The Best Bars In Berlin

"East Berlin’s first French bar, Le Bar Tabac, opened in Prenzlauer Berg in 1982 when the city was still split in half. From behind the Wall, the French owner attempted to recreate the bar his grandparents owned in Paris of the same name, and it still has an old-school charm. The glowing carotte rouge Tabac sign jutting out over the door signals a night of top-tier cocktails, good chat, and a smoke or two, secondhand or otherwise. We recommend the French gimlet, Lillet Berry, or one of the natural wines chalked up on the board. Le Bar Tabac is popular all year round, but has a real buzz in the summer, when locals pour out onto the pavement with a Gauloise in one hand and Le Vodka Soda in the other." - olivia ladanyi

We absolutely love this bar! The staff are incredibly kind, the cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is both inviting and enjoyable. The crowd is also super friendly, making it an all-around great experience!

Lovely small french bar with a long tradition. Very good cocktails, great champagne for 55 eur bottle and very nice service. Cozy place with a nice crowd, and I really recommend it.

I have lived in Berlin for 7 years and this is one of the best bar service I have seen in the city. The bartender today was just so incredibly nice, even the bar being crowded and the job being stressful for her. Thank you so much.

Great taste of France. If you want to know what a French bar tabac smelled like before 2004, this is your place. Staff is friendly, location is nice, prices are fair.

The service here is appalling and guaranteed to sour your day. Compounded by an unforgivably awful music selection played at an ear-splitting volume that distorts the sound into painful clipping. Do yourself a favor and choose literally any other pub.

A warm welcome and a small but well thought of wine selection at very fair prices, including champagnes. Friendly, enthusiastic bartenders. I'll be back.

Great bar but gets very crowded and limited space. Servive is very friendly.
