"If you stop a Fairbanks local on the street and ask them what the nicest restaurant in town is, chances are they’ll say Lavelle’s Bistro downtown on Second Avenue. It’s a very chill fine dining house serving some of the finest plates in all of Alaska. The waiters wear ties (a decided rarity in Fairbanks), the wine selection is probably the best one for a couple hundred miles in any direction, and the menu uses as much Alaska-grown produce as possible. Both the lollipop pork chop and the roasted duck are worth every penny, and diners can expect plenty of solid vegetarian and gluten-free options as well. Look for it on the ground floor of the Marriott Hotel." - Kris Farmen

This is not an establishment we frequent, however we thought we would go on Friday night. In the past (a few years ago when we last went) we needed a reservation, we made a reservation for 4 people at 6:15 pm. To our surprise there were not very many people dining. We knew this was going to be an expensive dining experience. I wouldn't mind paying those high costs if the meal was outstanding, the service over the top and the atmosphere top notch. Which was not the case. The atmosphere- we were sat under a speaker playing obnoxious loud music. 4 of us larger people put at a small round table, (which had seen better days). We were behind the host stand (near the window) where all the young servers/hostess were "hanging out" munching on goldfish and having a good time. Way too many people on staff for the amount of customers in the restaurant. Our server was fine, older man who was working hard. I personally found the menu to be confusing. The portions to be small and completely over priced for what you get. I will enclose photos of our meals. The steaks were fillets, due to them running out of the one we ordered. We asked for medium... They were cooked medium well, but they ate them just fine. The beef tips were delicious, I would prefer my bread not be in the juice, on the side would be less soggy. The risotto was not as good as my previous experience, especially for the cost. The risotto cake under the steak was not a hit either. The side salad was a nice portion & quality. We did order cheesecake to go, because we heard it was amazing. Honestly Costco's taste better. It will be a long time before we try Lavelles again.

We recently had the pleasure of dining here for Valentine's Day, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The entire evening was well-organized, fun, and incredibly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who were clearly passionate about providing top-notch service. Our server was attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. For dinner, I had the honey apple halibut, which was cooked to perfection with a delightful balance of sweetness and savory flavors. My husband ordered the risotto, and he couldn't stop raving about how creamy and flavorful it was. Both dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was romantic and cozy, with soft lighting and tasteful Valentine's Day decorations that added a special touch to the evening. It was the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. It's a fantastic way to celebrate special occasions, enjoy delicious food, and create lasting memories. We left with full hearts and satisfied appetites. Five stars all the way!

Really delicious cocktails, great service, and tasty food! Great spot downtown for a nicer meal. Huge selection of wine as well.

Google
The service and staff were excellent but we didn't enjoy the food unfortunately. I ordered the specialty ribeye steak, but it was served without any Maillard reaction, meaning the Steak didn't taste like a steak and it didn't have a crust at all. It was similar to a Souse Vide steak that wasn't properly seared or an Oven prepared steak without searing, similar to reverse searing gone bad. The fish was cooked good and tasted good, but the apple sauce didn't feel as it belonged, it didn't connect with the fish. The calamrie just didn't taste good and we couldn't complete it at all

The food is delicious! And the service is outstanding. I had the Alaskan scallops, raw oysters and the beer battered Halibut. Each dish was prepared perfectly! I look forward to coming back here one day!

Service was friendly and good. Tried the Alaskan halibut and Alaskan scallops. First time having both and they were great.

This is one of the most pleasant experiences I had in Fairbanks. I totally ran into this place and it was a great surprise. Everyone in this place perform their duties with excellence. The food was amazing and so the drinks. Service in general is 10+ I recommend you to stop by even just for a drink.

