The 12 Best Sandwiches In Houston

"Sandwich: french dip Laurenzo's Prime Rib Restaurant’s founder is from the family behind Ninfa's — and their french dip has the same legendary reputation. This sandwich starts with the perfect bread-to-beef ratio, with the soft house-made italian roll holding the thinly sliced soft prime rib. Add the provolone and take dunks between the au jus and tangy horseradish to elevate the beef. Even if your table orders the specialized hand-cut steaks, feel confident that the right move is ordering this sandwich (full size) for your group." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, julie takahashi

Eclectic, if not expansive menu that reflects some of the cool old school aspects of the Laurenzo family. All the sports memorabilia on the walls is a peculiar twist to the atmosphere which makes it a bit hard to put a distinctive label on the place, and u get the vibe they kind of like it that way. I agree w others that their prime rib French dip is second to none in town. I more frequently get one of their seafood offerings here as their flavors are distinctly Bayou City, aka Htown. I think they could use a little less dressing on their salads that pair well w all the grilled pesce options and the gumbo, and I think they could pair down the menu a bit so that it doesn’t blow away new comers…but honestly, they somehow pull off great plays in all the corners of their menu that I’ve tried… so kudos to the kitchen. Mama would be proud. The service has a bit of an old school attentiveness that I like, and always make me happy when I get the chance to return for lunch. I probably should try to make it n for dinner and see what that’s like, and I’ve heard it’s good to get reservations in that case…

Came in for the Thursday steak special. I asked for medium rare (which is what they recommend), yet much of my slice was well done (see photo). The part of my 10 ounce cut, which was actually medium rare, tasted dry, as well. There was no marbling in the meat; the only fat was from the fat cap. My side Caesar salad was good if a tad overdressed. I might go back and try soup or other foods, but I would never go back for their prime rib.

I really wanted to like this place. The waiter was old and didn’t care. Ordering a glass of wine was difficult, getting a side of horseradish was impossible. Food was OK. Kinda old style meat & potatoes place, no frills for sure. The sweat potato was AMAZING, the Fresh Fish was OK, but way too much sauce. The Prime Rib was pretty good and cooked as ordered. Chianti was good, Chardonnay was not. Would I go back? Probably not

Laurenzo’s Prime Rib is the most delicious home you could possibly find in Houston. The vibe is warm and cozy, the team members are very welcoming, and the food is amazing! This home is Supreme!

Overall a really nice dining experience. We had never been there and our server Kevin was fabulous in explaining the history of the restaurant and menu. The variety is crazy!! Everything was cooked really nicely with good flavors. We will for sure be back.

Best kept secret in Houston! Service is always top notch. Food is off the charts. It’s me and my bfs go to when we want a nice good delicious dinner. Portions are great for the price. We happened to go for steak night got a round a drinks apps and two steaks for $150. (more than we usually spend there) But everything is sooo delicious & there is truly something for everyone on the menu. The TVs are a nice touch also.

Google
Everything was excellent! Service was expedient, hot bread servers immediately upon being seated. The French Martini was light and refreshing but yet just right amount of bubbly. The crab fingers appetizer was delicious, nice and meaty! You will not be disappointed. The crab cake was also on point, light crust with all meat inside. My husband and O both got red fish, his lemon butter creamy sauce melt in your mouth! Lumps and lumps of crab meat and shrimp on top, and same with my ponchartrain sauce. My son loved the dark roux in the seafood and okra gumbo!

Yelp
The Thanksgiving family meal was unbelievable. I will definitely order again. I pretended like I cooked everything in my own dishes. Everyone was amazed by the Turkey and fixings. Key Lime Pie is incredible.

