Ordered carry-out yesterday for my first time visiting Lazo's. I placed my order with a scheduled pick-up for three hours later. I arrived and found the owner realized my order wasn't started. The owner apologized, went into the kitchen to review my order with the cooks and told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes.
My food was ready within 10 minutes. I ordered 3 combination dinners (taco, enchilada, and tostada with rice and refried beans), for my mother, sister, and me, as well as a small order or guacamole. Every single bite was outstanding! My mother and sister concurred. The meats were well-seasoned, flavorful, and tender, the tostada shell was strong enough to stay together the entire time it was being eaten, and it was strong finish to a rocky start.
Enchiladas come with red sauce or salsa verde. The young lady on the phone said the red sauce was spicy, and the verde was mild, but my verde had a little kick to it, and when I tried the red sauce, it was very mild, but not as flavorful as the verde. The salsa verde wasn't too spicy, by any means, but it had just enough kick to notice it, and it was delicious. Lazo's DOES have another red sauce that is spicy, but I didn't want it, so perhaps the young lady was thinking the spicy red sauce was the only red sauce offered.
The bottom line is that all of the food was excellent, I will be a repeat customer! Also, going forward, I'll remember to call when I'm on my way to pick up my order if I place an order more than 30 minutes in advance.
Also, note to Lazo's staff, I wore a mask when I entered your business for your safety, so I think you should be wearing masks and gloves in the restaurant business for your customers' safety during a pandemic, or at least wash hands or use hand sanitizer when giving the customer their food order. Thanks!