Disappointed in my recent visit. I’m a frequent traveler to Fairbanks and have dined here several times. Usually, this restaurant was reliable for quality and service. This last meal left a lot to be desired. Took 15 min to be greeted by server for my drink order and the food (steak frites) came out cold and tough (though ordered medium rare) with soggy fries. Yuck. It obviously had been sitting for a while. I should have sent it back but was too hungry by then. I was also given a napkin with a hole in it - not a great look for a ‘fine’ dining establishment. *Edit: I forgot to add this - while I was there, a gentleman, who appeared to be the manager, cussed out a server about a mistake where multiple tables were close enough to hear him. Mistakes happen and, as the saying goes, public praise, private candor. As a patron, we should NEVER hear waiters (or anyone!) getting reprimanded - what a poor, poor look for a manager.

Yelp
Food are absolutely amazing!!! My favorite are the lamb racks, baked Brie, and Panna cotta. They are very busy and run out of a lot of food choices when we got there, but what we end up ordering are still delicious!! Make sure you call a few days ahead to make reservations! They are very busy every day. Wait time is kinda long since they are super busy. Waitress is very nice, not super attentive because they are soo busy, but regardless, she's very nice! Lamb racks are super juicy and tender, definitely a must try here! We wanted to order cream brûlée but they run out, so we had Panna cotta instead! Panna cotta is super creamy and delicious, if you like milky flavor, u must try this!!

Yelp
Amazing! Outstanding! Wow! It's in a Marriott Springfield but don't let that stop you. It's truly outstanding. We never thought we'd find a restaurant like this in Fairbanks Alaska. You would find a restaurant of this quality in San Francisco or LA. The food was great and service fast and caring. It's all about caring. We had the king crab legs and steak. Both were perfect. Yes, I come back to Fairbanks, I hope they are here still. The ambiance is quant and well lit yet perfect. Come and enjoy!

Yelp
Came in with a big party of 7 very last minute and they were able to accommodate us! We ordered the Flatbread and Calamari for appetizers. Both were relatively smaller portions than what we expected for the price and wait time. On top of that, the Calamari wasn't even fried. It was soggy, which was very unappealing. For entrees we ordered the Crispy Duck Salad, Grilled New York Steak, Lavelle's Chicken Champignon, the Halibut and Beer Battered Halibut. Again, the portions were quite small for the price of each meal, and the Chicken and Steak were extremely dry when they came out. They offered to recook my Chicken and it was delicious the second time around. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes. We ordered the Creme Brûlée and Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake for dessert. The Crème Brûlée was very runny, barely holding together, but the cake was pretty tasty. There were a ton of dirty glasses lined up along the side of the dining area which was a little unseemly. Overall an okay experience. The server was so nice and patient with our large group which was very appreciated!

Yelp
Heads up, the entrance to this place was through the hotel, follow the signs outside. It has a nice ambience where you can sit and watch people in the kitchen in action. We had a large party and tried a lot of things on the menu. I had the vegetable lasagna and it was delicious but not warmed up fully so that would be something to improve in the future. My friends had the oysters and calamari and liked them. A couple of people had the salmon and really liked the sauce that came with it. The special pasta with manila clams was pretty good too. Services great, we were able to flag someone down wherever we needed it. Highly recommend the warm bread with butter, it was delicious and we couldn't get enough! Espresso martini was okay, a bit watered it seemed.

Yelp
We've gotten To Go here and when Judy's seeing clients this is her favorite restaurant to entertain them at. We love their Prime Rib & Honey Apple Halibut. This trip we did just soup and appetizers. We started with cocktails Judy had the Black Walnut Old Fashioned a fav of hers and me my double Makers Mark with Soda Water. Halibut Chowder was their soup of the day so we split a bowl. Then we quickly followed with the Crab and Artichoke Dip. Both excellent. The next appetizer was so good we ordered it twice! The Bourbon Street Shrimp! Blackened and perfectly spiced so paired well with its brandy lobster cream sauce that combined with the crostini was absolutely delicious! But the best part of the meal other than the food, cocktails and ambiance was our Tahlia our server! Out of this world great! We could talk with her about local food haunts, fresh farmers markets, seafood and drinks all night! If you get Thalia as your waitress you're in excellent hands!

