I attended the saturday holiday brunch. This place has such a elegant ambiance. I truly enjoyed the musicians who were playing current music. It was such a jazz and hip vibe. I enjoyed the various brunch stations. There was breakfast to omelet stations and crepe stations, there was only one carving station for prime rib. There was a pizza area and cheeses crackers some bites for the kids like macaroni and cheese and corn dogs. The seafood area was okay. There was cocktail shrimp, salmon and muscles. Most of the seafood was on cold plates. Whereas I prefer to have a mix of hot seafood entrees. The food was delicious and to end it with a bit of ice cream is always a must. I recommend bringing people who you know. Will want to enjoy a buffet style brunch.

Pictures (mine or online) Do this place no justice. This was not my intended dinner destination for the night but the original plans fell through. This was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere, service, and food were top tier! My waiter (although he sung everything he said unintentionally lol) was so helpful and knowledgeable! This was just a really great experience overall and it seemed as if I had flown and vistited an authentic European bakery and restaurant for a night! I orders the steak frites (medium rare) and it was cooked to perfection and the flavor was top tier. It was accompanied by some raspberry (I believe) butter and that was a taste combination I would never imagine could pair so well! 👌🏾I also ordered a side of asparagus and it was cooked well also, but I did not prefer the cheese sauce poured on top and did not recall reading that in the description, or else I would have likely declined. Additionally, I ordered my steak with smashed fingerling potatoes (instead of the default of fries) they were perfect as well especially the sauce! For a drink I had a blackberry margarita it was perfectly made, well balanced and paired well👌🏾🍹& neither did dessert disappoint! I ordered the chocolate lava cake and a side of pistachio ice cream and they surprisingly paired so well. The cake was a little on the dry side but the liquid/warm chocolate center helped with the texture. I will definitely be back for the lamb chops & the experience!

I love this restaurant. Every time I come I get the best service. The food is amazing. I always get the steak frites which I scarfed down before getting a picture. This restaurant is beautiful and the menu offers a nice variety. You can park in guests parking and ask for validation on your way out. The noise level is great. Not silent but no need to yell to converse. The seating is open yet feels private.

The Laurel Brasserie at The Grand America is one of our absolute favorites! Whether it’s brunch, dinner, or a fun little staycation, the experience is always incredible. The food is consistently delicious, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere feels both elegant and inviting. We especially love visiting during the holidays when the trees and décor make everything feel magical but honestly, it’s beautiful any time of year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a truly special experience!

Went to Laurel Brasserie & Bar for Sunday brunch for my birthday and it was top tier! The surprise buffet (not even listed online) had endless fresh, delicious options. Kid-approved too my daughter and nieces couldn’t get enough of the pizza, mac & cheese, fried chicken, and the gelato bar. Elegant atmosphere, amazing service, and food worth every bite. We’ll be back!

We booked the Olive Room for a wedding dinner and had a great experience! From the coordination with Samantha, to the food and service the night of, everything was wonderful. The only hiccup was the room not being set up the way we planned but we were able to pivot just fine. But let's talk about the food for a second - AMAZING! Our guests loved family style because they got to try a variety of dishes and everything was so delicious. We will definitely be back to try out brunch and future seasonal menus!

This was a beautiful experience for my bridal shower, Mason and Patty were amazing staff and did the upmost to make my day special! I also want to thank Samatha for organizing with me before via phone and email. I couldn’t have asked for a better day! Thank you!

Absolutely exceeded my expectations! The vibe is classy yet comfortable, and the service is warm and welcoming. The star of the night was definitely the pizza — incredibly flavorful, perfectly crisp, and made with real care. If you’re looking for a place that truly delivers on taste and experience, this is it!

This may be my new favorite restaurant! Fantastic Menu, incredible interior / decor set in an even more incredible hotel, good cocktails and wine choices, and great food. And the prices are oddly low for a hotel restaurant - I would expect everything to be $10-15 higher in a high end hotel like this. Is it a Salt Lake City thing? Our favorites over the 2 nights we came to eat (from a different hotel) were the pasta dishes. But everything was great. apps, amins, and dessert. Service was just OK, we had a new server the first night. Tip - plan your timing to go to the hotel lobby bar before or after for incredible music on nights they offer it. ANd explore the common areas of the hotel with their displays of museum level antiques and fun marble machine at the toy store.

