The Best Restaurants Along Coastal Mississippi | Eater New Orleans

"Recently voted the number one bakery by Gulf Coast Woman magazine, this French-Vietnamese bakery is loved for its fresh daily pastries (the cinnamon rolls! the danish!), French bread, and a selection of Vietnamese banh mi. Bubble teas, smoothies, and specialty cakes are also available. Le Bakery’s crusty baguettes are served at many of the best restaurants on the coast." - Beth D’Addono

We have been coming to Biloxi for years and for some reason never tried this wonderful place. But this time we tried it and we loved it! We went back everyday of our vacation and we are still craving it! The coconut curry banh mi po boy is fabulous. Actually all of them were fabulous and so was the steamed bun filled with meat and veggies. The cinnamon roll and pecan praline roll are the best I’ve ever had and we love cinnamon rolls! These were so delicious and not dry. The Vietnamese Iced coffee is so good I could drink one everyday! The owner was there working everyday. She seems like a very hard working, kind person. We were amazed that this place has been open for over 20 years yet the quality remains excellent. That’s a lot of hard work and dedication! Thank you! We look forward to visiting again and again.

Google
Super cute spot. Came in for a couple of things for the drive home. The orange Creamsicle Boba was lovely as were the turnovers. Reasonable prices. I will be back!

We travel down this way from ohio every year. This year we found Le Bakery and we will definitely be bsck! Absolutely incredible! The food was exquisite, you can taste the love and passion in the food. Atmosphere and service were excellent. 11/10!!

Google
Everything was wonderful and I got some of all of it! The pecan roll was deliciously gooey. We got a fried banana wrapped in sticky rice that was not overly sweet and came with a coconut dipping sauce. Very unique.

Google
Le Bakery is absolutely to die for! I ordered a bun, some pork, and a couple of turnovers, along with a Vietnamese coffee with boba and an Asian dessert called Che. If you love coconut and red beans, you’re in for a treat—it was delightful! The pork buns were incredibly fresh and warm, just perfect. I noticed everyone around me was ordering bags and bags of their rolls and baguettes, and it’s easy to see why. All their pastries are definitely worth trying—they’re simply amazing. This place is clearly a labor of love, family-owned, and you can feel it in the service and the quality of the food. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. We all need to work hard to keep this place open because it’s truly special. I would recommend Le Bakery to everyone I know—this is a gem you don’t want to miss!

Google
Pleasant surprise to find this banh mi place. I’ve been to many banh mi shops. This place is one of the best that I’ve been to. Fresh bread and nice touch to their unique flavors. Not a place to sit and dine though there are seats. More of a to go place. Still highly recommended!

Google
I received an amazing warm welcome and service from Le Bakery! I got the lemongrass pork and Vietnamese sausage bahn mi. The bread was soft and the meat was *chefs kiss*! I highly recommend grabbing lunch and a sweet treat from this cute little shop.

Google
We have stopped in a few times and every item we have gotten we have marveled at just how good they are! The fresh bread loaf was a delight. The meat pies and turnovers have the most unbelievably flaky dough that just melts in your mouth. The king cake was leaps and bounds better than that other brand's coveted king cake that people line up for. This place is the real deal and we will definitely keep coming back!

Yelp
I have never eaten anything from LeBakery that was not fresh and delicious. I have used their breads for large events. All were impressed with the fancy shaped breads being both awesome and tasty. They have managed to stay alive throughout a long road project. Give them a try!

Yelp
The worst banh mi I've ever eaten! This isn't banh mi...the bread is not flakey or crunchy. The sour vegetables should be sweet and sour, not only vinegar. The lemongrass pork did not have any flavor, not pork, not lemongrass. The smell of the sandwich is very unappetizing...I thought it was old but it's the vinegar in the vegetables. I'm Vietnamese and this is not a banh mi...if this was made by a Vietnamese person, they should be ashamed of themselves! Not recommended! Get yourself a real banh mi elsewhere!