Yelp
Walking into Laurenzo's, one gets transported back a few decades-- the old time feel with red booths, brass chandeliers, and sports memorabilia scattered throughout the restaurant definitely gives off a vibe. We came Valentine's weekend, and they scattered rose petals at each table and along the floors. The menu is quite extensive, but they're known for their prime rib! The prime rib sandwich with its tender slices of beef was a winner for us. The broccolini we chose as the side was nicely cooked and tasted great with the cheese sprinkled on top. The sea bass from the daily special came topped with tasty bruschetta/vinegar tomatoes pieces which contrasted well with all the butter used to cook the fish. The sea bass itself wasn't melty or oily; it was firm, plump, and meaty. It was parked with some mashed potatoes (meh) and nicely cooked asparagus. The Ahi tuna salad came with long strips of seared tuna and a sweet Thai peanut dressing + honey lime vinaigrette. Without dressing, the beautifully ruby red tuna is pretty tasteless... but I appreciated how much tuna they served, the strips of mango, and thick wedges of avocado in the salad! To finish off, we got the layered chocolate cake, which came as a half moon (half a 6 inch cake) and vanilla ice cream. The strawberry sauce on the bottom tasted pretty artificial to me-- didn't like that at all, and the cake itself and the ice cream were very much just okay. It would hit the spot if one was craving some cake but there wasn't anything too special... we went somewhere else after for dessert! Service was overall friendly and nice although a bit slow. But when we answered "water" for drink orders, we got the usual half eye-roll/sigh from the waiter which didn't start things off very well. He was also very busy split amongst the tables, but other staff came to check up on us. Paying the check took half an hour but they did let us use a gift certificate, so I'm happy with that! Overall, it was fun to try a Houston establishment for something different. To us, their food was okay (with the prime rib sandwich being the standout) and pretty pricey for what it was. I can see the appeal of bringing the kids since their menu has so much variety and for those who love the old-timey feel, but I'll likely choose their sister restaurant over Laurenzo's! There's plenty of parking split between their 2 lots (one's a lot bigger than the other), and you can follow your nose (and the signs) to the entrance! Indoor and patio seating are available. If you get cold easily, bring a jacket! Their A/C is Houston strong.

Yelp
So... First of all I walked in and the host looks pretty annoyed that I even came inside. Lol. It kind of set the atmosphere of how my time here would go. I literally sat there for minutes upon minutes looking around wondering who was going to serve me... or even acknowledge my presence. I was waiting and then saw the manager locked eyes with him and still no budge. He made no hustle or fuss about me waiting there for minutes on end. After a visible sigh, he came to my table with no apologies and no acknowledgment and asked me how I'm doing. I said well, I'm a little bit better now that someone finally realized that I'm sitting here. He kind of scoffed and the one about asking me what do I want to drink. He was very tight face and stern and I'm actually quite stupified at the level of service here, or lack thereof. Yikes. Then I ordered the half rack of ribs and they brought out a whole rack. I said wow this is big This is a half rack. They said yes. Then they said let me go check. Then it turns out it really was a whole rack. Typically, in any restaurant with etiquette, they know that you're not supposed to take back food that has been served. Especially meat. You're supposed to just let the customer have it. No, the manager took my plate... You know, further making me wait for what I ordered, took it to the back to have it cut, then brought me back my ribs. I'm honestly so over everything. (Ribs weren't seasoned assist from the gunk of sauce they dumped on top. Mashed potatoes and gravy were unseasoned as well) Now, after eating, I'm just sitting here looking around trying to flag somebody to get my bill because I have a meeting in 15 minutes. What is going on? This is my birthday meal and I don't even want my birthday brownie anymore. They can keep it. Aggravating.

Yelp
Been coming here for years! The food is always great, service is quick, and the atmosphere is chill with some jazz music playing. I love their Asian chicken wrap with a cup of gumbo and their seasoned fries. Yum!

Yelp
Love love love this place! About a year ago, we decided to eat here, and my only regret is I wish we had gone sooner! It's just that good. The service is EXCELLENT and the food is FABULOUS. Today we brought out of town guest with us and they loved it! The menu is so diverse, there is something for everyone. From steaks, salads, pizza, seafood, burgers, they have it all. And when you arrive to your table, they bring you a warm bread plate that is so delicious, you'll have to be careful not to over indulge! It's so good. The atmosphere is very warm and classy, (think nice steakhouse) with a touch of old school bar plus sports memorabilia. Everything we've ever gotten to eat here is so delicious. The french dip is amazing, the chicken pesto sandwich was divine, and my friend raved about the gumbo and the burger! Side note- the salad dressings are amazing! Give them a try... you won't regret it!

