Google
Ridiculously good food. I got the vegetarian plate with falafel and egg plant. The falafel is so light and crisp. Okra is great too.

The chicken shish tawook at Lazeez is absolutely worth the visit. The chicken was perfectly grilled with a nice char on the outside while staying incredibly tender and juicy inside. The marinade hit all the right notes - garlicky, lemony, with well-balanced spices that didn’t overpower the meat. The portion was generous and came with flavorful rice and fresh vegetables. The garlic sauce (toum) they serve alongside is creamy and punchy - definitely adds another dimension to an already excellent dish. Service was prompt and friendly, and the overall quality-to-price ratio is excellent for Austin. If you’re craving Mediterranean food done right, this is the spot. Highly recommend the chicken shish tawook - it’s become my go-to order here.

Google
I am a die hard Mediterranean food lover so I can be hard to please. I’ve had many authentic Lebanese food experiences and I know a good place when I try one and this is a GEM. I’ve lived in austin for years and driven past here plenty of times but today I was craving a some good Gyro and babaganoush and this place did NOT disappoint. I think this is some of the freshest and tastiest Mediterranean food I’ve had in a while. Falafel was crispy and delicious, gyro was tender and flavorful, the hummus was phenomenal, and I’d eat the babaganoush by the pound. I’m sad I waited this long to try it but will now be a regular!

Love Lazeez Cafe. Authentic Mediterranean food at affordable prices. Go hungry, leave happy! Some of my favorites are the chicken and beef shawarma, fried cauliflower and baklava. Best Mediterranean food in Austin!

Google
I love a hole in the wall as much as the next girl. Usually, I have my best meals at these establishments. Here the food was okay. The service was better, and the atmosphere was nice. Try the dolmas and fried cabbage. I'll go back to try more food options. It's definitely worth a round two.

Google
Good place to stop in for a tasty and fast lunch. Excellent sevice. The gyro player was solid. You get your food in a take out container if you eat in, I think a plate would have been better.

Google
This is a straightforward, no-frills, Mediterranean (Syrian) restaurant, with a focus on gyro and gyro plates. The menu reflects this simplicity and directness, as does the interior. The food is pretty great, especially since they have managed to balance the sauce, meat, vegetables and pita such that it is not greasy, the sauce is not runny, the vegetables are fresh and the meat remains moist. The feta cheese sauce in the gyro is a little heavy and lands more on the "cheese" side. The service is behind the counter and friendly - but that is all, as the customer is expected to do the rest. In fact - therein lies the main weakness of this establishment: it FEELS like a direct descendant of a food truck - replete with a food truck service experience.

We always have a wonderful experience when we visit Lazeez Cafe. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant is always clean and well kept. We love that we can see the cook and the food being prepared fresh in the back, which is a huge plus. We usually order the Greek salad and add meat to stay low carb. This time, we tried the beef gyro and chicken (I think chicken shawarma meat) mixed on the salad. The meat is tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband likes the gyro meat best and says it has the most flavor paired with his salad. We've also had the chicken shish tawook in the past, and it was also delicious. This is my favorite meat to order on my salad! However, it takes a little longer to cook, so be prepared to wait a little while longer if you order it. Also, they have a couple of salad "dressing" options (all of which we like), so be sure to ask what they have available to try! We have had the fried cauliflower in the past as well. If you like cauliflower, this is a must try! It is seriously so yummy. It's deep fried and paired with a delicious sauce. Overall, my husband and I both highly reommend you try Lazeez Cafe out. The food is really good and the service is excellent. Just be prepared to wait a little longer for your food, as everything is made to order. This isn't "fast food" but it's also not a traditional dine in restaurant with service, so do keep that in mind when you visit.

Yelp
I can only say that this place needs to step up their customer service and food quality if they hope to survive next to all the food trucks in this location. We arrived last night around 7:00 excited to check out this place. Our money would have been better spent elsewhere. The music was so loud that it was annoying and I wanted to turn around and leave but also give anew place a chance. I ordered a gyro and when I got it wrapped in foil , no plate , it was literally meat, tons of lettuce and tzatziki. It was ok but not a true gyro . We ordered onion rings which I will say were very good but when my husband brought the bottle of ketchup to the table I could not believe what I saw. It was a large bottle about 1/8 full with dried out crusted ketchup all around top with ketchup smears down the side. It was disgusting and I tried to wipe it off but just moved it aside. It was obvious to me that these owners really paid no attention to their dining area. The drinks had 2 that were out and when my husband pointed it out to them he was told to grab a coke from the cold case. No bother to correct the problem or apology for it being empty. I would not ever return to this restaurant as there are other places to eat. I felt like we were bothering them as they did not even offer to bring the food from the counter to the table! The best part of my meal was the onion rings.

