The sight of endless fields of vibrant purple lavender is breathtaking, making you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale. It's a truly enchanting place that rejuvenates your senses and lifts your spirits. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape into a beautiful and serene lavender paradise!

This was a favorite spot of mine, and I’d often recommend it to friends and guests. It still has a wonderful selection of products, but they are now charging $10 to $12 a person to walk the lavender fields. I could understand a small fee, but that’s outrageous. I can’t recommend it anymore and doubt I will be back.

This place has been on my Long Island bucket list for a while and I finally drove past it today and decided to stop. It was a really cool experience and I highly recommend if you’re in the area. Maybe not worth the 2 hour drive from the city alone like other reviews are saying but there’s a lot of pretty beaches in the area and cool fruit picking fields to make a day of it. I found this place very cute and relaxing and it smelled AMAZING. Thanks lavender by the bay!

Google
Lavender by the Bay is a very specialized farm store which grows mainly one thing: multiple varieties of lavender. The plants they have are amazing and have lots of flowers on them. Their field of lavender with the showcase garden in the front is beautiful. They have lots of lavender products, books on lavender and gardening tools as well as plants for sale. I think the one thing that detracted is that in order to wander their field of lavender, you have to pay for admission. Still worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.

Lavender By The Bay, Calverton NY The lavender was in full bloom and the air was heavy with the fragrance of the flowers. A fantastic way to spend a few hrs with family and friends.

Unlike the other location, this one is run by young girls who were not at all accommodating. We unfortunately got delayed in our arrival and they were closing the fields in 9 min, and they STILL wanted to charge us $14 each (full price) to walk into a mostly not yet bloomed lavender, just so we could take a quick photo (there was just 2 of us), and leave, so instead we had to take a photo from behind the gate. The Marion Rd location is always friendly, has a beautiful gift shop, and is run by the sweetest elder women. Their fields are accessible and we've gotten there last minute before, and they'd let us in for a quick photo.

The aroma from the street is incredible, so many beautiful plants in Bloom. It's a bit of a purple paradise. Prices are so reasonable. People are friendly and knowledgeable and So sweet. Can't wait to go back.

Google
Wow. What a score. A farm devoted entirely to the Lavender plant. Who would ever think walking amongst the Lavender, even after the bloom, would be so enjoyable. The gift shop is stocked with everything to make the visit perfect. Watch out for the hens. They are everywhere and seem to enjoy the company of all the visitors that stop by. The sales help are very knowledgeable and can give you great insight on your purchases. Enjoy this establishment and make it a must-see. Overall, you can spend a few hours walking, sitting, and just slowing yourself down. 👍🏼👍🏼Puppy in the pictures did not make the trip.

Yelp
My recent trip last week to Lavender by the Bay was absolutely incredible! Before I even pulled my car in to park, I was welcome by the aroma of lavender permeating the air. I'll be honest.. I've only experienced the smell of lavender through things like Glade Plug-ins and incense (embarrassing I know), so I was totally blown away by and caught off guard by how much I enjoyed it. The visual of the fields is simply breathtaking. The vibrant purple hues stretch literally as far as my eyes could see. If you're terrified of bees, perhaps sit this one out however even with my fear of bugs, I was somehow in a calm, relaxed state the entire time. One of the highlights was their super charming lavender shop. The shelves were filled with an array of lavender-infused products and if you're anything like me, you'll be tempted to smell and buy each one. I bought a few oils for my mom and a bar of natural honey soap for myself. I'm excited to try it! If you haven't been to Lavender by the Bay just yet, do yourself a favor and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life already by coming here! Use this review as your reminder to add Lavender by the Bay to your summer bucket list.

Yelp
We just had to see all the French and English Lavender gardens. It was so peaceful with wonderful smells. There are relaxing chairs all throughout the beautiful gardens. The small gift shop has sachets, soaps, sprays, cards and of course Lavender. The price is $12 to walk around the fields, but taking lots of interesting pics, priceless.