Yelp
Le Bakery a small Vietnamese bakery off the beaten path and is one of my favorite bakeries on the gulf coast. There is usually only one person working behind the counter, but they quickly take your order.. usually by just packing up your selections in a white box for you to pay and be on your way. There is an extensive selection of turnovers with about every possible filling you can think of. Their selection of turnover fillings included everything from Apple to Pineapple and Chocolate to Pina Colada just to make things exciting. I do not live in Biloxi, so on my visits I buy one of every turnover so as to last me for as long as possible.

Yelp
Your first stop for bread , turnovers and coffee . You have your choice of s wide selection of balled breakfast breads . She sells out fast and sometimes long line

Yelp
You can't get awesome food like this anywhere. The best sandwich I've ever had. They make you feel comfortable if you don't know what something means in Vietnamese. I didn't. lol.

Yelp
Some of the best baked goods on the Coast. The service is always excellent as well. I love the jalapeño bread. Delish.

Yelp
Great bread, pastries, boba and best of all is their selection of banh Mei sandwiches. These reminded me of how I lived on and loved the Vietnamese street when I served there from 1964 - 1966.
google avatar

Judy E.

Yelp
Best French bread ever! People drive for miles from other Coastal cities to get their bread and pastries.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Get there early. Limit of 8 people in the store at a time, so there will be a line outside. Get in line; you might have to wait 5-10 minutes. Now, ensure you are with someone so you can get several items and share. Buy some of the best bread and pastries you'll ever eat (sacré bleu - sorry France). Take them to the small beach in Ocean Springs with a cup of fresh coffee from Bright Eyed Brew Co., located on Washington Ave., Ocean Springs. Savor the moment and wonder what the hoi polloi are doing.

Yelp
Best baked goods EVER! Sweet and sumptuous! Everything is out of this world!! You can special order cakes for special occasions and they do Not disappoint!!

Yelp
Best Local French bread. Anytime my family wants fresh French bread, this hole in the wall is our go to! Reminds me of our home. A little back story, we grew up down the street from this business. Before hurricane Katrina it was a small Vietnamese grocery store loved by many locals. The storm wiped out a good bit of Biloxi, including our home and their business. They decided to reopen as a bakery and since then, the same family won the heart of many. Inside as you can see, their wall of fame tells you their story. Not only do they serve fresh French bread, there are cakes, desserts, pastries and hot sandwiches you can order to go. I ordered the Vietnamese sausage, chicken curry(has some Heat) and cold cut to go. Prepared meat are seasoned and pairs well with the pickled veggies. Sandwiches are all under $6. Come get your quick fix.

Yelp
Awesome product. Great service! Wish I lived closer than 300 miles away! Best praline rolls I we ever tasted!
google avatar

Yelp
Good enough to go two times in three days. If that doesn't say enough, not sure what will. Friendly staff, decent amount of parking. That bread though, top notch for sure. Tasty banh mi. Flaky pastry. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
We had Le Bakery to do our wedding and by far it exceeded any exceptions we had! Both cakes were absolutely stunning especially the detail in our cakes truly left me speechless! Thank you to Sue Le Bakery for being such a blessing and being our true friend m! We couldn't have done without her and was the only cake we would have wanted!

Yelp
Definitely one of the best bakeries on the coast! Amazing pastries, and they're so cheap for the quality of what you're getting! Every time I've gone I've been greeted with a smile and welcoming into the store. The workers are always so helpful and very descriptive when telling you what everything is. It's small inside, and they only allow a few people in at a time, but there's seating outside next to a beautiful mural. I love this place, and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Walking in, you are welcomed by displays filled with various pastries, breads, cakes, and a few Vietnamese snacks. I ordered a couple of banh mi, turnovers, and pate chaud. The lady working there was super nice. We chatted for a bit and I really liked the vibe here. They prefer that you wait outside for your order which was fine since they brought it out to you. While I love the atmosphere of this cute little bakery, I can't say I enjoyed the food. The bread for the banh mi was good but there was something off about my sandwich. I finally realized it was the pickled veggies being too sour. Not gone bad kind of sour but it needed a little more sweetness to balance it out. The turnovers would've been better with just a little more color/toastiness to the pastry. The filling was nice. But, the most disappointing was the pate chaud. The pastry was good on this one but the meat filling was salty. I couldn't finish it. Maybe it was an off day for them. I would come back to support this local business and try other Viet snacks like the xoi and the banh bao.

