Le Bistrot à la Mer | Restaurant en bord de mer | Argeles-Collioure

I think some of the reviewers of this place were overly harsh - either that, or things have improved markedly in the past year or so. Service was friendly and prompt; food was very good (although the ceviche could have been more flavourful). Presentation was great. My only slight niggle is that the prices are slightly pretentious (though not outrageous - the fixed price menu was 48€ for 3 courses). If that price were (Canadian) dollars instead of Euros, it would be great value, but to be fair the price probably reflects the prevailing conditions in the local tourist market.

The menu was really top price versus quality. The flavour were astonishing and the dressing perfect. Some small mistakes as we were skipped from the hors d'oevres and they can still improve on the children's menu (as the price for a simple coke and ice are not in comparison with the very affordable price of the menu). Excellent wine list with regional features. Service is top.

Excellent food and beautiful view. Servers were polite and helpful, but we felt a little rushed. Cocktails and two courses done in an hour.

Creative and very tasty food in a smart setting with great views. We enjoyed the tasting menu.

That was a mistake. Very inattentive service. We were left waiting at the entrance for ages and then no one gave us the menus until we asked. Dinner itself ruined by cigarette smoke from three people at the next table. It was on a terrace but all covered with parasols so of course smoke doesn’t go anywhere.

4th time here, over 3 years. Always a delight. Food and service excellent!

Overlooking the Med. Staff attended us well. High standard of food.