Yelp
Went for lunch and had items from lunch menu. Had the shrimp po-boy which was over $20 and it only had 4 shrimp. I would have expected more. The taste and quality was good but for that price I expected more.

Laura T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Good service. Very attentive staff. We had prime rib and pizza for the kids. Pizza was massive that 2 kids could share. Prime rib and margaritas were delicious. Reason for 4 stars is the dessert. Italian cream cake lacks cake. It had more icing than cake. Icing tasted sour and could Have been thinner layers of icing between more cake. Otherwise good experience. Will be back

Yelp
THE ORDER Two people: 2x Full Orders of French Dip with a side of Mac & cheese delivered through DoorDash. THE GREAT Laurenzo's French Dip serves up a heaping portion of perfect shaved beef. The restaurant provides a nice au jus and horseradish cream both generously portioned. THE GOOD Both diners thought the Mac & cheese lacked salt. But overall, it had a good texture (the elbow macaroni was not mushy at all) and a creamy consistency without being soupy. THE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT For such a nice sandwich, we were surprised at the bread on which it was served. It did not provide the satisfying crunch of an outer crust or the marvelous mouthfeel of a traditional French bread's crumb. I ended up ditching half of mine and turned it into an open face French Dip instead.

Yelp
Well, I'm in the Houston airport at Laurenzo's Cantina with a long wait till next flight. Totally enjoying Mauricio serving me chicken tacos with HOT sauce, refried beans and rice. This is the place you want to be during a layover. YUM.

Yelp
Visited for a friend's birthday lunch on the 29th of December. Nice atmosphere! It was really slow that day as we were maybe one of 6 tables being served. I say that to say it left me a bit surprised as to why our server would rarely check on us. Now, mind you, the hostess was very sweet and attentive to our inital needs when being seated. I started my order with a mimosa along with a cup of gumbo and grilled chicken with a sweet baked potato. The mimosa was the best I've tasted, so I had to order a second. I've no idea what the cup of gumbo tasted like as they brought me a cup of Italian meatball soup by mistake. However, it was tasty; tasted very similar to wonton soup. The chicken and sweet potato were both very good!!

Yelp
Nope Average at best We tried 3 different types of food and none of them were good. Shrimp diavolo was unfresh Chicken and waffles were bland and unseasoned Fish of the day was nasty Tip: Condense the menu Everything is bound to be low to average tasting for a place with a menu expansive as those one. Save your money

Yelp
Food was excellent! Will definitely be returning for that French dip! Lots of variety on the menu which was nice.

Yelp
Great ambience, service and excellent food- what more could you want? We met for a work lunch, had lunch specials, dessert and coffee- everything was wonderful.

Yelp
Finding Italian food in Houston has become just a bit easier after today. I was invited to dinner and walked into the most adorable Christmas decorated family restaurant. You walk in and automatically feel welcomed. The staff all make sure they are attentive and welcoming. The table bread was warm and soft with the best whipped butter I've had in a minute. They have so many options to choose from and are able to accomodate some a la carte tastes!!! I love Alio olio ... I think that's how you write it and I got my fix. I appreciate how comforting the food was. I can't wait to go back and try the desserts.

Yelp
Been here twice. Make sure Oscar is your waiter. He's attentive, funny, and will make sure you're well taken care of. Bellini drink: 5/5 Coconut shrimp: 4/5 (don't like the orange-flavored dip) Cheesecake: 4.5/5 Ravioli: 3/5 Fish & chips: 5/5 Free bread with butter: 5/5 Chicken parmigiana: 3/5 Lasagna: 3/5 Creamed spinach: 5/5 All dishes taste fresh. The flavors in the lasagna and ravioli were meh. Not a fan of either. The ravioli sauce could be better. The dish I enjoyed the most was the fish and chips. The batter for the fish was different than at other places I've had fish and chips. And the fries were the right amount of crunchiness with good flavor. The tartar sauce was good but the ketchup had a mild horseradish flavor that I didn't like. The service overall is great. The restrooms are clean. The decor is vintage with a lot of sports memorabilia. I don't know if it's because it was Mother's Day and lots of people but it was quite cold.

