I stumbled across Tavern Donuts on my morning walk and I am so glad I did! I tried the coconut donut and the classic glazed, and both were absolutely delicious. The donuts were super fluffy, fresh, and perfectly sweet without being too heavy. The coconut donut had the right amount of flavor and texture, and the glaze was simple but done right--which is harder to find than you'd think! The shop has a warm, welcoming vibe and the service was quick and friendly. If you're a donut lover or just looking for a little morning treat, this spot is definitely worth a stop. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors!

Incredible donuts (light and fluffy) and delicious breakfast sandwiches. No frills, just amazing food. Small inside - this is just an order and take your food place. Only downside is that they're not open Sundays. Conveniently situated on Washington Blvd. I always look forward to my day off when I can walk down to Laurel Tavern Donuts and get a donut and a breakfast sammie!

This place is a hole in the wall gem of a place! Donuts are light, fluffy and VERY flavorful constantly being made. If you're like me and are going for apple fritters know that during the week they are NOT made until AFTER 8AM and AFTER 10AM during the weekend! We had of course the sliders and were not disappointed, so yourself a favor and get them with everything it's even better! Breakfast sandwich was good though we would've loved a more balanced meat to egg ratio. Parking IS limited but people are constantly coming and going! They take cash AND cards.

Light, fluffy and tasty fresh donuts. Simple but delicious. Make sure you come with cash if you only want a donut or two, $5 credit minimum. They also make burgers and breakfast sandwiches. Smelled like bacon and donuts walking in and was very yummy!

I got donuts from here last week for a persons birthday party at my company, got 24 and it was a good price. All the donuts were fresh and it was midday. Everyone enjoyed them too! Good taste and would eat them again!

I am a born and raised life-long Laurelite and had never had the opportunity to go to Little Tavern until they just reopened (my mom would never let us go). I made it there around 8am on a Saturday am and I was already late to the game in terms of donughts—I was insanely disappointed because I was going solely to get a sampler of donughts, but with a fresh newborn, sleep mattered and I was too tired to think about ordering sandwiches with the fast paced crowd in there. With the selection of donughts I did get, I was NOT disappointed! Hands down, the best I have ever had in my life and that’s including your Fractured Prune and Sandy Pony down at the beach. While they have the fancy frills, Laurel Tavern is purist. They’re light, fluffy, and melt with each bite. It was fantastic. I do not like jelly filled and their jelly was excellent. The Boston crème pie was lovely. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar which was outstanding. Classic glaze is a must in whatever selection you get. Staff was super nice!!! I will need to return during the week to try other flavors and my husband is dying for the sliders since it’s been a while from his last fix. I will be back during the week to try again and update the review then. We will be back for sure!

Donuts were amazing ! Service was fast I was in and out, I ordered donuts and a steak an egg sandwich. I received all that for less than 10 bucks ! And it was homemade and fast! The workers are very sweet creating a warming ambiance

My family have been raving about these donuts for years and I finally had the pleasure of trying them a few days ago. The donuts were light and just melt in your mouth. I also ate one the next day and it was not stale or dry in the slightest. Hoping they have the apple fritter the next time I'm in town.

Hey friends! I came back to try their breakfast. I ordered the egg and cheese on wheat and a side of home fries. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of either. The toast was unbuttered and barely had any cheese. The home fries were barely browned and had zero flavor. Most likely will return for the donuts only. Hope you enjoy.

Ahead of the Laurel street festival I realized that I had parked right near Laurel Tavern Donuts... and I've been hearing about them for years, so I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. The standalone building is so tiny, and I could see how the line would end up out the door pretty easily. Thankfully, when I showed up around 11:30, there was only one person ahead of me. They have a good selection of donuts, coffee, and a bunch of breakfast sandwiches to choose from. A guy that had recently placed his order had said that the twists had just come out of the oven a few minutes ago. That was all I needed to hear... I grabbed one of those and a maple glazed. As I walked to the festival, I took some bites... and I loved how airy the twist was. It was fresh dough and sugary glaze, perfectly simple. The maple glaze was yummy too... the glaze was a notch sweeter than I expected. I'd love to go back and try the breakfast sandwiches... these donuts are great, but they didn't quite make it into my top 3. There were quite a few empty sections in the display, but I was hoping for more of a variety too. Did they sell out?? If I'm in the area and I have a donut craving, heck yeah I'll get one, though. Hope they continue to do well!

