The 23 Best Bars In Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"On any given weeknight, almost every single table at Layla is a date. And all those tables have at least one Layla’s Juice, an orange-colored cocktail that’s sweet and sour and makes us dream of sunny days with warm breezes. Make sure you order one, and bonus points if you order it sitting in their big backyard. The cocktail bar works best for a date (as mentioned), or for a casual hang with a few fancy snacks, like some grilled snap peas with aioli, or whipped chicken liver mousse on toasted baguettes." - bryan kim, kenny yang, nikko duren, matt tervooren, will hartman

Classic cocktails are spot on. Others can be a hit or miss. The vibe here is great and so is the staff. Food was good, a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, a great neighborhood spot!

Google
A popular spot with good reason. It can be really packed at the bar but once you get seated, it’s a much more peaceful experience. The grilled sourdough was delicious to start. Chicken skewers were good too especially the sauce. Burger was reliably good but the fries were perfectly crispy. I preferred the espresso martini more than the Negroni. Service was attentive and swift. Great overall!

Google
Cute bar even for a solo drink at the bar. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The gem salad was lovely. Layla’s juice was flavorful. Seems like almost everyone else was here on a date, and I agree, it would be a great spot for a date.

I have been looking forward to trying out Layla and am so excited that I finally went. Met a friend for a catch up and ended up staying all night. Food, drinks, service and vibe were all great. Music was especially vibey loved the 8-9pm tunes. Definitely recommend the crudo and the rhubarb sbagliato. Food was such high quality- I really appreciated their attention to detail. The freshness of the blood orange, crusty but spongey sourdough, and high quality of the cheese. Our server recommended the lamb skewers as well (hack order the fries and dip them in the sauce). Will be back soon!

Honestly my favorite bar. Martinis are phenomenal and the pasta is so delicious! Love the atmosphere and service here too.

Google
Nice vibes and cool spot. The cocktails were very good - the Layla Juice was outstanding. The food was okay - tasty but veryyyyy small portions for the prices. The server we had seemed like he was rushing us and he wasn’t all that attentive besides suggesting more drinks every time he passed. When we stopped ordering cocktails (we had two each - we are older moms with young children after all haha) he didn’t seem to care about our table anymore.

Google
Australian revamp of the former Rabbit Hole from some of the original team behind Banter in the West Village. Layla’s interiors are well appointed - neighborhoody, but still sophisticated. They’ve retained a causal vibe in the back garden. Drinks are great. Menu is just dinner serve at the moment. Food is solid. Don’t miss the ravioli made fresh in house and their Caesar salad is pretty perfect. Service is consistently warm and welcoming.

Google
A solid 4, but if we want to get technical, the food was 4+ and the drink was a 3. We came on a Saturday night around 7 pm (2 people) and had to wait about 5 min. It was definitely happening in there. Hookup vibes and pretty loud, but service was nice and attentive. For drinks, I got the Spicy Mario (3/5). The mix was good but it was a mezcal drink with no rim! It gave me a cheap vibe even though it was almost $20. A salt rim would have elevated and given it the balance it needed. For food, we got: - Crab (3/5) - Strachiatellla (5/5) - Tortellini (4.5/5) I'd come back for that strachiatella, in fact, order 2. The sourdough bread was perfect (get more to dip into the tortellini sauce!). The tortellini was also delicious - I am partial to fried sage. It was very al dente and took a long time to arrive but the flavors were beautiful. Overall, it's a bit of a hit or miss food wise but the hits are worth coming back for.

Yelp
We needed to kill an hour and stumbled upon Layla in the neighborhood. They have a cute backyard and it is perfect on a nice day. We ordered a couple drinks, oysters, sourdough bread and fries. Everything was solid and a great spot for a quick afternoon snack. We'll be back to try their brunch or dinner!

Yelp
The burger was mid, the espresso martini was clutch, the staff was friendly and personable. There were people in there that clearly come a lot and knew the staff--I loved the friendly vibe. Would for sure visit again !

Yelp
Layla NYC always impresses! This Williamsburg staple has friendly staff, a cozy vibe, and phenomenal food and drinks. Some of the highlights for us were the chicken skewers, beef shin ragu, and Layla's Juice. The superb service and great location make this an easy choice any day of the week. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place - it should be on everyone's list!