Mai V.

Yelp
It was my first time and I went here looking for bahn mi and was a little disappointed. The bread was great, the meats (lemongrass pork and roasted pork) were kind of bland. The pickled veggies were a little flat. The turnovers were flaky and delicious, although, a little less filling would balance it out better.

Yelp
I have been going to Le Bakery for years for their outstanding sweets and the best bubble tea I've ever had. I finally decided to try the Bhan Mi (Chicken Curry) and OMG it was fresh, delicious and plentiful all for under $6.00. They are a shining star on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Yelp
Came to Biloxi 4 times this year and never stop by this place. Nice small bakery with many options. Love the banh mi bread! Ordered avocado smoothie with coffee jelly and lemon grass pork and pork sausage banh mi. All were delicious! The prices are great too and the food is fresh. Glad I went there.

Yelp
We came on a day trip from Los Angeles to visit the beautiful city of Biloxi. While here, we found this gem of a jewel restaurant. What an awesome place to eat. The Banh Mi sandwich selection is unlike any I've ever seen in LA. Their Lemongrass Banh mi was my favorite (although all 3 we ate were amazing). Loved the hospitality and the owners are so nice! Lastly our Cinnamon roll was amazing. Very light and full of flavor! Wish you guys had your shop in Los Ángeles as I would be there daily....great experience.

Yelp
We visited last week and the Croissants were amazing, and the danishes and the turnovers but the King Cakes and Praline pecan rolls were over the top. I have been buying king cakes for years but the cream cheese and the Sue Moas were absolutley to die for. My husband who loves sweets but never thinks anything is over the top had to confess the pecan rolls were the best ever. I will be heading back next month. Items are made fresh daily and they are delicious. This small off the beaten path Vietnamese bakery is worth a detour.

Regina R.

Yelp
Always excellent food and service. There is always a line of people waiting to get inside at 9:00am. Recommend getting there early or calling ahead.

Leslie H.

Yelp
This morning would have been my first time to purchase from this establishment, as I have heard good things about their breads. Unfortunately, they didn't have any ready this morning and when I tried to ask the lady when they would be, she yelled at me to not talk to her while she was taking an order! I decided to spend my money elsewhere.
google avatar

Pedro V.

Yelp
Can never do wrong with any pastry here my go to is the cherry cream cheese turn over or the lemon. My wife loves any of the croissants here. Bahn mi and the iced coffee is great too. And when it's king cake season this place is a must have!
google avatar

Denny S.

Yelp
This small bakery is well a worth trip for a yummy variety of pastries that will make you the hero of your group! Everything that we have purchased here has been delicious, so I can't recommend any single pastry. They have everything from chocolate filled pastries to blueberry. You can't go wrong just by buying one of each! They also box everything up for you when checking out. If you need fresh French Bread this is also where you go.
google avatar

Darby J.

Yelp
This is a phenomenal hole in the wall place! The coconut curry banh mi is literally perfect. It's got spice but not too much heat and is very fresh feeling! Don't just order pastries -- they're good but the food and bubble tea are even better!
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
We stopped here on the way out of Biloxi heading north to another town to visit family. I was excited to find a Vietnamese bakery. After moving from Southern California 6 years ago, I have missed finding bakery goods that are not too sweet and having iced coffee. We grabbed a variety of pastries, all of which were great! I also had an iced coffee for the ride. The staff was very friendly!
google avatar

Wakitra T.

Yelp
Praline pecan buns...pork steamed buns.. Vietnamese poboys... Vietnamese coffee, apple pecan raisin bread!! I could go on.. let me just say, I'm well on my way to tryin every item in this place! If you need a special occasion cake, or just coffee and pastries for an AMAZING kickstart to your day, don't bypass Le Bakery! Miss Kim is so nice and she makes great recommendations.. make sure you get there early to grab the specialty items before they sell out.. they open at 9:00 and if you're smart, you'll be there by 8:45. Enjoy!
google avatar

Lucy H.