We weren't crazy about the overly bright 1890s ice cream parlor atmosphere, but that's just one person's opinion and it was the only thing we didn't love. Started with the pigs in a blanket (based on the positive Yelp reviews). Pretty good but probably wouldn't order a second time. The French Onion soup was delicious and may have been the best we have ever had. The Salmon with mushy green pea risotto was fantastic! Highly recommend both. Service was excellent by Attie - friendly, helpful, attentive, and funny.

The food at Laurel Brasserie is excellent -- no complaints there. We had the Scottish salmon, the chicken, a ribeye, and a burger, and every dish was prepared beautifully. High-quality ingredients, well-seasoned, and executed with real skill in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the food. Our server was hard to track down, which would have been forgivable on a busy night, but the bigger issue was how unknowledgeable and disengaged she seemed. When we asked about a seafood dish, she admitted she doesn't like seafood and couldn't say how it's prepared or if she could recommend it -- not exactly reassuring. The pacing was off as well: food delivery felt awkward, and the standard "how's everything tasting?" check-in came after our plates had already been cleared. It was almost comically mistimed. Overall, it was an embarrassing service experience attached to what could otherwise be a great meal. If Laurel Brasserie can get the front-of-house service aligned with the kitchen's quality, it would be a truly top-tier spot.

Yummy and fancy place (but not too fancy, which is nice). Steak, brussel sprouts, mocktail, and gnocchi was very tasty. Service was quick and friendly. It's a bit of a pricy place, came out $100+ for two people, no appetizers or desserts. Bit of a wait but to expected for a saturday night. Very beautiful hotel. Good to stop by if you're visiting.

We've eaten at Laurel for both breakfast and dinner. I think they have one of the best breakfasts around. I absolutely love their waffles. They are very tasty. One day I'll have to try their croissant French toast. This place is a delicious treat as well as a visual one. Laurel Brasserie is perfect for celebrating a fancy event. The decor harkens back to the 1930s and 40s. We ordered pigs in a blanket, lentil and kale soup, steak and frites and the pesto gnocchi. All were excellent. The meal was leisurely while the service was attentive. The Valrhona chocolate cake we ordered to finish our meal was the perfect ending. Be sure to get your parking validated on the way out. While it wasn't our original plan to dine at Laurel for our girl's night out, I'm glad we ended up here. The outdoor patio with live music and immaculate weather made it the perfect atmosphere for the evening. We had a party of 5 without a reservation and they accommodated for us right away. I'm not sure if the waitstaff was newer, but our service was a bit slow and they seemed a little flustered. Everyone was very friendly though. Now, for the food. I had high expectations based off the ambiance and the menu, and I would say that taste-wise, everything was good but not mindblowing. My favorite dish was actually the creamed spinach. Our cocktails were great and if you're looking for a beautiful outdoor dining experience, Laurel is the spot for it.

I was on a business trip and stayed at the lovely Grand America Hotel. Came here for dinner the first night. I waited about 15 minutes at the table before I was greeted and brought water. After the water, bread was brought over and it was warm and delicious! Since I wasn't super hungry, I ordered Brussels Sprouts and meatballs. The sprouts were tasty but a bit too sweet, it was missing the savory component. The meatballs were cold and I probably could have sent them back but it took over 30 minutes for the food and I didn't see my server for quite some time after. For it being a quiet"er" Tuesday night, I would have expected to be in and out but my dining experience from start to finish was over 2 hours. I'd try it again. I think I'd choose the pizza next time as they all looked delicious as they made the way to surrounding tables. Cute place though!

I've been here a couple of times. I gave it a four because I went to dinner and I felt like the food didn't have a ton of flavor. It was cooked really well, but just lacked some flavor. However, I've been there for breakfast and brunch and those meals have been excellent.

This is the loveliest patio for dining on the most perfect Salt Lake Summer nights. Gorgeous manicured gardens block street views and noise. Excellent menu and well prepare food and drinks. Service was perfectly attentive but not distracting from our group conversation.