Yelp
Romantic date spot. We dined in on a Friday night. It was a holiday weekend, so we were seated immediately. The restaurant was very dimly lit . Seemed like most of the patrons were couples on dates or close friends on an intimate night out. Full bar. Three beers on draft. Around ten wines available by the glass. Bunch of house cocktails plus a section dedicated to spritzes. I opted for a glass of Barbera. I was very impressed with it. Exactly the rustic and deep profile that I was looking for. Food menu was designed to be shared. We started with the Stracciatella. It was served with a pickled eggplant salad, herbs, and grilled sourdough. Dish had an unexpected funkiness to it. For the main course, we shared the burger and the Caesar salad. Burger was my favorite item. Juicy and topped with savory house sauce. Served on a fluffy yet crispy bun. Caesar salad was a close second favorite. Aggressively dressed with a more citrus forward taste. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. There were two gender neutral restrooms; they were spacious and handicap accessible.

Yelp
Very nice, cozy restaurant with some fire food and drinks. Came here over the weekend for a 30 birthday party and had a great time. We were seated out back in the court yard, which is nicely decorated and enclosed. The drinks were awesome, with their expresso martinis and Tuscan wine hitting the spot. Food wise we had a bunch of small plates. Everything was good, but the croquettes, oysters, and beef skewers were amazing. Service wise everyone was great. The staff was fast, polite, and efficient. I'd highly recommend if your in the area.

Yelp
Visited for brunch today and had a truly unpleasant experience. -Unless you're deemed cool enough, the wait staff will pretend you don't exist. I don't think we've dealt with such passive aggressive behavior at a bar or restaurant in Brooklyn in a long time. Our waitress was cold and rude to my kind, polite pregnant wife. Sorry for asking you to do your job, I guess? -They ran out of items, so their already small menu was even more limited. Not sure how a brunch restaurant can run out of burgers so early in the day, which they're apparently known for. -My wife liked her breakfast burrito, but the bacon sandwich was a joke. I consumed more fat content on a little English muffin today than I've had all month. FYI - no grilled food here. Everything is fried. -Our order took 40 minutes, which is strange, considering the place was half-empty. -Wasn't expensive, but would have paid 2-3x as much somewhere else had I known what I was getting into. Layla gets a 2/5 because it's a cool space. That's it. You can walk down Bedford and get similar, better food in a more welcoming environment literally anywhere else. Skip it.

Yelp
Went right when they opened so they were still setting up/I was the only one there. Completely attentive even though I was solo. Food was great, would go back anytime I'm in the area.

Yelp
*more 4.5 stars Had a good time checking out Layla for the first time. Cut, cozy place with a small menu with rotating or seasonal items, which I appreciate, to keep things fresh and interesting, although I hope they bring back the prawns, I wanted to try those! Got the croquets, Caesar salad, clams with butterbeans and tortellini along with two glasses of wine. The croquets were nice, although I wise the cheese on top was more inside because it was lacking cheesiness inside but the cheese on top made it better, just hard to scoop with a fork. My friend and I both agreed that the Caesar salad was the star. Super lemony and flavorful while still being light! Highly recommend. For the clams, the sauce was good although I wish there were more clams since there were only 6 pieces and a whole lot of butter beans. The tortellini wasn't too memorable, I was expecting more flavor but only for one note of squash. Overall, it's a great spot with good ambiance. For super packed around 8pm. The servers were really nice and attentiveness as well. Give it a shot!

Yelp
Discriminatory establishment!!! I called ahead of time and was told that there were tables available and the kitchen was open with light bar food options. I arrived 2 minutes later and my friends, were told that "the kitchen was closed and there were no tables available, sorry we won't be able to take your party",. My friends being African American, and the place full of Europeans, turned around and looked at me, I walked up and tell the host that I had just called and was told that there was a table and that the kitchen was open until 1am with bar food. The host with a shocked face, said well "yes we do serve some light snacks but we don't have any tables" I said well I just called 2 minutes ago and was told that tables are available in the back for walk ins... he looked like he was scrambling to figure out how to turn us away again. He said well if you want to wait there may be something available in a few and walks away. THiS IS NOT HOW YOU CONDUCT Business. The fact that I, as a fair skin person received different information than my black friends in 2025 was insane!

Yelp
I only went for cocktails, but it was delightful. The bartenders were very nice and the drinks were solid. My wine had some sediment in it from being the last poor of the bottle and the bartender didn't think twice before straight up giving me a whole other glass to replace my almost finished one. Solid service. Good drinks. A little tight at the bar, but it was a Friday night.

