Absolutely love the food here! I’ve been many times, but this visit was extra special because of our waitress, Gamze. She was so sweet, attentive, and truly amazing at her job!! She went absolutely on top of her way to give us the best service ever. Gamze really is the BEST waitress ever and without a doubt, she deserves a raise!! We really hope to see her again💖💖

Hayden was great—very attentive and friendly. The staff overall was welcoming, and the food was delicious. I didn’t realize they had closed for a while, but happy to see they’re open again. The ambiance is really nice, and the hookah was excellent. Definitely recommend!

Aygul helped us out today and the service was fabulous. The food was delicious and hookah flavor recommended was spot on! Awesome service. We got the Serrano Burger, lemon pepper corn, guac, and strawberry mojito.

Cozy and warm atmosphere, inviting and aesthetically pleasing space. Customer service here is usually good, busy hours can cause a delay at times, but generally good service. It’s usually pretty cold indoors so bring a jacket. Heaters available for outdoor/patio area for cold weather days. Food is a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great, and sometimes it’s not. I’ve had luck with the lava pasta being consistently good. Sadly, some beef and chicken items have caused some nausea and upset stomach at least twice, so I tend to stick to the drinks or pasta there now. They have private rooms that can be reserved if you’re trying to have a party or birthday event, and public seating is available for casual get togethers too. Ultimately, nice versatile place for a night out. *Place is temporarily closed due to a fire that broke out abt a month or two ago. Ran into some of their management and was told they expect to reopen around June-July if renovations aren’t delayed.

Stopped by this Mediterranean restaurant the other day. Falafel was decent, but could’ve used a bit more flavor to really hit. The mango salad was super refreshing tho. They’ve also got a ton of hummus options, which I always appreciate, and the cauliflower was surprisingly tasty. I went in just before the buffet kicked off, and by the time I finished, the place was packed…clearly a popular spot. They’ve also got an outdoor seating area and a hookah section if you’re tryna chill a bit while you eat. Solid spot overall, especially if you like variety and a lively vibe.

My friends and I came here to dine to celebrate her birthday. The restaurant atmosphere is alright. I requested a non-smoking room, but they put us in a smoking room. The restaurant's front lobby has a beautiful design. However, the dining room is plain. Their Mediterranean food tasted alright. Their service was very good and friendly.

Amazing experience at LAVA Restaurant! Fulla was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. She made our dining experience truly special. Highly recommend LAVA and especially request for Fulla!

Okay so my 5 stars are valid lol Service is about 8/10 Food is so good ! Didn't expect that chicken shawarma to taste that good 9/10 Ambiance is 10/10 .... So pretty . Even the bathroom is like instagram worthy. My only con is I didn't know you can smoke cigarettes in hookah places lol obviously it's nicotine but the smell makes you wanna get up and go as soon as someone flames up . I also think if kids are allowed the cigarettes should be lit ONLY outdoors . A couple cake day by me and and some kids and lit up . I wasn't even smoking hookah . I left an area to get away from it . I think they should have a no cigarette zone for ppl who can't take it .

I am sitting inside for lunch as I write this. Service: There wasn't much. I asked for a physical menu and she gave me a bit of an attitude. A different waitress ended up taking our order because the first one never came back until after we ordered. We took our time ordering too. Most of the waitresses ran about and were MIA. Not a single waitress checked up on us after we got our food. It is worth noting that as I write this there are about nine other tables. I even asked for new silverware and the check several times to many different employees before one finally figured it out. Yes, the silverware was dirty. Atmosphere: It looks good from afar but a bit too gawdy. They're trying too hard to look fancy. After sitting down and getting a closer look, every seat and couch is filthy. Everything has stains, the silverware had fuzz on it and was severely scratched. The furniture and wares were either bought secondhand or they brought all of this stuff from a previous location. Food: I got the lava pasta and the rest of my party ordered a chicken shawarma and a beef shawarma wrap. It isn't anything extraordinary. I have had better food served out of food trucks in Sugarland and off of Hwy 6. They served the pasta first and the other two dishes came out 10 minutes later. Why didn't they wait to bring out all three? We also ordered a cheesecake to-go that was to be brought out at the end of the meal. Again, no waitress checked on us at all after we received our food so there's no way she could have known to put it in the system. Payment: We reminded the waitress who took our order about the cheesecake. She said that she was waiting for us to tell her when we were ready for it. She never checked on our table so there was no way for us to tell her or any other useless waitress and also gave us attitude when we asked about it. We waved down two other employees only to be acknowledged and forgotten during the course of our meal. The bill comes out to $75 for three entrees. There was a $3 charge for a salad that was a side to one of the shawarma. There was a $7 up-charge for grilled chicken for the other shawarma. We didn't order grilled chicken! Also, for a party of three an 18% tip was automatically calculated in. So we were already forced to tip for probably one of the worst services I've ever experienced.