Yelp
Lavender farms in Long Island, East Marion, New York. Such a beautiful place to grab some selfies and also some lavenders if you please. Such a gorgeous and wonderfully smelling place nestled near the beautiful wine country of Long Island New York. Must see, this place is. Especially when you are nearing this area of the wine country. Verdict - Lovely and memorable

Yelp
I've been a big fan of Lavender by the bay ever since I saw their outpost in the Union Square green market, where they sold various lavender products. Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit their original farm out of East Marion in the midst of the July bloom season. The farm itself is midsized and actually smaller than I expected for the entry price of $13 per person. I felt like it was a bit high since you don't actually get to pick any lavender, and there were no tours or other activities besides taking pictures. I think one can reasonably cover the whole farm in 30 mins, even though your ticket covers a 2 hour timeslot. There were definitely a lot of photo friendly spots. You can certainly get some good photos without a big crowd in the background. The website recommended wearing closed toe flat shoes because the terrain can be hilly and gravelly but I did not have any issues walking around in flip-flops. Parking is a small gravelly area directly outside of the farm and tends to fill up fast. I'd say arrive before 1pm if you want a good spot. Lastly there is a small gift shop with some great products. I picked up a bottle of lavender hydrosol, but would have loved to get a jar of lavender honey as well but it was unfortunately not available until the fall.

Yelp
Lavender by the bay in East Marion is a favorite in my family. I recently discovered that they also sell their beautiful products at farmers markets in the NYC area where I live. Last week I purchased several holiday gifts on their website; they had great holiday sale prices and the delivery was very easy (I even had to request an address correction and they were immediately responsive). I highly recommend!

Yelp
Such a cool spot and smells awesome!!! People are so friendly. A relaxing spot to chill for a bit. Pick up some form of lavender.

Paula W.

Yelp
Decided to come as a girls day hangout and the pictures on social media looked so pretty. We got there around 12:30 and it wasn't as packed as we thought it might be (maybe because it was 90 degrees and hot). Lavenders were in full bloom so it was pretty. However, warning- if you're afraid of bugs and bumble bees, gather up your courage for the pics or just stay on the path for pictures.

Yelp
Great stop for photos, hanging out, chilling with the chickens or kicking back in one of their shaded seating areas

Yelp
It was in the early July timeframe that we stumbled onto this sizeable farm growing Lavender plants everywhere. There were acres of purple fields with wandering visitors from all parts of the world taking snap selfies. The visual experience was surreal in some way since the Lavender purple farm seem to appear out of nowhere in a very peaceful setting. It was wonderful to be standing in this picturesque purple encompassing farm of Lavender. After being isolated for so long because of the pandemic, this was exactly what the doctor ordered. One could experience positive energy waves that projected themselves from the field of purple. It was just wonderful! Meanwhile, the lavender that has been cut is available for sale along with other lavender produced products. Definitely worth the visit especially before it once again becomes very crowded with visitors.

Yelp
Love purple? A cool place to check out if you are in this neck of the woods. This is a 17 acre farm with over 80,000 lavender plants. A nice place to take some pictures of the lush field of fragrant purple lavender. Make sure to check the website on when the lavender is in full bloom. That's the best time to go for the strong vibrant purple color effect, Otherwise you will see more green of the lavender plant, which is still nice but not as pretty. The best summer bloom is typically in June and July, which is also dependent upon how much it rains. Cool brightly colored adirondack chairs and loungers are scattered though out the fields, that make a great photo opportunity. For those that don't want to hang out in the beating sun to take pictures, in the middle of the field, there is a larger covered wood deck with bench seating. On the property is also a cute little store that sells a variety of lavender products. From live plants, cool t-shirts, little scented satchets, even lavender honey (seasonal and limited). Everything is lavender focused. Bathroom. They have a luxury trailer with several stalls plus running water and air conditioning. Final note: You might spend only an hour here so have some other activities in mind, for after your visit here. During prime bloom time, you might want to get here as early as possible, to avoid the crowds. Also there is a $9 admission fee.