Yelp
love the bakery goods here and an essential banh mi place. I like the french bread, but it isn't super traditional french bread! tea and coffee is great here too
google avatar

Patrick W.

Yelp
I never write Yelp reviews, but Le Bakery deserves the kudos. My wife and got this recommendation from our waiter at Mary Mahoney's (another incredible dining experience). Delicious pastries and bread. A real gulf coast gem.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Best Carmel Pecan Praline roll I have ever eaten! The Bahn Mi was amazing as well. We come here every time we visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Wholeheartedly recommend.
google avatar

Monique W.

Yelp
Why is this place so good!!!?? I got the curry sandwich. It has some spice but not too much. I wish they had cut it in half, would have been easier to eat. I also got a chocolate almond drink with boba. DELICIOUS!!! I also of course got a few pastries. Took a bite out of all of them like to adult that I am. At the moment they still aren't letting you eat inside the restaurant. They also only let so many people in at one time.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
Oh 'Rona 'Rona 'Rona.... Another 'Rona 'Rona review.. Wait outside, "3 in da sto" at any given moment... Place your order, wait outside, then they bring you delicious food... The place is legit. One of the better banh mi's I have ever had... And also, a beautiful delicious turnover for dessert... Like I said; the place is legit. Every-THANG-THANG... Legit.

Carrington J.

Yelp
Amazing little bakery that definitely lives up to all of the hype. The jalepeno cheddar bread is for sure the best I have ever had. The pastries are delicious as well. Can't wait to go back and try some other things!
google avatar

Chase R.

Yelp
Plain and simple, this is the best banh mi I've ever had. I had the Lemongrass Pork and Vietnamese Sausage and it was delicious. I fully intend to try all their offerings now. The smoothies make a great pairing and it comes in at a reasonable price. Great place to grab lunch!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
It's been 8 years since I was last here. In the past two weeks, I've been there twice. They're still the top spot for bahn mi and bubble tea. I'm glad to see their quality hasn't slipped. This place won't let you down. It's a must visit every time I'm here.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't say enough positive things about this place! Wonderful customer service, amazing food, overall excellent. My daughters and I love this place. We always go here when we are visiting the coast.

Hugh O.

Yelp
Pastries, banh mi, wonderful baguettes! What's not to like. Theirs is what is meant by " serve with crusty bread." And they have the pistolette size too!
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Love this place! It is a banh mi, poboy mixed sandwich shop and bakery. I believe that it's basically just banh mi, they add mayo to the sandwich which I guess makes it poboy? I'm not really sure how this is a poboy mix into the sandwich. I got the lemongrass pork banh mi and the coconut curry chicken banh mi. You couldn't really taste the coconut it was mainly just curry. The bread was GREAT, soft yet crunchy and the meat didn't make the bread soggy or anything. The sandwich held up pretty well. Both sandwiches were $4.75. I also got the milk tea bobba which was great! It wasn't too sweet it was perfect. Which the bobbas are $3.75. The staffs are SUPER nice and friendly, they gave us so many advice and recommendations about the town and where to go. They have their own parking lot, the restaurant itself is very casual as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible bakery every time we go to Biloxi we make a point to go to the Le Bakery. Best fresh bread Rolland pastries but make sure you go early as they sell out quickly. Everything is delicious they also make some great Vietnamese sandwiches this place is also easy on the pocket book
google avatar

LaToya L.

Yelp
I love visiting Le Bakery when I'm in the Biloxi area. They have fresh baked pastries daily and the po boys are delicious. I ordered the marinated chicken bahn mi po boy and it was really good. I also like the bubble teas but didn't order one that day. The staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable. Check them out
google avatar

Yelp
I love this Bakery !! The food is always fresh ! If you need a cake then this is the place to go !!
google avatar

Ivylis R.

