I recently engaged Lavender 'n Cream for my brother's engagement party. They were asked to make an engagement cake and cookie party favors. Everything was delivered on time and turned out beautifully! The cake was especially beautiful and my sister in law loved the flowers they used to decorate the cake. She liked it so much that she even wants to engage them for her wedding cake. Highly recommend this business! Lara and her team are the best.

Recently when I visited Menlo Park I stumbled upon this bakery, I am a fan of French bakery ever since I’ve tried their pastry and ice cream/Gelato. They have options when it comes to ice cream such as Oreo, pistachio, strawberry, cotton candy, vanilla and chocolate. They let u try it if you ask them so you can taste and get. It was ok not even nice. I’ve tried honestly local bakeries better. I’d rate it like 2/5. They have 3 sizes available for them Small medium and large ranging from $7.75 and so on. Which is expensive I tell u why because the gelato it wasn’t gelato. I have had gelato and it has its own unique taste, I’d say they tried to make one but couldn’t actually. They have cupcake options ranging from $4. Something. Reasonable. Haven’t tasted can’t say much. They have pastry options like strawberry shortcake, lavender vanilla cake & tarts available. I personally got myself a Lavender vanilla cake 1.5/5 it wasn’t good at all like the bread was soft but the cream was soooo sugary like it gave me a cheap taste and a chocolate gelato. Disappointed. They have cake and catering services available also. They even have coffee and sandwich options here you know like a quick breakfast stop could this be?! Haven’t tasted it and honestly wouldn’t go again either but if you’re a fan of sugary like really suit cakes you can give it a try. Don’t be surprised if you’re a disappointment like me. Regarding their hospitality, uhm no remarks on that because they weren’t that welcoming but yes they were helpful with helping me choose an ice cream flavor although I think they can do better with their customer service so yeah. Though the guy that helped me with my order was nice but I think a little talk and greeting could go a long way after all French are masters in bakery so if he could engage in a small conversation about their pastry for someone like me who was interested in knowing would have been a lot appreciated. Overall this whole bakery needs to actually level up their menu and taste.

I was waiting for someone and I had about an hour to spend so I stopped here for a coffee. After coming here Hot Cocoa looked good so I ordered one and that was definitely a good decision. Person behind the counter was really helpful, I also had a cookie which was too good! (I wish I had more) I might come back here whenever in the area.

This is a hidden gem tucked away in Marsh Manor. It’s primarily a dessert place that stays open for lunch & dinner hours. Mornings, they have a solid espresso, offering, and some delicious breakfast sandwiches. The lunch and dinner menus mix Mediterranean flavors, French bistro delights, and some Italian/American options like spaghetti and meatballs. The sautéed mushrooms side is out of this world! It’s good portion, sautéed with butter, garlic and cheese, (emphasis on the garlic) I will be going back for this dish for sure, it works as a side or a main. But as mentioned, the desserts are the star of this show. Gelato, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies and pastries. Haven’t had a bad one yet. So far I can give a solid thumbs up to the Ganachios and Dubai chocolate cake slices, as well as the strawberry and pecan tarts. The owner is friendly. The location has simple decor, with options to sit and enjoy at a table inside or out on the patio.

Google
This place is under new ownership. The pastries are delicious (I got the lemon tart, my friend got the mocha cake) and they have a wonderful selection of drinks. Some kind of unusual drinks which I super appreciate. It’s also super pretty. The ambiance is really nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Google
This review is only for baked goods. Ordered three items: pecan pie, apple pie, passion fruit mousse. The presentation is very nice however it is all sickeningly sweet, most people who tried these desserts could not eat them. The worst was the pecan pie, could not taste the nuts at all - Safeway pecan pie is better!

We got cupcakes for my daughters birthday from Lavender’n Cream and they were so amazing ! Brightly colored, with a fluffy cream top, moist, soft and delicious ! There are several flavors and we took a few of every type. The kids loved it at the party ! The special lavender cupcake has a cute lavender color and a faint aroma that makes it totally unique ! Besides cupcakes they have all kinds of sweet goodies : cookies, macarons, pastries, gelato, cake pops, cakes and custom cakes, coffee and so on. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the shop has pretty decor inside. Loved it and will certainly come back !