I came here for the first time on a Saturday morning at 10am and it was packed, I was surprised. My friends and I stopped by and the three of us could barely stand in the lobby since there was a crowd of people all wanting donuts. To be honest I was caught by surprise by the crowd. There is no seating place just a small counter to pick up donuts, but you can see the kitchen. When we walked in we were surprised to see that most of the donut counter was empty, but then 3 big treys of donuts fresh from the oven were brought out. As the line started to close, it was fun to see how people would order dozens, the donuts would start to fall short, and then out comes another fresh batch of donuts. We also ordered breakfast sandwiches along with our dozen donuts. The donuts themselves were fantastic, each donut was top tier. The glazed donuts were not my personal favorites, but the maple donuts were my personal favorite. The boston creme was also filled to the brim and was truly delightful. My third favorite was the blueberry donut. Would not go back to the glaze donuts, dont think they compare to the king of glaze donuts at krispy kreme, but the fresh flavorful donuts are unmatched. The breakfast sandwiches took about 10 mins to come out and were slightly disappointing, which is why my review is 4 stars. It was just plain white bread with not much egg and cheese filling. The bread wasn't toasted much and was quite soft, and it did take some time to come out. Besides that, the donuts were great, would definitely come back for more.

Great BLT with perfectly cooked bacon! Tasty doughnuts! My favorite are the glazed doughnuts. Also, friendly service.

Thursday 11/9/2023 Found out about this place for having some of the best donuts in the area so I had to go try for myself. Unfortunately, I ended up getting there around 12 pm and at that point all of the donuts were sold out except for 2 Apple fritters. I ended up getting an Apple fritter $2.39 & the 3 mini burgers (with ketchup & onions) $6. The Apple fritter was just okay and the mini burgers were disappointing and below average. The mini burgers just tasted like plain food that reminded me of high school food which is never a good thing. Strictly basing my experience off of what I got leads to a disappointing and overall underwhelming time. Despite that, I would still be open to returning and coming back at a earlier time when they actually have donuts available.

The food was good but let your customers know what ingredients you are putting in. I asked for turkey bacon egg and cheese and come to find out they added potatoes in the wrap without my knowledge. Very unprofessional.

These donuts were so good. Not overly sweet, very light and airy.. better than Dunkin and Krispy Kreme BY FAR. Went on a Thursday morning, not busy at all. Lady at counter was kind. $20 for a dozen, a little pricey but my family devoured the dozen in minutes so I don't regret the money spent at all.

Strawberry glazed & Chocolate cream filled The donuts were very soft in texture. The dough was missing that butter rich flavor. The glaze was not overly sweet which is good. The cream was bland, lacking the vanilla. The chocolate was more of a glaze, lacking depth to the donut. Overall they were just okay donuts, not to the hype the Maryland website nor everyone else made them out to be. Again, I am a foodie and have high expectations when I go eat out.

They are back!! And just as good as before. Fresh twist donuts and a Sausage Egg and Cheese on croissant is a Good Friday morning breakfast. The shop is small with fresh paint and counters. The owners and cashiers are just as friendly as before the temporary closure. Heads up--- if you make a right before the shop, it's easier to enter the parking lot and enter the store. This help to keep traffic flowing in the parking lot. It's small, but it s easy to create a traffic jam/back up in Route 1.

All the hype you've heard about these donuts are true!!!! These are some of the best donuts I've ever tasted. They are so soft and fluffy, and icing just melts in your mouth. I ordered the original, twist and blueberry and they were all amazing. They tasted fresh and were not overbearingly sweet. Would definitely come back to try the other flavors. There are a few parking spots behind the store and when I went around 10am they were pretty stocked but I know they sell out usually by the afternoon.

I finally tried the sliders and they are amazing!! Why am I not surprised lol!! This place can do no wrong.

The person who waited on me didn't say good morning. She wasn't smiling. This was my first time coming in there. I was all excited to try something new and was gonna tell her that but her attitude and her demeanor just wasn't nice. I came in there on Wednesday 23 October. The food by the way was good. The donut was good.

Lest me start by saying I am not a fan of donuts.. with that being said forget krispy Kream forget 7/11 forget the grocery store, dunkin and wherever else you get donuts this is the place to get now ! Small place but donuts will melt in your mouth

i was going to take a picture, but I inhaled the donut so fast I forgot. on a serious note, this is truly a one-of-a-kind donut. it's not your typical overly-sweet donut. it's extremely light and fluffy, doesn't leave you feeling overly heavy from sugar (which is always the case with other donuts). I came extremely early, around 6:30 AM, but they didn't have any of their specialty donuts. the woman in the front let me know that the twists/filled donuts are ready 1-2 hours after opening, so if you're looking to get specialty items (fritters, twists, filled) come at around 8-9. i'll be back... maybe tomorrow...

Judging a book by its cover will make you miss a true treasure. Open the door of this shop and your senses will take you to a happy place. Taste the donuts and you will be hooked. The flavors are delightful and the texture is light. The just right amount of sugar makes this place a "go to". They also make good breakfast sandwiches. Be there when they open or you will miss out!!!!!!!