Disappointing experience for a number of reasons. My friend and I came here last minute because Haze was unexpectedly closed. We should have read the reviews first. The food was not very good. The burger was basic and nothing better than you'd get at McDonald's. My friend's beef kabob was tough and hard to chew. They seem to be rationing ketchup because I got a small container enough to spread on my burger, but none left over for my fries. By then the servers had disappeared and I wasn't able to get more ketchup until I was nearly done eating. When it was time to pay they brought a credit card machine to the table and told me my total. There was no receipt and I didn't even know what I was being charged for. When I asked about entering the tip, the server in a very complicated way told me there was a tip added automatically (no idea of the percentage), but I could add more. 1. I hate places that automatically add a tip without telling customers especially for 2 people only. If I didn't say something no one would have said the tip was added already. 2. After paying the server just left. No receipt. Nothing. This is a shady business practice. Frankly, it's giving scam. I'd like to know what I was paying for, but no one even offered a receipt. This alone would ensure I never came back here, but the food and service wasn't great either. 3. Oh and they don't give tap water. The only water available is upcharged Fiji. There are too many hookah lounges in Houston to deal with them. Skip this one.

I love this place! I prefer to come here during the day over night time. During the night it's a little crowded and service isn't as great as during the daytime. I like to come here and study and get some work done. Great food and drinks are refreshing! Food tastes fresh and hot every time!!!

Something new and different for this mexican right here. This used to be Sherlocks pub back in the day buts got a nice renovation and its allot bigger now. We received friendly service, and we were seated right away since we chose indoors. The huge outdoor patio seating is the place to be on a cool fall weather night. awesome fruity drinks ( non alcoholic drinks) We tried a little of everything so the food didn't fit on our 2-person table. The server brought us some chairs lol cause it was packed on a Friday night. For dessert we had the lava cake, and it was amazing. This is a Middle Eastern restaurant, and so are its patrons and staff. Hookah and regular smoking is permitted indoors and outdoors. Did I mention there's no alcohol served? Valet parking is $10 and its the thing to do, trust me.

I really like it here. I'm honestly sad I didn't dine in. It's super nice inside. With really nice outdoor seating too. I ordered my food and went in to pick up and was pretty surprised by the place. The parking lot is covered with security cars. And the food is really good. They also give you a lot of pita bread too. I personally liked the food here and would definitely come back especially for items I didn't get to try.

Ive passed this place a couple times now and it always looks packed at night, so me and my group decided to come here to just chill. I came here a couple years ago when it was a churrasco so it was nice to see how they renovated and decorated the space; super nice. Such a great place for big groups. We got a shawarma and thought it tasted delicious. Service was great; super friendly and attentive. Definitely could see myself coming back here in the future!

This restaurant/hookah bar is super chill! The food is excellent and the hookah is top tier. You can smoke inside the cafe or outside on their spacious patio. People are in work meetings, working solo, and having leisure group outings! It is definitely a hidden gem in public view right on Westheimer before the beltway!

I am such a fan of this place. Service is great. Food comes out hot and fresh. Not to mention fast. Don't get discouraged by seeing the place full because the food still comes quick. Highly recommend the lamb chops. Ambiance is always such a vibe.