Pleasant hostess and seating. Drink orders were mixed up and one was missing. The starters arrived quickly but the tuna crudo starter was terrible, inedible, and the steak tartare had crazy amount of mustard seeds in it. Not good at all Mussels were good but an unusual small portion. Pizza came long before all other food and with all utensils cleared of the table. It lacked taste of truffle (which was why it was ordered), but it was a well-baked pizza. The French onion soup and steak fries were good. The gnocchi was ordered with a protein of choice and delivered with a terrible chewy chicken. We have now been to this restaurant three times and got bad food last two times. We will not be back.

Really cute restaurant in the Grand. The service was very timely and friendly and the restaurant bright and airy. The peach burrata was a great way to start our lunch. It hit the spot I loved my maple glazed salmon with butternut squash risotto. The risotto could have used a bit more seasoning in my opinion, but it was a great meal. Loved the addition of the kumquats. Those aren't served often enough. It's dry January so I ordered a mocktail. A n/a mojito. I loved it. Very refreshing and packed with mint. I didn't miss the alcohol Would definitely return again if staying in the Little America or the Grand

Won't return: food isn't fresh. It's convenient, directly opposite our hotel, Little America, and sort of reminds me of the Palm Court @ Plaza in NYC. It was empty at 9:45am on a Monday (May 9th). Bright, high ceiling, fresh single tulips, linen napkins, elegant coffee cups. Two styles of interesting lighting features are interesting. The bagel and lox looks good but the cream chees isn't fresh. The outdoor section is full of flowers.

For the price, it was a really good experience. We were seated quickly, our servers were attentive and knowledgeable. We had two mocktails to begin and the blackberry shrub was really good. I had the ribeye with the bordelaise and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was ok, but the ribeye, bordelaise and potatoes were all really good. We had dessert because it was our anniversary and the bread pudding was fantastic. The interior was beautiful and well decorated and was quiet. I would definitely come here again for a special occasion.

It was a fun atmosphere and the service was great. The food, however, wasn't as tasty as I was expecting -- it came out like it had been sitting out for a bit. The French fries and the meatball starter were both delicious, though. I also liked that they serve rolls with house-made butter -- a nice touch!

We went twice! One time for dessert and the other for dinner. Fresh and tasty. Steaks were properly cooked and delicious. Sides included fresh ingredients and served hot. Desserts were yummy. The front area, ice cream and soda shoppe along with the bar and brasserie vibe were all inviting!

This place is AMAZING! This is a regular go to for our family when we need an easy, good spot. My son had the steak frites tonight - it was, ans always is, amazing. The chicken was amazing too! The service was spectacular and the staff was so kind. The jazz music makes for a calm space. Amazing! 11 stars

Great drinks. The French onion soup was amazing. We are in the bar & the table was a little small BUT the nice waitress cleaned off a table that someone had just left at and allowed us to move to have a little more space. Next time we will make reservations. Very clean.

Ordered a matcha latte to go and they were out of matcha so I had to settle on a cappuccino, which was still delicious.

Laurel deserves all the stars and laurels. Charming decor, attentive service, and absolutely delicious meals. We came in during dinner and had the mushroom calamari, steak frites, paccheri, and strawberry shortcake. The calamari was scrumptius and the deconstructed shortcake was the perfect way to end the meal. The portions here are moderately sized which I actually prefer so I have room for dessert (rare for me). For a refined ambiance in an elevated setting, I absolutely recommend coming here. It's always situated in the 5 star Grand America Hotel which is gorgeous.

Went here for our last lunch at Salt Lake City. We were pleasantly surprised! The hostess upfront was very friendly and welcoming. We got the pigs in a blanket and the garlic shrimp as our appetizers--both were absolutely delicious. One of the best pigs in a blanket I've had in a while! For my entree, I had the steak frites which was cooked well, packed with flavor, and tender. The fries were also quite good--crispy and well seasoned. The dining areas were also quite cute. We were able to get a nice and private area facing the window with a nice view. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. My only critique is the coffee was a little bland and a little stale. If you're staying at the Grand America hotel, definitely consider this restaurant as one of your dining options. You won't be disappointed!