Yelp
I didn't take pics. I was in from a funeral and just wanted some solo. I had a very generous gift cert from a previous poor experience at one of their sister restaurants.. . Staff was outstanding, kind. Ordered a ribeye, which was on a crazy discount on a Thursday (highly recommend!). It was perfect. Medium rare, but the fat was perfectly rendered. Baked potato, and one of their epic margaritas. They slayed. God bless mama ninfa! Laterdays, keeds.

Yelp
We went to Laurenzo's on a Thursday evening, which is the night of the prime rib/steak special. My husband and I both tried the prime rib. I also ordered the seafood gumbo (shrimp only, dark roux) and my husband had the clam chowder. Overall, the food was very good, the servers were attentive. We would return.

Yelp
Laurenzo's is an interesting restaurant concept from the same family behind El Tiempo Cantina, The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, and more. The Laurenzo family has been in the restaurant industry for over 50-years through multiple generations. Domenic Laurenzo, the founder of Laurenzo's, is the grandson of the late Mama Ninfa, the restauranteur who started it all in 1973. This restaurant is all over the place. It feels like a sports bar with all of the sports memorabilia decor and TVs. However, it's more of a local American steakhouse with influences from Italy and Mexico. They are specifically known for their Prime Rib, but they have pizzas, pastas, fajitas, burgers, and more. They have a free private parking lot with plenty of spaces in the front and back. Depending on when you come to dine, you may need a reservation, as it was quite busy on a random Saturday night. When we were seated, they immediately gave us some complimentary bread and butter. +Complimentary Bread and Butter - 4/5 As I am a big fan of the margaritas at their sister restaurant, The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, I wanted to check them out here as well. [DRINKS] +Blood Orange Rita (Herradura Reposado tequila, Chambord, Grand Marnier, blood orange, and cinnamon) for $17 - This didn't do it for me. It's big and boozy, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor. - 3/5 As for food, we went with a Greens salad, Prime Rib, and French Fries. [INSALATE] +Small Greens (greens, smoked bacon, egg, croutons, tomatoes, carrots, roasted corn, and red cabbage) with honey lime vinaigrette dressing for $10.99 - This was a regular salad. - 3.5/5 [PRIME RIB] +12 oz Prime Rib (sub small salad for sides for an extra $4) for $47.99 - We replaced the small salad with the French Fries. The French Fries were excellent. They tasted like the thicker, wedge potato fries, but they remained thin. I personally liked them a lot and would give them a 4.5/5. As for the Prime Rib, it was definitely juicy. The taste of the meat was just okay, nothing crazy. - 3.5/5 Overall, Laurenzo's was a fun dining experience. My favorite part was the French Fries. The margaritas and prime rib were okay. They do have other items on the menu I would like to try next from the Prime Rib Quesadillas and more. The service is hit or miss. The host was incredible at his job, but the servers dismissed our multiple requests to get a straw for a drink (we asked 3 times). If you want to experience an interesting local steakhouse from the same family behind the best Tex-Mex restaurants in Houston, check out Laurenzo's. Come for the fries at least.
google avatar

Jacob D.

Yelp
The aesthetic is everything here. Not many places can pull off the 70's/80's intimacy that Laurenzo's does. Wood panel walls and sports memorabilia welcome you here every visit. Old school classy. Menu options range from Italian, Mexican, and Classic American. But the star here is the Prime Rib. Comes in multiple oz options to suit your hunger, and is probably the only place in Houston I'd order a prime rib. It is cooked perfectly and comes dressed with horseradish and the au jus drippings. The crust is salty delicious and the meat has just the right amount of chew. Not much else stands out here. I've been told the artichoke dip here is one of the best around, but when I ordered it is was just ok. Get the prime rib or get disappointed is how it goes for me.

