Antonio Park Opens Thai Restaurant Kwai in Westmount, Replacing Lavanderia | Eater Montreal

"Once Park’s parrilla restaurant, Lavanderia was centered around Argentine-style grilling after opening in 2015; it was knocked out of business for over a year following a major fire in late 2016, and although it later reopened it remained in operation for little more than a year and a half before closing at some point this summer." - Tim Forster

Google
I've been using Lavenderia since they took over the route from another dry cleaner and have been really pleased with their service. Kosta is super nice and extremely esponsive whenever I give him a call with any issues. I would highly recommend them

Google
I have been utilizing Lavanderia for the past 6 years as well as the many residents of the Strada234 Community. They have done an excellent job and we have never had an issue. They are in charge of cleaning for our top notch staff. Try them out!

Sandy P.

Google
Lavanderia has been doing our families dry cleaning for years. They make it easy with the pick up and drop off. Have never had a problem and always friendly service.

Google
This is the best place in Boston for your dry cleaning and other services. They are family owned. Go!

Yelp
You cant beat the wash/dry/fold service. Staff are very friendly. Great value. Everything is perfectly folded and sorted. You can drop your bags off in the morning and they will be ready for pick up that afternoon. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Long time customer. Great service and turnaround time with preserving my wife's wedding dress.

Yelp
They say your wash/dry/fold is only as good as your fold. And by they I definitely don't mean "me, today, putting away laundry folded so exquisitely it might be considered origami except laundry origami is so impractical and ..." Anyway. After years of meh "uber for laundry" services and months trying to figure out how anyone in Charlestown without a washer/dryer gets anything done, we decided to go local. This has to be the most pleasant time spent not doing my own laundry I have experienced to date. My whites have never been whiter! My socks have never been matchier! Can I mention the folding again? It's just ... *chefs kiss* Mark the driver is a dream to work with! And all at an incredibly reasonable price that rivals most coin-op setups! Highly recommend setting up your first pick up over the phone, though, and calling in the earlier part of the day. Once it's set, though, you're on your way to not having to just refold it all anyway so you may as well have just rented a car and gone to Somerville anyway. Thank you, Lavanderia.

Yelp
Excellent service at this local neighborhood self wash and dry, drop off wash and dry and fold, and dry cleaners. I've lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and have dropped off my laundry for wash and dry and fold service since I moved in. They do an amazing job getting everything clean, smelling amazing, and folding and sorting the clothes so everything is organized and ready to be put In my drawers. It's like Christmas morning once a week! Staff here is sweet and friendly and always accommodating even if I drop off 2 big bags (15 lbs) to be picked up after work. Love this place and the service. Affordable too! Definitely get your laundry done here. If you want to bother with quarters and doing it yourself, go ahead. The machines are good. The service is great. But I tell you, go fill service! They work hard for it and do a great job!

Yelp
My friend's review was deleted by some reason, so I am kindly posting it here again, because this service is awful, and I also had very negative experience with ruined shirts. Here is the review: 'They completely ruined 2 items. I asked for a very simple alteration - enlarge armholes in 2 tops and narrow down one of them in the waist area (I specifically asked not to narrow down in the chest area because otherwise it would get to tight). The order took more than 2 weeks (even though it was supposed to be one week). They apparently used inappropriate sewing machine and made HOLES everywhere around the armholes. It is ridiculous because it was regular cotton fabric and I have never had such problems with any alteration service before. Additionally they didn't narrow down in the waist, but instead did it as a straight line starting from the top of the chest what made it impossible to wear this top because it got too tight in the chest (apart from the multiple torn holes which they made and which are unamendable) (and they didn't narrow down the waist!). I noticed it only at home and just had to dispose of these two new tops which I liked. Thanks. Never again.' P.S.: please don't delete this review, we will post it again, because the service is truly terrible!

Yelp
Confused why anyone would write a bad review about this place! Rosa is so helpful and kind and does a great job running her business. Same day drop off and pick up, drop my clothes off on way to work and pick up after work to everything sorted and folded PERFECTLY. I don't have many pricing points to compare it to as it's my first time using a service but it is very fairly priced for how great of a job they do & their overall great customer service! I recommend this place to all of my friends in the north end!

Yelp
the ladies that work here are so sweet. Everything is well maintained and their dryers leave my clothes soft & fluffy every time

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. I use them for their wash, dry, fold service - so that is what this review will be for. Their prices cannot be beat. I have lived in the North End for almost 3 years now and have tried other places out but none come close to this place, quality AND cost wise. If you bring your stuff in the AM they will have it ready by the evening. The service is always pleasant too. Go here!