Came here around 3pm and they unfortunately in between lunch and dinner time so there were very limited bar food options to choose from. Our waiter was a bit awkward. Not only our waiter there was honestly an overall vibe that I didn't appreciate as an African American. Nothing overt but you felt it. After being all over SLC Utah this is the one place I felt that vibe. Ordered mushroom " calamari" which was pretty good. My bestie ordered the meatballs which she said was amazing. And my other friend order tomato soup which she advised was really good. They have a cute upbeat fresh ambiance which is the reason we choose to eat here. The drinks were good. Nothing over the top. All in all I wouldn't go back.

We spent some time at the bar having Prosecco and specialty drinks! Beautiful hotel bar with fun bartenders.

I did Sunday brunch here for my birthday. This place is fancy AF and pricey but worth it for a splurge! They have all you can eat prime rib, crepe bar, seafood, pizza, pastries, salads, a kid friendly station and more. The service was great--my waiter made me a special cold coffee drink as requested. The jazz band provides such an awesome vibe. They also sang happy birthday to me and it was so special

soooo cute and romantic. the salmon is really nice and i thought the risotto was okay but im also not a big squash fan.

Great food, service, and ambiance. We made a reservation so we got sitted really quickly. We went to Sunday Brunch and had a really good experince. They have a variety of type of food from breakfast, seafood, and Italian food. They had many desserts and pastries. There a people that are ready to make crepes and omelets in front of you. Free garage parking. The only downside was that live musics was really loud so I couldn't really hear people talking. It could be because we were sitting right next to them. Other than that it was fantastic!

We reserved a banquet room for a luncheon for my daughter's college graduation party. We worked with Samantha to set up the event. She was very professional and extremely responsive to all our needs. There were 23 people total, which included 5 young children. We had our own dedicated servers and the customer service was excellent! Mason and Nick were very polite, friendly, and professional. The room was very stylish and elegant and it was a great atmosphere to celebrate a special occasion. We were provided with a wide list of menu items and selected appetizers and entrees in advance to be served family style to our guests. In addition, there was a kids menu for 12 and under. Most of the food was delicious. I highly recommend the pigs in a blanket appetizer and the steak frites for the entree (the fries with the steak were excellent!). The Caesar salad was also really good. We also had an assortment of desserts and most people loved the brownies. Portions were very generous. We did have a couple of issues with overdone fries with the kids meals and overcooked and dense gnocchi, but the sauce was delicious. We had asked for a lemon garlic aioli in advance to replace a saffron aioli but we were still served the saffron one. Mason quickly swapped this out for us. Samantha, our events coordinator, provided a discount as restitution for the issues. A few hiccups but they didn't take away from an otherwise great experience. I highly recommend The Laurel for special events. My overall rating is 8/10.

Father's Day Brunch, great atmosphere, accompanied by a 3 piece band. Mostly enjoyed the seafood station w basic cold offerings, jumbo shrimp. The Italian station had some hand tossed pizzas plus meatballs, tasty. Omelette station, thin dessert station and really poor quality beef (chewy, flavorless) at carving station. Similar experience w the chicken and pork chops. $65.00 ea included coffee and juice but no alcohol. Thought it was kind of pricey for the selection. expected better for $141.00. Will seek an alternative next visit to SLC.

I had never been to the grand America before and so we decided to have a family night out to stroll the windows, see the ginger bread house and enjoy an amazing dinner! And I will say it was a hit! The windows and gingerbread house were both amazing but the highlight was 1000% the food and experience at the laurel! I loved the aesthetic and atmosphere and the food was even better! Our server was phenomenal and they made sure we were well taken care of! I can't wait to come back and bring everyone to try this place out!! (Only downside was the lighting for photos wasn't great, but the food was amazing!)

While I was staying at the Grand America hotel, I was looking for an onsite breakfast option that was a bit more than a pastry and a cup of coffee. (If that's what you're looking for, however, they have quick options as well!) Someone recommended that I visit the Laurel and it was the highlight of my day! The "brasserie" is a bright, comfortable and classy café of sorts, that transforms into a lovely bar later in the day. Service was attentive and formal-our water stayed filled and my coffee kept hot and fresh. The food itself was outstanding-I had the traditional eggs, potatoes and the recommended chicken sausage while my son scarfed his waffles down happily. Everything was prepared perfectly and plated in such a way that I felt a twinge of guilt diving in to it. I enjoyed my meal so much that I will purposely come back to check out the bar scene at a later time.