Yelp
This restaurant is a gem in downtown Fairbanks. Best downtown patio!!! The food is quite good. We ate meatloaf with mashed potatoes and trout on risotto cake. The chocolate lava cake was delicious. They have an extensive menu. The service is responsive. The bartender was very attentive when we ordered drinks to take to the patio (the second night we visited). Even though the host wouldn't seat us on the patio for dinner (because he didn't have enough staff), our waiter served us dessert on the patio. (Might check with your wait staff if the host won't seat you on patio. There were several tables eating on the patio even though we were told they wouldn't serve us.) We highly recommend as a downtown destination. Don't be put off that it's attached to a hotel.

Yelp
Do not eat here. The food is awful. Over cooked Over priced Imitation calamari!!! Not cool You've been warned.

Richard O.

Yelp
Prime rib is amazing. They were busy. Always love the atmosphere. Server tried, but I finally got me second beer after my meal was done. Other than that it was great.

Yelp
Awesome server. Terrible management and shitty food. The new owner Robin is awful has zero customer service skills and treats guest like nuisances when the restaurant is in the wrong.

Yelp
We come up every year and stay at SpringHill Suites. We choose this establishment because it's convenient to have a nice dinner and cocktails at the restaurant that is in the building. The food is usually decent. Tonight they had a big party, so we figured it would take a bit. Our see Hannah was great and so was the busser. I had one Belvedere martini, one! When we got the bill they charged $26.00 for ONE martini! I guess they are under new ownership since we last had drinks there. Seriously, wtf! It's not a craft cocktail, it's straight vodka shaken. I pay that on the strip in Vegas at a fine diner! I can get a whole bottle at Brown Jug for I'm $33. Never again! We gave grace the over cooked rack of lamb because they were slammed. The new ownership whoever they are, have no clue!

Seth L.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with friends. They have bar like seating area and booths as well. The menu is diverse with specials to choose from. We started the spinach artichoke dip which was good and flavorful. Also had the Brie cheese that tasted AMAZING, highly recommended! For entree I tried having the prime rib special which turned out to be an end cut and wasn't able to be cooked as medium. Our server was able to swap it out with the delmonico special. For me there's a bit too much cheese on there so I had to scrape off some of it in order to make it more enjoyable. The meal also came with salad or soup and I went with the tomato bisque - delicious!

Yelp
Wonderful experience, wonderful service, wonderful food. A splendid job by all.Food was excellent, staff was perfect; it was all just well done. What better way to spend a late Sunday afternoon then sitting and watching sunlit 2nd Avenue, with good food and accommodating staff?

Will Z.

Yelp
lamb chop decent size but it was burned so there is a bitter taste, and beside rosemary no other flavor of their lamb chop, 2 finger size strips of daily special steak and 2 mini potatos cut in half.. only 4 slices of free bread ... over priced...

Vikki S.

Yelp
Not sure why Lavelle's gets such good reviews. It has a lively atmosphere but the food is basically slightly elevated bar/diner food. Very mediocre and not worth the price. The calamari was weird (like fried calamari sticks) and not like traditional fried calamari. The 7" pizza was too thick and doughy, and my medium-rare filet was overcooked and barely warm (I think it had been sitting out awhile waiting to be served.) Though it was tasty. My cosmo (ordered light on the cranberry and light on the lime) came out too pink and too limey. It did not taste like a cosmo. Lavelle's is an option in town for dinner but it is far from fine dining and is overpriced for the quality you get. It also took a long time to receive our entrees.

Janrose S.

Yelp
Definitely call to make a reservation as they're constantly full for the night, but you *might* get lucky and get seated within 15 minutes like me and my mom were! The food was delicious, especially the seasonal chili (though it was a little spicy for my mom but perfect for me). We both got the filet mignon: I got mine medium and my mom got hers well done. Unfortunately my mom's came out medium rare so we had to let the server know, but he was super apologetic about it and quickly got us another one that was actually well done. When we got the bill, we saw that he had made the two cups of chili we got complimentary to make up for the steaks, which was kind of him. Overall, I can see why this place is constantly packed: delicious food, a nice ambiance, and nice servers. The food does take a while to come out, though, so consider getting appetizers and drinks to help sate your appetite and be prepared to be there for at least an hour, even as a party of two.