Yelp
I love Layla but so does everyone else in the neighborhood! This has quickly become one of the most sought after drink and brunch spots in the neighborhood. The space is great and the outdoor area is such a nice touch for warm weather days. Cocktails are incredible, service is warm and their happy hour deals are one of my favorite treats!

Yelp
3.5 stars. I think Layla is smart and fun and festive. The cocktails are good, they are friendly, food is above average. But if I'm going to be paying upwards of $30 for a burger and fries (these are Daniel Boulud prices, when he introduced the world to the $27 DB Bistro burger, and its signature "blend" over 20 years ago) I wish the management would kick in a bit more and help these hard working servers out. Our table shouldn't be littered with crumbs where we're literally pushing them away after a few courses. Our first cocktails arrived after 2 courses, and the first couple of apps were served to us at supersonic speed where we could barely catch our breath (after a promise they would be "coursed.") Additionally, my partner's chicken entree had a knife on the plate buried under a mound of sauce. He had to wipe it off, soaked and dripping, with his napkin to eat the course. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Layla, I'm a fan, but at these prices, let's introduce some more professionalism and focus into the experience.

Yelp
1000/10 recommend this place! The owner served us and was a genuine, kind hearted person! We were here from out of town and he made us feel like family - drinks were also the best we've had on the trip! Thank you David!

Yelp
**this review is for their cocktails only** I had gotten the orchard punch, which was refreshing, but not the most balanced (strong after taste). I know that costs are higher everywhere these days, but i'm not sure that I would pay $17 for it again. I think my friend got the gin based cocktail and we liked that one the most (it was the easiest to drink). But, I love the vibes of Layla and would return for perhaps their happy hour (apertivo drinks looked really interesting) and to try the food.

Yelp
If I was rating solely based on the drinks, I'd give this place 5 stars. I got the negroni and it was so good I got a second haha. Vibes inside were good and all of the bartenders/staff were super welcoming. Went with one other person and we also shared a few bites. We did the clams, stracciatella, and tuna tartare. The clams came out first and I personally felt like the pieces were cut up too small and it lacked salt. The stracciatella (on brocollini) was definitely the best dish, perhaps a bit too salty this time, but topped with nuts which provided a nice texture. The tuna was also a bit of a miss for me. Though the quality of the fish was good, the bed of avocado (more like guac) it was on was too overpowering so it didn't allow for the fish to be the focus. There were sunchoke chips on top, however, which were really good. I'd probably come back here if I wanted solid drinks!

Yelp
Food is OK but the vibe are great and service is fine. Ordered the burger and it's a good burger and drinks are also gold but the croquettes had unexpected blue cheese (?) and wasn't too big of a fan but the octopus was good
google avatar

Yelp
Food and cocktails absolutely 5/5 amazing. Espresso martini was one of the best ever we had to get another round. The orange spritz was also yummy. Still working out the kinks with service but this is a great spot for date night or a group. My favorite dish was definitely the crab toast!

Louis H.

Yelp
Usually come here in the evening with my partner for dinner and drinks. Always have the best time as food is always great along with the vibes and music. Decided try it out for lunch as my mom was visiting town. The back garden was perfect on a sunny day and the food also hit just as much for lunch. All the little dishes to share Stracciatella and the croquettes hit!

Yelp
I love this place. Really innovative (but accessible and delicious) cocktails! Think watermelon with mezcal and peppercorns or olive oil washed vodka. But also, they can do drinks not on the menu. I ordered a spicy margarita and it was great! Service is friendly, warm and prompt. Atmosphere is beautiful exposed brick with a nice outdoor patio and houseplants. Only had drinks so far- looking forward to coming back to try the food. Everything looks great.

Yelp
First, let's start with the service. Very attentive. Extremely friendly and accommodating. Food was good. I definitely did not try enough options but the salad that came with the Milanese was super tasty. And the fries were the perfect blend of soft and salty. The ambience was, really chill, but could also be romantic. Looking forward to checking the place out again and trying some more dishes.

Yelp
What a treat this place is. Laidback atmosphere with superior and friendly service. The best martinis around. Steak tartare, caesar salad and oysters . 5 stars.

Definitely 100% recommend! Very kind staff, great vibe, great location and thoughtfully created menu!

Yelp