Elwolfman D.

Yelp
$60 for literally what you see on this plate. Tiny, dried up, nasty piece of "filet mignon" and a lame baked potato.
google avatar

Stephen K.

Yelp
This place has always been our go to place for Prime Rib and our recent visit on 12/24/2023 was no exception. The service was excellent and the Prime Rib is still the best and cooked to perfection. It really melts in your mouth, even the fat is delicious. My wife always passes her fat over to me and I greedily accept it. I always get the asparagus as a side and it is also always tender and cooked to perfection. Service is impeccable. The host and servers always greet us and ensure our visit is memorable. If stopping for dinner or brunch then remember to make a reservation, but if stopping for lunch then a walk-in will do, but you will always be received with a welcome and treated with value.

Yelp
odd idea of mexican and italian food? but also steak? service was good but food was ehh... wouldn't go back for it

Yelp
We came here for the first time and were blown away by the service and food. Shot out to Oscar! The meal started off with a bread service. They have happy hour from 11 AM-7 PM so we got some margaritas to start dinner. We ordered the crab cakes (2) as an appetizer and it was so good! They crab cakes were big and full of jumbo lump crab meat. It was served with a hollandaise sauce on the side. For the entrees, we both got the prime rib with a baked potato, fully loaded. It was phenomenal! The prime rib was perfectly cooked. It came with au jus, horseradish cream and horseradish. We were so stuffed after that meal, but it was so worth the calories. For dessert, we got the strawberry pie to go. It was packed with strawberries and lined with a delicious custard. Highly recommend getting for dessert, dine in or to go!

Yelp
Everything was great! Service was excellent. You simply can't go wrong here. The ambiance was nice. We got a chance to catch up with family and treat them to great service at Laurenzo's!

Yelp
Came here for Easter brunch this year and had a great experience. The service and the atmosphere were excellent. Kind of gave the vibe of an old school Italian steakhouse with a much better menu. For appetizers we started off with the grilled artichokes and fried oysters. Both were a good size and were super tasty. For entrees I got the 12 oz prime rib with mashed potatoes and Italian wedding soup and my gf ordered the lemon butter fish with rice and clam chowder. The Italian wedding soup was the highlight for me. The Prime Rib was pretty decent and better than most I've found in the area. My girlfriend loved her fish. She wants to come back to Laurenzos just for that fish. We ordered the little one a kids hot dog which was an impressive size for a kids meal. Our waiter was super attentive and our drinks were always full. We will definitely will be back.

Yelp
OMG! We went here a few days ago for our anniversary. Just the 2 of us and the restaurant was otherwise empty. We were early for our reservations and they seated us immediately. I had been here before with my ex husband (yes I know lol ) but my husband didn't care. It's close to our church and home and we pass it on Sundays to go to church so we figured it was time to go. We of course had the 10ox prime rib at my recommendation since I had it before. The old man wasn't crazy about the prices (he's always been a cheapskate lol) but he got the Cole slaw and I got the creamed spinach. We both loved our sides. The bread was bland according to him but I liked it, very soft and salty butter that seemed all homemade. The waiter was FAST! And excellent! Literally ordered, went to the bathroom, and our food was on the table in minutes. They set a new record. A mom and pop pizza place in the heights should take note (not naming names )I've not had that great of service in ages in Houston ! The best service I get is when I go back home to Louisiana to see family in the small town they live. Anyways, I wanted a dessert, he didn't, I asked the waiter about an Italian dessert I can't spell or pronounce (I'm Cajun we don't have that lol ) Panna something. He recommended it and I'm glad he did. My husband had 2 margaritas, he said that for the $11 price they were "too small"but he said they were strong and he liked that. We enjoyed it and brought most home for the kids. We will definitely be back when the babysitter is available again !