Just off historic Laurel's Main Street is a green roof tiny tavern called Laurel Tavern Donuts. It's in an old Little Tavern, a Baltimore-based burger chain, building. The staff are friendly and sell coffee, cold drinks, and of course, doughnuts. They have all the basic kinds. My daughter and I ordered a chocolate glazed twist donut for less than $1. It was warm and delicious! Note: There's a $5 credit card limit. There's a small parking lot in the back.

Biting into one of their glazed donuts was an out of body experience - seriously never ate anything so light and fluffy. It literally melts in your mouth and makes you question reality.

I'm surprised I never did a review of this place, since Little Tavern was one of my favorite places to go to get hamburgers when I was young. The hamburgers in this place are much like the ones they had at Little Taverns everywhere. They are so close to the original it's hard to tell them apart. I would definitely go back here again and buy some by the bag.

Okay so I am writing this review now that my memory has been jogged by attempting to eat a dunkin donut and throwing it away. This place has set the bar HIGHHHH. And when I say that I mean they can stand toe to toe with Blondies, and even fractured prune hands down. When i walked in this little hut I knew I was in for a treat, you can tell the love and attention that goes into a skill and business. by the appearance of the business, typically when restaurants are focused on expanding and multi locations the craft begins to decrease but this place is dedicated to keeping all the attention in the buttery, flaky, goodness that is these donuts. Typically I have to throw donuts away after a meeting but for this particular meeting I ordered 2 dozen. None were left to the point colleagues came up to me and said what kind of crack did you put on those donuts lol. There was not a one left but what I did receive were emails and visits to my office asking for the name. Now I cannot speak for their sliders or breakfast sandwiches. All I know is I could not smell any fried onions or meat on the grill or wafting in the air but I did witness piled high bacon in the kitchen. I have been dreaming of one of these donuts. May make a visit this week. No donut will ever compare once you have had one from Laurel Tavern Donuts.

I finally stopped in to try the donuts. When I first walked in I immediately knew this as a hole in the wall type of place. They didn't have many selections or donuts so I stuck with strawberry, maple and original Glazed donuts. The pricing was okay, paid just under $6 for a half dozen. When I got to the car. I tried a couple of the donuts. They were not bad at all. They were yeast based which I like more than cake. They were soft and glazed enough. The donuts actually were still soft this morning which is a plus! I will say the presentation may be lacking but it makes up for it in taste.

I love this place, and I was very saddened to see someone decided to drive their car into it. I can't wait for them to open again so I can get those amazing burger sliders! Been coming here for 10 years now, and the slider recipe is just like the one they used for a little tavern burgers in Wheaton Maryland. It's a cute little place tucked away in downtown Laurel, they'll forever have a customer with me.

Best donuts I've ever had in my life. Light and fluffy. Unfortunately it looks like a car crashed into the side of their shop earlier this week so they are temporarily closed. At least I'm hoping it's temporary.

HANDS DOWN BEST I EVER HAD! So sad they're closed right now I can't wait until they open again. It's a small mom and pop place almost like a "hole in the wall" if you will BUT if you know anything about anything you know those are the best places lol...must get them EARLY because they will be sold out

I'm a lover of donuts. So much so, I would prefer them over majority of cakes. With that being said, I know a good donut when I taste one! I knew I was going to Laurel for a meeting, so I thought I would cross Laurel Tavern Donuts off my list of "places to try" since it's been bookmarked forever and a day. If you blink, you will pass it. In the past, I have passed it, hence the reason I've never stopped before. Glad I asked the BFF Crystal H. it's approximate location, because I had no clue I'd been driving right past it all this time. I stopped in around 1pm on a weekday and parked in the back in a tiny parking lot adjacent to the shop. The shop itself is a complete dive/hole in the wall, which is cool because that's usually where the best food comes from. The signs posted on the door of course informed everyone to wear a mask...it is a pandemic going on, so I would expect nothing less, but then other signs urged people to have conversations on your phone outside of the shop and not to talk on the phone inside. No problem for me because I don't normally do that, but apparently that must be an issue for the store owners. The same signs were also posted inside, just in case you didn't get the message. Two women were working inside and 1 greeted me in a very annoyed manner. Three selections of donuts were available. I chose the glazed twist and chocolate twist...for a total of $2. Not a bad deal. I ate the chocolate twist donut and thought it was a solid donut, but not the best I've ever eaten. It was fresh and tasty, but just average in my book. I wouldn't make a special trip from my home to come here for a donut. Maybe I needed to be here in the morning to get the extra fresh batch, but these were just average. I hear the mini burgers are really good, so perhaps if I'm in the area and want a few sliders, I'll pop in. I'll be sure not to talk on the phone inside the shop if I do. HA!

