"This is the low-key rooftop restaurant on top of Pacific Standard Time in River North. The Laurel Room is from the same team, which means you’ll find the same California-inspired seasonal menu. As a bonus, since the rooftop is covered, you can sit outside even when it’s raining. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Beautiful rooftop space with great food and an excellent vibe. Social distancing was easily enforced as tables were well spaced out. The fried cauliflower and paneer sausage were both delicious, well presented, and filling. I would recommend 1-2 small plates per person. Would love to come back!

Went on their opening day. I thought the ambiance was nice, music wasn’t too loud and waiters/ waitresses were attentive.Cocktails tasted good. Would be 5 stars but for 1, they veggie options were very very light. Even some sautéed veggies and make it “California style” taco. Small other detail, their chairs have these metal screws in them that your hair will get stuck to if you have longer hair, maybe they could cover those with tape or a plastic cover. Also, no draft beers. I went because it was new, not sure I’d go back though.

The views here are spectacular. The cocktails - not so much. I ordered the mezcal negroni and it tasted like a mouthful of campari -- woof. The roti apps were excellent. The salads were average. The entries were hit or miss. I would definitely not recommend the tofu entree - extremely lackluster and dry. Service was friendly. I would come back, but mainly for the view, glass of wine, and the roti apps.

What a treat! Service was great - we were accommodated even though they were busy, and servers were very attentive. Tacos are spectacular. Korean BBQ was the highlight. Cocktails are good too - they had a riff off of a Manhattan that was fresh and floral with cucumber. Excellent!

No complaints here. Great food, great drinks, attentive staff, and beautiful view. We tried many cocktails and they were all great. The oysters are very fresh and you have your choice of east or west coast offerings. I will definitely be going back!

Nice rooftop with good vibes however the food is not good and is quite overpriced for what it is. The soft shell crab was served with one of the worst tasting sauces I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Best described as a bitter oversalty soy sauce vinegar concoction. It was literally inedible. That dish is $30 for not much food and I would expect better. The other dish we got was the fish fry and the pieces in the plate were very small and it was quite difficulty tell what sea food was what. The presentation was not great and again I just expect much more. You have to pay a $30 deposit to make a reservation at this restaurant which would indicate some requisite level of culinary quality and overall dining experience but that’s not the case. Laurel Room just gets by on being a rooftop with a decent view and prices plates and drinks according to that view. I would not recommend coming here to dine, maybe for cocktails but there are better rooftops in the city for that.

We went for Sunday brunch and it was a beautiful day to be on the rooftop. Lots of safe practices. The food was great, but we were not all served at the same time, the last person quite a bit later. The mimosas are very small. Overall prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. The cocktails and appetizers were great, but service was subpar and the hanger steak was terrible. It had a very different texture, look and was cold. The host/manager did come over to offer an apology and provided us with new entrees. They added a "hospitality charge" to the check. When asked what that was for the server said it was for masks, gloves and supplies that they now have to buy due to COVID. This charge wasn't optional. This restaurant is not in the business of hospitality. Save your $57.55 Resy deposit per person and go elsewhere.