Yelp
I was going to write my first list titled GTL (Gym, tan, laundry for you non-Jersey Shore folks) but then I realized I haven't been to a gym for over a year, I don't tan (because I'm a pasty white Englishman). However, I do know about laundry :) Ever since I left home I have done my own laundry, from laundrettes, to the days when I owned my washer-dryer. But I always missed the days when my laundry would magically clean itself. One minute it was strewn all around my bedroom floor, the next it was washed and folded and in my wardrobe. Thank you laundry fairy. Somehow, when I moved out of my parent's house, so did the laundry fairy, except we went in different directions, went our separate ways, not to meet again - until now! I can officially announce that the laundry fairy lives at Lavanderia. It may not live in my bedroom anymore, but heck it's close enough. I drop off a big garbage bag full of dirty clothes and magically within a day the laundry fairy has washed, ironed and folded all of it. Like all good fairies you have to grease its palm, but at a dollar a pound it's a sweet deal, beats the tooth fairy hands down!

Yelp
As a concierge for the city of Boston, I highly recommend not using this service. They have bad turn overs, misplace items, often do not show up to scheduled pick up locations, and poor customer service. I have had to deal with this company directly and indirectly for many years. Their service has gone down to the same quality as Bush and Dependable Cleaners in the Boston area. All 3 services are trash and a better Services to look into that have great quality work and are reliable services that provides tailored customer service for each individual client is Fresh Touch Cleaners and Columbus Cleaners!!

Yelp
I was using Bush cleaners and they never seemed to really get spots or stains out and just didn't do a good job. The concierge in my building recommended lavanderia and I'm so happy they did. This dry cleaner gets all spots and stains out or dies trying! And when I left a note on one sweater that my prior cleaner had ruined it they not only got the stain out but didn't charge me for it! Great turn around time for pick up and delivery. Prices are reasonable and they do a great job

Yelp
I have to admit that when looking for a new dry cleaner (not laundromat, shoe repair or some other service) because my experience at Lavanderia was a tad bit less than sucky I felt kinda lucky that I used them and not some of the other dry cleaners around the city. Looks like they all kinda are of a low quality. Now I would be lying if I said that Lavanderia enjoyed me as a loyal customer because they certainly did not. At least it wasn't the feeling I got from them. No warm and fuzzy reception when I told them what they could do with the shirts their dry cleaning RUINED. Wait, maybe she didn't understand me because she was on the phone talking in a non english (no, not Jersey Shore) language making arrangements to something I wasn't invited to! So I told her louder because we all know that if you speak louder to someone that doesn't understand you they then begin to understand you, NO? I thought she understood. I went across the street to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Lo and behold when I returned back to my home, a knock on the door, not one BPD officer but two in two patrol cars. Yippee! They were very nice public servants bringing my perfectly stained for a homeless shelter night out dry cleaned shirts back to me with a note not to return to the cleaners. GLADLY. I gave them two stars because I have experienced better. I prefer State Troopers invading my home with my laundered goods than Boston Police officers that were stupid enough to accept my dry cleaning from Lavanderia in the first place. I think they even left a shirt behind.

Yelp
I love the service I get here. The staff is always friendly and happy to see me. I drop off my laundry and it's always done on time and folded perfectly. I've also used their dry cleaning and tailor and was very happy with both.

Yelp
Prices are NUTS for dry cleaning. $14/dress?? $7/sweater? Christ for that money I could drive to Allston, get my cleaning done there, come back AND have money leftover for Regina Pizza. Not to mention they won't call you to tell you your laundry is done, the cashier refuses to look you in the eye or communicate, and I wasted a good 20 minutes while she struggled to enter my very basic information. Avoid at all costs. Better off driving 20 minutes away to find a dry cleaner that understands the concept of speed, service, and price.

Yelp
They lost and did not reimburse me for three dress shirts. I tried several times to follow up with management and they did not make an effort to resolve the issue. Very disappointed and do not recommend them.

Yelp
This place is literally steps from my door, so I gave them a try. It took 7 days to clean my 5 shirts, charged much more than others in the area, and didn't seem to care when I told them that others in the area were faster / less expensive. I went back another time to give them a chance, assuming they were just backed up the last time, and this time they dropped it down to 5 days. After 5 days my clothes were not ready, I went back the next day. I'll taking my business to Hanover Cleaners.

Yelp
Lavanderia has delivery (pick-up/drop-off) wash dry fold *and* dry cleaning. This is why I use their service. Of all the places I have tried (Husky Express, Bush Cleaners [no delivery], Zoots), they provide the best value for the service. From Bush and Husky, I've had clothing returned to me ruined. Also, Lavaneria uses detergent that doesn't make my skin itch. That is a big + when some of these places use harsh commercial grade detergents.

Yelp
Prices are reasonable, staff is very friendly. I have been going here for 10 years and would highly recommend them to anyone in the North End. Wish they took credit cards, that would be my only complaint.

Nick V.

Yelp
Rosa is wonderful. She addressed concerns I had with the results of a problem caused by Lavanderia on a dry cleaning job with class--responsive, understanding, friendly, and fair. 4 stars out of 5 because I'd rather have not had a problem to begin with but Yelp says 4 stars means "Yay! I'm a fan" and that's absolutely the case. Thanks!

Yelp
They got all the stains out of my dresses! It was a three day turn around but I was not in a rush. I would absolutely go back. The girls were very nice.

Yelp
Excellent place and highly recommended for both dry cleaning and wash, dry, folder. Employees are very pleasant and very helpful.