We've stayed at this hotel for 10 days. We planned on dining at some of the high end restaurants in the area. However, the first night we dined at Laurels and only went to another restaurant twice in the 10 days. These people have it all together. The pizza, the pasta, the salmon, the salads - all have been exceptional. The services is beyond excellent. Laurels has a great atmosphere - casual but upscale. We also had breakfast at Laurels every day and same thing - they get an A++.

I love being a tourist in my own city and taking myself out for a little date! Laurel in the Grand America has been on my list for a while, and I luckily was able to sneak in for a quick lunch on their patio before they closed at 2pm. They re-open for their dinner/drinks menu at 5pm. It's so cute, trendy, and classy on the inside and they have a wonderful patio space as well. I sat in a shady spot and it was the perfect temperature, even in this heat. The shade did migrate eventually and I had to move inside. They gave me a couple complimentary rolls to start. I ordered one of their summery mocktails - a hibiscus lemonade - and it was really tasty. I didn't realize that their kitchen closed at 2pm because I misread their hours, so I felt a bit rushed to order, but I ended up getting their chopped salad and a side of fries. Both were delicious. They have a daily pizza special as well and today's was their 4-cheese pizza for $16, but it felt to hot outside to eat a hot pizza. The service was a little disappointing. Maybe it was because I showed up around 1:20ish and they were closing at 2? I'm not sure. I'd be curious to come check it out another time, and maybe have a better service experience. They also have wifi here so it would be a great spot to do some work, which a couple other folks were doing. It's a lovely little place, has good food, and was a perfect patio to sit on this afternoon.

I mostly enjoy this restaurant because the atmosphere is very relaxing and service is impeccable. The margarita is on the light side but flavor is good. The meatballs were a little tougher than I expected. Kids loved the bolognese though and the cauliflower was good. I'd try something different next visit.

Lovely setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Had the American (i.e. bacon, eggs, potatoes) for breakfast, margherita pizza for lunch and ribeye (Yukon mashers & spinach) for dinner. All were enjoyable. Dinner service, in particular, was impeccable. It might be best to have a reservation, though we walked in each time. If there was a wait, we were seated expeditiously. Fun for lively libations in the evening too.

Sunday brunch. So good! Food: flavor and variety of offerings ~ would give them 6 stars if I could. So delicious! Wonderful diversity of items that not only spanned breakfast and lunch but all the way to dinner. And they certainly had dessert well covered. Drinks: coffee was good but not hot enough and we had to practically beg for it upon our arrival. Mimosa was proper, with just a hint of juice, served with a nice slice of strawberry. It's a large, beautiful restaurant and we were glad to have been seated in the bar alcove, as the live music - while from a swinging 3-piece band - was a bit loud for us. Although being seated at two small, adjacent round bar tables was an awkward set up. Would have much preferred one of the booths in the bar area, but none were available when we were seated. Service was a pretty big miss. While one of the two servers who helped us was friendly, neither of them were particularly on it. We both ordered coffee when we arrived. They only brought one cup. And then it took about 5+ minutes to bring the cream, sugar and spoon. We came back from provisioning to unbussed tables, and with the tables being so small, I had to ask if they wanted us to bus our own tables (met with "oh no no, I can take that"). For such a nice place, it was a bummer to have such frustrating service. But with that said, would go back in a heartbeat for that killer Sunday brunch!

I had to pause mid dinner to write a review because the service and food was so incredible! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and the staff was so accommodating and attentive. Our server Danny answered all of my questions with such ease and enthusiasm and he made sure to take care of any concerns I had. I also believe we had one of the managers on the floor who came and brought me some complimentary macarons and a white rose to celebrate the occasion with us. Overall, this restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and an excellent staff!