Joe S.

Yelp
Overall a subpar experience for the price. This restaurant (located within the Springfield Suites) in downtown Fairbanks is one of the busiest restaurants within the town. Always expect to find this restaurant busy, a little noisy, and service that can run a little slow due to the crowds. For the price, I would expect a lot better, and there are better options just within walking distance of Lavelle's. Expect to pay at least $30 for an entree that only tastes average and doesn't offer anything unique to the food platte. While here, I got the pork chops and my wife ordered the chicken. Both of our dinners were nothing special, and each took over an hour to arrive at our table. Recommend you go somewhere else in the area.

Grace P.

Yelp
lavelles served some of the most pathetic $30 scallops i've ever seen. the duck salad was on par but woof. don't come here.

Alex B.

Yelp
Bourbon Street shrimp slap so hard. Shits are fire. I wish I could drive from California right now for these!

Kaitlin B.

Yelp
Came with a party of 7 and was pretty unimpressed. +good bread and butter +good calamari -overcooked salmon -undercooked shrimp -insanely salty food. And I love salt. -slow service Not the worst meal ever, but slow service and mediocre food - definitely not worth the price.

Denise C.

Yelp
Bar staff was amazing and number one reason for the 3 star review- friendly engaging bubbly and informative! Definitely took care of everyone and kept a great vibe! The food.... I was here just over a year ago and had the most amazing pork with apple dish ever.... So I have this honey apply halibut a try and was quite disappointed! The fish was flavorless the apple dressing was good but not great and the asparagus was both raw and burned the bottoms burned the rest so raw it was hard to cut. If the food had been as good as the service this would have been 5 stars. Sadly I can see why this place has dropped off the must eat at list for Fairbanks- it can't compete with some of the other innovative places. And at the 43$ price you would like to be way more impressed.

Bianca J.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance here are one of the, if not THEE only, best in Fairbanks! The food has been good consistently every night that we went and we always looked forward to going back. The Thai Spice martini is to die for and the steak is great quality. Service was always great and the employees are very attentive. Highly recommend this place and make sure to make reservations ahead of time to ensure you don't have to wait long.

Gitta B.

Yelp
Device is great. fills up quickly after 19:30 jade the crispy duck on field greens with goat cheese, husband had the alaskan salmon provençal in garlic soup. Great wine selection

Alexias F.

Yelp
**NOPE! I give this the 2 stars, one for the amazing service we received at the bar and one for the Caesar salad. The Alaskan King Crab (20oz for $99) was so salty & briny I couldn't eat it, I try Alaskan King Crab every chance I get and this was a low quality product. The claw was so small and at least a disappointing 8oz was the claw joint, personally my least favorite part. It was disappointing compared to the Pump House the night before (20oz for $125) which served a giant claw and NO heavy joint meat. The pork chop special was undercooked and tasteless even after getting it cooked some more to the appropriate temp, the sauce on it was so mealy we scraped it off. I would go back because it had a wonderful atmosphere and to try the bartender's recommendation of the Bourbon Shrimp dish which I regret not getting but I'm a tourist and did not want to pass up the chance to have Alaskan crab in Alaska.

Pattie B.

Yelp
We were excited to try what we had been told was the best restaurant in Fairbanks, if not one of the best in all of Alaska. When we arrived for our reservation, we were promptly seated. The server informed us that their computer system was down and we would need to pay cash. We assured her that was fine. We ordered drinks and perused the menu. Several other tables were seated around us. The server brought our drinks and then disappeared for a bit. She honestly was totally flustered by having to write her orders down and then relay them to the kitchen. When she returned, we ordered salmon for me and a pork chop for my husband. We didn't see her again for quite some time. The tables that came after us were served and finishing their meal. We finally flagged her down and she assured us that our meals would be done shortly. The other tables left before we got our food. The hubs was edible, but mine was a dried out overcooked piece of fish, left under the warming lights way too long. After an animated conversation with the server, I told her to just take the meal off the bill. What should have been a nice meal on the last night of our two week trip, was a disaster because the server couldn't function without technology.