Yelp
Being middle eastern myself and have had numerous shawarma, gyro and more food this place really disappointed me. I got the chicken shawarma plate, the rice was on the dry side, they the garlic dip was lacking flavor, the hummus need more tahini or something to give it a good flavor, the chicken was also flavorless. The service was good and food was ready pretty fast. The place is a little old with indoor and outdoor sitting. I had seen this on IG and thought it would live up to its hype but sadly it did not.

Yelp
Why do restaurants sometimes seem to not care whether customers come in or not? This restaurant was empty when we arrived to order our take out food. The staff did not seem very happy that we were there and were seemingly exasperated that we were unfamiliar with the menu. The mediterranean food was fine, not super good but fine. There are a LOT of other restaurants in the area, I'd suggest you chose another establishment.

Lori H.

Yelp
It was our first time here and thought that the meeza plate and beef swarma was delicious. The beef was tender, full of flavor, tender and plentiful. The meeza I thought was a great combination although I was not a fan of the babaganouj and tabouli. Their hummus and falafels were delicious. I would return to try other items they have to offer. This place is a cozy diner setting, with a cute outdoor seating as weather permits. The staff behind the counter are courteous but do not understand much English. Watch out for their mesmerizing eyes
google avatar

Paula L.

Yelp
Ate here a handful of times and it's always been good. I feel like they've updated their menu recently and the food has gotten even better! I usually get the chicken shawarma but decided to give the Lazeez 2 meat special a try and got it with half chicken half falafel. That was bomb and definitely my new goto along with a side of tabouleh. Owners are always nice. Great little spot.
google avatar

Seleyna S.

Yelp
Amazing food! So flavorful and quick one place I will miss in leaving Austin. I we discovered it sooner
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Hands down, my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. I used to live around the corner and would regularly pop in for Gyros and Baklava --10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Rishi P.

Yelp
Got to go food but indoor seating was classic with art and pics from the Middle East. Ordering was easy as we did so online and service was quick. Falafel was not dried out like other places that are Mediterranean. It's our go to spot and chicken is the next thing I want to try there. We ordered 5 and all 5 were great!

Quentin F.

Yelp
Stopped here on my wedding day on the way to the venue for lunch with my wedding party. Amazing food, great service, enjoyed both the beef and lamb gyro meat. Baklava was also amazing!!
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
This place did not have their AC on, felt like a sauna walking in. I got the cauliflower wrap and it was pretty flavorless. Not super impressed. The website said the place closes at 9, but the staff wanted to leave at 7:30. They told us we could stay sitting on the porch and then they all left and closed early. But we were bombarded all night we people wanted to eat here and people who had ordered online and paid already coming to pick up their food face disappointment.
google avatar

Miss B.

Yelp
We loved the quality of the food here. The lamb was juicy and fragrant, the rice well seasoned, the kofta spices were on point and the kofta was well cooked. The plate came with tabbouleh salad and hummus and this was one of the best hummus we had in a long time. Worth the trip and the money. Their arabic coffee was good too!
google avatar

Victoria H.

Yelp
This is some delicious Mediterranean! Everything I've ever had from here is extremely good. Their hummus is to die for, I could eat my weight in it. I usually get a chicken dish but I have also recently tried a beef (I think, my husband ordered it but whatever it was it was good) & I was super impressed. I believe this is a family owned business & they are always quick & friendly. The inside smells sooooo good & is very clean. This is one of our favorite go tos since we don't live far from this location & it's always a healthy option!
google avatar

Keilani F.

Yelp
The food was SO GOOD. I haven't had good Mediterranean food in awhile. The gentlemen working were very kind as well. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Everett T.

Yelp
My wife and I had a strong falafel craving and since Lazeez is the closest option, off to four points we went! We wanted to get a good sense of the menu, so $30 later we had baba ghanouj, falafel, fried okra and a chicken shawarma wrap. I really wanted to like the food more than I did, mainly owing to how friendly the staff are. But everything was very average. The baba ghanouj was the best of the bunch, and unfortunately the falafel was below average. I thought it had a faint fishy taste, which is bizarre since there's no fish on the menu.

Muskan S.

Yelp
The ambiance was really warm and inviting while the service was really good . The cashier was really sweet and helpful. The food I got was chicken wrap it was 10/10
google avatar

Taitem T.