Went to their Sunday brunch buffet and had a superb time overall! Starting from the beginning, customer service from the hostess (the very first person you interact with) was horrible. She rudely claimed we didn't have a reservation even though we were certain we did, and made a whole scene in front of a bunch of other customers asking us to step aside and wait. It was a mistake on their end that was fixed fairly quickly, but still an offsetting start. Our server on the other hand was AMAZING. Super attentive, kind, and took care of all of our needs. The restaurant itself is lovely! Beautifully designed and gives off a unique, fun ambiance. For the Sunday brunch there is also a live band, which provides another layer of entertainment :) Now onto the food. Normally you wouldn't expect much from a buffet, but everything served here was high quality and TASTED great. Some things you won't want to miss are the hot chocolate (dip a croissant in it!), fresh squeezed orange juice, waffles, and bread pudding! Very fun experience, I can see myself coming back with other loved ones for celebratory events. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

The lighter hair guy(photo).. was our waiter! I watched him in total disgust as he used the bottle opener to pluck something off the sole of his shoe! I hope the camera behind the bar work because he was digging in.....no rise no wipe off no nothing tossed in right in the cup for the next use. I immediately stopped eating and drink, please cash me out, and babe paid for purchase. We waited for our company to cash out so we could find our way to somewhere else Lemon Drop: was different Meatballs: Good flavor, but slightly mushy Location: beautiful 2 star for the display of poor bar keeping practices. That was flat out nasty, and he looked as if so what and kept pushing.

I loved the dessert here! Service is super nice and seated us even though we came in just a half hour before close. I love the vibe inside too, we're definitely coming back for more dessert and to try the other food!

The Laurel is lovely! The patio is awesome. I'm a fan of brunch, it's extravagant and pricey but delicious. So only go if you can stay and take advantage of eat it all. The reason they get a 4 is the evening bar service has been awful. They are arrogant, slow,

Laurel is a lovely spot to enjoy a meal anytime, but their Sunday brunch is divine. You may want to ask about your preferred location to sit because some areas are quieter with better views than others. Also, the live music was a little loud for our liking and not a genre we would have expected in this space. Our server was very helpful, but slow filling requests for simple things like sugar and drinks. However, we aren't in a hurry at Sunday brunch so it wasn't a huge deal to us. There are so many options that it is hard to choose! We loved the omelets, seafood, and baked goods. Our drinks were very tasty and everyone was happy with their selections. Laurel is a great option anytime, but their Sunday brunch is delightful.

Such a cute vibey restaurant in a good location! I came around happy hour and grabbed a seat at the bar with a friend. They have a nice drink menu of both alcoholic and NA drinks, and a nice snacks menu. We got the meatballs and pigs in a blanket which were both perfect as easy snacks. They were good and service was quick, but not outstanding. The bartenders were so friendly and fun to chat with, and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area once we were done.

This was one of a cute brunch spot places located inside the grand America. The interior was definitely beautiful. For how many people we had in our group, I didn't like the way it was set up where two booths were back to back, making it hard to communicate with our other guests. For the food, honest review I would say it didn't live up to par. I had the special pizza which I felt like maybe that was one of the best dishes there. My sister had this chicken dish and the menu didn't describe it properly as it came out looking like a soup and was pretty bland. Not entirely sure I would come here again for brunch.

Concert going on downtown so hard to find a place to eat. Was able to get into this Grand America eatery around 7:30 pm without a problem. Such a darling diner! Our server, Kayla, was outstanding! The beet salad was gorgeous and yummy. The meatball appetizer was small and could've been served hotter. My bf ordered the chicken which was almost like a stew with an abundance of vegetables. He loved it. I ordered the pizza. I'm not sure why I did. I wasn't in the mood for pizza but I think seeing the cute wood stove they were being made in tempted me. It was large enough for 2 or 3 people and thin crust... I just think I wasn't in the mood for it so I'd say it wasn't anything to write home about. Would definitely like to go back earlier to get some ice cream from their ice cream bar.

An elegant restaurant inside the luxurious Grand America Hotel. The waitstaff, though extremely busy, was very attentive and friendly, the chef even came out to say hello! Almost every item in the restaurant is made from scratch (including a delicious goat cheese butter mix to accompany the bread). Not pictured were the pigs in a blanket, the honest highlight, which snapped with every bite you took! I got a strawberry salad and added salmon. The salad itself was wonderful, but I wouldn't get the fish with it (I just wanted some protein). My mate got the steak and frites, where were hand cut and perfectly salted.