Maggie H.

Yelp
2.5/5 We dined here because my sib said it was the best place in town and the festival going on didn't have anything we could eat. There's really no great vegetarian options on the menu so I ordered the fried fish with fries - with the portion size it was well overpriced - everything was! It was good but not filling. My sib let me know that the prices were normal for the area, I didn't realize AK was so expensive! My mom got one of their little pizzas and it seemed OK. My sib got the beet salad which barely had any beets in it. We dined outside since there were a few spare tables, indoors was also very open despite there being plenty of people around.

Eric B.

Yelp
This review is for the Bar only. Lavelle's is connected to the Springhill Suites hotel, but is not affiliated. Gayle and I stopped in for drinks (including carrying wine up to our room) after arriving from the Fairbanks train station. Bar service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Looking around the room and subsequently walking most of Downtown over the next couple days, I can understand why this could be one of the nicer places to gather in this section of Fairbanks.

A S.

Yelp
Great friendly and attentive service. Comfortable atmosphere reminiscent of an Italian restaurant. The food is more American fusion and a bit on the pricy side but well worth it. We had the figs with prosciutto appetiser special, lobster cakes, lemon caper scallops and pork belly entree. It was superb. Not a bad bite to be had. I would happily go here again and highly recommend it.

Jill R.

Yelp
I've never had a bad meal here. The food and the service are outstanding from then moment you walk in. I can't find a bad menu choice. Try the spinach and scallops dish!

Tara R.

Yelp
We ate dinner at Lavelle's on Sunday (Father's Day). We did not have a reservation but were able to snag bar seats. I had the meatloaf dinner with a side salad. The meatloaf could have used a little bit more gravy but other than that it was good. My husband had the halibut dinner. He cleared his plate so I guess that is a good sign. The bartender was training a new employee behind the bar. She felt the need to tell everyone it was her first day which was probably unnecessary. I think she wa super nervous but seemed to be doing fine and asked questions when necessary. This restaurant seems to be one of the popular ones in Fairbanks. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend.

Beth M.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years, however first we sat by the bar to get dinner, which I don't recommend, there were 2 of them, took them forever to get our orders, and took 45mins to bring our food, I asked the younger bartender about our food, his answer was " oh the expeditor will bring it here." I asked him do you want me to asked them. A minute later the food arrived. Must be sitting just the Warner for a bit. To add insult to injury, the roasted pork belly was so hard and there's no fat in it, this is reason I ordered them all the time because of it. The food was so dry, presentation was awful, seems like they have a new chef and change around stuff, I think I'll skip this place for the mean time

Candy A.

Yelp
We came here a few days ago. Our family is visiting and in Fairbanks on vacation for Christmas. We read this was the nicest restaurant in the area so we booked reservations. To say it was bad is an understatement. We had 2 older kids with us and their order came out first which is fine but we waited over 20 minutes for 2 more orders to come out (there were 8 in our party) The rest of the food didn't come out for 45 minutes after 4 people were done eating for a long while. Keep in mind the restaurant was not overly busy. The salmon we ordered was super tough and overcooked, the rest of the food lacked flavor terribly. After the final meals were served we were STILL waiting on an appetizer which I cancelled because we were full and ready to leave. Our waiter never checked on us to see how our food was and even after complaining about the wait we didn't receive a discount of any kind. This was honestly a joke of a restaurant! Needless to say we don't recommend it and won't be back.

Tlynne M.

