Amazing and super fresh food in a cozy, intimate setting. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The menu is creative, seasonal, and always changing, which keeps things exciting every time you visit. A great spot for food lovers who appreciate quality ingredients and great service!

The food is excellent. Aĺl their ingredients are well prepared ahead by 3 chefs behind the bar counter. After receiving the ordered by the guests, the chefs will work on the food and materials at their respective departments. Then the waiter will be delivered them to your table. Most of the dishes are simple and not complicated to prepare or cooking needed, May be that's why no kitchen is required. The taste of most dishes was a delicious and freshly blend with their unique sauce or dressing. May be it was the mistake ordered the Saumon Marine and Sashimi. I was the guest, so I can't really choose from the menu. They are ok, but I am a crazy fan of raw fish. For that, one should only eat at the high-quality Sushi & Sashimi bar. Highly recommended, and reservation is needed.

Loved the food. The experience. The ambiance. I wanted to try a dessert that looked so good but I was so full. The chef in front of us made us a mini version of it. Definitely have to go back!!!

Cozy sushi bar on Rue Dragon in Saint Germain, with excellent selection of unique dishes, and fabulous cocktails, very enjoyable for a short evening out (open from 19h00 until 23h00 for diner).

Bar des Pres is an excellent restaurant heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine. This is not a traditional Japanese restaurant. It’s something more. The food is very modern, elegant, and completely delicious. The Japanese chefs know what they’re doing. The interiors are minimal yet hyper chic. Service is impeccable. All in all an outstanding restaurant!

A Lackluster Fusion Experience, maybe not even worth mentioning so that’s why I will do exactly that. To give you a bit of a taste. I made a reservation and took a taxi to visit this establishment, which I must note is primarily a cocktail bar, not a traditional Japanese restaurant. Nonetheless, I will focus on the food. Over the past decade, Japanese-inspired cuisine has become a staple in major cities worldwide. Despite some reservations, I decided to dine here at the insistence of my friends. Unfortunately, I found the fusion dishes to lack creativity and authenticity. Nondescript flavors and totally random combinations. A notable observation was the presence of a rice cooker behind the bar, which felt out of place in the otherwise polished and posh Parisian setting, though it did remind me fondly of Japan. The food does not remind me of Japan at all!!! (This is certainly not a compliment) The sushi remained borderline acceptable, but not good definitely, with the main issue being the rice. None of the ingredient combinations left a memorable impression. Nothing was just sparkling. The love is not there! As someone who takes Japanese cuisine seriously, I must express my disappointment. Three out of six tiny "to share" plates relied heavily on avocados, with only four to five different ingredient combinations in total. Additionally, being asked by two different waiters six times how the food was became rather tiresome rather quickly. As I kindly reminded them, if you need to ask more than once, it’s likely not great. In summary, the experience was disappointing but not entirely unexpected.

Google
Simply an amazing experience, Le Bar des Près surpassed my expectations on their food, the service and the atmosphere. In Paris, Japanese food, especially sushi / sashimi is very hard to find good quality…Japanese food requires lots of attention to detail and balance, even simple aspects like getting the rice perfect…plus Japanese food is very traditional and set, you simply don’t do much innovation and change things up. So I was a bit wary of having Japanese food with a French influence…happy to report all the dishes were next level and amazing, new ideas with a twist that were delicious. The sushi was very well prepared and was so happy to have proper sushi in Paris …so hard to find. I was most impressed by the sharing plates though, they would take a Japanese approach to start with something simple as raw fish and then add layers of complexity via sometimes Japanese ingredients like yuzu or maybe something French like black truffle…each sharing dish was a new experience and each very unique and surprising in a very good way. Ordered several of the tasting plates and after each round, got the menu again and ordered another round of different plates. Not one was disappointing…trusted the chef 100% after this. Highlights for me were the Galette craquante with avocado…almost had a Mexican inspired touch to it. Also the scallops with miso and sesame, light, fresh, well balanced and very flavorful. Also yellow tail with yuzu, passion fruit and avocado…enjoyed this one immensely. Even the salad of spinach, yuzu, black truffle and shaved dried fish / katsuobushi …was epic in flavor, totally worked so well. One aspect of Japanese cuisine that is sometimes doesn’t shine as bright is Japanese desserts…luckily the French are stellar with desserts and I highly recommend the Perles du Japon with coconut milk, mango and lime…was like a Japanese version of mango sticky rice but with tapioca…loved it.

Google
We paid 210 euros for an average spinach salad , one sushi roll, 24 euros for rasberries with vanilla chantilly 3 spoon and 3 drinks! the price was insanely high compared to quality and quantity . The manager was not friendly at all . I will never come back

Yelp
The best sushi you'll have in Paris. Amazing. Simple. Fast. And the flavors are ridiculous. We thought we made reservations at Dragon but this place is part of the same restaurant group and across the street. Damn. I'd eat here everyday if I could.

Yelp
Lights out top notch - will be back. Tuna avocado pizza, nigiri pieces, crispy rice, wagyu

Yelp
We have been in France for 18 days and this was our last night. Unfortunately, it was our only disappointing eating experience. We made a reservation in advance. When we showed up, there were two empty tables, and we asked to be seated at one of them, but they said they were only for groups of three or four and we could only sit at the bar. A few minutes later, both of the empty tables were filled with couples. We then proceeded to wait to order drinks at the bar for about 20 minutes. The dishes were served very quickly and, yes, they were excellent. When we were leaving, we were asked by the bartender if everything was OK and I said that it was upsetting to be lied to about the tables. We saw her speaking to the manager. After that, she just told us that the couples at the tables had had reservations for more than two (but this seem clearly to be a pretext) The manager did not even bother to come over despite our complaint. It is very expensive, but it if it had even average service, it might be worth it. Stay away.

Yelp
Went in for some cocktails with the girlfriend after following two other couples in, still about half the restaurant was empty so plenty of seating, and we're told oh dinner only, not drinks... Umm ok, problem is you've got a bunch of people sitting along the bar with only drinks in front of them, we basically felt turned away for being English speakers. Whether true or not, why would you turn people away who come ready to buy some drinks and sit at the bar when you aren't even full? Anyway, they way we were escorted out felt very rushed and rude, to hell with this place imo.

Yelp
I had the exact same experience as the prior reviewer. Empty bit would not allow a 20 minute glass of wine? Went to the Sicilian restaurant a few doors down (18) and it was friendly and fabulous.

Genevieve W.

Yelp
Turned us away at the door because we wanted to have a fancy cocktail at the half empty bar. The BAR, which is for drinks as I understand it, but I guess they don't need money from Americans. No indication on the website that we you can't get drinks.

Yelp
I would 100% recommend this restaurant! It was probably some of the best sushi I've had in Paris so far! The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and darkly lit, perfect for date night or catching up with a friend. Anything on the menu is sure to be amazing thanks to Chef Cyril Lignac. The food also comes very quickly, never mind the fact that a reservation is always necessary bc the restaurant is always full- and for good reason! I'm planning definitely planning to come back here soon!