Yelp
We have eaten here twice and it was good. I don't know why they have all these bad reviews. The food is very flavorful, the bread was fresh and the service was fast. The building was a little hot but it the middle of summer in Texas. They had the AC going and it was working extra hard in the cute older building they are in.

Carolyn H.

Yelp
Thought my Shawarma was very delicious. The pita bread and vegetables were all fresh. The service was friendly. Lazeez was very clean. I look forward to going back to try other dishes.

Yelp
This will be a very partial review. I was rushed, could only wolf down a half of an order of tabbouleh, and then had to go on my way. But I would believe the other reviews who say this is a fantastic Syrian place. * * * The menu is not a standard Middle Eastern menu. They have the traditional gyros and shawarma, yes and vegetarian goodies such as hummus. But they have a much larger and fuller menu of fried vegetables. The fried goodies are offered in a variety of formats. A vegetarian can do better here than they can in many other places. * * * The tabbouleh is some of the best I have ever had. Most tabbouleh is grim inedible stuff ... Dry kasha with a little parsley and mint in it, that you have to force down your throat. Other people's tabbouleh is a side dish that reminds you of how good your main dish is. It gives you something to put in the composting heap afterwards. * * * This tabbouleh is really special. The trick is vast amounts of lemon juice. It is light and refreshing. If you were having lamb, the lemon juice would be the perfect thing to balance the fat in the lamb. It is also moist, so you don't have the force the tabbouleh down your throat with a drink. I don't know why the rest of the world doesn't make tabbouleh this way ... But Lazeez recipe is a total keeper. * * * I have to pass through Four Points a lot these days. Checking out their grilled meats, their fried vegetables and their other vegetarian staples would seem like a top order of business. There is fine cooking here.

Yelp
Lunch at Lazeez after visiting Lake Travis. It was nearish to the Oasis that we thought it'd be worth stopping by. This place is really average, not bad but also not that great. Paid $12 for the gyro plate and $12 for the Arabic chicken shawarma plate. The gyro plate was better than the shawarma plate. The shawarma was drowned in garlic paste, and there were barely any pieces of chicken. Also the vegetables that came with it were really bitter and unappetizing. The gyro plate was really average, I wouldn't find myself craving it from here but it's a solid meat and rice combo. The hummus that came with it was actually yummy, but their pita bread was thin and dry. I think $12 for either of these plates is a lot especially given the amount of food but it's better than other things in the area. Lentil soup ($4) was good. Will mention they have a variety of vegan options! They have excellent service and the workers are patient while you order.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by here for some light snacks on our way to our hotel for a quick weekend trip. We had dinner reservations elsewhere so we just grabbed some sides, so for fairness, I don't know how good any of their entrees or meats are. The location is easy to miss if you're not paying attention, tucked into a small business strip on a very busy road. It definitely fits the bill for cafe dining, basic table and chairs, so I wouldn't recommend for a date or anything like that. The food was very hot and fresh though. The falafel was very good, fresh, nice crispy exterior, and the sauces were delicious. The fries were fries. They were definitely made in fresh oil, they were hot and crisp, well seasoned, can't complain. The fried okra was a bit bland, it was cooked good, hot, fresh, crispy, just not much flavor. I had to add quit a bit of salt and dip it in the sauce to really get the flavor to come out. The hummus was the star of the show, beautiful creamy texture, perfect flavor, so smooth, and it was great with the cucumber chips but some of the cucumber looked old and should not have made it to the plate. Overall it was very clean, nothing over the top with the service, nothing horrible. I would be willing to stop by again next time I'm in Bee Cave because I would like to try their meats. I came here based on others reviews and I don't regret it, it was a good basic experience.

Yelp
The food is okay. Good, even, if your hungry and tired from driving on that long stretch of highway. Easy ordering and pick up. They actually smoked the babaganoush, thank goodness! But the majority of things taste just ... okay... to me.
google avatar

Shaan D.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from here, and it was pretty good! Lots of flavor but honestly nothing too special, your typical Mediterranean restaurant. Would love to try it again but it's kind of far from me
google avatar

Keanna M.