Yelp
We made reservations here for Valentine's Day and had a pretty disappointing experience. The only good parts about it were the appetizer (Burbon Street Shrimp-YUM!), the bottle of wine, and the exceptional service from our sweet waitress, Clover. Other than that, it was pretty sad. We both ordered steak dinners. My husband got the 16 oz. New York, which was overdone and tough. His baked potato was crunchy and pretty shriveled up. I ordered the 8 oz. filet mignon, which was also over-cooked and not tender at all. The risotto pancake served with it was inedible; it was burnt and had the strangest, tangy flavor. All in all, it was pretty disappointing for a $200+ meal. My husband joked that it was the most expensive piece of jerky he'd ever had. We shared a creme' brulee for dessert, which was okay but nothing special. We were excited to try Lavelle's and have a nice Valentine's Day dinner, but we were not impressed.

Drew G.

Yelp
One daughter ordered Mac & Cheese for $21 the other ordered the kids Alfredo for $7. They were the same dish but a few flakes of orange cheese on the $21 dish. Both were cold along with cold veggie lasagna. The flatbread was good. Just not a great experience for the price.

Tram T.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was exceptional!! We forgot his name but he took care of our table, he's in his late 60-early 70s maybe? But with excellent customer service. He was sooo polite, nice, and attentive to our needs the whole time. I would rate the food 7/10 but the service from that man was 20/10!

Joseph V.

Yelp
Compared to prior visits the food flavors were not as special. We found a piece of plastic wrap in one dish. Service was good. The wine list seemed identical to 6 mos ago.

Anthony R.

Yelp
I must say that it was a treat to be at such a solid bistro. The wait staff was good, it wasn't a very busy day and they were sure to make sure we had the time we needed to make our decision. This business is in a hotel the front desk people also are happy to help you if you are not a guest there. The portions were not too big but not too small. But the food had great flavor. The steak was cook to my request, medium. The shrimp had good flavor and we're not too small as well. The mash and asparagus rounded out the mean. Sadly, I didn't have room for desert. If I ever return to Fairbanks this will be worth a 2nd visit to try something else.

Yelp
ZERO STARS. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES!!! 9/30/22. I was visiting Alaska for the first time, and I was celebrating my 35th birthday and my one year anniversary. My boyfriend had made reservations the day before and had explained to the person on the phone, multiple times my food allergies. We were running late to reschedule. They accommodated. Our server, was a middle aged Caucasian male. I asked him questions about the menu, and explained to him my allergies. My boyfriend also explained to him my allergies and even gave him specific names of examples of alcohols that I am strictly to avoid. Our server wrote these down in his notes. My boyfriend told him to double check the reservation since he had gone over the food allergies with the person over the phone when he made the reservation. We also explained that he did not need to course our food. 20-30min or so later we get our drinks and appetizers. They were actually really good. I drank about 3/4 of my drink. I have chronic gastritis and dyspepsia. This means I cannot eat any stomach aggravating foods such as oranges, spices, caffiene, and particular acids. have been on medications since 2016. I can take a bite of an orange and be sent to the hospital. 55min later we have no entree. Our server then asks if we want more drinks. My boyfriend explains that he already did order another drink with his food. My dog was waiting to get picked up so my boyfriend asked the person at the expo line where we were on the tickets and he said "I don't know. I don't normally work here." He then told our server to hold our food and keep it warm when it is ready since he had to step away for a bit. 5-10min later, our food comes out. I then ask our server, to put it aside for a bit until he comes back. He says nothing brings it back to the expo line where they ask him what's going on and he said "I don't know" in what seemed to be a frustrated manner. I call my best friend to explain to her what's going on, and for some strange reason, my stomach starts hurting so bad and I start to sweat from the pain. I was going over with her what I ate and everything seemed appropriate. The only thing that I questioned was possibly my drink; even though my server strictly told me what was in it and said there was no oranges or anything that I could not have in it. Our server brought our food back and it was wrong. My water was never refilled in 45min. When the manager arrives, my boyfriend and I explained the course of the night and the lack of service provided. The manager explained that this is a "fine dining" restaurant and "no disrespect to you guys" but meals here take a couple hours. He further explained entrees come out at around 45minutes because this is a "fine dining" restaurant. I asked since it's fine dining and they took over an hour for my entrees, why were they done wrong. He replied "well it's seems like it's just an easy fix." We then proceeded to question why his staff member at the expo line did not know what he was doing and provided a rather unacceptable answer when asked a question. He explained that it was very busy. In regards to our server he explained that they usually get 6-7 tables on a busy night. I replied that well, if this is fine dining as you say, why wasn't my water filled. The manager explained that maybe he gave my server too much for that night. My boyfriend, who manages restaurants, questioned why a fine dining place would have a server cater to so many tables. The manager explained that that ratio was normal for them. Which makes me wonder how anyone gets "fine dining" service at a place where there is no service? After getting exhausted of hearing how they were such a "fine dining" restaurant, I proceed to ask about my drink. He proceeded to tell me one ingredient, then the next and then some type of liquor and explained that it was a BLOOD ORANGE liquor. I explained my allergies and the manager explained that the server probably didn't know. I explained "So you know because you are the manager and should know?" He agreed. Then my reply was "Well, if this is fine dining, shouldn't your server know and be educated on what they are serving? Furthermore, we told him to double check the reservation, which means he didn't!!!" The manager explained that he was unaware that there was an allergy he should be aware of on the reservation. We asked for the owners business card. To have someone repeatedly tell me that they are "fine dining" but still POISON ME? You have got to be FU**ING kidding me. I would not expect this from a seasoned fine dining manager. He drops the business card on my table and walks away. I looked at the reservation list; there were no notes on it. I feel that any establishment, especially a "fine dining" one, should educate their staff on this importance. Allergies could create a lawsuit.

