Perfect place to watch the 4th of July fireworks above Lahaina.
Rather than be packed in watching fireworks in downtown Lahaina, we drove a couple miles east and stopped at this park. The park had been filled all day with family picnics, enjoying the view, the swimming, the surfing, and their grilling. As sunset approached some headed home, leaving a few parking places for late comers. We pulled out a couple beach chairs and some snacks, walk all of 30 yards, then watched first the surfers, then the sunset, then the kids trying to blow each other up with fireworks, and finally the fireworks show over the ocean in Lahaina.
To top it off, we got a head start driving home as the crowds dissipated in Lahaina. Made it back to Kihei for an 8:45 dinner.
I'd recommend this place for a stop regardless of time of year or time of day. Big trees for shade, lots of picnic tables, bathrooms, showers, and more of a taste of Maui than you get on most beaches.