Yelp
Laurenzos is a family favorite. It has been around for a long time and serves consistently great food. One of our favorites are their artichoke hearts. Such great flavors on these with an awesome aioli sauce served with it. Another family favorite is the Italian wedding soup. Perfect blend of flavors. If your in the mood for heartier meal, you can't go wrong with beans and rice or anything served with Sunday gravy. The have a full service bar with a wait staff that is extremely attentive.

Yelp
WOW!!! This was my first time to Laurenzo's and it was outstanding! We ordered the meatball sub and the Ahi Tuna Salad. Both excellent! The meatball sub was a true meatball sub, great bread, meatballs, smothered in meat sauce, topped with melted provolone cheese. The ahi tuna salad was dynamite!! Cooked perfectly rare, coated in sesame seeds, mangos, avocado, a delicious vinaigrette!! Ambiance is warm, dark wood, old sports photos, beautiful chandeliers..... Service was excellent, Rene was our server and he was friendly, helpful, prompt! Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
I am a regular take out customer, and would usually give a solid 4.5 star review. Unfortunately, something was terribly off tonight. Placed my first attempted order which was promptly cancelled by Laurenzo's (see pic). Placed my order again only to receive confirmation that it would be ready for pick up in 615 minutes (see pic). Math is hard, but that's over 10 hours to make a bowl of soup, a burger, and fries. Tried to call but was promptly put on hold for exactly 15 minutes before I finally hung up and drove there not knowing if I would have an order waiting for me or not. My order was ready (and no longer the proper temperature), but when I shared my troubles with the host I was advised that they weren't the manager and they were busy tonight. I can assure you I was sorry to be a customer tonight causing you to be busy.

Yelp
We all enjoyed our meals and drinks on our first visit at this Washington Ave location. It was very busy for a Monday night . . waited about 25 mins for a table. Realized why later . . a whole huge party occupied the back. "Rolands" birthday. Well he had a nice one and they shared the huge cake with us! Mariachi band and everything which was so cool! My lasagna was served up hot and was very tasty. My daughter's chicken parmigiana was probably the best I have ever tasted. The chicken was cooked perfectly tender and the breading was full of flavor. We all had caesar salads with our meals and we all thought they were very good. Lots of good sports memorabilia all over to look at while you wait. There is something for everyone on their menu

Yelp
Always like coming here. The ambience is good. The service is incredible and they have some thing for everyone on the menu. I absolutely love this year. Tuna salad.

Yelp
This review is based on a company Christmas dinner for a party of about 15 people. Pros: Blackened fish with (loads of) toppings of shrimp and crab meat was great. It might be a tad bit salty but I like it. Spinach artichoke dip was off the chain. The food came in generous portions. Service was great. Oscar and Eric were awesome. Cons: The drinks were a bit weak for me.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
Nice dinner at Laurenzo's. MENU: Large menu to choose from plus complimentary bread and butter while you wait for your meal. APP: We started with the coconut shrimp which was really good. It was a healthier version, not the super battered kind. Large, succulent shrimp. MAIN: For my main course, I had one of their red fish selections, specifically lemon butter. It was tasty -- tender and creamy. SIDE: They have a large selection of sides and I went with a kale salad. It was surprisingly delicious! I inhaled it. Highly recommend it if you want a healthier option. SERVICE: Friendly and efficient. PARKING: Large lot. RESERVATIONS: It's a large restaurant with many tables. If you're coming during a busy time, you can make reservations on their website.

Yelp
I'm so grateful that restaurants like these are still around. This was our first time at Laurenzo's and it definitely won't be the last!! The vibe is perfect for this time of year, cozy and nostalgic!! I started with the wedge and my husband had the greek salad, both were perfect! Fresh and chilled, just like salads should be! Next we split the 16 oz Prime Rib with Mashed Potatoes and Mac-n-Cheese. I cannot say enough how freaking awesome the Prime Rib was and with the whipped horseradish sauce...to die for!! Both sides were great too, especially the Mac, it was Smokey and Cheesy all at the same time!! Yelp
Went with a large group of friends on a Wed night. They did a great job accommodating our group and getting everyone's drink orders and menus. I tried the 8 oz prime rib and changed the side to mac n cheese - LOVED it. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just as ordered! Had to also try the Italian creme cake and wow, yum! Overall had a fantastic meal and good service and am looking forward to going back again.