Come here for the **vibez**. It's a cute place, very aesthetic and insta worthy. The skylight made it feel like an airport, large and airy. We stopped in for a quick lunch during a work day, which I actually prefer because it wasn't busy. I don't do hookah and actually am kind of bothered by it, so thankfully we were able to sit a little further away from it. It's not like la pasha or other places where you have to sit outside to be far from the smoke. Although I will say it was a plus that they had a little playground outside for the kids. I don't know why they didn't put the turf on the whole area and only did a little patch, but we used it for a bit before leaving and it was fun enough nevertheless. The chairs and outside area is really nice. The food was good, but not going to lie- there's better in the area. I wouldn't get a shawarma again, but I would get the grilled plate again- it's hard to mess up unless you over cook the meat. They had apple 3 horses which I was happy about because it's my favorite, and tasted the virgin Pina colada and it was really good. The service was really good and made up for the small portions of food. Overall would come again! Parking was free during the day.

I went with my friends for the first time today and it was superb! The food was great we went for the Ramadan buffet and there were couple of options from appetizers, to entrees, dessert, and drinks. The ambiance was excellent great vibes and the decor was so relevant with the Ramadan theme. There are different options to sit we chose the patio and it was wonderful! The service was amazing too overall 10/10 experience and I'm definitely going again with my husband. There's valet parking so there's no trouble parking too!

A few coworkers and I visited Houston for a conference. We ate dinner at Lava Lounge the first night we were there. We went in for the food not the hookah. Everything we ordered was delicious . The service was good. They had plenty of veg options. The ambience was lovely decorated with cafe and twinkle lights.

I came here for a dinner with Parekhs Enterprises and it was a 10/10. Very enjoyable and clean space. Great atmosphere and food! Our servers were also very respectful.

To start off with, just pay the vallet to park your car. Otherwise, because the lounge is next to Bennihana, you're out of luck when it comes to finishing a close parking spot. The vibe of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We had a reservation so we were sat immediately. We were a bit confused with the waitress situation because there isn't one waitress assigned to a certain section, so you can place orders with any of the waitresses. We opted to eat outdoors which was a bad decision because it was pretty chilly and they didn't have their heaters evenly spread out so we were shivering the entire time. They have a playground for kids but with hookah and hot coals all around it kids running back and forth I'm surprised there haven't been any accidents. The service was pretty fast considering how busy it was. However the food was pretty mediocre. We ordered their corn, spicy fries, and hummus which were all just okay. My friends and I ordered variations of their chicken, lamb, and shrimp. I can only speak to my food but the chicken was very dry and the rice wasn't the type of rice I was expecting. We had lava cakes and ice cream for dessert which were very decadent. Overall, I would probably sit inside to avoid the kids and probably just order hookah and appetizers.

Visited this place for the first time this weekend and couldn't have been more impressed. The service, food, ambiance and hookah are on point. Nancy and Khalid were so sweet and accommodating. We ordered their Chops, rice and garlic potatoes. We enjoyed our trip here and can't wait to be back for round two. Definitely recommend Lava Lounge.

Giving one stars is being generous if I could give zero stars I would. I visited LAVA yesterday night with a large group of about 30 professional ladies for a mixer. While our waitress Maria was delightful, professional, friendly and very attentive throughout our visit it was the front host staff Nancy who totally ruined our experience. Nancy pulled our waitress away from our table for about 10 minutes and was scolding and yelling at Maria in plane view of us which made our group of ladies uncomfortable to the point we had to go get a manager to advise that Nancy behavior was disheartening. Upon leaving the restaurant one of the ladies in the group mention to Nancy that her behavior towards our waitress could have been handled in a private setting and it was not a good look for our first experience there. Nancy became combative and argumentative and I quote "Don't tell me how to do my job" Food 6.5 out of 10 nothing to run home about. I ordered lamb chops, garlic potatoes and rice. My garlic potatoes were over cooked. My mocktail was horrible and to milky in texture. I will never be returning and will also be writing a Google review, Facebook review, Tik Tik story time review, and Instagram review about Lava and how Nancy the front door hostess acted.