Yelp
SO MUCH YUM!!!! This is a family owners mom and pops that has fresh pastries, makes cakes to order and has delicious sandwiches. This is the perfect place to run to when you have a quick lunch break. The service is fast and very friendly! When you get your sub you can order chips with it or just eat it how it is. You can also add sauces to your sandwich as well. RECOMMENDATIONS: If you get a chance try their bubble tea with one of their subs! It will ROCK UR WORLD!!! Nothing like a refreshing ice cold taro tea on a hot day! I also recommend the chicken curry sandwich. It had the perfect balance of sweet and spice to it. If you haven't tried this place you must! Support your locally owned businesses XD

Mary L.

Yelp
Call before you go! Posted open times aren't correct! Staff were there at 11:00 am on Friday, but they announced through locked doors that they were closed. After driving an hour, it was unfortunate.
google avatar

Steven G.

Yelp
I went during lunch and made a run for all of my coworkers. I had the pork banh mi, and it was ok. It was a good portion and the typical price I expect to pay for banh mi. It was not as flavorful as I hoped but it did have the expected fresh tasting vegetables including my favorite cilantro. All five of my coworkers have the same ok response and they had ordered a variety of pork and chicken banh mi. I also got a variety of turnovers and everybody loved them. The standout by far was the chocolate. The guava cream cheese was also one of my favorite. All in all will probably be back but just won't go out of my way for it.
google avatar

Khoi N.

Yelp
For the best bubble tea and pastry shop, this place has it all and more! From che Thai to bubble tea to even banh mi! We ordered the Apple turnover, the chocolate almond pastry with che Thai and Coffee bubble tea. The turnover was devine. The way the pastry flaked when breaking apart with the fresh apple filling made the afternoon. The chocolate almond pastry is one to definitely have as the crunch of the almond combined with their pastry was glorious. To end the hot day with a cold vietnamese coffee bubble tea and their ice cold che Thai is how summer is supposed to be spent. Definitely a go to when you are having a sweet tooth craving!

Yelp
Don't blink or you will miss this place. I was meeting up a friend for lunch and we weren't sure where to go. We stumbled on this scrolling through yelp. We thought why not... This place is small but packs a lot of delicious bread smell! The giant loafs of breads are cheap and amazingly fresh! We missed out on the Jalepeno bread but were able to pre-order the Asiago bread to pick up at 10 am. If you want a specific bread...order ahead! Don't take that chance. I also got the Che Xuong Xa Hot Lu. It reminds me of home! Its exactly the flavors its suppose to be and the red hot lu has the crunch that its suppose to have. I would probably cut the sweetness down just a tad cause i'm not use to eating this as much anymore. The banh mi was amazing! I got the XaXiu/ Xiu Mai. I added pate and opted out the sauce. It was sooo flavorful and stuffed full of meat! I can't believe how much meat was in it! I wish i could have taken a pic but I ate this the next day at work so it wouldn't be a good representation of its arrival to my hands. Next time I come back...i will definitely take more pics!
google avatar

Yelp
So many delicious things to choose from here. The tofu banh mi can be made vegan by omitting the mayo. The coconut yuca pie is vegan and it's absolutely delicious. Not too sweet and the texture is incredible. There is usually a line at breakfast and one at lunch time. Plan ahead so you have time to wait, just in case. It's worth the wait though. They make their own bread for the poboys and banh mi. It's fantastic. They also have a pretty big selection of pastries. They're all in a case right at the front and they look great, though only the one is vegan. They're happy to tell you ingredients if you ask. There's one table up front for seating and several more further back. They also have hot sauces on squeeze bottles if you are dining in.

MrThickness27 ..

Yelp
great food great drinks great people, doesnt get any better than that bruvskis!!!!!!!

Yelp
Came in today for an Avocado bubble tea and some pastries. I also picked up steamed rice cakes. Will definitely come back for a Bahn Mi. They also have Asian sweets/ snacks like rice cake filled with mung bean, steamed rice with banana or bean. Oh, and Sao Pao. Asian drinks in the cooler as well. The family who runs the store are extremely helpful and friendly. You can tell they love their customers and the customers love them too.