We stopped in our our way out of Menlo Park. I ordered the "oriental salad" with chicken. It was super tasty. I picked up a couple of their cupcakes and glad I did. They were a nice treat for us on the way home. Everything looked delicious. I'll definitely return to sample more!

Yelp
THANK YOUUUU for making such a perfect smash cake. It was everything I needed it to be. The cake smash was a success and was so hilarious lol. Not to mention the cake itself along with all the yummy berries on top were beautiful, delicious and perfectly cut & smooshed in the icing as requested. Perfect size and consistency, too. Baby has food allergies and everything was executed perfectly/safely. Great communication. I have to be honest. We ordered a much more extravagant one, same exact flavor elsewhere, and it was a huge fail. I ordered your cake because I had a gut feeling it was going flop, and it did. I'm so happy I found you guys last minute. The baby didnt really like the icing but she loved everything else. Not to mention, the guests had a taste- they wanted more cake! Thank you for being so easy to work with!!! That experience truly matters!!!!! Pick up was friendly and a breeze. (1 star off bc I wasn't a huge fan of the font writing & a strawberry got messed up but didn't seem fixable.) Otherwise, highly recommend.

Yelp
Hadn't been here for a while, but we were out of coffee at home and I don't give the chain coffee joints my money so I stopped by Lavender & Cream last week on the way to work. Always greeted with a smile, the owner emerged from the back and took my order... a medium coffee with cream and sugar, and I opted for the Egg, Bacon, Bleu Cheese, Avo sandwich on a fresh croissant. Little did I know it also came with a small side salad. A nice surprise. It was prepared quickly and I was on my way. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I ate in the car. First bite of the sandwich was savory perfection. Supremely fresh, buttery flakey croissant with perfectly cooked bacon and slightly runny egg. The bleu cheese and the salty bacon were a perfect combo. I devoured it and wished I had bought two! I'll be back again soon!

Yelp
Cute lil hidden gem! Ambience inside definitely lives to its name with an all purple interior. I ordered a perfect little breakfast here - an iced latte and a breakfast croissant (swapped out blue cheese for cheddar) and was pleasantly surprised that it came with a mixed green salad! Quick service and will def be back.

Yelp
If you're craving a decadent desert, this is the place for you! They have an amazing selection of delicious pastries and chocolate treats. It's a little pricey but worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Yelp
Disappointed, I stopped by for a sweet bite because the place looked nice and cute. As soon as you walk in, you see a lot of appealing desserts. We decided to go for a cupcake, only to find out it was more like a rock with extra-hard whipped cream that smelled like it had been sitting in a refrigerator too long. The service was just okay, we only got a quick "hi" and "bye" from the lady.

Yelp
I've been here twice, once last year and once today. Unfortunately, it's been pretty disappointing both times. Both times, I've ordered a cupcake (I wanted to give them another shot today), and today I also picked up some dog treats for my mom's dog. I can't speak to how the dog treats are, but both times the cupcake has been basically grocery-store bakery quality. The cupcake is airy and fluffy, and while they give a substantial amount of icing, it is refrigerated (and super solid), making it difficult to eat. I was able to slide the entire solid block of icing off with my finger and broke pieces of it off to eat with the cupcake itself. The staff members are always friendly, so I gave them two stars for that, but I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
I was greeted and helped immediately. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a fruit tart. They brought it outside to me. It was the perfect ambiance. It was a gorgeous California day. The food was sooo fresh. I highly recommend this area and this restaurant.

Yelp
This bakery is cute and I've generally been pleased with the baked goods here. The Oreo cheesecake is a bit small and kind of expensive at $9 but I thought the flavor was very good. I liked the crunchy Oreo bits at the bottom! The cupcakes were also good too. I haven't had one in awhile so I need to try one again soon!