Yelp
I've used their pickup/dropoff service for 13 years. I leave laundry bags at apt concierge desk, and pick things up a day or two later from the concierge. Easy and convenient. Most of the time the laundry works out fine. Brand new socks disappear immediately, but the old ones keep coming back. BIG problem is the SMELLY detergent they sometimes use. I'd say 80% of the time they use non-smelly detergent. But 20% of the time I can't wear my T-shirts because of the strong smell.

Courtney G.

Yelp
I'd like to preface this review by stating that I rarely take the time to write negative reviews--I usually just cease patronizing a business if I have a bad experience there. Lavanderia's customer service is so abhorrent that I feel I must share it so others won't waste their time and money there. I took a pair of boots to Lavanderia to get repaired (while they do specialize in dry cleaning and laundry, they do advertise shoe repair as well). When I brought the boots in, I indicated that I would like the heels replaced, the toes buffed and a hole fixed on the bottom of the right boot. They quoted me $41 for the repairs, which I felt was rather expensive, but I agreed to it since I wanted the boots to be wearable again. About two weeks later, my husband picked up the boots and brought them home. When I looked in the bag, I noticed that the hole on the bottom of the right boot had not been fixed. $41 for an incomplete job--not good! I brought the boots back and spoke with a woman who acted like I was being completely unreasonable for bringing back the boots. She said the heels and the toes were fixed and she refused to make eye contact with me (she even looked at the woman behind me in line in an effort to make me feel like I was holding up the line). I handed the boots back to her and said that I would be calling the next day when the manager was in (she was not there at the time). When I finally got a hold of the manager the following week (she was out for a few days and their phone lines were down), she was even less sympathetic and even more rude than the women I had dealt with when I brought the boots back the week before. She said that the woman who took my order should have noted that I wanted the bottom of the right boot replaced (i.e. the hole fixed) and she didn't so it wasn't fixed. I said that I paid $41 for an incomplete repair and I would have appreciated a phone call to clarify the order if fixing the hole would have cost more money. The manager rebutted that her notes stated that someone did try to call me and I told her that was completely untrue. I told her that I was disappointed that I was charged a rather exorbitant price for an incomplete job and I wanted either my money back or a discount for a complete repair of the boot. The manager refused to accommodate me and insisted that the job was complete since the heels and the toes were repaired on the boot. Please take a look at the picture I took of my boot upon picking it up. Does that look like a complete job to you? Lavanderia charges high prices for shoddy work and they have some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Please heed my advice and take your business elsewhere. Note: I ended up getting my boots fixed at Beacon Hill Shoe Repair. Vadim (the owner) was awesome and did a great job. I now take my dry cleaning to Fleet Dry Cleaner in the North End. They are super friendly and their prices are lower than Lavanderia's.

Stuart R.

Yelp
Live right around the corner. Not the fastest place in the world, but they are fair and do a good job.

Jacob V.

Yelp
Had a terrible first time experience here. While I don't even think they clean the shirts well when they do do everything correctly. I would say my experience could be summed up just following one of the shirts I brought them. I purchased a brand new shirt online from Jos A Bank and while it didn't need to be cleaned I figured bringing it here would help make it crisp and professional. I arrive the day of the pickup listed and luckily caught that there was an added stain they made on this brand new (never worn) shirt, not to mention that some of my other items weren't ready yet. Of course they blamed me for showing up in the afternoon. They took the shirt back to remove the stain as well as several others, all listed to be ready for pickup on Saturday. I show up over the weekend to be told that they must not be ready yet and I should call the next day. I call only to be put off another day so that they can try to talk to the owners. Finally I speak to the owner only to be told that they lost my clothes and are looking for them. They find all of my other shirts except for the brand new one later in the week and when I ask if they can do anything for me considering this is a significant part of my work wardrobe that was lost for a week! They refuse and force me to pay full price with no form of compensation other than a half sorry from the owner. It was obvious the woman working the front desk was way more sympathetic and helpful than the owner ever was. A few days later they located my new shirt and then proceeded to give it to me after it was clear it had been wrinkled from the trip over and could of used a serious touch up. While I can't say anything was damaged or lost forever, it was apparent that they acted like they were the only cleaners in town and no matter what half-a**ed job they did you'd keep coming back.

rebecca k.

Yelp
This is a great spot...the dry cleaning is reasonably priced and prompt...whether you are doing your own wash or dropping it off the service is great and it is always super clean inside. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpfull.

K M.

Yelp
Great wash and fold service. Cheap, quick, and everything looks great. (This review is just for the wash and fold. I would not recommend the tailoring)

Mel C.

Yelp
If you're gonna do a drop off and pick-up I'm sure that's fine but if you're gonna have them transporting your stuff (including your wedding dress) in one of their vans I'd choose another option. I've seen the drivers smoking cigarettes while transporting the clothing around (all hung up nicely in the back....in the see through bags). I'm sure that they're a great mom and pop company but I'd make sure that they're not smoking in the establishment as well.