Our Go To spot! No mandatory valet like the other shisha places. And the bestttt spicy hummus. Shisha is always 10/10

Food was good. Big patio area if you smoke hookah. Indoor decor needs updating and more ventilation from all the hookah smokers. Had to find a waiter to bring us water and serve us but once we were served the waiter was more attentive. Might come back again.

Our group of 30 ladies came to Lava Lounge from different states to celebrate sisterhood, but sadly, this experience was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. While our server Maria was kind and attentive, things took a bad turn when NANCY, the front desk host, came over and started berating Maria right in front of us. Her behavior was shockingly rude and completely unprofessional. It honestly felt like she was bullying Maria, repeatedly scolding her in plain view of our entire group. When I spoke to the manager about Nancy's behavior, it didn't seem to make a difference. As we were leaving, I politely told Nancy she could've handled it better, and instead of showing any professionalism, she became combative and argumentative. It was clear that respect for customers or staff is not a priority here. The food and drinks were average at best--dry, bland, and nothing special. The mocktails weren't impressive, and the hookah burned out quickly due to the excessive coals. Needless to say, we will NEVER return to Lava Lounge. Service like this, especially from someone as nasty as Nancy, ruins the entire experience. With so many other places to enjoy, Lava Lounge is off our list for good.

Really enjoyed the customer service, and the food exceeded expectations. The lamb chops were the highlight of the night. Definitely would recommend and will be returning. Ask for Gamze she gave great recommendations and hospitality.

My dearest sister came across this place on Tiktok, and I must say what a find indeed. We came 15 til 1AM, looking for a good hookah and convos.. at arrival it was scarce of people, but nicely set up. Aesthetically pleasing, and the music was loud to hear but low enough to still converse. I fell in love with my mocktail-- tasting freshly made from the pineapple. My sister enjoyed her espresso martini as well. I'm very picky when it comes to hookah as i know the drawbacks, however the one served here tasted clean and soo smooth even with extra mint. I ended up trying a lamp chop for the first time, and our fries califlower as appetizers. Both so delish and paired with our drinks wonderfully. All n all, sister night went so beautifully after we stumbled here. Definitely a hidden gem, but well worth it if you're looking for something other than club scene.

I liked the vibe of Lava Lounge. You don't have to valet if you don't want to & it's tips only. I went during Ramadan and since I don't observe I didn't feel like I should partake in iftar. Because of the buffet, they weren't serving food so I'll have to come back another time for their full menu. Ordered tea and the kettle didn't stay hot very long--they also gave us plastic straws instead of a spoon or stirring stick. But hookah and service were pretty good. Will add to my rotation of hookah chill spots.

The vibe of the place and decor was great! Food was wonderful, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma with the mango salad and rice. I also got a pina colada cocktail. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

Lava has great interior and a lot of seating both indoors and a small space outdoors. We tried some of their food, and we liked their Arabian champagne, chicken sliders, lemon pepper corn, and their sampler board. Their Arabian champagne was one of my favorite mocktails in awhile, and the lemon pepper corn was really fresh and tasty. I'd definitely go again to try their other drinks and appetizers. @dfweatshalal

sat outside and patio was nice but it's Houston and it's super hot and their umbrella was broken so we were very hot . play ground for kids was a plus but the fans they have don't really help. First thing is they don't have water for you to drink unless you purchase it by the bottle. I understand this if it was a high end restaurant but it's a hooka lounge w average price food. Food was meh we ordered a chicken and beef swaha wrap and they were just standard nothing flavorful . fries are standard and garlic potatoes are just average too. Food was just average tasting nothing to come back to: Keep in mind it's a hooka place so they smoke inside and outside so if you're a non smoker keep that in mind. Service was starting out bad bc no one came to our table of 17 until i had to get up and waive someone down . Even then the server she was average but was nice enough to give us separate checks. The annoying part is when i questioned the tip she didn't say anything she didn't mention they automatically charge 18% (i understand it's service fee) they don't print out the recept it's all done on a pad and they stand there waiting for u to sign it and go. so i basically gave them 38% tip. Servers are sneaky so be aware! I hate when establishments aren't up front !! i'm not going back there are so many other places w better food n service. (there's a service fee 18% and plus your expected to add tip on top of that so expect and extra 40% to your tab) (food wasn't great so didn't even take photos of it)

This place has amazing food. The falafel, spicy hummus, lamb chops, salmon, spicy fries, lemon pepper corn, the berry refresher, champagne spritzer and espresso martini was alll 10/10. The sauce that comes on the lemon pepper corn was chef kiss . Gamze is the waitress that you should get, she will give you all the best recommendations. She is great!

