Enjoyed my complimentary birthday wine today and, as always, had a wonderful dining experience at LAUREL. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the customer service is consistently pleasant. Always a great choice for a special moment or a simple, quality meal. Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Laurel, nestled within The Talbott Hotel in Chicago's Gold Coast, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance exuded a blend of Mediterranean warmth and cosmopolitan flair, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere. The culinary offerings were outstanding, showcasing a fusion of New American creativity with Mediterranean flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, highlighting local and seasonal ingredients that delighted the palate. As someone with a gluten intolerance, I was particularly impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. The chef and waitstaff were extremely communicative and accommodating, ensuring that my dining experience was both safe and enjoyable. Their knowledge and consideration made me feel at ease, allowing me to savor the meal without concern. The service was impeccable—friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. It's evident that the team at Laurel takes great pride in providing an exceptional dining experience for all guests.

Had a great experience at Laurel. I tried the barrel aged feta, branzino, and Joojeh chicken. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The feta with heirloom tomatoes was bright and tangy. The branzino was cooked perfectly with a light, aromatic broth. The chicken had bold spices with a refreshing touch from the pistachios and dates. The margaritas were excellent, balanced and not overly sweet. Big shout-out to George for the friendly and attentive service. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a flavorful, Mediterranean-inspired dinner.

We came for bottomless brunch and it was a great time. Our server and mixologist was phenomenal, he really made sure we enjoyed our drinks and was kind enough to let us sample his Bloody Mary mix. It’s got a great kick and we’d say it’s a must order as part of a boozy brunch. The chicken sandwich was also great and our server even gave us a sample cocktail shot on our way out. Cheers!

Dining at Laurel is a pleasant experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a calm and polished energy, making it a nice setting for both casual nights and slightly more dressed up occasions. The menu offers a range of thoughtful choices, and the pastas in particular are memorable, with textures that feel homemade and sauces that are rich without being heavy. The service is professional, though at times the pacing between courses can be slower than expected. It did not take away from the overall meal, but it is worth noting if you are short on time. The wine list complements the food well, with approachable options that pair nicely without being overwhelming. Overall Laurel comes across as a dependable restaurant that values both presentation and flavor.

Google
Food was great but I feel it was not worth of 5 stars comparing to other restaurants in the area, if only were for the Branzino I will give it 5 stars, Branzino was the best out of our meal.

Yelp
Overall, a great spot. I came on a weekday and had no trouble getting a table. They have a solid wine and cocktail selection. I started with the hummus, which was fresh and tasty. The burger was flavorful with a really nice black pepper mayo, and the pasta was also well done. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance felt upscale and inviting.

Yelp
Stopped into Laurel during their Happy Hour. This place is great if you're looking for a nice place to sit on the patio and have a couple drinks and a quick bite to eat. The service was great and our waiter made several suggestions that I'll try next time I go back. I added the veggies to the hummus which next time I'd probably skip. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something light to snack on.

Yelp
Met Chris at the bar -- he's the kind of bartender you dream of -- kind, funny, knows his cocktails. Took his food recommendations and they were all home runs. Highly recommend coming here for food and drink!! Beautiful hotel!

Yelp
I'm rather disappointed on many fronts. First, while Yelp says it has outdoor seating, it was in the 60s and there was no outdoor seating. I could have overlooked that if the food was good. However, .... I ordered the burger. Besides the fact that I ordered it without cheese (and they ignored that), the burger itself was disgusting. It looked and felt like they got packaged meat and just cooked it. I cut off the top layer of the burger to remove the cheese and you could see vertical lines within the beef. At the very least, they could have mixed the meat, and maybe season it. I was also told I couldn't have lettuce on the burger because it came with spinach. Ha! I also ordered the roasted squash. The smell was pungent I couldn't eat it. Very disappointed.

Yelp
First time at Laurel for holiday brunch with a group of 9 on a Sunday, we sat in the private room off to the right of the lobby. Service was on the slower side despite not being very busy, but it was ok as we were all chatting. I was surprised that on the weekend they don't have their breakfast menu past 11, so you're more limited to "lunch" items though there's avocado toast, a breakfast sandwich and shakshuka on the menu. Half the table ordered the gourmet burger and the remainder got the shakshuka. The fries that came with the burger were perfectly thin, crisp and seasoned. Overall it was good but nothing that would make me need to return, convenient for those that live in the neighborhood or staying at the hotel. From photos it does look like a cute outdoor patio when it's nice out.

Yelp
What a great find! We came for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is super cute, beautifully decorated, and lovely live guitar music. Christopher was an excellent bartender and host and took amazing care of our group - we came for our girlfriend's birthday and they truly went above and beyond to make her and us feel special. The food was amazing. The shakshuka was fresh and yummy, the mushroom toast was a group favorite, the fried chicken sandwich was flavorful and moist, and the egg and pork belly sandwich was exactly what I was craving for a classic yet different brunch item. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is special. My wife and I live in the neighborhood and this is our go-to spot. We wondered why we keep coming back and realized it's our server Alexis who always provides outstanding service and conversation. Thank you Alexis! We will see you again very soon..

Yelp
Fix your website and Open table - it says the Happy Hour runs daily - our server said it is only Monday-Friday. We came for happy hour drinks. We then ordered drinks and the place was not busy and the delivery took forever. We were there 75 minutes and had one round of drinks. The server didn't seem interested in serving

Yelp
I stayed at the Talbott Hotel and ate breakfast here at Laurel. Really cool ambiance. Food and drinks were both great as well. Also came back for cocktails and drinks before dinner and the Bartender was top tier.

Yelp
My wife and I just moved into the neighborhood and enjoyed a lovely evening on the patio. The food was very good and the prices are quite reasonable. Our service was slow but our server was friendly and professional so we just took our time and did some great people watching.