Yelp
All of the photos are accurate. It has always been a photo op of a place because the lavender is so beautiful and it's such a serene place so I'll just give you the facts and tips on each location since I've been at both and that'll help you decide which one to go to. Land: The Calverton one is much larger than the one in East Marion. A ton more acreage and a few more areas to sit down than the other location. Animals: Both are dog friendly but the Calverton one has a chickens on their land so be mindful of that when you bring your pet. Giftshops: The prices are the same but the shop in East Marion has a physical retail shop that you can go into and houses more lavender products like lotions, candles, pillows etc. The shop in Calverton is just a roped in outdoor area in front of the lavender field that sells mostly cuts and has a smaller selection of retail products by comparison. It's less of a "boutique" experience. Areas: not one area is more scenic than the other. Both are pretty deserted and if you wanted to spend a day in the area, you'd have to drive elsewhere to shop or eat. The Riverhead outlets are nearby the Calverton location but also there's a cute BBQ shop a little more than 5 minutes away and a wonderful nursery that you can wander in if you wanted to continue a nature-themed trip. If you were in East Marion, depending on when you visit and what time, the neighboring places are closed pretty early or they don't open till later so the next best town to go to is in Greenport which is fine cause it's heading back West, so it won't be out of your way really. And they've got a lovely little village for you to enjoy before you head all the way back home. Hope this helps!

Yelp
Lavender by the Bay is an interesting diversion for about an hour or so if you're in the area. For many people, the main reason to visit this place is to take some personal and family photos in the lavender fields while they are in full bloom -- from about mid-June to early July. During these times, Lavender by the Bay charges admission to the lavender fields for anyone aged 12 and up: $9 on the weekend and holidays, and $7 on the weekdays -- plus tax. The farm has an air-conditioned trailer for its bathrooms. Do consult the farm's website for information updates on the best days to visit. Arrive early to minimize the presence of other people in your wide-angle photos. The lavender fields aren't actually continuous fields of lavender, but rows of separate lavender bushes. They weren't quite in full bloom when we visited in late June, but there was still enough to create the illusion that we were in a beautiful purple sea.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning! French and English versions available. Plants, dried, lotions & soaps. Fresh & local! Can't beat that!

Yelp
Finally I was able to come to this place. Been waiting since last year to wait for the Bloom. Check the website or sign up with email for updates on the bloom for the English and the French Lavender. This place is located alllll the way to the top of North Fork in Marion. Above Greenpoint. Be prepared that it will be crowded on weekends especially during blooming season. I mean - me and my friends weren't thinking that maybe we would miss the crowd if we went early in the morning but NOPE - it was already crowded by the time we got there . And it was worse when we left. Maybe consider coming during the week for better photo ops and a more relaxing visit. Otherwise - it will be hard to get good photos without other people in them , or sitting in the Adirondack chairs or even the line in the gift shop even tho it was fast. Entrance on weekends/holidays is $9 per person and $6 during the week. Bathrooms are porta potties. Lots of parking - gravel road . Also parking along the sides of the street opposite from the entrance. There are a ton of bees but we were told that they don't bother people and they were right. They are too busy all up on the lavender lol. Thank god I wore pants tho - I felt more comfortable. There are lots of gift options . Sachets , candles , pillow sprays. I was a lil bummed that my pillow spray was not that flagrant as sprays I've bought other places . I will use it but I was a little disappointed. You will spend one - maybe two hours here if you take you're time. Good advice would be to make a day or weekend out of it in North Fork. Hit some wineries - check out Greenpoint or Riverhead. Or go to Montauk. I would come back another time maybe if I was out here during the week. Nonetheless- I was able to scratch this place off my to-do list and it was definitely a plus for my weekend out in North Fork :)

Brenda F.