Eman was an amazing host. Friendly vibes and good food. She fixed the hookah several times .. black pepper corn was amazing. recommend this place!

The Ramadan Buffet was wonderful today! Definitely will be coming back since the customer service was phenomenal! Can't wait for the next time I'm there:)

Honest review: I tried for the first time Lava 3 years ago. It was awful. Today January 13th, we order hummus (really bad) costco hummus is miles better. Pita bread horrible. (See picture) we have to order 4 times pita bread to complete eating the awful hummus. We waited 10 minutes for the first time to get a server. We decided to just pay and leave straight to La Pasha. The ambient is great, the restaurant is so so nice but food is awful. If you want real mediterranean food go to La Pasha. . .

I was here last night for a friend's birthday party. As soon I took my seat I had a server ask me if I wanted to order anything. We ordered a couple of drinks. We had just eaten dinner at a nearby restaurant so we weren't really looking to eat a large meal- maybe just some drinks and snacks. The server said something to the effect of "that's all you're going to order? We told her yeah, and if we wanted to order more we'll let you know as we were planning to be there for a few hours so we wanted to see how it goes. Another server "Stephany" came by & asked us to order. We told her we already put in an order and she again asked if we wanted to order additional items. We told her no not now and if we wanted to we will tell her. She kept pestering us several times in less than an hour to order more- until I ordered onion rings. She had a rude attitude, super pushy but would flirt and smile to the male guests seated next to us. I watched her interactions and body language with other guests of the party and she gave them better service (probably because they ordered main courses). Later when we told her we wanted the check she seemed annoyed and gave us our total with the same rude attitude. I don't know if the servers are trained to be this pushy but every restaurant/ lounge l've ever been to l've never experienced such terrible service. I don't mind spending $ and tipping extra if I'm pleased with the service. I also want to mention the entire left section of the patio was reserved for guests of the party so it's not like we were taking up space. I was extremely turned off by the entire experience and wanted to leave but only stayed because of my friend. I should also add that I am pregnant and I requested from my friend who hosted the party to not be seated next to hookah smokers- which she tried her best to accommodate me however the restaurant allowed hookah smokers not invited to the party to be seated at the next table and in our reserved section. I probably would not come back due to the horrible service, disorganization regarding parties despite the nice ambiance and decent food (from what I tried).

I have been sitting for about 20 min and the waiter still has not came around the customer service is not it as I'm typing this it's already been about 35 min. inside environment is so crowded and the ambiance is not relaxing I was actually looking forward to the new management unfortunately I was disappointed, last thing to add was the entrance rug hazard it's poorly placed and folded , my Inlaw tripped on the rug while walking

Very disappointed. The staff is extremely rude and management didn't even give us the courtesy of coming out to speak with us. We arrived on time for our reservation and were told, despite having requested beforehand, that they would not be able to accommodate us with a non-smoking area. We had driven 20 miles with a baby and were fasting expecting to attend their Ramadan buffet which was advertised as family-friendly. When we asked the staff why they did not notify us ahead of time they were extremely belligerent in their response and said they were currently calling, despite the fact that it was our actual reservation time. The host said let me get the manager for you, and the manager did not come out. How do you conduct yourself in this manner and say you are hosting Iftar?

The worst service in the entire Houston. I literally had to wait for like 50 minutes for my hookah to get refreshed and get tea. Tea was served after 50 minutes and no one even bothered to serve sugar. I had to ask the waitress multiple times. All they would say was we are understaffed and that was so not my problem. Food was average

The service is great, they are renovating the place and I believe it should be great, the food is good. I have tried the lamb chops. I will visit again.