Yelp
Yum!!! My husband and I shared the Baba Ghanoush to start. It was very smoky, and different compared to others that I have tried. Not my favorite, but still good! They served this with a side of pita. I got the mix plate with Kofte and Lamb. I ordered it with the tabbouleh and hummus. It also came with rice and pita. I really enjoyed my meal! The hummus was fabulous, the meats were flavorful and juicy, and the tabbouleh was fresh. My husband got the Arabic chicken shawarma. He liked his meal, and it tasted good to me too. I think this would be a good option for picky eaters because it's pretty basic. I would definitely visit again, and try other options on the menu. I think this is a solid middle eastern/ Mediterranean option in my area.
google avatar

Krishan G.

Yelp
Although this place is out of the way, I always try to make my way to it once every 2 weeks. My go-to is the shish tawook, which takes a little bit more time since they cook the kebabs to order. The chicken is always juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. The rice is very tasty. I've tried making rice like it at home and it never comes out as good. I usually get baba ghanoush instead of hummus and spread it on the bread. On another note, the owner is always so kind and friendly when I come in. He is always genuinely welcoming when I come in. I love this place and will keep coming back.
google avatar

Meg H.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a quick dinner to go. Staff said the order would be ready in 10 minutes and they were spot on. It was great walking in as the order was just filled. Ordered two gyros--one chicken, one original. Both tasted fresh and were large portions. Also appreciated they had a variety of sparkling water in the cooler. We'll definitely return.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
Well. I ordered delivery from them tonight and my mind was blown. I love Mediterranean food and this is exceptional! Based on the reviews I read I ordered the Mixed Plate with lamb and chicken. Both were seasoned nicely and not dry. The sauces were nice and complemented everything. I also ordered the Falafel (so amazing and not dry!) I love falafel and this is some of the best I have eaten. Great hummus. The only complain I have is the pita bread. Maybe make it thicker instead of so large. I like my pita soft and warm. But the baklava made up for what the pita left desiring. Maybe the best baklava I have ever eaten. Yum. If you are looking for Mediterranean food, this is your place. It beats Halal Brothers and Levant hands down.
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
I have no words!!! This place is AMAZING! Top tier flavors and the family that owns this place has super nice young men working up front. I love Mediterranean food and this definitely top tier. They've got it down. I'm sure this place will blow up in no time. Great service, & great food! Definitely will be back. Chicken shawarma and falafel appetizer were 10/10!!
google avatar

Seth F.

Yelp
Excellent family run local place. Authentic and delicious. Plenty of variety and offerings and he makes a delicious homemade toum emulsified garlic sauce that is . Highly recommend.

Ava W.

Yelp
Food was very good! Food came out fast and the staff was sweet. The Baklava is so good
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
Got chicken shawarma tonight. The chicken was very dry without any sauce. We've ordered Lazeez before and had a good experience. Maybe this was just a fluke.
google avatar

Ronda S.

Yelp
Small place/ great food. I had a vegetarian plate with falafel, tabulé, hummus & dolmas - dine in. Yummy My hubby had a gyro with a side of hummus , rice and some tomatoes/cucumber salad.
google avatar

Nathalie H.

Yelp
This is the most authentic Mediterranean food in Austin. I have tried gyro plates in many places around the world and this is the best I've tried. The gyro plate comes with a homemade salad, hummus, gyro and rice. The prices are unbeatable for the quality and size of the plates. A friend introduced a group of our friends to eat here after being on the boat in Lake Travis and I couldn't say no. The music was traditional and upbeat. Bathroom is well taken care of. Food was ready for 9 people quite quickly. I bless the manager as he was so nice to let us stay after, as our group was enjoying ourselves so much we didn't even realize we stayed past their closing.
google avatar

Bailee C.

Yelp
I'm from the area of Dearborn Michigan. Dearborn has the highest Arabic population in America. Therefore, having THEE BEST Mediterranean food. Lazeez is the first Mediterranean restaurant that I've been to in Florida, Alabama and Texas that has legitimate Arabic food. I got a chicken shawarma. Hubs got the beef shawarma. We split grape leaves. There garlic sauce is perfect. Everything was fresh AF. Even the fricken lattice was delicious. The reason for 4 stars. We got a to go order on our way back home to Corpus Christi. Hubbs asked for no tomato extra pickle. Unfortunately, they left off all the Arabic pickles, which is just as good as the garlic. So I had to give him one of mine.
google avatar

Cheryl M.

Yelp
This is our first time to this little restaurant. Looks to be family owned. I thought their prices were extremely reasonable and they have a good variety. I got the vegetarian plate which was wonderful. Everything was made to order. Also got their lentil soup which had a great flavor. We definitely will be back.

Amy A.

