.

Yelp
This place is awesome! It is close to St. Louis and has so much room to explore. There is an art hike that takes you into the woods. If you don't follow the map, it seems like you just stumble upon art installations/sculptures. Many seemed to just be a part of the land and are fun to traverse and explore. I love the very large sculptures on the lawn. The scale of some of them really make them joyful and fun to look at. It is a perfect place to hangout, read a book, have a picnic, and just enjoy a beautiful day outdoors. I was only here for a short time so didn't get to see everything, but I want to come back and see all that it has to offer!!
google avatar

Yelp
Laumeier Sculpture Park is an StL delight. I was there this past Friday and the place was alive with people, almost all were family units or couples and the place is big enough that we could all stay apart, but enjoy this spectacularly wonderful park that has hiking trails, plenty of wide-ranging art installations, and TREES, beautiful TREES! I was there masked, and though most others were not, I felt safe from Covid19. It helped that it was an absolutely perfect day weather-wise, but there is really no better place to enjoy the outdoors in a variety of different ways. Although Forest Park is an equally splendid choice for getting out, unless you can walk there, it's a little onerous getting into F.Park on a beautiful day... and then remembering where you're parked! Laumeier has great parking access.
google avatar

Phuong N.

Yelp
A nice place for a stroll, picnic or walking at the trail. Plenty of seatings in the shades. Plenty of parkings and nice big clean restroom.
google avatar

Ari W.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to the Laumeier Sculpture Park. I was in town for work and found I had some extra time on my last day before heading home. Decided I would stop by here and have a look, and I am so glad I did! The grounds are lovely. The particular day I was there was not all that great - it was cloudy and the air was thick like it wanted to rain, but never actually did. This was no mind, though, as the park itself shines on it's own whether a nice day or not. There are several walking paths throughout that lead you through the grounds. I recommend grabbing a map as the park is much larger than I had anticipated. A map will ensure you don't miss anything. It was easy to find and parking was plentiful. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Deanna S.

Yelp
My little place of peace. I love taking a blanket and just sitting and reading. The park is never crowded but gets a good flow of people. The sculptures are pretty spread out so you're not on top of other people and can have space. There is parking on both lots and I've never had to struggle to find a space. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
google avatar

Holly C.

Yelp
Well maintained park with many modern sculptures. Plenty of places to take break and sit. Also, nice paths in the wooded area.
google avatar

Shell B.

Yelp
Pretty interesting sculptures and some nice trails. Cool place to hang out at and roam around looking at the art.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
One of a kind, beautiful, peaceful, easy to get to. The kind of park with beautiful sculptures young kids love all the way to an older couple holding hands. it's amazing for everyone.
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
Laumeier is a great little sculpture park! We were visiting St. Louis this past weekend, and we stopped in at Laumeier on our way into town. It was a chilly day, but exploring Laumeier was a great way to stretch our legs while taking in some art. We made a loop around the sculpture garden and then we made our way into the small building that houses their temporary exhibitions. When we visited, they were exhibiting a local neon artist's work. It was free to tour, and it had some interesting pieces! It was a great little stop to take in some art and walk through a nice park!
google avatar

Rich B.

Yelp
It's just a great place to go and have a picnic, walk through the sculptures or just sit and enjoy being outside. The Mother's Day Art Fair is a must along with the other events they have through the year. If you've not gone be sure and put it on your list to check out.
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place for a walk or picnic. You will see one of a kind outdoor art on a beautiful plot of land in the middle of South County. Don't forget to get a photo with the giant eyeball!! So cool. They are always adding new art. Highly recommend and free.