Warm, fluffy excellent donuts. Parking can be challenging. I don't know that I'd make a point of going back (a little out of my way), but I really enjoyed the donuts I had.

Definitely a hole in the wall (sometimes the hole in the wall places serve the best food ‍) but apparently there's some history with this place/location. Got a half dozen glazed and iced donuts and a steak/egg/cheese sandwich. Donuts were pretty good but the sandwich was cooked with steakum like meat, so it was pretty thin and they only had white bread. I was pleased with the overall taste of everything. I would be back. As far as the hospitality, the lady at the register wasn't necessarily friendly but she wasn't rude either IMO. She said good morning and thanked me for my business but there wasn't any small talk which I was ok with. I had more conversation with the other two patrons in there, they both recommended the home fries which I will try on another visit. There's a very small lot in the back with a few spots on the side, just make sure you turn in as you approach and not after... it's a one way street so you can't easily turn around once you realize you've past it.

OMG is all I can say. I have been sleeping on the Laura tavern donut shop. The only reason I checked this spot out is because I saw it on yelp with really good reviews and I saw it on another website listed as the #1 donut shop in Laurel. These donuts melt in your mouth they or so fresh and delicious. I'm not even a doughnut lover, but I would definitely be back for more and highly recommend.

1st time getting there. You can tell the donuts are not made like a factory. Light and soft even after 6 hours later. A little pricey but worth it for people who want a high quality product as a treat.

I'm giving you a 2 because you don't communicate when you are closing early. I drove to go to this place and got there 15 min before closing time and to my surprised the lights were off... it was closed. They do not seems to have a website and they do not bother to leave a note saying they closed early. I suggest posting a note by the door or windows so people know that maybe you sold out and therefore had to close or make a Facebook page and post it there? Anything to have your costumers informed so they don't waste their time driving to you. I Look forward to trying you another time and update this post with an actual food review

I read a recommendation for Laurel Tavern while reading the reviews of another doughnut shop so I thought I would give them a try. I was disappointed to find they only have yeast doughnuts here, no cake style. Yeast doughnuts (think crispy cream) have little substance and are always covered in a glazed sugar that explodes everywhere when you try to eat them. The doughnuts here are better than anything served at the big chains, but not worth a special trip. I was pleased to see that they serve other food items, so I did pick up a breakfast sandwich (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese) as well. I understand they also serve min burgers (sliders). which is what the Laurel Tavern is really famous for.

Welcome back. I love this place and go often. My whole family donated to the GoFundMe. Best donuts I have ever had. I have a Dunkin Donuts a half a block away but go to Laurel from 40 miles away to get the donuts. Thank you for treating a family member of mind kindly. I appreciate all of you.

Went here last Weds 12/29 with a couple of friends as we were walking around the town. This little donut shop caught my eye and I walked in hoping to see a bunch of options but wow by 2pm - they were already sold out of most options and I really only had a couple of choices to make. I got some glazed, some sugar/cinnamon ones, and a chocolate one. Not expecting too much - we got it to go and had it about 20 mins later and wow the donuts are amazing and super soft!!! Honestly I felt like it was a homemade version of Krispy Kreme in a way - but like a bit bigger and better. I'd get it again if I was in this part of town! If you are considering trying it - go check it out.

This place is very underwhelming at first glance but it is a historic little place that's definitely worth the stop!! The donuts weren't anything special but I loved the mini burgers! The prices are good and the burgers were juicy and flavorful. Overall, this is a must try for those 80 year old burgers!!

I really wanted to be able to review their donuts... But alas, not possible. According to their website and physical location, they open at 6 AM on Saturdays. I needed donuts by 7 AM, so I stopped in there at 6:45. A full 45 minutes after they open. Their lights were on, as was the open sign. When I walked in, two ladies were talking behind the counter, and there were no donuts or any other food items in sight. I asked if I could place an order and they told me to come back in 30 minutes if I wanted them. To be honest, they actually seemed annoyed that they had to stop their conversation for me. And I'm not sure why 45 minutes after the store opening there wasn't food available. Dunkin', two stores down, saved the day.

The Laurel Tavern Donuts is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. It stands alone along route 1 near the post office across from an old printing store. I was a bit disappointed in the assortment of donuts when I got there, maybe I just got there at a late/bad time. I did get an egg sandwich which was really good. The staff were kind and sweet. No room to dine in but the food is great. Probably removing from the effects of the pandemic. Yal go head check them out and support !

These could be the best donuts I've ever eaten. They're a little bit on the expensive side so we don't get them that often, but when we do they are always perfect.
