I really wanted to love this place and give it a high rating, but unfortunately the experience missed the mark.
My friend and I were seated after a short wait, given drinks, and then waited 20–25 minutes before anyone returned to take our order. The restaurant didn’t seem very busy, so the delay was surprising. When our server did come over, she was pleasant and answered my menu questions (I like to know what I’m ordering), but overall the pacing of service was very slow.
When the food arrived, it was underwhelming. We ordered the braised wagyu beef cheeks with potatoes, peppers and onions, tomato harissa chutney, and chimichurri. While it was cooked properly, every component was severely underseasoned. We also ordered the hot honey roasted carrots, which were $17, and added grilled chicken. The chicken itself was ok but again under seasoned.
The biggest disappointment was the strawberry shortcake French toast. If it’s called shortcake, it shouldn’t be Texas toast. If it’s French toast, it shouldn’t be dry. And if it’s strawberry anything, there should be at least one strawberry on the plate. Unfortunately, it missed on all fronts. We also had two cocktails that had to be sent back to be adjusted before they were enjoyable.
Presentation matters, especially for brunch, and the dishes didn’t look appealing... they were kinda sloppy. When we expressed our concerns, the response was disappointing. The server mentioned she didn’t like the food either and seemed to have a “what would you like me to do?” attitude, which didn’t help resolve anything. We boxed up our food and barely ate it; my friend didn’t even take hers home.
I think this place has potential, but between the slow service, bland food, drink issues, and lack of resolution, it wasn’t a good brunch experience for us. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it for food or drinks.