Yelp
This was a lovely restaurant. A bit on the pricer side but it is supposed to be a fancier dining spot so it's understandable. The ambiance is nice but it's not a formal affair kind of place. The food was good, but the best dishes were the appetizers surprisingly. We got the lobster cake, king crab & artichoke dip, and calamari -- we would rate them in that order. The entrées weren't as great, but not bad. The desserts were good as well. We would come back for a special occasion or to treat ourselves and try some different entrées.

Yelp
We waited for an hour. The drinks were terrible. All of them!!! The food we ordered were mixed. Weirdest calamari order ( they looked like fish sticks and the aioli was bland. My husband liked his halibut, my daughter liked her lamb, my scallop appetizer was very buttery, the shrimp salad was okay, Service was okay !

Yelp
What can I say but great! This is at the SpringHill Suites in downtown Fairbanks. I had the Honey Apple Halibut which was out of this world. Great seafood dish. Wife had the Beef Tips from the appetizer side of the menu with a side of mashed potatoes. Very rich in flavor and a lot of food. Dessert was the bread pudding offering and sooo good. Bar was very well staffed and offered plenty of variety.

Yelp
Establishment was busy but no clear instructions on where to check in to be seated. Service was great. Food was delicious. We ordered appetizers to share, did a wine tasting, and had dessert.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place. The staff where friendly, our waitress was very respectful, and very attentive. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the onion soup, the lamb chops, duck and the desert. The drinks were also good, the godiva martini is a most have. Everything was really spectacular. We recommend this place the ambience was great.

Yelp
In my honest opinion this restaurant is very expensive for food that is not the best. Let me start with the drink my girlfriend had. A dirty martini. It was $19.90 dollars. I don't pay that in New Jersey. What the hell???? Then the bread came to the table. 4 tiny pieces. That was it. The cedar salad was so wet that you could not taste the dressing. My main course was the meatloaf and it was ok. My mashed potatoes were ice cold. Honestly, we were told to come here. My advice is to stay away!

