Service is nice and fast. The quality of food is good compared to the price. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but acceptable.

Great experience, the service was amazing and so was the food! And very good prices for the quality

Google
Great experience, we went for food for lunch and also for drinks in the evening and the staff was very friendly : Kylian and Octave especially. I recommend the duck. Great place for good vibes and a festive drink in the evening with music.

One of the only places you can get pintxos in town. Great to soak I the vibes. Nice size plates of razor clam at very reasonable prices.

A total disappointment: overpriced, terrible service, and awful food My experience at this restaurant was, without a doubt, one of the worst. The food was bland, poorly presented, and of a quality that in no way justifies the outrageous prices. The service was completely inattentive, with unfriendly and disorganized staff. The most absurd part? €8 for a 1-liter bottle of water. Absolutely ridiculous. This place seems more focused on squeezing money out of customers than on providing a decent dining experience. And to top it all off, we left hungry. The portions were laughably small—more like tastings than actual meals—yet priced like high-end cuisine. I won’t be coming back, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better places for much less.

Google
What a cool place with a rich history. It’s right next to the market, where we got our appetite whetted with the amazing delicacies. The pintxos (tapas) were amazing in variety and flavor! There is something for everyone here.

Yelp
Bar Jean is a great place to have some delicious food. We came here pretty late and they were still open and very lively! We were sat immediately, even on a very busy night and the service was prompt and the server spoke English and French! A bit of Spanish too, which made it a bit easier to communicate. The menu was in French but we were able to get translations using our phone. We ordered: Cheese plate Gambas Fried Calamari Bread basket We also got two glasses of their most popular wine, but unfortunately I forgot to jot down the names. They both tasted great. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Wow so glad we stopped here and ate!! We got the mussels and they were THE BEST mussels we have ever had! They were served with fries. Nice glass of Rosè, people watching was on point. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp
Meh would be my first and last impression. I wasn't impressed by the food nor the service. I am pescatarian so I do enjoy seafood like no tomorrow. Being in Biarritz which is on the coast would enable anyone to be open to trying the seafood in the city. We ordered the Gambas (prawns), patatas bravas (potatoes with their house sauce), cheeseboard (mixed with cheeses, salad and their baguette on the side), and their calamari (probably the best thing on the menu). Everything, but the calamari were 2 stars. They got an extra star because of the calamari lol. Would I come here again? Definitely not. However, it's a great vibe inside with music and dancing on the weekends. According to our server, it's thee spot to go out to.

Yelp
We came here on the recommendation of our hotel. It was only a few minute walk from Hotel Saint Julien. We came early evening to take some tapas. The atmosphere was bumping. We chose a table outside near the heat lamps. I went and picked out some tapas from the bar. The tapas were mediocre. I sense they had been sitting a while or were not very fresh. Two of them had some guacamole like spread that was OK. The salmon one was the best, but even this did not compare to some of the other tapas we would have on our trip. We also had a salad which was not very good. It was completely drenched in dressing. We decided not to order any more food. Our sever was good and also quite good with English. Drinks came quickly and were reasonable priced. This place seems to be pretty popular based on the crowd. Maybe it is the location or the set up, but the food is mediocre at best. We left and moved on....

Yelp
The fish is most definitely frozen, the service is slow (our food got here cold), AVOID, there are much better places in town

Yelp
This place is great whether you are looking for a snack or a nice meal. The tapas is great, but the squid and paella are amazing. Make sure to get there early because a crowd will start to form. But if you do have to wait, it appeared you could still sit outside with a drink from the bar and some tapas.

Yelp
This definitely a good spot to have a nice tapas and hang out with friends. The food is delicious and very reasonable. The staff is friendly and speak a good enough English to explain the menu. My favorite was "couteau" a type of sea food from the Basque Country that leaves under the sand. Their sardines and fried calamari were also amazing. Our Basque friend ordered a mushroom omelet with a salad, which sounded strange for a dinner meal, however, it was one of the best omelet I have tried so far. They prepare it with a typical basque mushroom. Definitely a great spot that we will go back.

Yelp
Meh, not close to San Sebastian style pintxos! Bread was saggy and cold, almost a little sweet tasting, completely out of place. NO PUNCH to taste in none of the 7 different pintxos chosen (I think there were altogether 12 or so). 2 sorts topped with Brie!? On a pintxo? Come on, and this is the land of chèvre!! Beer on the list Carlsberg and some other not complementing at all tapas, why not spanish? Skip the pintxos NOT worth the visit! Service though very nice and attentive, extra star for that!

Yelp
This place is very busy! We arrived just before the big dinner rush. Place seems popular with the local people. I thought this because it wasn't the typical surf crowd. I was happy for this because I was tired of listening to "surf bros" brag about their exploits. I didn't have tapas but it looked very good. My fiancée had a salad and the tortilla "omelet with potato." It came out much earlier than my entree. Sangria was tasty. Baskets of bread are not very good. This. I may have been due to stage of the day, when bread gets a little harder. Or it may be because older bread is soaking up juices from the plate. I had the basque cod. It was very good. It was cooked just right with excellent texture and temperature. By the time we left the place was packed and lots of people waiting for a table. The staff was scrambling to keep up. This delayed our getting the check but it was a beautiful night. A great place for basque food, ambiance, and people watching!

Yelp
Ate here on our last night in Biarritz and was delighted to find such a jewel. Really bustling and buzzing part of town the outdoor seating was great for people watching and to enjoy some air. The place was filled with local Biarritz people which is always a good sign. We had the T Bone steak for two which was by far the tastiest meal during the whole holiday. Desserts were equally delicious with the Cafè Gourmand being a highlight. Total cost for dinner, drinks and dessert for 2 was €75. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Tapas are not bad. But the food we had was quite ordinary. Axoa de veau was more like boiled meat with no flavor. Service is bare minimum. Touristy place if you enjoy people watching more than what's on your plate.

Yelp
Nice place to hang around with friends, warm atmosphere and friendly staff !

Yelp
This place is very popular and for good reason - both the food and the atmosphere are great! My friend and I ordered tapas and sangria - all very good. We also split an order of mussels and frites and they were some of the best mussels I've ever had - the sauce was divine and we ended up cleaning the pot with bread. If we ever return to Biarritz we will definitely be coming here again!

Yelp
Great food! Amazing oysters, sardines, "navajas", chipirones... the place is always busy so waiting time is around 40 minutes, however, totally worth it! And it has great French-Spanish timings. We loved it! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We had a lovely meal here on our first night in Biarritz. The service was great and the food was just delicious. I went for the fish special Dourada?? A white fish I think it was sea bass with fennel just yummy and my boyfriend went for the filet de boeuf both were wonderful we also had dessert I went for the merengue citron and the other half had baba de rum and two Irish coffees just to be gluttons but both were very tasty and overall it a very nice evening!

Yelp
It was very busy when we went (the end of a holiday weekend) - but the food was delicious! We had the Paella for 2 and a carajillo (drink) for dessert. The portions are huge! The only reason the experience wasn't perfect was that the service was lacking. We speak very little French and the waitress was very impatient with us. We later heard her speaking perfect English to another table which left is a little confused... Overall it was a good meal and good local Biarritz spot.
