Lavoe

"A modern, centrally located restaurant which is expertly run by a self-taught chef and which specialises in rice dishes. The chef is constantly searching for the “perfect rice”, which he usually cooks with seafood." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, and was a great addition to my Valencia itinerary! Prices are reasonable too, for the quality of food and impeccable service

Delicious food, excellent Paella, great starters, served by a very friendly and helpful service team

We (2 couples) went there because our renter highly recommanded this restaurant specialized in "arroz" dishes. As a first we had tomatoes in olive oil and sepia, both tasty and of great quality. Arroz negro de marisca then was a real highlight in taste, albeit simply overpriced considering the counted pieces of garnels and fish on top. The winelist is small but fairly priced, the sauvignon blanc Impromtu from Utiel was a decent companion. The waiters are kind of special: efficient, but snappy and arrogant.

Food's ok, but the place is very pricey for what is served to you. Portions are on the small side (huge paella pan but too little rice in it 😄) and your get charged for everything. Also the place seems to attract the posh crowd, which makes it not the kind of place I like

I was alone so they put me at the very back of the restaurant. No windows, no music, very dark and depressive inside. I didn't want any starters and they offered me bread, and at the end they charged me for it. The rice was very salty, i couldn't finish it. And it was very expensive, it bothers me when you have tons of other restaurant options with more delicious food, at a cheaper price. Went there with a tip of a colleague but regretting.

Tomato starter was excellent, paella was tasty could do with more shrimp for the price (8 small pieces of shrimp for almost 50 EUR).

Our first trip to Valencia wouldn’t be complete without a good paella. A friend recommended this place, and they certainly delivered. The restaurant was lovely, the staff were caring and attentive, but above all was the quality of the food. Between us we had the tuna tartare which was melt in the mouth delicious, mussels were superb and the baby squid was something special. However, the star of the show was the paella which was rich, and flavoursome with addition of the tender fish and prawns. If you get a chance, do try this place, you will not be disappointed.

Overpriced food. The arroz at Lavoe is just OK and it is too expensive. You can easily find better quality dishes in other restaurants in Valencia for half the price.