Yelp
After years of wanting to come here it finally happened this weekend. This is a cute place you want to come check out at least once in your lifetime. It's probably not a come back every year though. It's pricey for just walking through the field at $10 a person. It's definitely a nice photo op though. But I wish admission included picking out some lavenders like other fields .It was pretty and smelled incredible. You only really need like 15 mins to walk through really. The shop seemed cute but $$$. I am happy we checked it out though. It's definitely super cute.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday morning with a group of 5 people. Because of COVID-19, they have a limited number of timed tickets to purchase online. The times were 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. It's $12 for East Marion field and $10 for Calverton field. The East Marion field was larger (17 acres, 80,000 plants) so we decided to go there. You get a maximum of 1.5 hours. If you get there earlier, they let you in though. You need to buy it as soon as they release the tickets (week to week) or else it sells out fast. There was less people especially if you go earlier in your timeslot. We spent one hour here and it was enough time for us to take all our pictures. The store sells fresh and dried lavender but it was pretty pricey. There's no bathroom at the farm due to COVID-19 though. It's a bit far from NYC but it's nice getaway during COVID-19 times.

Laura C.

Yelp
Let me preface this: although living on Long Island, I'm not its biggest fan. Crazy, I know? But when I heard that amidst the endless vineyards that dot the North Fork, there was a sprawling, fragrant and absolutely charming lavender field tucked away... well, that may just swing my mind. Once I found out about the fields, I got online and saw on their social media that it was likely the last weekend the French lavender would be in bloom, so, with everyone else unavailable to trek out there, I made the drive myself and wandered around for about an hour in the fields. That's all I could really handle as my eyes got a bit itchy. So I suggest packing allergy medicine, just in case. This farm is charming and it's wonderful to see friendly bees hard at work. Lots of people were enjoying the stunning vistas and were just having a good time taking beautiful and silly Instagram pictures. Everyone just seemed at peace and it was nice to witness that. I bought 3 sachets and put one in my car, placing it right in front of my AC, so as I drove throughout the day I was hit with waves of wonderful lavender. I hope to return next year, earlier in the season and support again.

Tatyana C.

Yelp
Great place to visit. I had such an amazing time. Beautiful and peaceful. with the pandemic I look for safe adventures and this place was the perfect place. They sell a limited amount of tickets for the field to ensure that social distancing is implicated

Josh G.

Yelp
Lavender is a lovely color, but it's also a flower used for many things (you probably knew this). But did you know about the field of lavender being grown out on Long Island (maybe I got you on that one)? Regardless, it's a sight worth seeing, though be sure to visit at the right time. I say that last statement because my girlfriend and I visited Lavender by the Bay at the end of the summer. It was actually a great time to go from a crowd standpoint as it was relatively empty and gave us a more casual and relaxing experience through the fields. The cover charge for said fields was also waived (due to lateness in the season) which was a nice topper. The negative about the end of the summer? Not a lot of lavender. You'll walk through plenty of areas where you can check this Yelp page, Facebook, Snapchat (pick a social media outlet!) and see people wading through that flowery flower. But come towards the end of the summer, and things will be more scarce. There's still plenty of bees though so be weary of that. If you truly like your lavender it's worth the trip just to see some of what they've got growing. Plus, you can purchase several lavender-esque items (soaps, candles) as well as actual lavender (who would've thought!). We didn't get anything as we both learned that, though pretty, the smell isn't entirely for us (gasp!). Overall, Lavender by the Bay is a time sensitive spot to visit, but totally worthy of a trip especially if coming when the fields are filled. Despite that scent revelation, I'd probably return with my girlfriend just to get the full experience. Until then, I'll keep sniffin' lavender scents to see if I can grow more of a liking to it.

Ryna D.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place to visit but it gets so crowded on weekends! I was glad we visited the farm last season but I probably won't be back again. If you've never been I still recommend it but try and go during the week if you can. As for the farm store, if it's lavender honey you're after then note that they sell this after the harvest is done. You can also get it at Union Square green market.

Anin G.

Yelp
The ease of purchasing tickets, the cleaniness of the whole area. There isn't anything to not like about this place. It is beautiful and worth the trip.

Diane K.