Yelp
The pistachio cake was simply delicious! The staff were preparing the cake as I had arrived early. I was offered a cup of coffee while I waited. With the coffee I tried the red velvet cupcake, it was delicious too. Lavender'n cream did not disappoint.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
The whole order tasted like it had a chemical sprayed on it and was absolutely disgusting . The cheesecake was not cheesecake , it tasted like poorly mixed cream cheese . The Oreo cheesecake tasted like chemical

Yelp
We were SO impressed by Lavender 'n Cream! We've used them twice now, 2 years in a row, for my son's personalized birthday cake. I upped the stakes a little bit this year and requested a 2 tier cake with custom space decor. They knocked it out of the park!! The cake looked amazing and tasted great too! We had so many people reach out to request their information too. Highly highly recommend!

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery. Got the Passionfruit mousse cake for a bday party and it was a hit. A little pricey, but hey, that's the state of inflation today not a testament of the bakery itself. Would def come back to try more treats.

Handy D.

Yelp
I love the food it was one of the best sandwich I tried and the salad was amazing. The service was excellent and the ambience beautiful I will be back
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely not as good as the Cheesecake factory. I felt their Oreo cheesecake didn't have that richness that better cheesecakes do. Although this was NOT a no bake cheesecake, it had that taste and texture to it. I was disappointed for the price and quality at almost $8, I'm definitely expecting something great. Their plain croissant was also a disappointment. It didn't have a very flaky and buttery texture like Portside bakery or other places. This tasted like a Whole Foods croissant.

Yelp
Lovely shop, everything looks delicious! I visited this past and I tried several of their pastries and I highly recommend. I also tried their sandwiches Mediterranean pies and they were all excellent!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but I ordered a chocolate swiss roll and did not enjoy it at all. Normally, I will devour any dessert, especially if it is chocolate. However, the chocolate swiss roll I had here was so bad that I couldn't finish it. It looked beautiful, but it tasted stale, the cake itself had no flavor, and the cream, which there was too much of, was too sugary. I'm hoping I just came on a bad day, because the business owners seem wonderful and the place is very nicely decorated. There are tables where you can sit and chat or do work, and I love the lavender theme throughout. Presentation: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Taste: 2/10 Considering the roll was $7.50, I regrettably will not visit again unless I see other more positive reviews posted here.

Yelp
This place was a little hard to find. Luckily, they had a little sign with a mini menu that kind of pointed you in the right direction. Went here for a tasty treat, and boy, did I find it. The lady who helped me was super nice and helpful in helping me pick the perfect desert. I was in a chocolatey mood and got the opera. It was like a tiramisu, but instead of tiramisu, it was a chocolatey version. It wasn't overly decadent or sweet. It was a perfect balance. It was just what I needed and paired it with a cold brew. Their cupcakes vanilla and chocolate were tasty and moist as well. I definitely want to come back again and try the passion fruit mousse, tarts, and egg croissants. The place was very inviting and modern. Not overly decorated but displayed what they had to offer. It was simple and classy looking.
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
The owners Lara and Edgar are so lovely. They made catering our event so easy. They were willing to accommodate our changing group needs and offered a wonderful variety. Everyone at the event loved the deserts. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend them for catering and/or a personal treat for the day!

Yelp
Expect only the best ingredients in their cupcakes. Excellent presentation with lovely lavender box. I have ordered twice for delivery to celebrate adult birthdays. We had red velvet and and I think white cupcake with lavender-can't remember the exact description while doing this review. Delicious!!! A little pricey but adds elegance and taste to any occasion! One day I hope to go on-site!

Yelp
Ordered a unicorn cake for my daughter's second birthday and they did not disappoint. Wonderful customer service, easy to order, and product was exactly as requested. The cake was delicious and my daughter was so thrilled with the final product! Will be ordering from here again for future birthdays!

Yelp
By default I visited this place because it's close to my work and it was brand new, but I think I would've traveled from afar anyways to get a taste of their sweetness! I appreciate that you can get an individual tart, or cheesecake, or mousse, or Swiss roll slice! And they serve coffee! The best combination. Their presentation is beautiful too. And when you ask to get it packed up as a present, the packaging is so cute. I may be biased because I love the color lavender and the calming effects of lavender. Lol.
google avatar

Reema P.

Yelp
I can't stress the divinity of the pecan tart these guys make every single time. Transcendental.
google avatar

Sabrina P.