Yelp
This is a go-to for us. We live nearby, so when we are in the mood for a French Dip, this is our spot. Absolutely delicious! Order it with provolone, for the full sloppy yumminess. Also a side of horseradish sauce for the kick! Everyone is friendly, never had bad service, food comes out swiftly and delicious, every time. That in itself is amazing. The half-sandwich is filling by itself, you can split the whole between two people for sure. Absolutely love coming to this place, can't recommend the French dip enough. Bon appétit!

Yelp
Didn't know what to think of this restaurant .it has sports memorabilia on the walls but not a sports bar. It has Cajun food and Italian food. I started off with a sangria and it was so good. Had a small cup of gumbo and it was honestly the best gumbo I've eaten since living in Texas. I decided to splurge on calories and get the meatball sub. Bread was fresh and soft, cheese was melted on top and not super messy with sauce. The star of the dinner was the prime rib. Haven't had it this rare since I was living in San Diego. Our server Oscar was amazing. Best service I have had In awhile. Will definitely when I'm in the area

Yelp
I've been to Laurenzos a number of times and each time I go, it is always a pleasant experience! The wait staff is always attentive no matter what time of day you go. They've even helped me order some off menu items! While the menu is extensive, you just can't go wrong with any type of prime rib. My favorite is the prime rib quesadilla. It's definitely big enough to split! Always, always leave room for dessert when dining at Laurenzos. The strawberry pie is to die for! It has a white chocolate coated crust that is the perfect amount of sweet!

Yelp
Reminds me of my favorite restaurants in New York and Philly - two of the best places to eat in the world. High quality food and service, casual but classy ambiance, genuine hospitality, diverse clientele, crafted cocktails, this place just hits every note. A classic! It's not cheap - but well worth every penny.

Yelp
So I came back in and tried the prime rib in house. WOW. It was so tender. So flavorful. So delicately delicious. The au jus was just the right amount of salty and savory. The bread was warm and soft. The drinks were delicious and came quickly. The service was welcoming and spectacular. I would recommend coming into the restaurant in order to give the food the full experience. Im very happy I gave this place a second chance and will be returning again in the future.

Yelp
What really stands out to me every time I come here is the service. The waitstaff are incredibly attentive and professional. Every single time I've been here, the service has been top notch. The prime rib and filet mignon are both terrific although the portion of the filet is a bit small. All of the pasta dishes are fresh. The menu is fairly comprehensive so there are plenty of choices and the prices are fairly reasonable. They have a full bar and and a good draft selection. The atmosphere is sort of little Italy in NYC circa 1983. It's warm and inviting and overall, you can't go wrong here - it's a solid choice.

Yelp
They have a good menu with upscale choices above the normal Tex-Mex items. Parking was convenient, service was good. This was particularly loud right at the dinner hour when it was full, so those who have trouble hearing might have reservations about it. Lots of sporting events on many TV's caught my attention.

Yelp
They have everything! The menu is very extensive. Service was alright, nothing to write home about, but the food was so good we didn't care. Very interesting vibe inside. Think sports bar meets fine dining.

Yelp
What a top notch place.. My boyfriend and I visited there last week. The atmosphere is cozy and service is awesome. The food selections were great and a lot to choose from. I chose the fajitas which were tasty and seasoned well. My boyfriend chose a fish dish that was Devine. The owner came to table and introduced himself and enlightened us on the business and where business come from. I enjoyed talking to him and knowing the history of business. Thanks for the great hospitality, good food and wonderful drinks.

Yelp
Ask for Beto, I think he's the chef but he's usually out on the floor greeting customers. Very wholesome gentleman, compliments the vibe and represents Laurenzo's Restaurant exceptionally well. Food is delicious, I never finish a plate! Would recommend this place for breakfast (served weekends), lunch and dinner to any Houstonian or tourist in town.