Yelp
All I can say is the power of social media brought me here. There are some amazing photos people have taken here and with a bit of photo editing and filters, you have picture perfect. Came with my friends on a Monday ($7/person) and it was probably the best decision we've made. I can't imagine how pack this place is on the weekends ($9/person) during blooming season. The field would not seem huge when it's crowded and not all sections are open. There are different lavenders (English, French) with different peak times. We caught the second week of blooming French lavenders. The scent was incredible. It felt like the smell followed us back home. Bumblebees were spotted everywhere but don't be afraid because they are harmless. Tips for great photos: Lavenders are planted in long straight rows and some rows are close to each other. Find those narrow, tighter rows, then kneel down and have the photographer stand about 3 rows away from you, diagonally. Portrait mode or wide angle lens are recommended. Good luck!

Carolina G.

Yelp
Beautiful location, the fields are not blooming now but the smell of lavender still lingers. There's a cute little store with a bunch of lavender related items. May sure you go in the June or July that's when the lavender is popping!

Kimmy U.

Yelp
A huge lavender farm on the tip of North Fork. It takes less than 2 hours to get here from the city without any traffic. I wanted to come last year, but we missed the bloom, so we waited til this year. Make sure you check their website - they update daily on when English/French lavender blooms occur, so you know which weeks are good to go. It's usually around the end of June/beginning of July. We went the first weekend of July this year, and while there were a lot in bloom, there were a lot that were already harvested and scattered dead patches already. The window is so short! To be honest, we were all pretty underwhelmed.. especially with the $9 entrance fee. It wasn't that crowded when we arrived around 12-1pm. There were some crowds near the heavily bloomed areas, but it wasn't so bad that you couldn't take pictures ! It's a cool activity if you've never been to anything like it, but just be prepared for the whole farm to not be picturesque/in bloom. Afterwards, head to the shop where they have a bunch of lavender goodies to buy (oils, soaps, bouquets, etc). We came home with some dried bouquets that still smell good a few weeks out!

Tina C.

Yelp
Lavender is for protection and luck in Wiccan tradition. This review is based on shopping from their website. Unfortunately, I am unable to travel the long-haul day trip to eastern Suffolk County but their lavender can be taken to me in NYC. I love my dried English lavender bunches for $12.00 which was packed carefully well in bubble wrap and then wrapped in purple tissue paper to maintain the lavender theme. It appeared freshly cut amid its dried state but vivid in color and fragrant. Their website is limited in products for purchasing as I was hoping for body butter, lotion, shampoo, and night rejuvenate moisturizer, and facial toner. I wish I can visit their lavender farm to view their variety of lavender bushels from English to French. I would consume most of my photo SDHC card memory space from snapping at lavender. I need protection, luck and serenity which lavender provides.

Liz C.

Yelp
I recently purchased a bag of your lavender at the Union Square farmers market and already bought 2 more bags from your website. It arrived super fast, was packed eco consciously and smells absolutely amazing. Definitely my go to for dried lavender for my sachets!

Meri S.

Yelp
Pros and Cons - $12 to just walk around lavender fields and not get to pick any? - A lot of photo ops. - I didn't smell lavender in the air at all. Only when I rubbed some betwixt fingers. - The only things working were the bumble bees. Staff were on their phones the whole time and did little to add to the ambiance. - Enveloping purple color is just magnificent. - Only a small souvenir stand. - Pretty far out on the Island. Sorry peeps. I don't mean to disapoint but it isn't worth the trip. I was able to paruse the fields, shop at the little farm stand and take some glamours shots amongst the lavander in 10 minutes. I was so bummed because I was looking forward to visiting this place for a while. I get the "small business Long Island" and being expensive but there wasn't even much of an experience. Not a memorable time.

Doreen L.