Yelp
This is THE spot in Fairbanks. We heard about it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and they seem to be up to the task of serving the ensuing swell. We had a great server (Hi Will!) and even better food. The wine list isn't too shabby either... The prosciutto crusted halibut has crispy edges and sits in a lake of buttery sauce and capers. Perfect single bite appetizer when split 4 ways. The scallops were in the same sauce and cooked perfectly. I got the apricot-brie pork chop and it was "stop talking for a minute" good :) The spinach and strawberry salad was also noteworthy, even given it's simplicity. Brian liked his prime rib and Matt's pasta was good flavors, if a little thin on the sauce. The vanilla-chocolate creme brulee was a good creme brulee, but the chocolate didn't really come through from the bottom. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Yelp
If I had to rate this place according to the ambience or cleanliness I would probably be only in the three star range (the tables, the chairs, the walls are nothing special, it's open seating and average looking (the place kind of comes off as dirty even though everywhere I looked was clean) it just feels dirty) but I have to say we were recommended to eat here I was disappointed that the YELP reviews were only three stars maybe 3 1/2 stars the menu is amazing and I thought that there's no way they can live up to this menu but not only did they live up to it they exceeded my expectations. The service is outstanding from Malia who brings you your water to the server Hannah to the young lady filling up our waters the excellent cocktails that were shaken up by the bartender I was truly impressed. This is attached to a Springhill - Marriott which makes it more surprising. I had no idea what I wanted to eat (like I said the menu is quite vast with duck salad, oysters, pork lollipops, etc). Hannah suggested the seared halibut as is and brought me a Caesar salad with anchovies and even a half dozen oysters. It was nice having a confident server that could make a recommendation and then follow through with it. I'd eat here again and again.

Yelp
Mmmm, how can I say this.... my 4-star is a comparison rating to anything else you could get from anywhere else in Fairbanks. If it's convenient, if you are easy to please, if you don't care to be wow'd, and if you're looking for a place with something for a group.....sure. Why not? This is not a spot I would write home about. Or, recommend really. But it isn't one I would say absolutely not to, either. They take OpenTable reservation. That's a win. They had groups, families, couples, bar and restaurant seating, a few tvs for game time, a street side patio, and a good looking amount of liquor options for Alaska. It's located in a Springhill Suites hotel. Which usually, I'd think, "absolutely not." But, it got decent reviews and the woman who owned the Airbnb we were staying in highly recommended it. In fairness, Fairbanks has next to nothing in the way of notable restaurants. If you're a foodie this town isn't your scene. But, for 'fairweather' (get it?) food consumers, this isn't terrible. The bar seemed to be a local watering hole. It had a busy vibe. Which after a year of Covid, it's great to just be with people. They had a decent bourbon list. The pork chop I ordered was prepared perfectly. It was juicy and a very good portion for the price. So, a great value. They accommodated my dietary requests my doubling up on my veggies versus the potatoes. Tasted like a pork chop should. Nothing inventive or creative. Your standard chop. The steak my dining companion ordered, I'm told was well prepared, too. To his liking, at the temperature asked and no complaints. It was also a decent portion. No going hungry here. Again, nothing creative or inventive. Pass on the crab and spinach dip. Not sure what to direct you to but this isn't worth the calories, or the money at all. No taste. Our server was lovely. We liked her a lot. She was attentive and she got our order right. She was willing to order the veggies for me- both for my meal and for me to have for the dip. Very sweet. And always appreciated. We were there for a birthday and they didn't offer a dessert to celebrate. I always appreciate when restaurants offer that. It's a nice touch. In conclusion, if you're looking for a lively spot spot for a happy hour and some apps..... why not? It seems like a good spot for that.

Yelp
It's what passes for a fancy meal this far north. Couldn't even guarantee all the halibut was fresh, although the server (Pablo was superb, BTW) did say the daily special of fresh halibut was indeed fresh. Wine selection may be advertised as the best in Fairbanks, and it is indeed respectable-- but it's also nothing special. Several examples I'd already had, having previously purchased off the shelf from my local Total Wine or BevMo... but to their credit pricing was also quite reasonable, less than 3x markup on some bottles as opposed to 5x or more at quite a few nicer places elsewhere. Rest of the menu was... eh. Baked brie was a bit too mild, especially after being baked, and salad is, well, salad. As far as COVID-19 safety, well, it's Alaska. Take that for what it's worth for your expectations.

Yelp
A complete shitshow. Waited over an hour for mediocre food. Wasted time and money. Revolting experience.