Yelp
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, especially on vacation. We are here from Dallas & decided to stop by and grab some dinner to go on the way to our Airbnb. The service was just okay- not a lot of communication/not overly friendly but took the order & let me know when it was ready. The restaurant itself was what I'd call "hole in the wall"... it was a bit stuffy so not sure I'd want to eat there. That aside, the star of the show is the food. The food is so good that I could care less how friendly the staff is or charming the restaurant is. We got the mixed plate and fried cheese- hands down the best gyro meat/hummus I have had & we frequent many Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. Very reasonable prices & we will for sure be back on our way out of town to get some to take back with us.
google avatar

Adolf S.

Yelp
Great food! The owners are very friendly and welcoming! Great outdoor seating area as well. I would recommend the gyro wrap or kabobs.

Joseph B.

Yelp
Was late getting my order, food they sent was spoiled. The eggplant dish was spoiled sour. Will never order again from here. I'm pretty upset about that.
google avatar

Vero H.

Yelp
The food was good here, not great but good! Lol When i went, there wasnt anyone eating in, it was mostly take out orders. The staff was super nice, i asked to change up my order for some different substitutions than what was on the menu and they did it without hesitation. Highly recommend

Violet N.

Yelp
LACK OF RESPECT FOR CUSTOMER TIME - Twice I placed an order for pickup. Both times I arrived at pickup time or later. First time they never saw the online order. Only saw it when I went in to pickup food. Had to wait, wait, wait. Same thing today. Pick up time 11:15 (placed order an hour earlier). Arrived 11:30. Food still being cooked and needed to wait. Should have started the order at 11 am when he used the excuse that's when they open. Waited till 11:34 and had enough. Cancelled my order. Waiting for a refund. We'll see if it happens otherwise will dispute with my bank. ALSO - what is this NONSCENSE now about adding another $1.00 to your online order for you as the customer to come to them to pickup? Owners, you have until 7-21-24 to refund my money to my card before I call my bank.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Great food! I grew up on middle eastern food so I'm a tough critic ! I'm a regular here and owner is a great guy I always recommend this spot as it's very authentic !
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Just yes. I used to go to Almarah down the street and their Mediterranean was meh. Then Lazeez opened up & decided to give it a shot to see if it was better - omg, yes. I've gotten their plates and wraps, typically with cauliflower or falafel, & a side of dolmas or hummus. I'm never disappointed! Their prices are great and don't break the bank like most places. It's really great to be able to get delicious healthy food at a decent price. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. Lots of meat free options, great for vegetarians!

Shea C.

Yelp
I love Mediterranean food and eat it often, but this place blew every place I've tried out of the water. I went classic for my first time trying Lazeez and got the gyro plate, and not only was the gyro meat cooked and seasoned to perfection, but the hummus was the best I've ever had. The pita bread was so fresh, and the taziki sauce was perfect. Definitely going to become a regular here and can't wait to try more on the menu!

Sayel A.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service I got the mix Plate and the meat was fresh juicy and so flavorful and their green sauce is to die for
google avatar

Bita S.

Yelp
High quality middle eastern food. Nice personnel with great service. I love the lamb kabob and Shawarma.
google avatar

Cristian S.

Yelp
Small but cozy place with Excellent food. The lentil soup is delicious, will be back for sure !
google avatar

Marion C.

Yelp
The falafel alone is what I would go back for and recommend. Honestly everything we tried was really good except the baklava was not crispy and I am a bit sensitive with texture of foods especially if I'm expecting a specific texture and it's the opposite. Not bad flavor though I just could tolerate it but my partner ate it. I would die happy if their falafel was the last thing I consumed- NEVER CHANGE YOUR FALAFEL GAME, LAZEEZ!

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Everything was great. Food, service and the atmosphere. I just moved in the area and will definitely be making this my new Mediterranean joint.
google avatar

O D.

Yelp
Wow so delicious! I've been lucky enough to travel around the Middle East a little and wow this food definitely delivers on authenticity and deliciousness! Those pickles, seriously. Wow. The atmosphere is lovely, the family that runs the place is incredible And overall I'm just thrilled that they've made their way to Austin to provide quality food. It's an honor to have this restaurant here. Thank you.

Dhwanil S.

Yelp
This is a nice little addition to the 620/2222 area. It seems to be run by a family. The food is super tasty and fresh. We ordered a veggie plate with falafel and a chicken shawarma. We got to-go and they gave very generous portion sizes for both for the price. Their humus was very good and also the side salad. My wife liked the falafel and I liked their chicken shawarma. While waiting we tasted their baklava which was good too.