Yelp
Lavender by the Bay is a a gorgeous fragrant lavender farm located on the north eastern most tip of Long Island. How to have a good time: 1) Come with friends. They make the ~ 2 hour drive (from Queens) pass by quickly and very fun! (Thank you guys!) 2) Come early. The later you are, the more you have to wait. In East Marion, there are two lanes of traffic and most of the traffic got worse when we were 3 miles from the Lavender Farm. We left around 10 am, got there at 1pm, with one stop along the way. The last mile took 10- 15 minutes for us to get through. 3) Park in the Lavender by the Bay parking lot. If the lot is full (which was in our case), park on one of the side streets. Make sure you read the signs for street parking. The one we parked on didn't have any parking restrictions. 4) Admission fee was $5. Bring cash. Also a fresh bundle of Lavender is $8. You should definitely get something. The French lavender was gorgeous and fragrant. It was so nice to bring back this bundle of beautiful lavender! 5) Check with LBTB's IG and Facebook page. Lavender season is 3-4 weeks in July. Plan accordingly. English lavender was shorter, had larger flowers and bloomed a brighter lighter purple. The English lavender was located in the south field, furthest from the entrance. Most of the English lavender was harvested. But there was fields and fields of the French lavender left. Gorgeous! 6) Enjoy! Take a ton of pictures. Expect a lot of people there (tourists and New Yorkers). Smell the aromatic purple shrubs and relax in the lounge chairs in the southern fields. There was no time limit, so just enjoy!

Janice C.

Yelp
We visited in the off-season, so there wasn't much lavender left in the fields, but I can only imagine what it looks like in bloom! However, we were still able to sit in the fields in the purple deck chairs and enjoy the sun and the clear blue skies. Will definitely be making a trip here next year so we can see the fields in their full glory. There is also a little shop where you can purchase goods made from the harvested lavender. Didn't purchase anything this time, but I will whenever I'm back!

Emily C.

Yelp
I've been here twice - once during peak season to stroll the fields, and, most recently, last week while out on the North Fork. Both visits were wonderful, and not at all crowded since I came on weekdays. During harvest season, the air is fragrant and the fields are vibrant with blossoming plants; it's a nice (and relaxing) opportunity to amble around and enjoy the setting for a while. They've also got a sweet little gift shop with everything from dried lavender bunches, sachets, lavender honey, and soap to tons of live lavender plants and fresh herbs. Last week, I purchased several pots of lavender (English, French) and can't wait to plant them!

Lucia D.

Yelp
Season is over but the incredible lavender smell is amazing. A bit of a drive but so worth it. I bought some English lavender for making tea and cookies. Much better than buying from elsewhere. They will soon have lavender honey. I can't wait to get some.

Gary F.

Yelp
A nice and inviting place to visit. Plenty to chose from when shopping in the barn for some lavender goodies.

Sansan H.

Yelp
The lavender smells so nice. In August, you can get the lavender honey. Currently, they only sell spring flowers honey. Please make sure you book your ticket online especially during the long weekend. The tickets sold out pretty quickly. We came on weekday and the field was pretty empty. We are very happy with all of our pictures

Doug W.

Yelp
Of course lavender has that pretty purple pigment, and awesome aroma, fantastic fragrance, piercing perfume... I'll stop the alliteration- What I love about the lavish lavender field is that they keep bees! Think of that naturally scented lavender honey! Yum. So anyway, the fields are nice to visit and take pix and all that jazz, but what grows and goes on there is more important to me. They've got both English and French lavender (yes there's a bit of a difference, but I'll let the sweet lady in the shop explain all that to you) I like to pick some up and dry it out, you can freshen up the room (I'm a straight male, ladies) with the sprigs in bundles; I also save and use the bits of lavender to brew some badass lavender and blueberry tea. I've added it to coarse salt, vanilla cake, and random alcoholic bevvies and it's always a nice light tough; just be sure not to use too much, it's a strong oil. Take a little and rub it between your palms, cup your hands and take a nice deep breath to get that robust, relaxing redolence (sorry I said I'd stop) They've got a shop full of lavender stuff not just a field to take your instagram selfies in and afterwards you can hit greenport/shelter island, some farm stands; make a day of it and migrate back westward with all the supplies to make a good meal and your lady happy. (I'm also available, ladies) Going out east has always been great and I'm super happy I discovered this place over the years, well worth the trip. If you buy a plant or at least some bundles you'll have plenty to do whatever your purple Heart desires. I suggest throwing some in some sort of sac, be it burlap, or linen: anytime you want a dose give it a quick squeeze n sniff. Pssst, Fellas: I enjoy how much women love lavender; so my dudes, keep it around the house just in case. Trust me. Take an interest in things us men wouldn't normally, learn to use it, it's a solid investment.