Yelp
I was having a sweet tooth and was trying to find a place somewhere near my work. I eventually found out about this place as I usually wander around the plaza during my lunch hour. I love the cute purple aesthetics and the fact that there are many varieties of cakes & pastries. As I was walking in and deciding what to get, I was greeted with a warm smile by a very sweet man at the cash register. He is also patient and attentive, taking his time as I am ordering. I ended up ordering a large iced latte and a chocolate cupcake. I really love how strong my latte is and the level of sweetness my cupcake has. Frankly, I regretted not ordering more cupcakes along with the swiss rolls. I will be trying out more cupcakes and other pastries here!
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
The cakes and pastries are not only beautiful, they're also delicious to the last crumb. The lady at the counter was quite friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Giovanna R.

Yelp
Fun, but doubt I'd return. They have fun chocolate gifts and pastries. Since lavender is in the name I thought their lavender cake would be tasty, but it was dry and the lavender was subtle. Their chocolates and French pastries looked pretty tho! I wonder how those taste.
google avatar

Tracie P.

Yelp
I walked by this cafe and got a few treats for Easter desert. I love the vibe of anything lavender. I will return to have someone yummy for lunch.

Mohammad Hossein G.

Yelp
Over priced walmart cakes. Stay away. They have both increased prices and reduced the quality of their cakes.
google avatar

Yelp
New owners need to update the hours no idea when they open or close pretty unprofessional
google avatar

Yelp
I have passed Lavender and cream many times and was impressed by the layout so I decided to try them. Oh my goodness!!! the ice cream is past far too sweet, I mean I could only tolerate two tiny spoonfuls before needing to dispose of it and drink water. Caution children will love this super sweet rocket fuel! I have never thrown away any ice cream in my lifetime except this one. I don't know if this applies to only the strawberry/ banana ice cream. Maybe others can tell us. One thing in particular, I immediately noticed was there was no alluring pastry smells emitting from this place as other bakeries. The man there is very amiable.
google avatar

Stef T.

Yelp
This review is only about the tiramisu and Lavender Vanilla Cake. The tiramisu was flavorful, but the bread to "mousse" ratio was more mousse than bread. Lavender vanilla cake has dry bread with very sweet cream. I wouldn't purchase any of these particular cakes here.
google avatar

Haleh H.

Yelp
Cute place, smells amazing! We didn't get to try the pastries this time but the beet salad and quinoa salad were tasty & generous portion. We also ordered 6 Mediterranean Bites Spinach Feta to share, it was good for sharing, I had one. Will be back for pastry! Wish they made espresso drinks like lattes to go with pastry.
google avatar

Rhona G.

Yelp
Lavender 'n Cream is lovely little shop for delicious breakfast/brunch, baked goods and desserts. This review is based on baked goods take out. Service was neutral. There is indoor seating and a table/chairs just out front. They have a good selection of different baked goods and desserts. We ordered the lavender cake and also chocolate cortina. Both sponges were delicious. The cream/icing was just right in sweetness and not too sweet. The chocolate cortina is memorable as it was that delicate yet hit the spot for chocolate craving. A great place to enjoy goodies with friends or on a date.
google avatar

JoAnn Y.

Yelp
Yum! Tasty cream puffs and symphony cake. Nice selection of shortbread cookies. It's hard to make a bad choice.

Yelp
Lavendar cream made my wedding cake and the look was exactly how I imagined it. They are customer friendly. I ordered vanilla with fresh fruits. Thank you lavendar cream.

MeeksnFatima B.

Yelp
My sister got a chocolate cake and it tasted like fridge flavor :/ tbh prices too expensive for quality. -‍

Yelp
Amazing choices for ice cream and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If you ask for a taste test, they're happy to oblige. Very zen ambience

Yelp
A little secret that most people don't know about. The Starbucks on the corner is always super crowded but this place has breakfast and iced coffee drinks and is almost always empty. You get a little salad with balsamic vinegar with a breakfast sandwich which comes on a delicious croissant. The iced coffee was delicious and strong. The inside smells like heaven and I can't speak for the taste of the pastries but they look amazing. I highly recommend giving them a shot.
google avatar

Yelp
First time in, ordered a BLAT sandwich, added chicken, came out quickly. The bread was fresh and the chicken was warm, which I appreciate on these kinds of sandwiches, and the people behind the counter were incredibly nice.

