Lavin's Vegetarian Family Restaurant

An exceptional dining experience in Jaffna! We visited Lavin’s Vegetarian Family Restaurant and were blown away by the quality of the food. The Lavin’s Special Dosa is a must-try—it truly melts in your mouth. Their Masala Chai was perfectly spiced and authentic. A big shout-out to Dushan for his warm and professional service; he made our family feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality vegetarian food!

Had a great experience at Lavin's Vegetarian Family Restaurant. We tried the Paneer String Hopper Kottu, Madras Meal, and Masala Dosai, and all of them were very tasty and well prepared. The flavors were authentic and the portions were satisfying. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick and attentive. They also have a wide variety of menu items, so there are plenty of options to choose from. Another highlight is their large selection of beverages, which were also very good. Overall, it’s a great place for vegetarian food with good service. Definitely worth visiting!

Really lovely spot for a stop. We had masala chai, wade and chapati and it was fresh, hot and delicious. It was right by nallur temple so it is easy to find and nice to see the atmosphere. The service was super fast and friendly. The price was fair due to the location but for local food is little more on the pricey side. No complaints ☺️

This is a pure vegetarian restaurant in Jaffna where you would find delicious authentic south Indian and other jaffna style cuisine. It’s just 3 kms away from the Jaffna city center and 8 minutes drive on the Palali Road. The food is delicious and has many different kinds to choose from. The is a bit expensive but you won’t regret the purchase and the quality of the food. Restaurant is very clean and the food serving time is acceptable. The only problem is that there are no dedicated parking spots and you have to park on the street.

We visited Lavin’s Restaurant as a family with our child around 11:00–11:15 am, and it was a wonderful experience. We ordered mushroom fried rice, butter paratha with kada mushroom masala, Lavin’s Special Dosa, masala chai, and fresh juices including ginger lime, pineapple, and mango. Everything was extremely fresh and very tasty. Lavin’s Special Dosa was the epic dish. It was loaded with cheesy, rich flavors, vegetables, and delicious gravy inside the dosa. Super flavorful, mouthwatering, and truly unforgettable. The mushroom fried rice was also outstanding, the taste stayed on my tongue long after the meal. The fresh juices were refreshing and perfectly prepared, and the masala chai tasted very authentic. Parking is available inside the lane, which is very convenient. Overall, an awesome restaurant with epic food, great flavors, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. Definitely a 5 out of 5 experience.

Very delicious food. Some favourites were the paneer butter masala and the cashew masala. The flaky butter paratha was amazing.

The food is very tasty and its a nice restaurant which is why i have given 4 stars .. but i feel the staffs are not able to handle when its busy…. As they took forever to take the order even tho we were given a table quickly … i had to keep asking to send someone to take the order then again we only got our drinks after the starters…. I will recommend this place still as the food is yummy but be aware of the slow service

Last night we ordered the crispy and flavorful masala and chili onion dosas for dinner. My dad enjoyed them so much that he wanted to return for a thali at lunch. Once again, we were warmly welcomed by the ever-smiling Dushan. Great job—keep it up! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!