Melanie G.

Yelp
This place is exactly what I thought a lavender field would be like. I actually went to this place 2 years ago. But I just recently decided to start writing reviews. Smelled amazing. Looked amazing. And despite all the tourist (yes I know I was one too) I was able to get those Instagram type selfies. It was extremely hot that day. But totally worth it. My best friend and I were just driving along and saw this place on the side of the road. Decided to stop and we were pleasantly surprised. Very cute little gift shop. And the place was a great hidden little place. I'd recommend anyone on the area stopping by at least once in your life. :)

Marie B.

Yelp
Such a Beautiful Place. The beautiful adirondack chairs spaced nicely among the lavender gives the fields a nice relaxing touch. Among the lavender you will find bees buzzing, so please be aware and cautious. Running your fingers across the leaves, leaving the sweet hint of lavender on your finger tips is such a pleasant smell. They also have a shop with many items to purchase from lavender bunches, oils, sachets, and honey. Enjoy a great afternoon at this Lovely lavender field.

Yelp
Came here during the summer of 2015. If you are going during the end of the season, make sure to check the website to see if they still have lavender bushes because they do cut them to bring to farmer's markets to sell. The admission price they charge can be used as store credit at the gift shop. Make sure to save your receipt! It's hot coming here in the Summer, but there are a lot of bees around the lavenders. The bees don't bother you if you don't bother them. But if you want to be precautious, then wear long pants. The drive is quite long from NYC since it is all the way towards the Northeast end of Long Island. Should definitely make a stop at North Fork on your way. There are a lot of wineries along the drive that you can probably stop at.

Yelp
You really have to time your visit right, checking lavender by the bay's social media accounts to see when the lavender is in bloom. We came on a weekend that had the French lavender on bloom and the English ones had just been harvested. Still had plenty of photo opportunities! The field is pretty big with plenty of lavender to see if in bloom. Funny punny signs all about too. The entrance fee is $8 a person (during bloom season) and $1 goes to a local charity. They have a shop at the entrance with plenty of lavender things to satisfy your wallet's itch. Be sure to grab a $3 cup of lavender ice tea it's quite refreshing. Bathroom situation? Portapotties.. and for the love of god if you're visiting please FLUSH. All in all with a visit to the north fork for the awesome Instagram photos and the delightful smell of lavender. Another plus is after the field hit up one of the numerous wineries out there.

Yelp
Super pretty and instagramable!!! Love coming here during the season. It does get super crowded though, so I recommend going during the week.

Yelp
There are few things in our life that we love doing seasonally . Being in the fields whether fruits orchard , vegetables farm , flowers fields for whatever reason is one of the things I enjoyed doing most. For the season, being in this lavender fields was such a pleasurable getaway. This place is the only farm in the county that grows lavender. Gladly enjoyed its full bloomed lavenders. We went on the peak weekend. I heard that normally flower blooms from mid June to the first 2 weeks of July. Got to remember that for next visit. I was disappointed that there were only two kinds in their fields. The field is not that big as I am expecting. Oh well, I love what I saw, the French lavender. I was told that the English lavender which went blooming late June might have a second blooming on late summer. I would love to come back for that. The $8 admission is worth as you can get any item from their store in exchange of it, need to present the ticket to get credited. Each item is absolutely pricey. I ended up buying a bunch of lavenders for the amount and appreciated the maintenance note card they have included. I got carried away of all the merchandise they were selling that I bought an additional item for gifting. They closed the fields at 4:30 pm. We regretted coming in very late. My husband was not able to take much photos as he wanted. The good thing of coming in later for the day, we avoided a huge crowd , even got a parking spot right there by the gate. The place is about 2 hrs away from the city. Worth the trip as there are nearby places we visited after. The vineyard and the harbor. It had been a good day trip. I'll come back and bring along some girlfriends .