Yelp
What beautiful desserts! In my post-dessert haze - as best as I can recall - here are few of the dozens of thought bubbles that ran through my mind as I drooled over the display.... I was drawn to the passion fruit mousse, then the lemon tart - a beautiful miniature lemon meringue... Oh but there are swiss roll slices that are equally beautiful... And what about those pastries and cake pops in the other display?!?! But, it was a chocolate night... (Oreo cheesecake almost won. Almost.) So with the assistance of the baker's son, the winner tonight: the Individual Cortina - a chocolate mousse cake topped by two chocolate dipped mini cream puffs (filled with delicious vanilla custard). It was DE-LI-CIOUS!!! Is anyone else a fan of Gabriel Iglesias? I GOT TO EAT A WHOLE CAKE TONIGHT!!! (Normally, I would be sharing with hubby, but he was out of town... His loss...) It was too good to stop and fortunately, the size is similar to a generous slice of a normal cake (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). You try it and tell me I'm wrong. When you do, I'll go back and try it again to prove you wrong. Again. The sugar rush is wearing off. Good thing they're closed for tonight. I'll be back.

Jackie V.

Yelp
Super cute cafe! The service is sweet and fast. I'm excited to come back and try more of their pastries.
google avatar

Dang N.

Yelp
The little place isn't bad! The fruit tarts are loaded with fruit! Quite possibly the most fruit I've ever seen on fruit tarts. The lavender cake is quite good but you gotta let it cool to room temperature. Though I could only get a couple bites in as it was too sweet for me eventually.

Ela B.

Yelp
the slice of cake was not soft enough & the taste was ok.didn't find it tasty either. the lady was taking too long to serve just 2 customers. with not muc

Raelene H.

Yelp
$7 croissant??? A friend wanted one and so I tried one. And. Honestly I didn't see a sign for the price. It's a good maybe $3 to $5 (high but taking into account rent and such) croissant. Definitely would never pay that much again. No customers in the store. After lunch time but still. The pastries were pretty and hugely stocked. Nothing inexpensive to draw me in and I was sort of celebrating being out and about and thanking my friend for some help on a project so I went with it. The croissant was flaky but dry on the outer bits. Just ok on the more moist inner bits. A single sliced almond on the outside. I did get some almond paste in the last bite and that was what I wanted the whole croissant to be about. It was moist and layered and flavorful. Gosh. I've made pastries for many years and understand laminated dough takes some work. That's ultimately why I went with a croissant; they take work. This was not worth it. I am sorry it wasn't better received. I wanted it to be amazing. Maybe other items would be more to my liking - they sure were visually appealing.

Yelp
A nice clean sensible neighborhood bake shop that would be well executed at at $$ but is $$$
google avatar

Yelp
If you can't get the cheesecake right, nothing else will be worth a try. I ordered their blueberry cheesecake tonight. It's very petite, so don't expect the standard size slice. It certainly didn't have the texture of a cheesecake. More like sweetened and thickened sour cream. Tasted rather bland at the edges. When you finally get to the center, you do taste a little of the lavender, but it didn't infuse well or uniformly with the cream. The top had a light blueberry jelly with one real blueberry. The crust was a disappointment. It was hard and like cutting through stone. Overall, it tasted a little stale, or the ingredients was not of high quality. The experience made me doubt if their stuff is baked fresh daily. Not returning.
google avatar

Kaycee C.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing experience. I ordered a slice of the lavender cake, the strawberry cheesecake and a milk. The 8 oz milk cost almost $4... For a total of over $20. The lavender cake was so dry, it must've been at least 2-3 days old. The frosting on the outside was crumbly and dry. And it didn't even taste like lavender. The cheesecake was oddly salty and the strawberry puree tasted like it had sat in a refrigerator and absorbed all of the other smells. The desserts are cute, don't get me wrong, but they don't taste good.