Yelp
This place is smaller than I expected. Fyi this place is very deep in Long Island and you have to have transportation to get here from the city. I came here twice and the first time the lavenders didn't bloomed yet (my fault for coming too early). There were very few people and they did not charge us for entering. It was more relaxing and you can stay as long as you want. The second time I came during blooming season (late June to July), it was a hot and busy weekend. There were way too many people and even people with professional photographers there taking photo shoots. I found it difficult to enjoy the day or even taking a decent picture without being photo bombed. So highly recommend coming here on a weekday. They do have nice and clean portable potty if you guys are wondering. The small shop in the front is very cute that sells dried/fresh lavender and other small miscellaneous items. I don't think I'd come back since I've already experienced it twice..

Yelp
Very crowded and a bit overrated. I went there with my friends because we were staying literally 2 minutes away and we just wanted to check it out. $8 admission. The field is a little smaller than what you may expect, but the smell was nice especially when the wind blows. A lot of people doing instagram photo shoots. Overprice merchandise at the shop. I would not make a trip from the city just for this. I recommend combining it with a winery tour or something. Not worth 2 hours but ok if you are in the area.

Yelp
It is overrated! I went there today and I didn't have fun at all! First of all, it was too crowded! Too crowded! And there were too many bees!!! It was horrible!!!!! Literally, we spent $16 for two adult entry fee, and my 10 -year-old daughter got free entry! But there was nothing special! We just walked around........it doest not worthy a 2-hour trip to go there! Everything in the gift shop are over priced! A bunch of lavender to take home for $8............

Yelp
Admission is $8 per adult on weekends, they are no longer promoting ticket price redemption for products at the gift store. It was a long commute, hoping that it was worth it, but it didn't live up to the hype. Lavenders were beautiful but not as vibrant or full like I thought it would be. Oh and beware to all flats, no cushion and/or high heel wearers, the parking area is full of loose rocks so if you don't want to twist an ankle, maybe sneakers? Overall, it was just an experience to be had.

Yelp
Oh the scenery! The scents! Tre Jolie magnifique! The barn welcomes you w open French doors. The interior's lavender scent encapsulates you... so relaxing. Soaps, creams, tonics, teas, bouquets, sachets, lotions, books, cards, tea pots, & baskets dedicated to all things lavender. Warm & informative staff. Prices reflect the care and quality of the products.

Yelp
What a great place, I wish I made it earlier in the season to see the blooms. But it was still beautiful and the shop is adorable. The ladies that worked there were extremely friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back next year to see the blooms!

Yelp
Cute place to buy Lavender. Has become an instagram destination, but IRL it's a little underwhelming (it's just a farm). If you like lavender the pricing is decent and everything smells amazing!

Yelp
Came here last year and it's beautiful. It's obviously not much compared to lavender fields in France but it's really a gem for the NJ/NY area. This place might be far so I recommend checking their FB or IG location to make sure the lavender is blooming and not dead before coming. Also this place can get crowded and the parking lot can fill up so I'd also suggest coming early before it opens. There's something about seeing the just the lavender fields empty that is extra special. The gift shop is a little overpriced but I ended up buying some lavender plants and they're still growing well. FYI there will be a lot of bees in the field if that's something that bothers you. This place is pretty far so if you want to make your trip more worthwhile there is an outlet mall on the way, tons of wineries and farms, stop and enjoy the views of the ocean/go to a beach, or just check out another place in general

Yelp
Lavender by the Bay is a beautiful place to visit. And a great excuse to go to the tip coast of Long Island for a day trip. The fields are beautiful and they grow various verities of Lavender from English to French. Some fields are little bushels of thin lavender, and other are thick and rich with color. Some fields are dull and others are bright. It's a great place to walk around and take in nature. Admission is only 5 bucks a person. And afterward our party decided to hit GreenPoint for seafood since we were so near the ocean. It's only a 20 minute drive from here.
